##VIDEO ID:MNG6q6sATbM## the record show that the meeting is being videotaped and will be posted to the city's YouTube account first item on the agenda is the minutes um Christine hasn't finished on yet so we'll table that for the next meeting uh next item on the agenda is na o business hearing none any new business okay Dan you update um so far the membership special has brought in 28 new members um I'm going to be using ad times from the trade out for the uh caddy card on wxl for that special um as well as our Columbus State for ball those should probably start running in about a week or so uh we had a junior Club Championship this year so we have about seven kids play um which is a good start awesome hos W that we ran a couple free clinics um and we'll kind of pick up in the springle that off try to keep that strong I thank all the volunteers that helped me do that okay how many kids you have in probably 20 20 20 to 25 the first one a little later on the second one so over two different clinics so um it was good good um I've got three new employees being processed for the golf shop um I'm expecting to lose probably a couple going into next spring um you know one one or two retirees and possibly a college kid or two so I'm trying to just kind of replace what I have there get them started in the fall when it slows down um get get accustom to the system and um be ready for the spring um the last thing um I've started to compile lists of our leagues that play up there um our tournaments that play up there our tournament request dates um kind of comparing them all on what they charge their League members um how supportive they are to the golf shop as far as prizes how supportive they are of of the restaurant um and and really what has brought this forth is that um one of the tournaments that requests at a date at the end of the year has now decided to not do their meal at Food colge course restaurant it's been a long standing tradition that they did their final Day meal up at the restaurant and their committee has decided to take it off site which obviously hurts um business not only the money that he would have brought in of the restaurant but um with them going offsite their 17 ttimes that they need block those 17 ttimes from people that possibly could support him after golf um so it's kind of twofold so I'm going to kind of create a spreadsheet with all of our events all of our tournaments all of our leagues um see who supports me and what amount in the golf shop and who supports the restaurant with um postevent meals um whether they do that or not um you know including the charity tournaments you know what they do for you know if they do the grill if they don't do the grill you know if it's required or not I know he has the grill out there all the time some tournaments are required yep U not required but they include it in there and some don't even he will still have the grill out there um my opinion is that this the situation that we are in right now with Tod up in the restaurant is a very good situation and absolutely no offense to you taking over for those 3 years um I think we're in trouble if he doesn't come back I really do we are because if we do not have a viable restaurant up there and it's going to be very difficult for him to to be replaced and if we don't replace him then it's only going to take two or three years for we to get around that you know we have the product of the golf course but we don't have anything auxiliary as far as food and beverage and that will hurt um so that that's my opinion so I'm going to create the spreadsheet see what's going on and and maybe we you know tweak things going into next year as far as you know the leagues that book times versus don't book times and and the and the charity tournaments and the meals and kind of try to help everybody out in this was this tournament that was added was that um when did they hold that during the week or no this is a this is a weekend uh end of the the year Gala day uh that plays every year up there in September it's not a new event it's an event that's been up there for probably 10 to 15 years and for the last 10 to 15 years they have held their post you know round meal upstairs um and stayed on site and the decision is made through through their committee to to take it off site [Music] so we don't know any reasons or anything uh what we've been told is that's the restaurant's not big enough for the same amount of people that have been up there for the last 10 or 15 years so whether it's saving money or wanting to support another social club in town um but yeah so that's just my opinion and I like I said I'll create a create a spreadsheet and pass all on to you guys to kind of kind of compare these you know to see who supports what you know versus you know Golf Course versus golf shop and in restaurant so I mean I've had probably two other leagues reach out to me wanting to come over from Westminster next year we're running out of room we really we really running out of leagues um so we got to kind of come up with some solution I think place is packed yeah it's ped to the to the gills sounds like a good problem to have yeah it is if we can support that guy like I guess what Danny is trying to say to translate is if you have 760 members there's no way to you can't really you can't really tweak enough things to force people to do it right it's more word of mouth it's more encouragement it's more an email saying basically without this operation you don't have an operation and it almost comes down to this single owner operating and running this place I mean if it's not worded properly and explained you know this is how this is how important it is if you don't have a liquor license on that like I could bring in a food truck next year a few wants to you have no liquor license what do you you going to do right you're just going to watch guys bring in 12 packs they do that now yeah but it's it's under the guys there's actually alcohol being sold on the property like there's a liquor license on sorry go now what I was going to say too is I mean I mean he even has a leak so he has his own leak and even maybe 30% of those members come upstairs the rest of them don't he says one of his biggest challenges on Saturdays and Sundays as obviously a setup with our membership the members get priority tea times right we get one day in advance you guys get one day in advance so Saturday and Sunday mornings are all members different so he does not see a time of money come through until 300 p.m. because 99% of those members it's probably a high number a large percentage of those members do not go up and support it so he makes no money Saturday late morning we've talked a lot he and when the T she is full of non-members he does very well up there he has bigger percentage of those customers golf customers are apt to go out and again you can't force our members to to spend a dime out there I get it and the same thing in the golf shop it's the same situation it is what it is I think that well very true I think you have a clientele of golfers up there playing on Saturday Sunday morning who do not go up there and drink beer in the morning either it's not that they don't go and support it and they always don't go and support it that's just not what they do um that's what you can see a lot of members up there guys are up there to play golf but out there having beers at 10:00 in the morning um the other side I'm thinking about this and this with to up there it's great have a spot up there however whether whenever to SI of stop this is a problem that's going to continue having that spot up there it is a tiny spot it's a house from 1772 it's not designed to be a restaurant we do need to think about getting a plan in front of on the capital Improvement plan what the future of a restaurant one building possibility is to at least have something out there that could be Grant funded or something that's on vile in order to us get funding for that's the next step whether it happens in 5 years 10 years 20 years that is going to have to be the future that someone else is going to want to run that up there not going to run um events you know after things having coming after tournaments like the police tournament like well all those other tournaments they don't we don't have the F ability to handle that function we had something there to handle that it would obviously be a great boom to them correct and that that would be a required too and then would be required um and I know that's not a fix for next year but that is something we need to think about having a fix for at some point in the future um or we may come to a point where we don't have someone who wants to run up there because it's not viable hardw Crossing n hole golf course they build a new facility I mean they're busy the restaurant does Hardway Crossing it's a n hole in hardw Mass used to be a hole the ground ran yeah done Roman yeah the first open last to close yeah oh I had kicked the tires in this before and I did again this morning talking to someone who's on Capal Improvement plan and going to try and go forward with getting something awesome getting something on there at least at some point be a I mean maybe address this um and of course we have another um source of Revenue uh coming in as well um and again possibly we can whoever with the course that's a different question but you who runs it that so something need to be looked at where we can build it so what can we do to uh one deter outside alcohol on the golf course I mean I I would literally you know see people walking up with coolers now I remember back a couple years ago and says hey somebody's got a cooler and we don't have a no cooler policy get no alcohol policy more likely people bringing their own alcohol into a liquor area which again I can't bring a bottle into restaurant here in Gardner a social club set on the bar pop it open and start drinking it unless I bought it there right so can we put signage up that says it's it's unlawful on the first day still there m m general laws right there we have Mass General law on first day yeah you just can't open you can't ask people to open their door so like you said got water here okay mean you can give out as many as many rules as you want right right you're still not going to follow yeah what we will do en Force right I mean I mean we see golf carts everywhere I mean I got one I had one on Saturday I told him to move his guy he's right next to the green he's he's right on the Fring all the time all it's a guy that plays golf there all the time yeah and he you know he acknowledg I was too close I said why don't you go up there so all right yeah so yeah yeah once I get a she on kind of look at and say all right what do do we you know do we change things with the leagues do we change things with the tournaments do we change things with the social clubs that come in use the golf course you know do you know something to think about um whether is do we set a requirement on AB or C you know regardless um you know I know there's a there's a $5 requirement for the golf shop most clubs are very supportive with the golf shop with that amount that $5 amount has also been in there since Mike was around you know so that's also that's also age not that you want to require something to do more than that most most clubs do do more than that per head um again you look at mark on my stuff you know it's kind of asking around see who so you know as far as asking me to do things for tournaments you know versus what they do for support um in different clubs or different you know you'll see a good a different difference in everybody you know as far as that goes but you know it's something I think we need to look at you know in one you know here it is this is what we get out of this is what the golf shop gets out of this is what the restaurant gets out of um and and kind of kind of see a Tren you know see there any Trends and and maybe maybe you tweak it a little bit as far as you know the the weekend requests or the charity ter requests um you know I've talked to Todd you know a lot of the last three years and you know you know we have these bigger tournaments that come in that tend to be a little roudi than others you know we have he to you I'm not going to put words in his mouth but you know paraphrasing he's he's more comfortable with those events that come in that are Rowdy if there's a requirement to eat off the grill because they have food they have food in their stomach and he it I think he thinks that's a protection of his liquid license that it should bring down the level a little bit you know that and everybody's not just run around on drinks they re that ticket 95% of the people are going to go eat off the grill I'm pretty sure that to have a liqu license one of those conditions anywhere that with this liquid license you have to offer food so obviously the Commonwealth feels that way too yeah that it that's it um we talked about briefly before but the uh Pump House situation I met with the engineer um and the subcontractor is going to be doing the excavation work um everybody put eyes on the project so it looks like it's still going to be good for whenever we're done using sprinklers um november-ish so that should be uh that should be rolling right around um 5 weeks or so a little over a month we're aiting greens so um it's coming quick you can see the leaves turning it's going to be Leaf season and uh we're looking forward to it that's about it any you have any questions for Bill so the green irration un events calendar it shows like October 15th so always the Tuesday after the four ball after the four okay Tuesday 3 four yeah I think I put it through the Friday I maybe last year he might Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday all weather depending it's weather we weather changes that try to get that last tournament done and then have at it you'll be looking for volunteers to help absolutely and we're also looking for for specifically golfers but I'm looking for retirees um who want to do retire type work cut cups do setup things like that um if they want to work weekends they can work weekends if they want to work five hours they can work five hours um so we're starting to turn over some guys so spread the word but it's usually enticing because they get to play a little bit of golf minimum wage usually doesn't bring them in I have a question shoot on hole number three and 16 um there is still a sign on three that says to call the people on if you're on the green however on 16 I don't believe there's a sign there anymore should there used to be was there one think got a good sign Department you guys want to back up do you want to back up well someone just asked me if we're still supposed to call people on on the third 16th I says well we have a sign on the 3D but nothing on the 16th but it is on do you guys want one on the 16th I think it's on the 16 I didn't see it on the trash so it's it's up to I can't hit 16 so I up any I can't hit it either but it would be good to know what what the expectation is it's something I guess people who played there long I never notice the sign was gone just something you do look to see okay hit or they not there yet that's how long it's been yeah no one's brought that up to me been you're 15 years someone just asked 16 is really long let's put them out 7 3 and 16 thank you you got it that's easy we're still on equipment though say it again are you still waiting on equipment just that one John de Gator yeah he said 8 to 10 weeks but I think it's been what four three almost a month yeah just it's been paid just that one piece yep all right chairman comments you anything Paul uh know nothing what what we discussed thank you an um well I I have a question regarding I guess there was an emergency situation a few weeks ago and um are are employees required to um be trained on CPR using there's no requirement right now um I've got I've talked to Josh uh for for thank you um about purchasing a new our our AED is old yeah it's probably 20 years old're we're going to get a new one um at that point I'll look around for training there is no requirement for employees at this point um but I think it's something that we should probably offer um Tod probably has to have them for the food for the restaurant and a2o or just training like I don't know what he has um I'll mention was at one point training myself but I might be out of uh my two or three years might be up at this point but yeah Josh is looking at to getting a new a and depending on the price I just straight out purchase it I don't think it's going to need to go out the bid I think it might be it's only if it's over what 10,000,000 it's in general it's a good idea to have them do it anyway staff like it's your staff like T off they don't know what to do it it gives them some guidance so it might that's that's what brought it up thank you that that situation on six was not a CPR a situation um it was phone call well that's they tell you there that that's like what you do first like instead of you know I want to try to do trest compressions right away it gives you a path to take yeah something that we can put you know get everybody trained CPR anded we should just do it at the end of the year we'll call the fire department those guys know they host those classes yeah pay everybody for the day and send them over yeah we had somebody from PD and Gardner come to the fishing gun club one year trained bartenders I it might not be a bad thing to open up to the members too you might have half a dozen members that want to take advantage of it and for the most part is there like a senior person in the Pro Shop that could handle emergency situation depends who's working the time cuz I know there's you know some some kids get some you know ad everybody you know we trained every they get trained perhaps going forward we should try to I don't know if you can schedule have I try not to I try not to go kids all at once but right every now and then some of those kids though they their lifeguards over at you know great wge and they are on top of it [Music] yeah and I just have uh clean um with the new cards is is there any procedure that we clean the carts like once a year or once a month or uh we wash them every two weeks when we gas them up week and a half we wash underneath everything so every time they get gassed up every week and a half to two weeks depending on how much use we wash them all the way down oh okay yeah I know that all right thank you yeah and okay anything there else okay review the financials the first one going to review is the end of 2024 fiscal year so we ended up with uh 1.22 mil 53,000 in Revenue our expenses were uh 778874824 [Music] [Music] so I think those are the only you know extraordinary expenses big yeah that was nothing big and then uh we transferred $230,000 to the general fund so it's leaving a a surplus of roughly about $245,000 and according to uh John Richard uh we'll be approaching about $900,000 in uh certified cash Reserve so the next one is uh this is through yeah this is through September um the first week of September um Revenue um is at 191 uh Christine wrote down um there just four weeks that hasn't been posted yet for another 117,000 so that's giving us $38,000 year to day and then there's two we that haven't been submitted yet so I think you gave did you give me those numbers 40 a lot of checks coming in so so another you know probably another $60,000 coming in uh expenses so far is 172,000 but 173 um that includes the um the 10,000 for the gator that was purchase so that will give us roughly probably about um $140,000 of the Surplus soile this year minus the indirect cost yes I do that immed it makes me feel it's coming all right come on usually doesn't he doesn't take it out until until March so um there any questions on financials hearing none we have a motion to accept them motion that we accept the financials as discuss second all in favor say I I anybody oppos next meeting dat 14 last Columbus Day after can I do the 21st y of October is that that good for you even because you be doing before that okay well hopefully it works out way I do too anything else to come before the committee make a motion to adjourn second all in favor say I I anybody opposed all right thank you
