Rutherford school district Rich there are not many words that can adequately capture your impact on East Rutherford generations of students have come through these doors and come out of it better because you are helping guide the ship they've raised families grown up and for some of us become board members and local government officials you sacrificed your time effort and probably some of your sanity to help better the students of East Rutherford as you leave behind all of this craziness I hope you're able to take a moment to reflect on all you've done for this town you are a fixture of East Rutherford education and we are grateful for your stewardship Mrs Varan I want to thank you for all you've sacrificed over the past 37 years in one of our recent car rides rich and I discussed the sacrifice a family has to make for someone to join and stay on a board you shared rich with East Rutherford and I cannot imagine how many long days and nights that encompassed on behalf of the might have been the other way around you got to have the last uh conversation with me I've been lucky enough to receive his advice and listen to stories from Rich bounce ideas off him and learn history from someone who has who is a wealth of knowledge these car rides started with discussions on education and school boards but Mor to discussions about family and fatherhood after my wife and I welcomed Amanda conversations about sacrifice about priorities about life I am truly truly appreciative of those car rides and we'll miss them dearly you've been an amazing mentor and friend and thank point so I knew Rich all through high school um how better prepared could you be to be a school board member than Rich if you really look at it he served as a teacher he served as an administrator he's a taxpayer he knows the finances in and out you couldn't have got a better school board member than rich and you know look looking at all the new members coming aboard or any of these members that are here if anybody ever has any questions I mean I've been down to his house many times with his Hospitality he would be more than willing to help you out with any questions and uh his knowledge but all in all I couldn't have done this without you and my daughter Paul and two of my grandsons Nicholas and athon and a lot of people here that have become not only you know sitting with me but they beone they became step by step more and more in this town for many many years and I I I appreciate it uh Orville all I got to say is you knew you knew it was all in just I know that we we talked about it many many times when you drove me home I uh I I I I love what I did uh to me teaching is not a job teaching is a career teaching is something that's more important and no body that has not taught can never really truly understand what it means uh and I I was very lucky I didn't have to teach the young ones God bless you teachers that young I could never done that that's not my style I needed the Juniors and seniors in high school so I could kick them in the head a couple of times you know and nobody would say anything but uh I'm leaving it no this it was it was a beautiful ride it really was and I enjoyed every minute of it and I enjoyed it every minute being on the board because I've been with a lot of really good people and that's the main thing it was many many years and many many many not fights we didn't fight we argued but after it was all over we came out and we said what was really best for the children that was the most important thing and uh I'm I'm gonna give a farewell address because I I wanted to put it in writing and I don't know if she do it now do it later I'm on it I might as well because I told this is Rich do you want you don't like you want other people to to go before you or they can go before me oh absolutely this is the last farewell you know I because I gotta mentioned a few other people Soo especially the guy in the back yeah my buddy all people at home yeah hi everyone my name is adrana and um I'm here because I want to advocate for my kid um as the gentleman said education is very important so if you wanted to comment generally or about just just about rich there's gonna be a second portion General okay yeah yeah no problem no problem you can yeah I don't prepare or anything um I first met rich I believe it was at the Landmark pleasure of going Rich to um the Atlantic City conference a few times and no matter where you go with this man he knows people I mean restaurants in New Jersey we were in Atlantic City and people would stop and just start talking to him I'm like Rich do you know who that is I taught him x amount years ago I I'm like first of all the fact that he remembers it it's amazing I can't remember yesterday but I mean he's touched so many lives and all I could say is thank you for myself from everybody you're you're like a father figure and I will always love you and thank you for everything all right go for it rich I will no gavel I promise oh I'm gonna read something that has to do with my generation not your generation My Generation okay M and I think lari is going to love this because he's my generation too all right Born between 1925 to 1950 the best years to be born in the history of Earth and we got to experience it all thank God for all the times the adventures Wars one Tech technology developed Generations after future Generations will never experience what we did what a generation we turned out to be and for all the kids who survived the 1930s the 1940s and the 1950s you remember those days first we survived being born to mothers who may have smoked and or drank while they were pregnant they took aspirin ate blue cheese dressing Tuna from a can and didn't get tested for diabetes we had no childproof Lids on medicine bottles clocks on doors or cabinets and we were when we rode our bikes we had baseball caps not helmets on our heads as infants and children we would rideing cars with no car seats no boosters seats no seat belts no airbags ball tires and sometimes no brakes riding in the back of a pickup truck on a warm day was always a special treat we trank we drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle we shared one soft drink with four four friends from one bottle and no one actually died from this we ate cupcakes white bread real butter and bacon we drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar and we weren't overweight why because we always were outside playing that's why we would leave home in the morning and play all day as long as we were pack when a street lights were on soon as the street lights were on we were back in ass nobody had to tell us no one was able to reach us all day and we were okay we didn't have a phone every sir we would spend hours building our go-karts out of scraps and then ride them down the hill only to find out that we forgot about breaks after running into the bushes a few times we learned to solve that problem we did not have PlayStations Nintendo Xboxes there were no video video games no 150 channels on Cable no video movies or DVDs no surround sound or CDs no cell phones no personal computers no internet no chat rooms and see I'm sorry go yeah no here we had friends and we went outside and found them we fell out of trees got cut broke bones and lost teeth and there were no law suits from those accidents your lawyers didn't make a penny on us okay we would get spankings with Wooden Spoons switches pingpong paddles were just bare hand and no one would call Child Services to reort to report abuse we were given BB guns for our 10th birthday 22 rifles for our 12th Ro we rode horses made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it wouldn't happen nobody put their eyes out we rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on a door or rang the bell or just walked in and talk to them now here's little leag had triumphs and not everyone made the team those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment oh my God disappointment imagine that the idea of a parent Banning us out if we broke the law was unheard of they actually cided with the law these Generations have produced some of the best risk-takers problem solvers and inventors ever the past 60 to 85 years has seen an explosion of innovation and new ideas we had freedom and failure success responsibility and we learned how to deal with it the world don't care about your self-esteem and the world will expect you to accomplish something before you feel good about yourself and that's my generation Our Generation those days always always all right I I want just want to close this rich thank you again for all of your service andk thank you all for for coming to celebrate him thank you Mrs Varan as well and Mrs oler thank you so much for reaching out giving us list of people to contact to talk beete and everyone and we couldn't have done this and planned this out without you so thank you again we really appreciate it please eat crumb cake on the way out because I said I told Alex we're definitely going to eat crumb cake and there's like two pieces missing so he's going to be mad at me if you don't take Crum cake so all right yeah let's we're going to take a five minute break for everyone I I I know some of you may not want to uh keep and stay for the rest of the meeting I understand and that was actual call all right um first I need a motion to close to the public on the rich Varan all in favor all right School business administrator report Mr Roger thank you Mr President uh first I want to open up with the buildings and grounds and transportation report for December and this was as of December 11th districtwide we're continuing our routine work orders and emergencies annual boiler treatment was added into the boilers as required uh we did have a new codian start at Lincoln School and we're in the process of the Winter concert setups over at fa there was a section of a 3-inch galvanized waterline which I did see that needed to be replaced so I want to thank Mr abani for pointing that out and addressing that uh that problem before it became an even bigger problem uh transportation we did have a few absences due to medical and personal leave uh thankfully everything was covered by sending out a gen PL to the parents and lastly for transportation we have a permanently dis decommissioned bus that needs to be brought to the junkyard if I'm not mistaken I think right now uh DPW or the burrow is housing it somewhere if I'm not mistaken and the last thing and I'll have some good news and yeah some good I'm gonna get to that uh so as of December 11th there was something in reference to the switch gear uh was being housed at the DPW for the past two to three years years and the DPW needed the space and we were looking into options trying to sell it we weren't successful The Next Step was to go to U-Haul rent to space but I'm glad to say that as of today there is the walk-on resolution we did find a buyer for the switch gear after two or three years I Mr Jen CASRO and uh Mr coin could probably attest to that how long it's taken we've been done successful but uh we found a buyer so we're happy to report that uh excuse me yes uh do do we ever use gov deals or we did but no lu with that horrible y okay thanks yeah we tried multiple times yes but thank you for asking uh for the next thing with buildings and grounds is we do have a date for our qac physical facilities walk through it benefits and prescription for November that cost was $223,000 $277 Food Service fund 60 4738 55 and the total of all those funds is 535,000 46 F2 is payroll our two payrolls for November for a total of 1,1 158,000 7242 uh F3 is the financial reports for November 2023 uh I'm happy to report that we are in in line with our Treasurer so we are up to schedule we're not behind and everything is in order F4 is the our transfers for the month of November 2023 our monthly transfers F5 this has to be done on a yearly basis uh on a calendar year basis is to renew our consultant Services agreement with Brown and Brown F6 is the approval of providers for Extraordinary services for 2324 uh what we needed to do here uh ladies and gentlemen of the board was to put a not to exceed amount for learn well and advancing opportunities F7 is the approval to amend an out of District tuition for 2324 this was approved back in May of this year the reason was it was amended is that the student had a can I say they had a one can I say no the there was an amendment to the contract so we had to memorialize that the contract was being amended with new beginnings and f8 uh it this is to amend I'm sorry yes to amend the contractor Services there was not an uh not to exceed amount for southberg and jointure to provide us uh Physical Therapy Services so that is something that was uh not approved of back in February 23rd of this year so I'm asking that the board go we are amending it to include the not to exceed amount that's all we are that's the only amendment to it and then the last few things are the addendum items PF 2A uh this is a use of facility application it is for the east Rutherford Recreation indoor soccer practices at McKenzie uh school on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursdays from 6:30 to 9: pf3 a this is the approval contingency allowances for C Dy which is the boiler replacement project at McKenzie and yes stop go so we're getting we're getting close we're almost there almost there uh p uh f9a we had to amend the renewal agreement with Kelly Services that's our substitute company the reason why is because the minimum wage in New Jersey is going to increase January 1 to $153 we had a contract for $15 so therefore we needed to amend the substitute power professional hourly rates so we would be in compliance with state law and last is F10 a we are having an we are going to go out for an RFP for nursing services to school students and the reason why ladies and gentlemen is because I foresee and project that we are going to go over to 44,000 and if that's the case we need to have an RFP for for those uh purposes the ad will run tomorrow the uh potential vendors have two weeks to submit their information and what I'm looking to do with the board's blessing is to approve the vendor as of January of 24 and if anyone has any questions does anyone have any questions comments yep no you're good one I don't want to slow this down but quick one the Brown and Brown what do they do for us they are our health benefits uh advisers but but what do they actually do they actually they look at the market they they work in our best interest to ensure that the rates that were given in the state employee health benefit program is what's best whether we should stay in the plan we should we go private so they advise us based on the rates that the state provides but we've been in the plan a long time right I mean are we ever moving out of it do we need this every year yes I would highly recommend okay because they act in our best interest because uh I can only tell you from my prior uh District that was this was something that was needed and they do act in the best uh in the best interest of the district to try to save us money I have been in contact with with them a few times and they answer a lot of questions they may have questions about insurance that the business office we are we are not insurance agents and they they help outside of just just okay they they've been helpful with that thank you you're welcome Tom they also we'll consult with them on in the negotiations too and see like what's going on and those types of things this year wasn't really you know there wasn't a lot happening in that Arena this year you know except for the big increase the market yeah and they do get involved in specific employee questions I think sometimes too have over the years so the business office we don't want to misguide our employees and give them the wrong information so when we don't know regardless it even if I know the answer I always reach out to Brown and Brown to get a definitive answer and relay that information to our employees thank you you're welcome and uh there's no other questions that that is my report Mr President all right thank you Mr Roch superintendent report Mr Jan CASRO thank you Mr seini so today uh to date McKenzie school 372 students down one student fou School 233 students uh steady and Lincoln School 153 also steady at uh 757 students districtwide down one student um all the fire drills for the month of December and evacuation drills were done according to any mandates um we have two HIV investigations um one confirmed Hib one non-confirmed Hib we'll discuss that in executive session uh we're finalizing as Mr verrai has said regarding referendum closeout materials um with the guidance of our legal department uh we're going to be meeting with thco to finalize all different uh all um payments that need to be done um and move from there hopefully we can meet with them next week uh we're anticipating A Tuesday meeting so hopefully we'll get some a little bit more feedback for next month and we can say that we totally closed out um as cusac preparations is ready for February 12th as Mr vachi said our walkthrough is going to be on December 21st uh we walked along with Mr vachi and Mr abani uh going through with the building principal all of the nooks and crannies of every one of our buildings to make sure that we are in compliance um I was very impressed with the work that the teachers have been doing um as well as the administrative team working really hard to make sure that we stay high performing here in East Rutherford uh moving right along uh what in the area of Technology our information security program plan is continuing for the next three years our e- rate purchasing discussions for the 24-25 school year is underway so we can get the best rate we possibly can that will support our technological infrastructure um currently right now our servers and networking upgrades have been completed uh through the federal e- rate program for the 23 24 school year uh and we are currently looking at we right now we have no before which is our program for our fishing campaign so that we're able to dodge goab any kind of any kind of situation where we're clicking on something and can cause a major Cyber attack so uh the the entire district is trained on what to look for what not to do um and we send out um campaigns periodically without the staff knowing not I got you kind of thing but just like making sure that we can secure it if they do make a mistake which is followed up with a comprehensive training of all staff um if they do click on something uh accidentally we uh do that and it also helps us with insurance too that we have a nobe mechanism in there or program to assist so that we don't have to go down that road uh let's see special okay under the special education business we have 135 students total up one student um out of District are six um from our original 26 students that were out of District um underneath the county update we have an Autism program quality indicators uh that are slightly changing you may know this uh for the 20 from 2004 they're looking at a fall training for all district um all district laas uh we're looking at improving discipline practices and we're looking at different Behavior Analysis um panels that are working out right now with the doe making sure that we are doing what we need to do um and trying to find school-based board certified Behavior as which are very very difficult to find as well as extremely expensive extremely expensive so uh we're looking at that um some other things that are coming down for special education online resources is the evaluation the um the IEP program kit that's been upgraded we're looking at preparations for the 23 24 access uh for alls or for elll students and our we our weda alternate access State assessment as well as looking at our dlms uh that's all I have for special ed um just so you know East Rutherford like we said is being cacked on February 12th but we also have our USDA Federal audit which is happening the next day so February 13 we're looking at that uh we are not worried we're doing a great job mashos is phenomenal um they work hand inand with us uh we're looking at comprehensive administrative reviews so that we're prepared for that audit and then we were just notified about our special education audit so East Rutherford is being evaluated there as well so this is an A year of assessment um but I will tell you I I have to say publicly that our teachers are nothing but the best um my administrative team so helpful um I want to publicly thank um Mr verrai and also Mr uh imio Deandrea uh we just went through our financial audit and we are sound uh no new repeats uh we're going to be we're going to be presenting that um in January I believe Mr harachi Right January uh really the board is going to be extremely proud of the hard work that everybody has put in and I I couldn't lead a better team so I mean it's really been great uh kudos to Jeff Bliss and his team um not only are they Auditors but they're a firm that really helps School us like teaches us what we need to do making these projections and and try this and try that don't do this don't do that it's just a great partnership that we have here in East Rutherford and we as an administrative team learn so much um from them and are the dos and don'ts so I I want to publicly thank them uh that's the end of my report I'm going under the underneath curriculum see public okay okay so underneath curriculum um these are different locations for that we are having trainings um and then some Clash trips that we have the Kalahari Resort for our eth grade trip uh we are approving CBI Community Based instruction in these areas here I will tell you that our our community based instruction is second to none uh I want to publicly thank the principes um as well as Dr King Dobson uh with this I'm really doing a great job uh we just heard from one of uh Mr vero's um administrative assistants Mrs Baron that she was down in Linhurst at the dollar store down there and she heard a couple of people over talk speaking about the Wildcats that are coming from East Rutherford how disciplined how wonderful they were and they it was just so great so she was like actually sh said well I work in N fford so it was just nice to hear something about our students that we are doing such a great job and well received by another Community like Linhurst so I I kudos to the entire team so really really very very impressed underneath Personnel we're approving this evening our Kelly substitute like we normally do each every month we do have our um replacement extension of our first grade and fourth grade replacement it's going to be an extension our leave of absence there is again medical leave and extended maternity leave replacement um again all contractual then we have our program coordinator which we have for our After School academic program which we already have this is just an extension to that which is our Title One monies I know Maria that would be I know a question that you usually ask and I appreciate those questions that you asked and Tom as well so thank you for asking these important questions uh that's Title One funds uh that come out not from the from the taxpayer there was a title one so that's something that we pride ourselves in um going down to community relations I want to publicly thank Mrs laruso putting a flame under me um and working with me on uh working with a resignation um um she was very instrumental in bringing stuff that's happening in other districts we looked at it um just some concerns about what we're doing but it's not mandatory uh that's one of the things that I got from legal from St SM as well as Mr uh coin's office we can't mandate that they take it but it's nice to give us a lot of times people that leave the district they leave for like traveling or their spouse is going somewhere else or they just want to go out of the profession altogether right but at least this will help us to figure out like why people are leaving and maybe to look back and make make it more of a reflective measure that what we can do here in the district so thank you board uh for assisting me and and guiding guiding us on that so I thank you Mr Russo CR2 this is the waving uh from a two read to a single read and this is our policy for our code of conduct every nothing has changed in it the only thing that we did is we implemented a table uh which aligns with our restorative justice practices that they're aligned to all infractions um so really a really great job I want to publicly thank Mrs um Mrs barali and her middle school team who actually spearheaded this and we're going to be trickling it down to Lincoln and foul school um a lot of great work that our Educators have done uh Dum items I just have the Clash trip c1a those are some additions uh that were there that we put in there um one of the things that we just recently put on I think Mrs Baron had sent that out was the Community Food Bank because if we had to wait until January all the food would rot so we would have to make sure that that stuff would be able to get that out right away so that's why you're approving that last minute thing so my apologies of doing that to you last minute um and that's really all I have Mr President perfect any questions for Mr Jan CASRO do Mr President um I know we talked about these which number okay I'm sorry um the c1a approval of student field trip some Transportation request let me get there one second C1 field trip C1 C1 C 1.1 the ones uh the community based instruction those oh yes okay so did these already happen this here um requested by these these aren't the actual dates these is the date of request the reason why we don't put the actual dates because security we don't want the public to know when our students are out no the reason these just request dates these are just the re remember when talked about we don't want to I personally don't want to approve a field trip after after it's happened correct correct I really don't want to do that UND now sometimes sometimes we will have that and I will let like President Bo president or even some of the board members know if there's something where it's something that we have to do and sometimes it comes in last minute I know I try to frown down upon that because I know that's the board's Direction and I follow that sometimes it's out of our control but I will say like nine out of ten times it's you know we we do it at we we do it before we don't do it after absolutely okay yeah we actually had a back and forth even with the physical facilities with the school um with them using the in school well technically we approved it for the first the eth right right we have a rain date didn't have the rain date so was like a combination of look next time please book both dates let us know right right but obviously for the town we want to do right by the town we want to approve it and just get it done so we had a conversation and even Mr r and i and m and I we had we had a conversation of okay can we just do that and retroactively approve it and you know because otherwise they wouldn't have been able to use like it's goal well it's something we have been trying a big and insurance wise we were okay we did check with insurance to make sure that we were covered and we would be covered um but again we we don't want to start a practice that's not good so I I totally respect your yeah absolutely 100% that that's a that's that's a concern right on right on the money something after it's happened agreed um the other thing is Mr G they're going to the playground at cake and Cone uh which one is it with number is that is it the addendum we're in the uh yeah we're still in the addendum yes they're going to yeah yeah playground cake playground SL Kake and con Kake and Cone right so there there playround Kake and Cone that's there they do like a whole program with them on how to order you more social skills that's what we're we're trying to instill actually go to cake and Cone and Cone correct correct correct when when you said the a lot of times a lot of these CBI um class trips is more social social aspects of things learning how to order how to take order you know certain things like that um how to work and uh with others in a group how to clean up after yourself there's a lot because we have our whole life skills program too where we have that where we have like a little kitchen area we have microwave we have like a little area how to clean up how to make a bed how to so a lot of that skill-based stuff is really important for instructional reasons thank you excellent question thank you any other questions for Mr Gan CASRO okay thank you Mr Jean CASRO um now I'm going to open to the hearing of citizens uh because we have been going for so long I'll open to any comment not just agenda item only so opening public comments on any item please address the board president each person wishing to speak will have five minutes each anyone wishing to speak will be given the opportunity to do so please state your name and sign in just thank you hi everyone thank you um my name is Adana I have twin boys Mato and Lucas and they attend uh McKenzie they're in kindergarten um I do have one of the twins that does have behavioral issues um he's um testing him for on this for possible autism spectrum and for ADHD um prior to him starting to kindergarten I've been very vocal with the children's study team to inform them of the struggles that Mato had so come kindergarten we can work together and it could be an easy adjust um that was November of 2022 fast forward he started kindergarten um he has been struggling significantly um he's consistently getting suspended getting four days suspensions um I was told about a modified schedule of 11:05 pickup I told them my concerns that POS what can you really learn in two three hours um I was told I had no other option so we finally agreed to it um but I just want my voice to be heard because because I don't feel like he's receiving the right education um I feel like as much as they're saying that they're trying to help me to come up with the plan um I don't feel that way especially being forced to have this 1105 pickup um and unfortunately my Advocate couldn't be here today um but I'm extremely upset about an incident that occurred yesterday um I know he was in a crisis mode um but he was dropped on his head and no one informed me of this incident I was informed by my 5-year-old son um he fell on his head um during I guess a restriction that someone me may have tried picking him up and during that he might have been restricting back and he fell on his head had he not told me and I would have put him to nap who knows what could have happened so I just really want my voice to be heard I want answers and I really just want people to work with me um because not only is this 11:05 pickup affecting my family's Finance but it's also affecting his twin brother Lucas um so if I can just please be heard and please work with me because I really do not want to get an educational attorney um so if you guys can please work with me I would highly appreciate that thank you thank you so much for your comment any other anything all right see seeing approval of con allowances and pf4 approval of District use fa application Amendment from 10923 I have a second second any questions or comments so so what happened is we had approved in the October meeting um for the civic pride the sford civic pride uh for the tree lighting and then they also used Lincoln school for like a vendors so what happened is that was approved for December 1 but December 1st they had a rain out they pushed it to December 8th but we had only really approved December 1st so we you know yeah yeah I just had a quick comment I just didn't know I saw some of the dates for the boys and girls basketball games overlaps with some of the wreck basketball practices so I just wanted to make sure that was communicated to wreck that there's games that night for the f team so that their both don't show up I do know that Mrs Baron looks at it and makes sure that there's no you know double booking kind of thing but we could I'll just make a note maybe just to check one more time if that's the case then obviously our students get priorities and she actually we did have a conversation she did reach out to rec and say there is a conflict so our students would take priority correct there's you sayar yeah but there are some things that you didn't expect at the beginning and they take priority over of course yeah yeah yeah I just wanted to make sure that both team W yeah that yeah that we didn't have kids showing up for wreck practice and yeah we did relay with the uh coordinator director we did inform him of that yeah all right any other questions comments disability oh learn well and advancing opportunities are not right they they are there suffer like communication and um like bedside instruction things like that yes it's changed something else yeah yeah yeah no it is yeah we have an expert we have a yeah she yeah yeah that's what she yeah okay any other questions or comments now roll call okay Mr Banker yes Miss Caruso yes Miss colie yes to all but I'm going to abstain from F1 check number 0311 96 03 one the one that's the one that's addressed to her yeah we go exactly okay Miss laruso yes but I have to abstain from F1 check number 0 31225 yeah okay okay yes to everything else right yes everything okay Miss shley Mr Varan yes Mr seini unfortunately I do not have to abstain from a lovely check from AC uh so yes keeping it interesting I would ask you to repeat that check number later uh then items can I get a motion for the following items c1a approval of student field trips and transportation requests for the 2023 2024 school year PF 2A approval of the district use of facilities application PF 3A approval of contingency allowances f9a approval to amend the renewal agreement with Kelly Services Inc for the 2023 2024 school year F6 approved at the 1192 23 board eved meeting an f10a approval for the school business administrator to send out requests for proposal for nursing services to school students so moved I a second yes yeah we were G because you because yeah rich brought this up months ago and I know we talked we actually increased the rate that we pay Kelly it's been much better but yeah is rates is it better than having yeah is it a much better system for the money the the reason why it's good Mr V is because without it we couldn't find sub enough substitutes so we were doing it in-house and then we have to worry about if you have a substitute for more than 20 days and somebody misses it then you have to put them on the first step of the guide of the teachers guide so that was and it's really like checks and balances for us and since the board had given me the power to move forward with increasing the rate our fill rate has been much much better we had a second did yes years ago he did a great job that we just can't we just can't find even even some of these these substitute companies are finding very very difficult to recruit uh viable uh substitutes and even sometimes when they do come if we're hearing something from the step that they're not so good we don't call them back again so but the way they're paying substitutes to change per day they want that I'm just listen we we we entertain it we definitely want more the marrier so if you know people that are looking and we go to Kelly education please apply with Kelly education we will take you so we don't hold back on that because we we Embrace that we need subs absolutely I like to see Subs a good job yeah and we have many of them that do a really good job sure yeah oh absolutely we've had that happen we've had thaten we people yeah any other questions or comments right correct value that's the two well yeah and they know the school district they know this you know that ins and outs 100 perc 100% okay so just just to piggyback a little bit on sport in um so they are coming in these Subs correct what I've been hearing that teachers are still having cover some classes specifically no teachers are still usually Subs aren in around I am having an administrative core meeting tomorrow and usually I'm the first to hear it from the building princi like I can't get coverage Mr G what am I gonna do coverage I have not to be honest with the board I have not had one principal come to me tell me that they're lacking coverage that I'm aware of I mean I don't know you know if the person that you're that's speaking to you if you can send them my way so I can have that conversation with them I would really appreciate because maybe I'm missing it persons persons persons that are saying they're still we're using this Kelly substitute these are teachers when you're saying persons no no they're not okay I don't know uh okay maybe we can maybe we can do this we've we've increased the rate for six months now yeah doing pretty good can we do can but we should be able to look at a percentage of our fill rate5 six month well we we have a three- Monon sample I guess because we did over summer can we just get the three-month sample of the of it'll be for January so we'll get uh September October November December four months September October yeah November and December and December right because it'll be in January the next meeting um we'll see the fill rate we'll compare it to let me see if I can try to get September October November December from the year before so something to compare yeah sure yeah let's do yeah straight comp would be great yeah and then we'll just do a comparison over time and we'll be able to see yeah Y no problem numbers don't lie well of course I'm I'm all in no yeah and if we're using a service we should be able to almost do our own internal audit of is this effective we made we we felt like it wasn't being effective we raised the rate and now let's see if if that's still not effective then maybe it's something else so right cool good all right uh any other questions comments on the addendum items I'm gonna separate out the walk on because we still have a walkon item that we need yeah so I'll separate that out all right uh seeing none roll call Mr Banker yes Miss guso yes Miss colie so yes to all but I'm gonna recuse myself from pf2 a point1 there yeah f2a point1 poor guys's gonna get carpal [Laughter] tunnel Miss laruso oh they just they just love me yeah really really I will re yes to everything um but I have to recuse from pf2 a 0.1 yes okay okay Chinese men oh man that could have got so wrong Miss shley yes yes you are Mr Varan yes my favorite too Mr seini yes all right one last thing we have a walk- on item which is its Finance right yes f11a yeah this would be f11a it is uh Mr R already talked about it it's the approval of the sale of the switch gear yes so can I get a motion to approve f11a moved okay a second second all right roll call Mr Banker yes Miss Caruso yes Miss colie yes Miss laruso yes Miss shamley yes Mr Varan Mr segalini yes any old business uh I just want to thank again Mr tanel um for both and and the and the that like they it actually was warmer in the allpurpose room because there were so many parents and everyone was engaged it was it was it was a really really great event so I I mean I I've said it before to the board and I know B and I talk about all the time M Mr tanell has been nothing short of incredible um with all the stuff he does for the school district and we really appreciate it all right and I I also want to piggy back on that that event the the induction was wonderful it really it was a wonderful wonderful and I heard van s Park was just y another good one all right any new
