50 tables of from the high school to the Middle School to the element from the elementary school all participating and that's 50 tables from the school district right plus others uh vendors and crafters and food trucks all right so we're planning for that if you'd like to be there um to um sell anything show off anything let us know all right we're going to celebrate some great things that are going on and we'll begin with our mock trial team and I believe Mr Maron is here with his students and they are recipients of the national federal judges Association engaged The Citizen Award and Michael is going to explain more more what that is and I know you have some medals and I have some certificates so first certificate I will present you superintendence award uh that recognized for being outstanding achievement of the mo trial team adviser and winning this national federal judges Association engaged Citizen Award all right so [Applause] congratulations righty out spilling um so the mck trial team um we meet from September really to February we have a team of about 25 to 30 students we practice Tuesdays Wednesdays Thursdays sometimes on the weekends um what these students do is pretty remarkable uh we compete um at the Atlanta County competition and our seniors graduating this year in their four-year career had a 14 and4 record uh pretty impressive and our alumni have gone on to do some pretty amazing things um Mr sappy current alumni we've had alumni at attend all of our Ivy Leagues and we have currently our first alumni uh going to Harvard Law School so the federal judges Association is it's a national award students have to take um the citizenship test and score above a 90 and they also have to demonstrate evidence of Civic engagement through their Community mock trial or their alab or AP government programs uh so the federal judges Association has presented these medals um and I will just call up um in order of and a class rank we'll do freshman first if that's okay that's okay they're also going to get superintendent award yes all right so we have from the freshman class we have uh Anna mitnik and gjan nag okay [Applause] uh it's impressive uh collection of students here so thank you Dr thank you congratulations Mr Marone and students uh we're very proud of you uh following your passion and I know you're going to make us proud in the future seniors congratulations and best wishes on your graduation photosh have to go just some highlights with um this Fernwood track and field they are record Breakers so they broke a 2007 record but they for by 200 relay team so I just want to shout out out to these young men who uh run really fast all right also some uh recognition for the spring season of 2024 we have Cape Atlantic league league champions from the softball team Cape Atlantic League champions boys track and field uh boys volleyball and girls of varsity lacrosse it's pretty impressive Every Spring team made the New Jersey state tournament it tells you a little bit about our athletes they and our coaches the time they put in after hours after school um for egg har Township High School so we appreciate that so tonight why we recognize um those teams tonight we have two teams that um are unique and special um the first one and I'm going to call up the athletic directors both of you can come on up one of you whatever um girls flag football it's a new sport um it's begins on the Club level level it's supported by the Philadelphia Eagles and it's an initiative to get girls involved in football um and it has taken off with wings um it's Flying High um coach Cameron Bell come on up coach has led this team these ladies to the West Jersey football league American Division Champions and I had the um experience of traveling through Philadelphia to get to see them play um at the Eagles training camp um at the Nova Care Center so the opportunities that the ladies um have to participate in the program but also the accolades uh that they received from the Philadelphia Eagles and they're going to tell you more about it they get to meet Eagles and train and participate and have a game on their training facility so it was it was a great opportunity I'm I'm very proud that we're able to have this in our school district and I think it's great for the girls so here you go if I stole anything oh uh first of all um I'd just like to say congratulations to the girls here incredible season um I think this picture here is going to be something that's in our school hallways for quite some time this is the first season that we had going here and what a heck of a season it was I know uh in the beginning of the year Mr West met with myself and Miss Peron and we said hey let's get this grant in there let's get it let's reach out to the Eagles get this going miss Peron really hit the ground running because I know she plays flag herself um so she was super excited to get this thing rolling retire but we're all we can still do it if we need to um and obviously once we started going through that process we put out there for our coaches to apply um and I and I can't tell you how excited both myself Miss prone were when when Mr Bell reached out um I had to bring him in and kind of say coach you you're volunteer for the track team you're there you have your sons who are committed to our our band to our uh to basketball you're running around there said are you going to have time to do this he said coach I'll figure it out um and he sure as heck did and and we couldn't be more excited for him because if anyone knows anything about this gentleman he does not do anything halfway uh you know he goes he goes 100% for the kids and and even at the end of this season um you know he came out to me he was a little emotional and you know he said these kids just mean so much to me because I know he's known you for so long all right um but again congratulations and uh we look forward to the rest of you coming back the ones that are graduating we're sincerely going to miss you um and we hope next year when uh you know when the um when Jaylen Herz is talking Briel we're talking about a game-winning touchdown instead of just an awesome touchdown uh because that was that was pretty neat experience oh yes sorry so um this was a pilot for us um but next year the njsa is going to make this a pilot for the entire State um then the following year of course if everything goes well um it's going to be an njsa sport uh so it's in in hopefully in three years or two years two more seasons we're going to have this as a full-on fledge on Sport with state playoffs um and right now uh there's a couple ads throughout South Jersey that have really taken this on um to to make sure that this is the best experience possible with schedules and everything else um but soon enough the states could be taking this over uh so we we're excited to be ahead of the game um where you know there's not a lot of schools out here that are still running it yet um but um just like Dr guci always says we want to be the first ones to it and I think uh that's going to be very important for us going through uh when this does become turn over to a sport for us I I feel like whenever I'm here I like I feel like I'm always repeating myself but I truly mean it like a lot of you know me here like a lot of you um and know like know what I feel about this town um the love the passion I have for EGA Township High School and the and the the students that go here their parents and everything and when I had the opportunity to coach this amazing group of young women I there was no chance I could pass that up and they they exceeded All my expectations and all the play the praise goes to them so give them another round of applause [Applause] please and I always went I just went and I always want to like I like I'm very thankful to work for the people that I work for and work with because you know sometimes you know I'm I'm I'm going to push right to that edge you know what I mean and then they always keep in the straight in the straight and narrow but they they're so supportive and I can't Dr gr I can't thank personally I can't thank you enough all the support over the years and I appreciate you all thank you got tell you the old coach of me I'm impressed they're all dressed so like good job so this presented to Cameron Bell recognized for demonstrating demonstrating outstanding coaching skills for the high school flag football [Applause] team the coach mine Baker come on up his assistant honors of calling up the girls each girl receives a superintendent certificate and honoring them for their achiev achievements this year and making us very proud of what you've done continue all right so I'll do um I'll go in order so first up Dei Diana H pan Journey green [Applause] Ryan [Applause] Newman Pantha Reed Daniela Ramirez heor Rooney P doce do Annie Reed Addie Lambert Colin precisely last but certainly not least Abby lion if we if we had more time like I'm I'm very respectful your right time I would like I I could have regaled you with stories of all of them particularly particularly of my seniors but I'm not going to do that because I would get emotional cuz I did the other night at the banquet but all I want to say girls thank you very much to my seniors go out there and be the rockar that your all I love you all thank you thank you coach B congratulations ladies I mean this is a real deal plays blocks a whole bit so they've learned a lot about the game of football um and they're making it happen as champions [Applause] all right next a girls varsity crew uh crew team our lightweight forbo um have received many accolades this year sraa national champions Garden State Champions Philadelphia city Champions Atlant County rowing Champions they're the toage of coach Dan Welsh come on up Dan down Dan's been involved in our crew program for many many years um and you know I'll have Mr Bret um explain how unique uh crew is to Athletics in the state of New Jersey and I know here in Egg Harbor Township we started off as a club team um but now uh we have a full-blown uh boys program and girls program supported greatly by their booster club and then now the board of education so um congratulations on your Champions championships and for your outstanding coaching skills for the high school girls creu tee so congratulations uh coach I'd just like to uh personally say thank you I know um you know I like to say that all Athletics are the same uh there's just you know different goals different scoring uh but when it came here I didn't have an experience with crew um when I got here and I picked your brain and now other ads are picking my brain I said said well you know what you first thing you need to do is hire Dan Welsh because what you guys do out there is incredible um and what I don't think everybody gets to see is the sincere time and commitment that goes into it for 12 months um when I look at it uh when I first got the experience with it it wasn't on the water it was in the hallways uh when I go upstairs I'm seeing about 40 girls that are just dripping with sweat working out for an hour and a half and they're they're getting after it and that Dedication that work uh to to get in the wait room to do everything you need to do for hours upon hours when there's nobody you're not racing against anybody you know you're doing that except for yourself and that kind of dedication and commitment is is second to enough um and I think that also is a resemblance of the culture that you guys have activated down there uh and it's something that I think is special so this is a consequence of all the things that you've done over the years I know you've been doing it quite a bit of quite a bit of time now I'm not going to say how many but um but again it's something that uh you know this doesn't happen overnight and I I think obviously you got to have the special student athletes you got to have the parents that are willing to drive them and pick them up and and do everything in between and that is sincerely appreciative on our side as well coach congratulations there we go thank you Mr Rage Miss pero Dr guio um and to the board of course for having us out tonight um the before I say anything I want to bring up my Varsity assistant who worked with this crew every single day and that is coach John Pope up please coach is the backbone of our of our girls program uh he does he maintains all our boats for us he he and uh you know he he created our weightlifting program our stretching program he does it all and and oh by the way he coaches a pretty good boat too so give that one to you um I would say this uh this season started a year ago uh at the metal ceremony at uh the Scholastic Nationals in Oakridge Tennessee so these girls uh just rode a heck of a race that day they got the silver medal um at that race and they got a taste of that uh going up on the stage um you know in in front of a few hundred people you know at that metal ceremony and and hearing the big crowd cheer for them and everything else and they dedicated themselves to getting in shape and Rowing on the water with Viking Rowing Club all of last summer then into the fall into the winter uh program as as Mr Rage alluded to um and right into the spring um and with that leadership that they showed they took with them our uh our our junior varsity boat that we put in second Varsity 4 race at snowberry they ended up winning it a silver medal at that and who was watching us the whole time but our freshman program who had an outstanding season winning themselves winning as state championship as Phil upy City Championship the Atlanta County championship and um you know they they just fed right off these five girls that I'm going to bring up um they by far were the leaders of our team this year and um you know our team uh just had a great great spring and it's to the credit of of these five young ladies so um if I could bring them up we'll start with with Talia denafo our coxen shirt and our shirt seat was Lily wikler and sitting behind Lily was uh Izzy Patel and unfortunately for the next girl she is M she's she's losing her teammates but fortunately for Coach Pope and I she is back next year our only Junior GI [Applause] Middleton and in the B seat was the newcomer to the boat and girl who helped get them over the over the top this year and that's Rachel [Applause] Kent I sure can so we have it had a great question posed uh for you for you rowing newcomers why is it called a a four when we have five people well the it gets the designation of four because we have four rowers meaning they have four ores the fifth person which is Talia is the coxen so uh that that's where we get the the term lightweight four from so if you so if you go ever go to a race and you see four plus it means four plus toxin so and then you'll see someone it Talia size uh hanging out with the the taller girls uh and bossing them around too so actually quite quite the job to have right T yeah okay uh coach Pope is there anything you want to say no he's good coach Hat's taking a spotlight away from from the girls so um I I'm going to turn it back over to Mr or Dr G you take your picture want to take a picture congratulations ladies a lot of hard work going into your success and we appreciate you roll away for EHT there you go okay thank you thank you girls thank you coach all right Board of Education student represent represent Representatives I can get it out um each year we have two students um from the high school now the process is an elected position capturing all the great things that go on uh in our district up in the TV studio working with the media Club working with Mr erbay U and his staff and Allan fills um a lot of roles and never really says a word except okay Rio there you go so Alan this is for you we appreciate everything that you do and I know Mr eray has a few words for you yeah I'm sure everyone knows Alan they see him here all the time but Allan's an EHD alumni here which is great but I think he's never left I mean I never left like he has a mattress at the high school or something you know or he's cloned himself because he seems to be doing so many events this week he's doing graduation he's filming that he's do helps with superintendence report he's pretty much at every summer event every winter event I mean the guy is everywhere I don't know when he takes time off but um he's so dedicated to the Tor so dedicated to school and he can't think of anyone more deserving of this word thank you Alan and also uh helps uh videotape as you know every year the administration creates a video and he is The Mastermind behind the video and he puts up with our uh poor acting skills let's put it that way so thank you again congratulations I'll let you know about the video thank you Alan back to the [Music] camera I just want to share some awesomeness here um and it's just because it was brought brought to my attention and I I just smile from ear to ear it's it's just so cool that our bus drivers are so awesome John Jamie Angel and BJ have hosted parties for their students on their bus Isn't that cool from pizza parties to ice cream meeting for ice cream um just above and beyond because they love their students and their students love them so I just want to recognize them for the extra efforts in putting smiles on uh children's faces and having parents feel um secure and comfortable with their students uh riding our buses so thank you appreciate that um speaking of everybody knows bus driver um it's a
