##VIDEO ID:W-DqjFlwKuo## hello everyone I'm gonna call this meeting to order it's uh 8 I'm sorry it's 7 o'clock on December 18th this is a meeting of the cranberry Parks Cranberry Township Parks and Recreation Commission let's do the Pledge of Allegiance I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all all right we'll move on to our statement of adequate notice pursuant to the open public meetings act notice of this meeting was sent to the cranberry press the Trenton Times and home News Tribune on April 9th 2024 posted on the bulletin board posted on the Township's website and sent to those who requested a copy of this notice all right we'll move on to an attendance roll call and report of volunteer hours okay uh Kelly lavry Two okay Brendan Hansen here two hours not here Omar here one hour one see uh Katie Harmon here one Adam's not here yet Sally ogrady present three hours and B's not here yet okay [Music] all right we have a quorum um let's consider our minutes from our last meeting on November 20th does anyone have any corrections to report to the unapproved minutes if not I'll entertain a motion to approve the minutes from November I'll second that uh I I'll entertain a motion so I need it first oh that means yeah I make a motion to approve the minutes thank you is there a second I'll second all right roll call Kelly yes Brandon yes uh Omar yes Katie yes Sally yes that's it all right we have our reports uh there is a representative from the township committee here good evening everybody how is everyone all right thank you for letting me sit in for Michael today um I think he had advised that he wasn't going to be here last U meeting um I just want to thank you thank all of you first of all because you are this Pioneer batch of old Parks members and old recck members that's making up this new um commission and you've done a great job this year I'm just so grateful for all your time and just listening to how many hours you all put in in addition to this uh meeting it's really it warms my heart so thank you all very very much for taking this seriously um I I don't really I don't necessarily have a a focus sort of um Township committee report for you all I just want to encourage us to continue how are you pal good to meet you um it's um you know you have a wealth of a resource here on your board on your commission with um with Ken Jacobs as the recreation director and I think that if we can continue to use his um sort of expertise towards the projects that you were all looking at and proposing that would be great and especially in um in terms of community ation as well with DPW I think that's um the way to go uh I look forward to the amazing work you guys are going to do for next year the projects being proposed and maybe some programming um Donna is going to be coming aboard with some of the senior programming so it'll be nice to tie some of that stuff together and I will continue with some of the senior interests in the capacity of the mayor's Wellness campaign and um you know just I think looking to collaborate in in that space will be very uh helpful for next year and um at at the time that this agenda went out I don't think we had at the township received a capital sort of request for any of the the capital budget yet so I would encourage us to U Move in that direction and um if I could share one piece of uh feedback uh from the people that attended the ribbon cutting they're all looking forward to a new Pavilion so I know you are all well ahead of uh of the game for that project I'm looking forward to um to that becoming a reality for next year um everybody has sort of I feel like Village Park in particular has been little by little we've chipped away at things that uh have really enhanced what Village Park is for this community so thank you all for your vision and like staying focused with it and I'm here if you have any questions for me could you clarify what you mean by new Pavilion the um the roof the roof being done okay thank you yeah thank you any other questions for me while I'm here anything for from the members excellent thank you thank you environmental commission report there are no Representatives here did anybody attend or communicate with the LA with the environmental commission since our last meeting yes I went to the meeting Sally I attended the meeting and I brought up three items that were of that we wanted to bring up one is that there are still trees down on the Pin Oaks Trail uh they were aware of that they had also let DPW know the trees are still down as of two days ago when I took a walk there I don't know uh Mr Jacobs if you could get on dpw's back and work on these trees two of them are completely across the trail and one of them is hanging over what they call a Widowmaker so on the Pino Trail uh parallel to um old Cranberry Road um I we had mentioned here on at the parks and wreck a trail maintenance day uh similar to um The Watershed cleanup day and I brought that up with them when they really like that idea um they said yes to it they just um I'm not sure how it's going Donna it wasn't really are they going to continue with it are we going to continue with it I think we should keep it on our agenda and we should keep talking to them about it and hopefully we can get a public Trail maintenance day or days in the years to come I also mentioned the idea of an offleash dog area uh they actually liked that idea and they were going to look into it further um the area that I had mentioned was at the cranberry Brook preserve because it's the biggest open area furthest from homes and stuff and they also like that idea but lot of concerns a lot of concerns about um how much of that preserve is it going to be and is a sign really going to work that says now you have to put your dogs back on the leash and are people going to pick up and then um they Township representative was Barbara Rogers who's very en environmentally concerned and she was concerned about dogs going into the Habit wildlife habitat if they're off trails and stuff so I'm not sure where this is going but they like the idea so I would I would keep it on our agenda and hopefully keep it on AC's agenda and then they had one thing for me to bring back to you and that is that there is a new initiative in the township um for wildlife habitats you may have seen some signs people have signs on their property where they've qualified for a wildlife habitat and they have H been approved for them for The Preserves so they're going to get signs that say this is a wildlife habitat and they wanted to know if we also want that in the Parks whether we're willing to also have that in parks and um I asked was it the entire park of Village Park or maybe just the small area back where the bike trail is and they said no it would be the entire area and that we would definitely qualify for it so it's a matter of you have to spend $20 to get the certificate and $34 to get the sign so there's a small sign it's about the size of the no smoking signs in the Parks it would probably go on an existing thing and um I said yes I spoke for you guys what is the what's the function of the sign it's wildlife habitat it it you have to I don't know really what the function is I know I'm on one from the Watershed Institute where it says this is a clean water area or something and I had to qualify by saying I don't take my car to car washes and I don't want my lawn and things like that so this would be the same kind of thing for wildlife habitat where we have nesting for animals and and I um I don't have all the details but I know that small homeowners with even very small patches of property can get this um you're saying they said that the park already qualified they already qualify for them they just just wanted to know whether we were amenable to having that there and um I didn't see why not I suppose I should have brought it back to you guys but um The Preserves are qualified and they're already getting the signs and so do we want it for our our three Parks basically Millstone Heritage and Village and I I'm willing to go to the meeting uh next month too does anybody have any feedback are we okay with that or should I tell them that I misspoke or I don't really I'm not sure I get it um I have no real objection but um yeah well Dela georgees who is a she's a she's a really active girl Scott leader in town and this is her entire initiative and I know that there's been something on the township newsletters about it um I've read that so you could probably get more information from the township about it um do you I don't know if Iman knows any more about it I just want to make sure it doesn't change functionally the way that the park like cutting the grass no no that's why I said to them are you sure you don't want typ of plants that like not native and things like that I think it's I I don't think it's plants I think it's more animals Wildlife yeah and that they can Nest there and do all that stuff you know whatever they do and yeah I I don't know um if you want if if it goes on an existing post that sounds good all right to me and we said that too yeah I I'm not interest I'm not particularly receptive to another Post in the ground with another sign no it would be a a lot of the posts have like when we added the no smoking in the Parks one there's the no parking here and then underneath is the no smoking and then under underneath that we can put the wildlife and you know whatever it would be in existing so if you um want to look into it and um their next meeting is January 21st Tuesday Brendan if you want to get back to me before the meeting or if you want me to tell them that we're not sure I just think it's a really good idea to have this wildlife habitat initiative in town so I don't know um anything from the members on this I don't think it's expensive it's around what you said about $55 park for the three Parks was 20 and 30 54 yeah I no it's not expensive but I'm not sure what I'm not sure it's even though it's not expensive I'm still not sure it's worth the $55 um I guess it's showing that the town values this yeah and don't we get some points for something with it for sustainable Jersey or something like that so yeah cool it's all I believe it's all positive I believe it's all positive sounds good so I could tell them that we discussed it and that and that we are in favor of it yeah no objections and I'm I'm pretty sure they'll de do all the leg work um great I don't know if the signs would come out of our budget or even their budget I don't know because they budgeted for the signs for preserves already but we're not we're not talking that much so does anybody have anything else for me to bring back to the EC okay thank you uh shry commission I there's no representative here I haven't had any Communications with shade tree um unless any other me any other members have let's move on from that Parks preserve updates anything to report from the members anything a Miss in our Parks preserves just what I said about the trees down in pinotes yeah all right um anyone else NOP uh report from our Recreation director okay we have um submitted for a grant for the tennis court project even though there is a budget the capital budget for it as well we're hoping to get a grant to uh pay for that Rehabilitation of the um tennis courts um it has Department of Public Works list here besides the pin oaks I I really don't have much on there ex you know we do have the Heritage Park water water bottle drinking f Mountain station they're not going to do that I have met with a um plumber uh last week to go over what would be involved and looking to get a price from them they said right now they wouldn't suggest doing it because things are water's off and ground is Frozen from you know time to time so they they think they should do that in the springtime um but I will get a price from them I'm just waiting um for that from them the pickle ball nets one of the Nets the the wheel um attachment was taken off and we don't know where it is one of the Nets is still working so we're going to go with one net because we're GNA buy new Nets and I'm not going to keep buying new Nets so um we're going to buy the heavy duty ones as part of that project uh for the spring the uh speaking of that project the uh engineer has gotten his uh purchase order sent to him so we will begin that uh process uh after the New Year on that uh on that going out the bid putting the specifications together and all that kind of good stuff so we're moving forward with that the Memorial Park life preserver uh I asked public works if they had any spares they said no I'm just looking to try to figure out what size fits in the uh box that's over there Jerry's going to get that to me and we'll get a couple ordered and we'll have a spare um so they're not that expensive so that's not a problem um everyone should have received the back in October most likely an email that we received from Resident about um potential Cricket pitch installed in one of the parks um something for us to think about Cricket is a a growing sport in this area particularly in West Windor there are three Cricket pitches um and if I could build five more I you know we would we would do it if we had the space um the high schools both the high schools have teams now and they're playing against the other areas high schools so uh it is it is a growing sport I just don't know where we would put a pitch because if you're not familiar with Cricket it it's everything happens in the middle of the field um and you need a large space circular or oval around it to be able to play it so for instance if we wanted to if we considered Millstone it would have to go pretty much right smack daab in the middle of that uh area which would be part of the Outfield of the baseball field probably part of we'd have to do soccer fields kind of around it because you can't you can't go on that pitch area especially the one that they're talking about doing which would be a concrete base with the AST Turf top um and when you when you play on those areas the the the pitcher I'm the bowler right but it's a pitcher um in my mind runs up on either side of the pitch and those areas get beat up because that's constant um traffic back and forth so that whole area around it has to be maintained quite extensively to be able to keep grass growing there so um you know this isn't the first time we've had a request to put a cricket pitch in in one of our Parks but I just don't know how it could work in any of our active parks Parks has done a feasibility on this years prior and we determined there's no space in Cranberry for a cricket pitch so we told uh the last group that came to us that we were not interested because we don't have the space for it so you guys had the same same people y okay just wanted to keep you informed of what this came in through the township website went to public works first and then made its way to me um other than that trying to think of what else we have um I think that's all I have anybody have any questions for me all right yeah I don't think um I have a question what's the average cost of a cricket pitch if you know that off hand geez it's been SE it's been many several years since we done them um so off I can't tell off hand and right now I'm sure the price is probably one and a half times of what it was probably at least $100,000 because it's it's a lot of concrete and it's asurf too that's not cheap it's and it's a high quality asur because they need the the ball to bounce consistently at all the time that's why you put the concrete base down a lot of times originally we started with dirt you know a dirt area where we rolled out a mat and the ball can go anywhere and that's not how like Cricket is is supposed to be played so it's not that's not ideal okay yeah I um I don't see how we could make that work yeah I don't I just don't think we have the space either all right let's move on to our old business uh subcommittees Circle procurement um I see we have a pamphlet here of C Circle procurement ideas uh featuring the water feature a flower garden sculptures seaing and gazebo um so Christina is not here she put this together she couldn't be here tonight but she asked me to talk just a little bit about them and all that I can say is exactly what it says which ones require maintenance and water and um which ones require very little maintenance um again I I don't know that we can make any decisions tonight um Christina has more background we also asked you guys to come up does anybody have any additional ideas of anything I know the um the second one flower garden where it shows like the Zen type Garden on the top left there uh that was one that was brought up by several of you people um but again if we if we did some kind of shade structure a gazebo in the middle we could put the Zen Garden at one side because this is an oval we're talking about yeah so I I don't think there's too much we can do with this item tonight given that we have um some of the members have a time constraint and we're also missing are I missing two or three people miss two um so um if anyone has anything to add right now please uh go ahead just it's really helpful for me to have visual examples of what um everybody's been talking about because just saying like Garden but seeing the different examples has been very helpful yeah and it's stimulated more process well you can thank Christine she put these together thank you I just I mean that the flower gardens look great but it it's maintenance yeah it's a lot of Maintenance it's watering too I don't we don't and and we've been asking DPW to replace and do the plants at Millstone Park and that Lion Circle for like three years now and and that hasn't gotten done so I'm concerned that if we do something that needs high maintenance like this it's it's not going to last unless we as volunteers go out and weit it and water it and there's not a water source near this that's why um a fountain would be wonderful there but I don't we don't have a water source near there yeah um all right well let's continue to think about this and um try to reach consensus um going forward amongst ourselves I just think our our major thing was we we wanted some ideas so that we could have it in the budget for next year but I guess that's not going to happen no I thought we decided that we wanted to wait uh until the next budget cycle um that was my reflection this will be at least a year down the down the pike yeah okay um all right so I guess we'll move on from that one um the Millstone Park dog dog off leash area Sally you reported on the East the environmental commission's receptiveness to that idea but also that they have some concerns about it but why do it say Millstone Park that was never a you know what that's right um for a dog off leash area I that is that should for the record say um not say mstone Park I don't know how that slips through there um that's a I should say cranberry book preserve uh dog off leash area we had a proposal for that the idea was that in the crary brook preserve by the school uh also known as the area also known as the West Property there would be and I'm I know we all know this I'm saying this for the record uh or for anyone who's observing um that in that area there would be um a policy to allow dogs off leash um not a dog park per se but you can walk with your dog off leash um and play cash with your dog but not really a dog park um and the EC was receptive to that but they did have concerns and the next steps on that remain um uncertain so we will have to uh keep in touch with with the EC to see what to see how their concerns advance and progress and what they come up with and um what our next steps can be and how we can be helpful with that and just for the record it cranberry Brook Reserve was our first thought of where it should be but if anybody else had any other thoughts of where it should be in town we have any other land that's not a park that's not developed that we could turn into that we're amenable to any ideas yeah that was just the first one we thought of um okay mstone Park Memorial this is on the agenda because it's an unresolved item but I don't know what I don't know what work we need to do to get it done um if we need to reach out to DPW and format a proposal or something or or just ask them to plant some shrubs or something um it it looks bad I thought at one point we were going to get shade tree involved to give us ideas of what would be what would work there maybe if we moved through shade tree we would get the ball rolling quicker yes Sally you are absolutely right that slipped my mind I'm sorry about that folks um I think I said I would contact shre last month and I Didn't Do It um I can take that assignment on again um but I'd be happy to hand it off if there are any volunteers um the additional the other the other step to consider is that um even if they give us a list of you know acceptable plantings we still have to uh make a choice about which ones we want to go with um and sort of the area we want to fill if we want to stick with that semicircle or or do something else um so I'll come up with something for that I feel like it's really hot in here I'm sweating um and we also discussed the trail cleanup proposal um under your report s from the environmental commission again next steps are uncertain um we'll have to partner with EC to see how we can get that moving and we might have to um discuss that too with uh the township committee or uh the township Administration or uh a third partner like the Watershed or something anyone else have anything to add on that item all right uh Pavilion Roof village Park Adam do you have anything to report uh I found on the old quotes I'll just pass them off to Ken so he has them for the budget meeting if he has an idea of what we're looking at from there all right fantastic thank you anyone else have anything to add that'll be on the our Capital request we we do have some that we didn't use because of all the issues that we ran into whether we wanted to clean repair re in renew so there is some still from last budget all right uh if there are no objections from the members I'm I'm ready to move on to our new business section Sally did you have something um I just have one question since the chess tables are now going to the library is that still coming out of our budget or do we have it's already it's they've already been paid for yeah and so there's it's a it's a capital budget so it's not it's really the town's capital budget so the the same money that was set aside for the purchase of chest tables replacement in Heritage Park that same set aside money is going to be used for the purchase of the tables to be installed by the library so I guess the answer is is yes it is it is coming out of the money we had asked for so Parks can get credit for for putting those in I think we certainly can um all right new business we have a proposal um from the Helen Cody Foundation regarding Heritage Park I see there are some Representatives here to discuss this with us come on up and introduce yourselves for uh the record and your role with um with the foundation my is uh can you um uh my name is Linda Morris and I'm president of Helen Cody found and Mom of Helen I'm Noel Kenny I'm a board member of Helen Cody Foundation I'm also the president of the cranberry Arts Council thank you both for coming you are well known to me and many in town um and we appreciate having you here to uh uh address this to us so we have handouts that we would like to distribute thank thank you handouts are always appreciated so a little bit about Helen Cody foundation so it started because um Helen was a Girl Scout and um she was very active in town she was had a large role in community service and she wanted to bring the 5K back to Cranberry it had been an event that was hosted by the YMCA and um then it had paused so she had planned to bring this for her um Girl Scout Gold Award but unfortunately um she wasn't able to to do that um unfortunately she had a brain aneurysm and and when she was in the hospital her friends couldn't visit they couldn't send flowers so they started making origami cranes and from The Legend of sedo and the Thousand cranes so as it turned out there were over 3,000 cranes that the students of Princeton High School cranberry school and area schools made um so an origamic crane is a very special symbol and it's symbol for the Helen Cody foundation and um so the three words that the friends came up with to describe her were Community compassion and caring and that is the basis for the foundation and the mission is to inspire youth to volunteer to better their communities and themselves so um since we have started this 16 years ago we we have a youth leadership program so area students apply for this youth leadership program and there are 67 hel and Cody Scholars who have done all kinds of things from running stem programs for kids with autism to rebuilding the B basement of the um History Center in town and um it's open for students in central New Jersey um so that's that's what we do um but today we'd like to talk about a sculpture that we would like to contribute to the Heritage Park so I'll talk a little bit about that side of it um and and the proposal is um to be inh Heritage Park where the start and finish of the 5K race is um and sort of to go along with what in my mind now is the the loop the walking path which we now have different sculptures already there but really to be a um a place where people could walk and and see art along the whole way and this would be in the spot um where we're hoping that um there isn't anything right now but it is where the start and the Finish um so uh for me I kind of set out to um trying to find an artist who could do something that would be um really the symbol of the foundation and and it's not you know it's not easy to find somebody who can do outdoor sculptures that would actually look like an origami graen so I looked at local artists here I went through different many different places in New Jersey and Philadelphia and really you know didn't find that so we Braden The Horizon um and actually just came across this artist whose name is Kevin box um who's an award-winning you know really fabulous artist um out of from Santa Fe New Mexico but shows all over the United States and in the world um and his focus is on outdoor sculptures that look just like what we envisioned uh really was incredible and uh has a real focus on 100% recyclable um materials all his metal are already you know it's recycled metal that he uses um and his studio if you get a chance to take a look at it in New Mexico it's 35 Acres all about the preservation um of land and culture and it's I would love to go there somay and see this um so anyway so we've been in touch with them and really have um uh Linda really and I both just love this one piece called riseing cream um and that's the one that we're focusing on now that we would like to bring to you to um really find out what the next step is if this is a possibility how we can um bring this for everyone in our community to enjoy thank you um let me just add for the record that the sculpture Rising cranes by Kevin box uh the dimensions are 84 in by 40 in by 38 in uh that size uh is going to vary a little bit but that's the general um that's the general Dimensions that we are looking at and the material would be um stainless steel is that right yeah yeah so it also just to make sure there there isn't really a cost to the town or the township right this is all funded by um the foundation so um so you are looking for us to accept uh the donation of the sculpture and approve its location um in her in Heritage Park yes all right um are there any comments from the members on this just quick comment will you be having a plaque as well yes yes okay um I think it's a wonderful idea I I um first want to say the cranes are a wonderful idea at least three of her classmates including one of my daughter got a tattoo of a crane on her from Helen um they all went together and got this because Helen was Kelly's classmate um it's tragic tragic I one concern I have is does it does it look like you could climb up that I mean I just how do you keep kids from climbing up and damaging the statue I I don't think it could be damaged I mean we can certainly go back and talk to them it's stainless steel it's steel so could they be cut if they were to fall on one of these sharp points and be cut on I mean I don't know the has that yeah that's and that's and that's just that's I mean I love it I want it I definitely want it these are in Parks like if you go to his website they are they are they do exist all over the mid states in park so I don't know how that very close to the playground yeah so maybe a a small sign this says no climbing on Statue or I don't I don't that that's my only concern I I definitely definitely want this or something or even if it's a different one without the small cranes that you can't climb up with just one crane on top or something I mean um I just want to keep everybody safe I get that concern Sally but I I I feel feel like you could climb on really anything I mean even you know a water fountain you could you could climb on top of and bounce on one leg and possibly risk injury um I mean I'm I'm all for it I absolutely I was like don't even give the presentation just say yes you no I and I totally understand that and you know they could climb on yeah sometimes they fall in hallways and break although I must say like I been just like at the playground and the kids the older kids climb onto the top of the swings like I've been there seeing that so yeah you can climb up we have the same problem with trees but you also are speaking Insurance you've already spoken to someone about insuring culture I'm sure insurance companies will look at all of this and say what there's some issue they probably be the first people to you know that's a good point what kind of yes yeah this would be a one of a kind um I think this this one does exist um it's their similar like if you like this one then it would not be the same uh every Rock the stone is different so they're all slightly different but I think it's of the same um idea okay so for 202's race and it just I know that that they have said that it can like the height can vary with the stone so maybe to like if if we didn't want it so high maybe it could be on a flatter base or something like that too we asked for that flatter base like they might want it it might be easier for them to climb on those cranes if the base is flatter that's true we can talk to them about that 84 Ines isn't too high that's like what s feet or so um but obviously that's still um high enough to fall um so what's the general sense of the members on the uh well let's break it into two um does anyone have any objections they want to uh voice to accepting a um sculpture donation and principle um without the specifics any objections to that no so we like that idea um we have heard uh not an objection but a concern about the sculpture from Sally regarding uh climbability and safety um are there any others who are concerned about the particular choice of sculpure how how big will the plaque be accompanying the statue is that in here it's the plaque is not in there but it would be a little explanation that would fit within similar to what is there now right I think that you purchased through the township we have several different plaques there's one for Juliana um which is actually a stone there's some for Tom Widner there's one for Judy Dawson on a big Stone and there's another one that's very flat to the ground so we would like to see your proposal of the plaque or whether it's on a stone or whatever it is before you go ahead and order it for some reason I thought that that was the choices would be what you off like when you the park bench right like when you come isn't that through the Township um so I think we we assumed that that piece of it was something you all well it's not uniform that's the thing we've had different ones at different times so they're all different so you could give us a proposal of what you want okay if it could be a plaque on the rock yeah I mean that would probably in my opinion it wouldn't be an existing another plaque or another stone or another sign or anything just something small on the actual base yeah that sounds quite suitable to me it doesn't require another um structure of any kind um some plaques are literally just in the ground too in Heritage Park like in the grass is this something that we can accept or does this have to go to TC I mean I think this we'll have to go to TC or um I mean we don't have any legal basis I don't think to accept a gift uh this commission itself but um we can certainly make a recommendation to the town committee on it my only concern with the size of the plaque is there was some discussion after uh the playground equipment about the size of the plaques getting larger and larger and so um if you know once again if we have a proposal in front of us that we can see and approve uh um that would make it a lot easier than you know you know site on scene or whatever but um as far as the project itself I would say that we could just you know pass the motion on to the TC that we're an approval of accepting this uh or if you think otherwise but like take a vat on it and then take let the TC know where our position is as far as how we feel about accepting this statute into Heritage depner um and the location does anyone have any take any issue with the location well it's hard to tell exactly where it is from this picture um it's where the two uh where the the path coming in from old TR Road and the um like if if the playground is here and then the path comes in this way where they meet from Old Trenton or from Stockton um the playground on Stockton and then old Trent road is here I don't have my map with me at the park um or me drive so uh yeah another way to visualize it would be from the circle Could you um could you like pull it up on Google Maps and just point to point to it are the mapping service of your choice so it's closer to Old Trenton or closer to Stockton closer to I don't know where the race starts I'm always down at the jewelry sale the start and finish of the races that's that's where we wanted to put the chest tables isn't it I mean they're not going there but oh no okay isn't there already a sculpture there no there is not whereby park right yeah walk a little bit there's only sculpture right there I thought it was closer Oops I did something badc just a pen my M um so if this is Road and I meain Street this is the light this is the Fountain and then the oval runs like this and the playground is here that's the playground um and this path comes in here and meets this path here [Music] there's a exit there add a meeting call you back and this one comes in like that so great where these meet so if I were to walk if I were to walk um okay so the other Statue was is right about where your pen is there's one there okay and there's another okay this is correct oh yeah yeah so if I were to walk around the circle um and walk from Stockton this would be near where the path diverges and one completes the full loop and the other one goes toward ult Tren Road and this Kelly's home all right um so I would like um can we do a little straw poll um there's inside the yeah we're saying put it inside the gr no mic okay exactly exactly where the other ones are in the path we just okay there's basically two big ovals here correct here's the parking lot and then you have this pth that comes in from old Trent on this side y this is our water fountain right here Y and this is an existing sculpture here an existing sculpture here and then there's one down on this end so with this being the Grove area where oh no okay so you're over here by the parking gotcha by the the uh playground playr yes so where this path meets this path right that's H okay all right so inside near this exist got you all right really the opposite across from it right because this one's a little more it's not as far down here right right it it is closer to the other side you are correct okay I mean that's really P I think we can probably get a satellite image in the downtime to get a better exact location um yeah I mean I've got a pretty good sense I've got a pretty good sense myself of where it is um so can I make a motion that um The Parks and Recreation Commission approves the idea of the Helen Cody sculpture and would like to pass it on to TC for approval I second that all right great roll call Kelly yes Brendan yes Omar yes ad yes Adam yes Sally yes and B yes um I would ask that um you um give us a report back you don't have to come person you can email um of what you'd like the dimensions of the plaque to be as well as any text you might have on it if you want to do something simple like a a sentence or a phrase like in memory of Etc or if you want something a little bit longer um just so we get a sense of that is there are there dimensions that you have just so we I not to my knowledge I I mean I yeah I don't I don't really know I know we like the pla the bench plaques are are pretty small I think it's going to depend on where you want it if you want it right on the stone itself I mean that I think that would be great I just don't want to waste your time if we don't you know if if you have something that you just do not want it past this size I mean I would say like no more than 8 by eight um I mean some plaques are are like you know two feet by two feet we don't I don't think we're looking for something like that um might the artist also like have an idea of what the plaque or inscription or maybe it's not even a plaque maybe it's just like worked in somehow I don't know like shouldn't we defer to the artist a little bit as well and see as long as it's not enormous yeah we don't know yet I'm assuming we will have to include the artist's name it will be somewhere so right I don't know how they will want us to do that but because it looks like the rock is sitting on a base so maybe somewhere on that base instead of an additional but I think that's that's detail to be worked out I don't know if that one was just if this is just taken as a you know to put into the gallery I am fully conf that we can work this out um I don't know what do we think like no bigger than a piece of printer paper or is that even too big what do what if we find out from our yeah that's fine okay yeah um and what's our next um so if it goes to the Town Council what does that mean for us are we I don't know exactly um how the township committee will want to handle this um we can reach out um you can reach out we can reach out together to the Township community members and see um how they want to move forward on this if they want to agenda it as an item for their next meeting or if they want to wait to the following meeting or um if they're totally cool with just moving forward already um we'll we'll need to get a little more clarity from them on that great thank you so much really thanks thank you see you thank you very much for coming and for all the work that the foundation does for cranberry and the community thank you um board member term exper is there anything else to wrap up this item or are we done all right we're done uh board member term expiration some of the members have term have expiring terms coming up uh we've got Adam Sally Christina and Fallon with terms that expire uh Adam and Sally you if you were to elect to be reappointed and successful in that you would be re appointed to a three-year term as regular members and Christina and Fallon are first and second alternate respectively they would be if they were reappointed reappointed to uh one-year terms the both of them um uh Adam and Sally you are here are you are interested in um continuing your membership on the committee yes I have and I let Donna know all right fantastic um there will also be election uh we'll also do reorg meeting in January at our next meeting uh to elect a new chair and vice chair um I'm happy to continue in the position but if there is feeling that I have been insufficient in some way I'm happy to also step down um uh just putting that out there um action items so just so you know so that will happen at the count at the township committee reorganization meeting they will no we um we elect from um no no I'm sorry the the yeah the reappoints will either reappointments or whatever happen at it is up to the township committee uh the newly sworn Township Committee in January to do what they will but that'll happen at that meeting and then our next meeting will be our reord meeting when we we elect a new or continue with ours um all right action items let me see here we've got the capital budget request so are we clear on what money that can everything you we are asking you to ask for it's really just yes yes when I when I when I get that information I'll be able to I know what we have in the bud the capital budget right now I'll I'll just and know add a little fluff to it so just be sure we get it done all right um Sally you were going to stay in touch with the EC on the wildlife sence yes I plan on attending the next EC meeting which is on January 21st I believe it's a Tuesday because of a holiday on that Monday I presume um since that is their initiative that they will handle um securing any approval from the township committee that might be necessary on their and um for what for the for the signage Wildlife signage yeah I mean I don't I don't know but I I assume that they'll figure it out so do you think that EC should go before TC before they I I know I I don't know but I just um I think that we don't have to do that because EC will figure out if they need to and then do it or not do it okay um we're also going to keep our lines of communications open I'm not sure this an agenda item or an action item but we wanted to keep uh an eye on the trail maintenance Day idea and the dog offleash area idea I don't think that is an action item actually um but that is something we want to keep an eye on going forward uh I will actually reach out to shade tree about a plantings for the memorial in U milstone Park as you are going to uh um Supply that information to Ken right um and we also are going to be this is again not an action item but we're going to be on the lookout for um any further communication from the Helen Cody foundation on um on more details on the sculpture and plaque proposal uh I don't think there are any other agenda items today um anyone else have not agenda items action items does anyone else have an action item well just to come up with any more ideas for the circle procurement area in Village Park all right um moving on from new business to public comment um there's a there's um anyone's welcome to comment there's a three minute limit are there any members of the public who wish to comment please come up there's nobody here we're going to move we're going to close public comment um and um if there's nothing else I will entertain a motion to adjourn we need we would need a first and a second for that motion to adjourn is there a second I'll second all right um we don't need a vote on adjournment right we don't need a vote on adjournment we are adjourned thank you folks sound did like you were an auction at the end what
