present great um before we start um the agenda we I would like to invite um our chief Owen to come up and speak um to our committee and [Music] audience yes good afternoon thank you for having me I just want to say uh it was a pleasure serving with the municipal Alliance for as long as I did sorry Miss charwin is not here today um but I do support the mission of the the organization I do believe uh that it's super important to have our police represented for the municipal Alliance and I'm happy to introduce jeppie deera who'll be taking uh over as chief of police he works super hard he's going to do a fantastic job and I just uh want to reiterate to him the importance that the police are involved in the municipal lines and uh keeping on with the mission that's so important for this town that's all well Chief Owen thank you so much for you know your service to the community and to the uh cranberry Municipal Alliance we're all going to miss you terribly so much hopefully you'll come and visit and sit um here and say hello once in a while after um your relaxation time off but we will miss you truly thank you so much thank you for the kind words take care and have a safe year wonderful uh rest of the year thank you thank you all right well um next we are going to ask our cranberry student representative to report on the jam fest um can you tell us how the jam fest went um I think the people enjoyed Jam Fest this year uhuh um can you tell us a little bit about some of the things like the rolling games video how that went and that thank you for so jam fest just a report on the jam fest and how it went do that feel like a really long time ago to you guys I bet so it was a while back if you guys remember we had it in kind of set up different um we had all the games a little bit closer together we um had the aux gym with some separate games there the big gym had a lot more kind of physical games and then um what did you guys think of what was new this time was the computer games the what did you guys think of that yeah I think I saw people around the X foox I think they liked it anybody else so I think the Xbox was definitely something that PE everyone enjoyed and I think the separate set of games and the octs were also very appreciated by everyone awesome anything that you noticed you're good we were really appreciative of um the the way it was organized this time it looked in the sense that there we've always had a really nice event um but the parents in charge this time wanted to just kind of like revamp a little bit and they utilized our space a lot better um so we were normally used to be a little more spread out and it was just kind of more in one area and it just kept the kids kind of closer proximity to each other so a lot of the games were better utilized all of the games that the municipal Alliance has given to us would get spread out around the building and I felt like it was more local so or closer together so that when the kids went to play they're oh they're they here too and like it kept everybody closer together it was I thought the best one that I've seen so far um it was really well attended and um uh it worked out really well so I I think it's one of the best things that the middle schoolers get to have you remembered something yes yeah so I I think uh that was also a very U very big Improvement because then we would have more time to we have more time to spend playing games rather than going around going to the games we want yeah agre do you have like an estimate of the participation you think yeah I I I think we were over 90% it's of the middle school it's just one of the best highly attended events that we have better than any dance every time so over 90% wow very nice um so um do you also have anything to share regarding the Middle School PSA challenge through partnership for drug free New Jersey um so I think we have a scripts together but our schedules we've been very very busy a lot so we've been struggling to find a time to meet together but I think in the coming weeks we should be able to find a time to meet together we been struggling too so we don't have anything yet okay all right that's fine so that's coming up in March mid-march so I'm glad that you guys are working on ideas together to come up with that um so SC I know they have to do do we do the Roll Call to um funding for J since we're talking about J good job how much was did we have idea yeah so um sorry um Joanne is not here um due to some reasons but anyway um there is a jam fest coming up in February and um you know we are asking uh the jam fest we would like to ask for $500 for the rolling game videos um as well as um about $150 $200 for decorations because every jam fest to get the hype up and the kids excited they have a different theme and that you know costs money for the decorations and also the parent in charge saw that the ping pong net needs to be repaired and the paddles and the B you know pingpong walls to be W so I'm not quite sure when we do the vote for that about um approving the fund for jamfest in February when is it in February like is our meeting going to happen I don't think so I think it's happening before our meeting in February I think our I think this is going to be before the jamfest jamfest is um on the 21st 21st so we may need to do the roll call now because they need to they need the funding of approv to um reserve the rolling game video you know with the vendor okay so I think Joanne sh wanted us to do a vote on the uh on the um amount could we vote as if it's needed like we vote for it that we would be willing if it's because I feel like some of it was paid for or I apologize it's okay um I I thought we talked about this in November and um the decorations that they buy and use in November they usually use for the school year so they'll use them again in February um I'm not sure though about the cost of the game I know that was different this year they had to get a different vendor so I don't know if that's was a more costly item but I wonder if we can make a motion that if there's a need to use up to a certain amount of money that we're all in favor of it if it's needed and then it can be decided Well Joan sharwin said that um to put in a motion to pay for the service the rolling game video service for next jam fest in February and she did put down $500 um and also to add um requests to add funding for the decoration and you know repairing on some of the things that needs repairing so somewhere between $150 to $200 so if we could since we're talking on about jamfest can we take a vote to approve that expense um because I think it needs to be done today um we could do it up to the amount my only concern is is that um the 2025 budget hasn't been adopted yet so um if we're utilizing 2024 encumbered funds then um let's table it at the moment and come back later in the meeting while I try and figure that out okay okay how about that all right thanks thanks sorry okay um all right so moving forward um to the next agenda we will have a police report by our we will I am uh just going to touch off of where Chief ens left off um we have successfully started the AR program in Cranberry Township uh for individuals uh in crisis we have a representative uh one day a month um comes at the police department set up camp for 8 to 10 hours um we provide an officer with that individual and any cranberry calls they come in or any follow-up calls more importantly that need to be um checked on or followed up with uh that's the priority uh and then we also have a shared service agreement if it's within three or four towns then we will dispatch that officer and that um uh professional to that um location um we've done it twice now um it's been very successful I'm happy to say that you know our home gets taken care of first um and I'm looking forward uh to increasing that there are departments that are um you know heavily staffed and funds aren't an issue and they do it once a week um Oldbridge for example does it every day Monday through Friday so um they can do that we can't but I think we can do at least two times a month so that'll be my goal to start to try to get uh more coverage and um for those who are are not aware what the arrive program is it's for individuals they're in mental crisis for whatever reason could be drugs could be psychological could be anything and um Studies have shown that uh unfortunately if you see an officer in uniform you see an individual in uniform you shut down and things tend to go sideways so we let the professionals go the officer stays back if they're need it they jump in and do whatever they need to do more importantly they have a radio and they can call for help and uh help will arrive so it's been very successful we a pilot program uh in Middle sex County and it's taking off pretty good so I'm happy to report that um it's going well and I expect to get further use out of it thank you so much for that report can I ask a question about that when you say do followup do you follow up with people that you didn't go out with the first time let's say there was an issue with somebody that had a mental health episode on a Monday and the person that that social worker whoever wasn't there until that Friday did they follow up with the person that you saw on the Monday even though they weren't there both they'll do they'll do all of it so if we didn't if we weren't able to get that person we will if a person's been treated and requires followup by a social worker that social worker will have to go back and then we will escort them try to stay back as much as we can sometimes even in the parking lot they have a two-way communication um but yes it's all of that and a lot of times it's easy for the police to go and handle what we need to do right we do it we put you on a bus you go get help that you need um and but then there's no followup there's no follow through there's no way for us to know or even offer any help and and now the state said okay well we need to do it additionally um I I'm going to make it a goal to train every one of our officers in the five-day uh Crisis Intervention training um and then do continuing training um as prescribed by the letter of the law but um we have a few officers I'm also trained in that um but I I just think the boots on the ground are the first ones responding and if they can talk a different way if they can you know communicate a different way then it can only help our residents thank you all right if we there's no more questions um we will now go back go to the um liaison from the township committee um is now um Robert Christopher if um you could just come and you know give us a report and thank you for joining us as as Alan and welcome hi everybody well thanks for uh the warm welcome um I have been to a whopping one Township committee meeting so far um where I was sworn in uh Lisa can he too that's true well the first one doesn't like it was nine minutes so that that's fair that's fair although I'll say it was uh certainly shorter than some of uh my school board meetings over the last six years Miss dler um Dr dler sorry um no I'm happy to be part of this this is very exciting Good Times um I'll say the uh Lisa was named mayor Iman elbat is our Deputy Mayor I'm the new guy in town and I'm excited to be here um anything that we can do to help you know keep me in mind reach out as needed and um yeah it's uh going to be a new fun year well thank you so much thank you so much for being at leison and uh looking forward to our collaboration together thank you absolutely I'm glad that we get to see you in this seat you'll see plenty of me thank you for your service um so now the next line is budget um so you know uh because the 2025 budget hasn't been um approved yeah we can just go over that item and discuss it at the next meeting okay okay I'm still working on the uh jamest stuff sure okay so Joan sh will do the budget budget next time and she be much better at doing that lucky her budet so now we're gonna go over our old business um quickly um so first line is um agenda is Teen Mental Health First a uh Ria if you could um share with us about about the team Mental Health First Aid um program at the high school okay sure um so we trained the St some of the staff across the schools I think I talked to you about that last time um after that we did an intro in December for the kids for the 10th graders um we had to do one class in 2024 so we scheduled all the classes starting March 11th so they'll be it's six session um course for each group there's like 14 groups we have six instructors so we'll rotate uh we start on March 11th and then we go like seven weeks well it'll be a little bit more than seven weeks but there's one bu makeup built in and so we're excited to get started we staffed all of those so with schedules hopefully you know we won't have to do makeups and um you're doing 10th graders right 10th graders yeah yeah that's a good age to do this yes I was just talking with someone a friend of mine and we're just talking about the importance of informing our youth especially in the high school because they face a lot of things and just education would just help them to be aware yeah we had some nice comments last year um a couple of them said they they would have liked this actually earlier when they're younger like in middle school but yeah yeah so we're excited awesome um so next agend next on the agenda is the fourth grade bookmark contest due to the partnership for drug free New Jersey um Erica do you can you give us an update on how the kids are doing on this project um yeah so they submitted them um so now I guess we're waiting just to hear back um on what happens next um I don't think we really had as many submissions as we have in the past doing it through the art class versus in health class um so I think that maybe that should be another conversation or have another look at um for the future um but we did have some students participate they were excited about it um and so we'll see what happens okay great thank you um so last year we talked uh we you know passed along a municipal Alliance pamphlet that was pretty old and um Chief Owen looked at it with um um I guess the lawyers and they said the information was um still valid and we talked about bringing this old brochure to um to into the community to see if we could share this brochure with the parents and community and it's basically about homeowner liability when you you know have have um you know alcohol in the premise and you serve to the under age and stuff like that there are liabilities and a lot of parents and homeowners just are not aware of those liabilities um that's something that um we um wanted to continue on in our conversation and provide it to our community members as a pamphlet okay so that's an old business okay so we'll sh and then now moving on to the next agenda the parent breakthrough partnership for new jerse drug free New Jersey um Joan sharwin she shared a video for all of us um I don't know if you had an opportunity to watch the video but it talks about a lot of you know issues uh specifically in the New Jersey the video specifically targets some information just for New Jersey but it just talked about the teen usage and vaping and and um you know narcotics and and stuff like that so it was a very good video um so we if um if you had a chance to look at it um we were just she was wondering how we are able to share this information um knowing that the national drugs and alcohol facts week is coming up in mid-march um does anybody have any thoughts about that video was it like kind of shocking to see the statistics or did you see yeah I watched it can you do the mic I did w i I did watch it it is shocking um it I mean the the bottom line is you need to keep just constantly talking to your kids about about drugs to drastically reduce the probability that they'll go into it at a young age um and also you know being a gen xer I'm really shocked at how many different types of drugs there are and how creative the kids have gotten uh with with using them in terms of different parties that are happening and medicines that they use from their grandparents etc etc so it was shocking in my opening and the only thing I can say is I'm thankful my kids are older now you know I mean I've seen videos like this in the past but to see the again it just showed me like how early we have to talk to our children because once they are 14 15 they're less likely to listen to you as parents I know that from experience so I think as a parent you know with older kids now I would have appreciated this information probably as a young parent which I didn't get maybe I wasn't denial I don't know but I think I would have appreciated it and I would have said a little bit more when my kids were younger when they were more receptive to listening to their mom so um something that at least the video I think showed us how important our work is because educating the public the younger parents is very important so Sasha is the goal to figure out how to get that video to the parents yeah I think it's a very powerful video but I think it's a conversation we have to just keep in mind and also it's a good video even just for us to just remember you know what's at stake and also just kind of inspire us to do the work that we do which is you know all voluntary and you know yeah okay sorry I have a question as a as a newer member um to you know the municipal Alliance is there do we have a mechanism for communication to a broader group like is there an email distribution list or some sort of like where do we typically disseminate information I could I can just share that from the school perspective that's one of the reasons why there's a bunch of us here from the school um so a lot of times we use a weekly communicator and if there's information that Municipal Alliance want shared we'll often share through um our channels for our to to hit our um younger population the K to8 population and I I know that Sasha's connection with the high school we can communicate up with the high school as well um so through the school itself is one one of the ways that we can communicate another way is through the township I know that um we could utilize the municip uh the township the mayor's update and put things there too if we if we wanted to we could ask for that right but we don't I mean almost all these issues tend to deal with things that like we want to get to the parents of the kids so there is no sort of central way to there is no way to do that way do it yeah well when I was a parent at cranberry Middle School I specifically um during you know parent teacher conference went to the gym health health education teachers and just told them my concerns about these issues can you just reiterate during health class so I think that helped so I would encourage younger parents to go to the health education teachers and say can you say this you know you know encourage them to just say a little bit more about it I would just put in that as a health and PE teacher um at the school it's very um challenging to find a way to make everybody happy um and that we need to be careful in the way that we deliver certain information or what information we give what we don't um you know some parents want us to go in depth into some topics and some parents don't want their children to even hear those words um so it's very you know a WID spread of what people would like um and so I think reaching out to the parents gives them the material and them the decision as to what they want their children to know yeah allowing our parents to be parents right so they would not take that that part away so our our work at school we teach through the curriculum standards and that's Our obligation um I think with this this is a an example of uh I didn't watch the whole video so I apologize but in what I saw it looked like small vignettes of like ads of like like the one that stuck that resonated was this little girl saying um like I know not to talk to strangers I know not to do something else and then they asked like well do you know not to take drugs and she just kind of looked and like so then the whole comment was like it's not too ever too early they're listening so I I think something like this for example could be something to share in our Communicator as a resource for our families so that they can you know get feedback and ideas and some of them gave some ways to kind of have start to have the conversation um with their kids I I don't see any issue with that but I agree with Erica and that we're we're definitely cautious and careful to be sure that you know the kind of instruction and what we're saying specifically to kids for us it's all you know twined with what the curriculum standards are and it's a fine line between parenting and teaching kids right thank you thank you for um helping us understand the you know the situation that you're in I never thought about that wow yeah because people want different things yeah no you're right definitely thank you okay moving forward to the next agenda um so for career day at Cranbury Middle School we have a phenomenal um speaker Ed gity um that we would like to bring in for career day and I saw I heard this man when you know we sponsored him many years ago preo and he was amazing I mean I was inspired you know just listening to him as a parent so he is available to come to Cranberry for uh career day on March 14th and um Joanne has been working with um the cranberry school counselor Christine Bolton and she's also highly uh wants him as the guest speaker and he is fee is um for 250 minute program is 5,500 and um that is his minimum fee and I know that having You Know spoken I mean got getting a other quotes from other you know speakers um he's probably you know right at that uh um he's he's you know that's how much they charge and I just know that he was you know phenomenal and he did he was received very well by the students when he came many years ago um so he Christine fton said that he can do the keynote session and a breakout session um and as a committee we you know I know we have to do a roll call vote but we cannot I don't know how to we're supposed to today it's it's okay [Music] um uh in working with uh my supervisor uh we can do the approval for jam fest but Ed should really wait until the February meeting because that's when the budget will be adopted by then if he's coming in March then he's not going to be paid until um you know March right yeah so so we can what we could do is we could table it put it on Old business for our February meeting and then his approval would just be then it's just a matter of if we have the funds you know okay do you have any idea when the budget will be um confirmed by the township the budget meeting is scheduled for um January 28th um so we should have an idea soon after that okay all right okay 5,500 all right um okay so the next one on the agenda is the learning series webinar um partnership for a drug free New Jersey there are monthly webinars focusing on the opioid crisis through the partnership for a drug-free New Jersey um Scout you can put the links in the minutes um okay some the links are the on the January 30th the national opio crisis current trends and solutions and then the February 27th preventing opioid misuse and addiction so these are learning series webinars that um you could put on our minutes okay all right now moving on to new business the American Heart Association um Erica you'll be able to talk about this um yep so I am doing our second American Heart Association fundraiser um at cranberry school um it's a a k to8 program um where the kids are able to raise money to donate to the American americ Heart Association um and then we have it's open for about a month um and then we have a big like celebration um in PE classes for two days um to celebrate everything that they were able to accomplish they can win prizes with you know however much money they rais they earn prizes stuff like that there's different missions along the way that they can earn prizes for um and it's just trying to raise awareness um for heart health and starting it early and having an active and healthy lifestyle um you know while raising money for a good cause so we are working within the school to make this happen um I know that we are trying to set up a basketball game with you guys um to raise money as well and we were wondering if there were any like ideas to brainstorm how Municipal Alliance could maybe um be a part of it in some way um to add to it um so um are you looking to get like volunteer or you know like um expenses certain expenses paid supported I don't I don't really think we need anything like that um I just didn't know I really wanted to open it up to everybody to see if anyone had an idea or suggestion that we can tie like the two groups together um so that you know like we could get some recognition for municipal Alliance even through you know the fundraiser that we're doing for the American Heart Association um just to kind of like be hand inand um I thought it fit well together so I just really wanted to get any input um from all of you guys to see if I mean if there's not there's not that's okay um but I figured I would just put it out there to let you know that this is happening um it's going to go from February 12th to March 13th um you know for that whole month and so if you have any ideas anybody um you know to throw them my way well I know that um Municipal Alliance we have moved Beyond alcohol and drugs but to mental wellness and um service is actually shown to be good for your heart like literally good for your heart yeah so I wonder if there's something we could you know kind of blend together yeah that's what I was thinking just to throw it out there to see if um you know anybody had any thoughts on it but I don't need anything specifically so just putting it out there we can always come back to it yeah so put it on your plates on your radar um and if you have any ideas until we meet again maybe jot them down so you don't forget and uh see if anything comes up yeah thank you if I could um I was approached by the union Chief Owens obviously deferred to me so I already approved it um and in my Moonlight hours I am a um high school basketball referee so myself and yeah I I got I'm better do my time but myself and um the deputy chief of South Brunswick um we're going to donate our services and we lean a little bit towards the police don't get mad but we're gonna um we're gonna we're gonna referee an official game so amazing awesome thank you so much you're welcome we'll be there awesome um okay so next on the agenda is the um the national drugs and alcohol fact sheet fact week is March 177 to the 23rd last year the students presented their PSA um students made an announcement about the that week with the important facts and the brochure was given to parents on this topic of how you know talking with kids about alcohol and drugs five conversation starters um so this year um you know we the idea is to possibly make the parent break video on YouTube available to the parents so the video that we saw um I mean for those who saw it I thought it was a you know it's a good powerful video right so I guess um if everybody's okay with the video that you saw we could you know move towards sharing that video to the parent Community but generate some ideas on how to you know make the reach wider and um compelling for the parents to spend 20 minutes watching this video so we'll percolate some of the ideas for our next meeting okay um now we're going to talk about some of the accomplishments from last year that the cranberry Municipal Alliance that we did together in last year uh we first of all sponsor the Middle School jamfest two of the jamfest um number two we did the national drug and alcohol fact week we participated with the students rep you know doing a middle school PSA contest um we provided brochure to the parents in Cranberry um we just student announcements throughout that week and then we also had a student assemblies um presented by Robert hackinson um he's a speaker that we paid for and he spoke about to all the students at from kindergarten to 8th grade about respect providing kindness and bullying prevention and how to make safe decisions in tough situations so so we pay for that and we also um sponsored Dr Kelly Moore and she talked on the topic of decision making and anxiety how to recognize early signs and symptoms and help children navigate successfully so another thing that we did was um for the health and wellness Fair we worked with the cranberry police unfortunately it was rained out but we did work hard and it was have uh it would have gone very well um we PID for the um the banner as well as the T-shirt contest as well as for the awning um but you know it would have been very nice but yes but we'll do that again with the cranber please this year yep and pray for no rain uh we had a t-shirt uh quilt made for that uh fair and um a quilt of 30 years of those t-shirts you know the drug-free t-shirt that we uh the cranberry Municipal Alliance paid for and that quilt was done very nicely we'll put it up in the next um um Wellness fair with the police force and for the Princeton High School we sponsor their freshman orientation in August with sandwiches and you know chips so that was nice um for the teen men uh pen penm Princeton Health we pay for the teen mental health first day for the Princeton High School sophomores and we trained 10% of Princeton High School staff on being First Responders with the Teen Mental Health First Aid so that's great you know to train that many you know staff at Princeton High School we um for the world Mental Health Awareness Day in October 10th um we had an information table at the library um in partnership with Centra State uh mobile health clinic and um that's where I got my flu shut I remember that for the Red Ribbon Week we had activities with the students in October and the theme was life is a movie film drug free uh we gave all the student um students theme related bookmarks pencils and stickers during the Halloween time we gave a gave away Substance Abuse Prevention me uh message on Main Street on October 3th first and um we had um free we provide information on Narcan uh training that's available at the Rob Ruckers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School so we helped advertise that event um so here are moving on where here are some of the goals for this m u Municipal Alliance for 2025 now that catching my breath on all the work that we did last year had ourselves on the back so for 2025 um we would like to implement just continuing programs for the national drugs and alcohol week continue to sponsor the middle school jam fest in November and February we are going to combine again our health and wellness fair with National Night Out um so working again with the police and that day it will be in aug August 5th we will work with cranberry school to implement programs on drug prevention for students and parents we will continue to provide drug and alcohol educational mental health and wellness programs for students parents and Community we are going to participate in community events provide resource to the community on drug prevention Mental Health and Wellness on cranberry day World Health mental health awareness day and on Halloween we're going to plan activities for cranberry school for R Ribbon Week we are going to partner with other boards commissions on activities and programs such as mayor Wellness commission Board of Health Park commissions and others that um you know will come up so these are our goals for 2025 um and now I would like to just open up the floor for public comments discussion of any thing that anybody wants to bring up talk about per you guys are thinking about anything bring to the table consider I'm going to just say one thing you know we talk about the Naran training and um I'm actually a licensed alcohol and drug counselor but I am not currently working in that field right so I went to the training the other day that was offered in my row and I have to tell you it was a fabulous training I mean and I consider myself fairly knowledgeable it was really informative and they gave you the kits and it was just a really good training that really everybody should kind of go and know about um so if you get the opportunity and you haven't it's a really good training to go to I mean the the presenters were excellent and they really talked about you know the effect of the drugs on the brain and it was just really very very very well done so thank you for sharing that how long is the uh program I mean that was an hour and a half the one in Monroe I mean they had a woman who shared her personal experience having lost her son and then um there were two student doctors in the department of psychiatry in the medical school that presented the different aspects and then they pres presented legal facts and uh and then they gave the training and everybody came away with their you know kid of yeah yeah yeah yeah and instructions on how to use it and and all but I the whole thing was just really extremely informative and extremely interesting and well done I was really impressed on how well done it was okay wow I know I still haven't done it I've been meaning to do it so once you get trained by do you carry it with you now you can carry it with you you know they said they said to us if you wanted to keep it in your car like it's probably not great in this cold weather but um certain temperatures you could or if you put it in your car to bring it in if you wanted to carry it in your car but yeah and then there's certain pharmacies like Texas Road pharmacy in Monroe is one of thearmy certain pharmacies around the country participate and we'll give you free Naran other ones you'd have to buy it but um yeah I was the same way as you it's like oh I kind of know about this and everything and it was just really good and and the facts are just like again kind of in your face that I I actually didn't realize this that 98% of the heroin on the street is laced with fentanyl I mean I didn't realize it was that high so you really just basically can't get straight heroin you can't get straight Valium you can't I'm talking about street drugs I'm not talking about you know and that's pretty frightening that every single drug that's out there on the street is laced with something else that people really have no clue what they're getting I mean that's the dangerous part which I'm sure you'll confirm so I I believe now like you don't need um to be trained to have a um an arar yeah it's really simple I mean you just it's like a nasal spray yeah if I could add there uh we make our officers train every every year um once a year it's it's right online you go to YouTube you can put in naram it's a certified doctor uh you watch a video it's not even half hour 35 minutes and the training she's talking about their testimonials their stuff but um by law every police vehicle that's on the road um has to have two Nar cans in the vehicle at all times um we have had successful saves uh utilizing it uh within the township obviously um but it's something that is very important and and it's a problem everywhere so it's not just New Jersey um but to your point with the fentanyl I mean yeah the the street level drug dealer has to get the drugs and then they have to make they're paying what they're paying and they're cutting it because they need to make a profit so that's why you don't know what you're getting and uh that that's exactly what it is but the training is phenomenal they're um there's as a civilian you're covered by the Good Samaritan law you're not going to get in trouble you're not going to get sued if they try to sue you uh law enforcement has a little higher threshold that's why we have to train as much as we do but um if you're using it in good faith you you can't hurt them right if you do use it you do want to call the police we want to get EMS out there um it does counteract everything that your body's going through so we want to get them to the hospital just for but we did a save and they were like yeah go pound salt I'm leaving and and just started walking away and we can't do anything about it if that happens but generally speaking we would want to get them checked out by a doctor well that's what they emphasized in the training the other day to make sure you call 911 and actually the other interesting thing too like you say if you're in a crowd let's say and someone's pass out sobody everybody says call 911 and this is like a minor little thing but it impressed me because it's like they were saying make sure that you say Hey Joe call 911 or you in the red shirt right because otherwise everybody thinks the other guy did and everybody else is taking videos or whatever else they're doing and the other thing I the Narcan actually apparently didn't know that the opiate can actually outlive depending on how much opiate you Ed that so even the two doses of Naran the person still might have a negative outcome because they had so much Opia in this we also don't know which is why you really need the backup medical yeah and normally we don't know what they're on right it's very rare do they do the drug and then they just leave a nice empty container for us to say okay here it is we know what you took it doesn't work like that so a lot of times you know we do pre um preventative naram because we suspect it you know in certain situations uh sometimes repeat offenders we know but otherwise you don't know and you got to get EMS there as soon as you can um so if um I sign up for the online thing don't have to sign they ma the to me how do they no well that's the difference so the training Texas Road pharmacy and just ask for it from my understanding is they just give it to you yeah yeah I mean they yeah it's an epidemic so they really are trying to um you know save lives um you know whether that saves a life today and then tomorrow's a whole other story so be it but the training I'm talking about is Right on YouTube you could look it up and um you know do the training just to make yourself feel comfortable um and they go over in depth with some stuff but it's not a heavy lift at all um the training she's talking about once you're done they do you walk away with the Naran and it can be expensive if you go to buy it yourself like you know a two pack dose is about $125 so it's not cheap WOW but you know because the epidemic that we're in right now they're literally giving it away so postco we're in a world of hurt New Jersey I also just want to add my husband's a park ranger and you know people go out and enjoy themselves in parks and we actually ordered Naran off of Amazon so you could get it off of [Music] Amazon um I mean I've been in this CMA for a while and I still haven't you know gone to those training I've been meaning to but I think it's good to know that you know thank you for going and encouraging somebody like me well I felt the same way as you Sasha I'm like yeah you know kind of kind of know about this and yeah I should do this I should do this and then it just was there and I was like okay I'm signing up to do this and it was really a good program so yeah what like 30 bucks right for a double dose or what well listen Amazon's taking over the world so I mean that doesn't if you try to go buy at a pharmacy that's the prices we're talking about so we were doing that initially before the state said okay we're GNA help you I mean the police department was literally purchasing it so that's where we're getting from Imagine This is just a doctor doing uh doing doing the training okay thank you that'll be my goal to you know I want to go to the training in person to hear some of these stories as well but I think that'll be my goal for 2025 to finally get it to put that on my list um is that it any more comments discussion no no on jamfest can we vote on it we can vote on jamfest not the other that's a little price sure all right so thank you for um allowing us to vote on it so before we go and adjourn can we vote on the jamfest expense coming up so that'll be $500 for the um what is it called um the rolling games video and then $15 $200 uh for decoration and fixing you know the the things um like the ping pong allnet whatever they need fixing so can we do a vote on that so you can ask for a motion for $700 up to $700 to um support jamp okay so can ask for that op okay um so we would like to vote for up to $700 for the jam fest um and we'll take up to $700 so we'll take a vote on that okay I make a motion for up to $700 for jamfest I second all right we're going to move on to roll call Miss Schulman yes Miss charan's Excuse miss benov yes Dr dler yes Miss Stanley yes Mr Patel yes Mr derera yes Miss Kaplan yes and Miss Weinstein yes thank you that's unanimous awesome okay so I think we are adjourned right motion to adjourn motion to adjourn second second all those in favor I
