councilwoman Aon thank you um counis it's always been a great event [Music] on the uh oh I'm sorry on the construction side uh this month uh we took in uh $2,582 in permit fees for June and uh there were 115 uh permits uh filed so construction is uh ongoing pretty pretty nicely in town um on the shry side uh we're we're in the process of hiring an arborist uh to look at trees that we have uh tough decisions on um to get them uh taken care of so hopefully that'll work out we're in the process of doing that uh Fourth of July went fabulous thank you uh councilwoman Heron and councilman Pagan you guys did a great job I enjoyed the parade and I think everybody in towned too um that's it for me thank you councilman oison council president Morgan uh thank you mayor um just uh couple of things first um we uh along with yourself and the councilwoman Russo we met with uh some of the autobound officials to uh discuss the uh DPW SSA it was a very productive meeting um and uh you'll be you'll be seeing drafts of the of a proposed agreement that we can we be talking about in the in the very near future um but uh the meeting itself was very productive and I think it it was very encouraging for uh the future for our two towns um also uh just want to bring to everybody's attention that the work law the steel Thunder from the engineering report uh but the work uh along Garden Street by the high school has started so uh we'll see some uh much needed uh pavement going on on some of our worst roads so it's one sign of uh positive work in the town and uh kudos to councilwoman Heron and councilman Pagan for the work that they did on the fourth of July parade thank you for that that's it thank you and councilwoman Phillips yes thank you mayor um I have the fire report for June 2024 28 calls in Haden Heights 26 calls in barington four calls to Mutual Aid three calls to the highway for a total of 61 calls averaging five firefighters per call and um 26 career staff calls um also the fire department is currently accepting applications for volunteer firefighter 18 and up and Junior Firefighters ages 14 to 17 um applications can be picked up on Monday nights at the fire department um is that right Chief hals okay great so we would really encourage anybody um who would like to volunteer it's a great opportunity it's a great Department um and we need volunteers so um that's it for the fire and I also just want to Echo my gratitude to councilwoman Haron and councilman Pagan for their efforts in the parade um I know it was a lot of coordination councilwoman Haron coming in your first year and you you killed it so great job everybody had a great time it was an awesome parade and um thanks for all you guys did that's all I have thank you councilman Phillips surprised that wasn't in the Irish broad uh coun yes counil councilman pagan twoes she's making the magic and also Point thank associ for fixing the one part of same Market that was uh thank thank you councilman Pagan uh mayor's report so only thing that obviously uh I will um also give accolades to councilwoman Haron and councilman Pagan on the work with the fourth July parade once again huge success um and and again that's probably one of the most important things that happens here in Haden Heights our parades people love our Civic events so great work as always and um and councilman Heron you know kudos to you on the crash course that you did in a a very short window yeah um and then the only other thing was uh earlier or late in June we uh did a ribbon cutting for Lula empanadas for their grand opening on station at right behind C the old Cooper River ballet kind of near the rear entrance of Ralph's Pizza um Yasin and her team are doing a f fantastic job it was a huge grand opening a lot of fun a lot of people uh came out and so I encourage everyone on Council and the community if you haven't haven't tried Lula empanadas yet it's a great addition to our community and we're thrilled to have another small business operating here on our downtown uh beyond that excuse me may where's that located again where is that located again it's located in the rear of um station a 516 station a I believe which is going to be right at the rear entrance to Ralph's Pizza there's a small little grass lot side entrance it's right there that's where it's at great thank you see a little see a little window it's hard and it's pink and it's pink can't miss the pink signs yes so they're open Monday or no they're open Wednesday through Sunday weekday they open like 11 o'clock for lunch and they're open most nights till 8 o'clock ex except for maybe Sunday and they reheat phenomenally just that um that's it for the May's report unfinished business we have public heing and final Heights um it's the same firm U they actually um filed the same thing in Cherry Hill in the Kingston area almost identical to the same area um where where the Pensa Creek overflows when it rains and causes some flooding to some properties it's also the same Law Firm that hit for a 40 a $24 million judgment against haddenfield uh under the same theory of claims but much worse situation sewage backups uh not nearly the type of facts that we have on dire uh Drive um we did a lot of work with we have a lot of defenses assigned um John Gillespie um from Parker McKay um John is one of the most preeminent U Municipal land use lawyers in the state of New Jersey um feel lucky we to have him uh Craig myself the mayor and some others Kelly um Mike e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e Chris Chris isn't responding to me probably because you're not there so he is so overwhelmed right now [Laughter] so great just like we didn't yeah we just got to
