[Music] call the meeting to order Cody's back so if we would please stand to say the Pledge of Allegiance the United States of America and to the for it stands one nation God indivisible with liy and justice for [Music] all um as the new chair of the library trustees the first thing I would like to do is thank both Cody and Scott for coming to discuss these issues with us um Ellen who is of one of our trustees asked me to read this um General law from the state of Massachusetts section 11 uh part one title 12 chapter 78 Library section 11 the board shall have the custody and management of the library and reading room and of all property owned by the town relating there too all money raised or appropriated by the town for its support and maintenance shall be expended by the board and all money or property which the town may receive by gift or bequest for said library and reading room shall be administered by the board in accordance with the provisions of such gift or bequest the board of any library for the purpose of improving the services of said Library may enter into an agreement with the board or Boards of any neighboring library or libraries to pay for services in common or to manage a facility to be operated jointly by more than one municipality such payments to be shared in accordance with terms of such agreement so I'm I she just wanted me to point out that we as Library trustees which include our new members Holly and Tina Erin and suok as well as Ellen who couldn't be here tonight we are kind of responsible for the library and we feel as if as most people within the town sou feel this bathroom situation has gone on long enough and we need some resolution so we have new business we were going to discuss the window project first but since most people here are more interested in the bathroom discussions uh I think we should start with that um I want to thank Scott for the information that you sent it was very informative um it was also you know knowing that over the past four months with when the library has been closed there has been zero situations where the bathrooms have flooded or backed up uh we realized that the problem is not with the plumbing itself which is why we had wanted to call this meeting to figure out how much money it was going to cost to fix it the problem itself is with a patron or patrons flushing inappropriate items down the toilet I I am open to suggestions as to how we stop that from happening uh we've put up signs we we're in the process of getting um blowers instead of using paper towels correct I've got them like we just didn't solve them so I didn't want to change too many things at one time change one thing and you can eliminate that as the issue right so you know we have putting in blowers to eliminate the paper towel problem going down the toilet we put diaper Genies in both the women's room and the men's room to prevent diapers from going down but it's apparent that the three severe clogs have been as a result of diapers being flushed on the toilet is that 100% um confirmed that their diapers diapers and wipes uh confirmed okay now the Genies were put in after but has have the bathrooms been opened cuz I thought I remember we had a clog of a diaper after the Genies after the Genies okay Y and that's and the Genies are the third receptacle in the room get the regular trash we have a a foot foot activated receptacle and then the gene so there three receptacles in a 6x8 bathroom and when we get the blowers put in we're going to take the paper towel dispenser away yeah or not fill it or whatever we bought this as as a as a quick hurry up try it but I I held off on it because I didn't want to change too much at one time no I agree so if we don't need them return them we should still do a blower as opposed to paper tow paper towels cuz any eliminating what we provide that people can flush that could potentially cause a clog yep is I think a definite first step I also think we need to get people to sign in for a key to use the restroom I don't want to do it either but I we can't keep the back we the Porta PO is gross so the problem I see with signing out a key someone goes and they sign out the key they go into the bathro they use it they come out they flush whatever they're going to flush right I'm not saying the Librarians should go in after people I'm just saying we have a list of people who maybe have used the bathroom that day and then if it keeps happening we can cross reference a list and see who is is there a common denominator we need to do something and I don't want to do this either either but we need to do something we can't keep the libr the bathrooms closed and we can't just open them up again there has to be a middle and I hate to say sign in and here's a key and I don't want to put that on the Librarians either and I definitely don't want them checking a bathroom after people use it but there has to be an in between solution between locking them and just having it go back to the way it was when we were having to close them because we had water spilling into the library agree so that is my suggestion that we have people sign in to get a key I feel like also if people are going to look a librarian in the face and say could I have the key to your restroom they might think a little bit more about and if they have to write their names down even if they're using a fake name I feel like after a while if the same person is coming in and looking at a librarian and taking a key and having an interaction they're going to remember if it's a specific person question then why okay even if you identify the person coming in you you can't use the bathrooms anymore I guess even though specified or say you found the person that's been doing it anyway then what's going to happen I mean what steps could you take what steps are you allowed to take I suppose again I don't know but maybe we can have our health agent come and speak to the person the next time a librarian sees them I don't think you can do that you can't have somebody speak to them there's no waying right there's no way of proving that it's them and then you don't want to accuse someone something like that you know that that's we don't want to go on that road so I I have a question about the poort potty um why can't we put one move it if we do open the bathrooms we can say they're for patrons even though somebody might come from the playground can we permanently move that porta potty over to the playground so that people can use it when they're at the playground and strictly have it for playground use I've always felt that they should have a pter potty there cuz they come into the library I remember the soccer kids it used to say no cleats allow in the library because they come from the soccer fields to go to the bathroom so it might alleviate people uh using it if there's a porta potty nobody wants to use a porta potty but I mean I just think if we can have it permanently there and I don't know where that money would come from maybe the playground people have their own budget they could pay for that because any said costing you money to have that Porter party there um I don't know if that's a thought just a question I think before this playgrounds open the new one the old playground I'm pretty sure that there was two Port over there all the time yeah there were I think so I think I think it might be right now that I think of it there were two two that the project for my question would have been did you have problems way back when I'm going to say 10 years ago with the bathrooms still having problems wonder probably went around so I think we had problems but not this s way back when um I think this really started happening once we we totally opened up you know we were closed for a few years before then we would have like an occasional you know blockage and things like that and um we changed the toilets right because we thought maybe that was the issue the toilets were um getting old and stuff and then think once we change the toilet it all started going like way worse right and why why is that they were high velocity I think you explained didn't explain the new toils but you were going to try to swap them out from somewhere else in town we talk about that that end up not being feasible different brands so the carrier the piece in the wall that they bolt to it's brand specific they' have to open the wall change it it's just not okay not an option and the the company that that that makes that carrier they don't make High Velocity so we' have to open the wall it's pretty severe so two things about adding a quarter poty permanently outside at the playground um we can do it as far as where the money comes from I don't know uh in the paving project we have coming up I allotted a space for that thank you great it's it's closer to the playground it's over near where that that drain is the Su the catch Basin um parking spot over there that way yeah yep so if we don't use it it just becomes another parking spot if we use it then that's fine that's great so did I lose the pack no we were adding the spot you're adding the spot okay yeah um the the downside to doing that is when we first did the Porta poty here it was getting vandalized on off hours so uh the library staff started locking it at the end of their day and unlocking it when they open for business so was only unlocked during business hours because outside of that people were ripping off the hand sanitizer off the wall they were destroying taking all the toilet paper throwing inside they were leaving trash out straight up trash inside so I don't know if that's going to happen with the playground but I guess that's a different different right now because of where the Porta party is it's very visible from the Road and people at night who have an emergency see it there pull in and then you know they they're coming up to the Porta party and it's locked so obviously they can't get in to vandalize it I would guess vandalization probably are some of the teenagers in town who like to do other things especially in the summertime just my guess um but if it's in a if it's in a spot that's less visible from the street and more more accessible from the Hops playground I think it would be better for all all of us if we get our bathrooms reopened I think you're right it used to be on the far side the porter potties they weren't close to the school I believe they were on the other side of the playround the hill yeah they were way back right and they weren't as visible you know I saw somebody on a motorcycle on Sunday afternoon pull in pulled up I don't know if it was locked or not but it was locked it was yeah it but it was a good it's a good rest like a area I guess one other question I have um can we take out the changing stations do you have to have them could we move the changing station to maybe the playroom area so that people can't go in the bathroom and change I think it's a privacy issue I think I believe we're requireed too I believe so yeah okay well I think we had talked about that and I don't know that we're required but now that they're in there we can't take them out I think that's what we talked about before yeah if they're not required so because we have them yeah I don't think I think you could if you had a separate room and that was that was one of our thoughts was to cap the bath cap the toilet in one bathroom make it a changing room only M and then eliminate the changing room from the other room but that makes that one bathroom now unisex and I I don't know plumbing code there's plumbing code there's fixture count and then there's uh classification and use of a building whether you have to have a male and female bathroom which I think we do over here because we we tried to change that previously to uh have a staff bathroom and have a public and we thought we couldn't do it okay so so we were talking um this morning about that moving the changing table and um you know into the toy room and there's that I know you have to do some work for your Ada requirement but there's that little kind of Nook there that um is we could with a sink um and then you know if if it's a privacy issue which you know I don't really I don't know about that but um there's a that whole counter space that we could you know install a port a different port of party maybe they have I don't know tabletop ones I don't know but that seems like a good spot for the for the um changing a changing is there a way to make it without hug amount of construction to make it a private little area so I don't know um curtain yeah can you do yeah curtain yeah you could just we could just do a curtain but I don't know with the um Scots Ada work I know you're doing so you have to do some work in there with that right I can I can check on that as far as what we need I know it still has to be 88 compliance so you need at least a a 5ot circle radius to turn a wheelchair inside that changing room uh so it's going to it's going to come beyond the the area that you're talking about not saying we can't do it it just might be bigger than you're envisioning but you don't we wouldn't have that in the regular bathroom either right are we ever going to have a five Circle Y oh we do okay what if well I guess it wouldn't matter but if you took one out but you have one somebody flushes a diaper anyway it's just going to go down so what's happening now is once the Ladies Room gets plugged then it's like and this is kind of new I think it's new to me but it kind of then plugs the the men's room up you see it starting in the ladies room and the next thing you know someone will use the men's room and then it's getting cled up yeah yeah it's all it's all one pipe so the ladies room is just the the closer to the drain so the toilet doesn't get bought right it's the main line so I I know has anybody have any questions I'm asking I have one I have one question is the signage all in English is there any Spanish any any it is all English y I suggest that we have multiple languages I agree and I think we need to up the signage I think we need to make signage you need you need the symbols no diapers no white yeah that's a great idea I think we need to say our our bathrooms are newly reopened they will stay open if we can something along those lines so we have those signs we had three signs in there I know everywhere it hadn't occur to me but I think that in different languages um they were different languages no no no not not yet I mean it's common sense but I agree that's not a problem to do that and the symbols as Tina was saying the like the slash you know the diapers all that but um I have I have another question um you had said that when they put the camera down there that one company said we can reline where there's I think you had said like a yre or something like that and that might help because they could be corroded the pipes could be corroded and stuff can be getting stuck as it's going through and then it could cause a buildup is that something I know you said it was about $21,000 is that something that we're not going to be interested in doing even though it was recommended by just that one company cuz I don't know if you got a qus yeah so I got I got one quote was 21,500 um and they were of course they want s so they yep it's going to fix a problem um as far as the plumber and the drain cleaning company come uh suggested it was split 50/50 um and I C A couple more in and it was right around 50/50 it might work it might not um and again right now we're not having any issues so I don't think lining it but we have like I have people us there four people in library at once that but it's the same material it's not getting clogged with people going to the bathroom right it's getting clogged with diaper just like your home you diapers down your toilet in your home you're going to clog your pip we going what we talking about is instead of only four people a day employees using it it could be as many as 50 or 60 people a day yeah but that won't be an issue if it's if you're not diaper it should be but we don't know well no because the only thing clogging it is ERS or things that are going down theen it's never been clogged with things that you know but they did say could be getting stuck get clog with things that are supposed to go down right so we're using one ply totle paper is that correct no we're still using this the double ply U we didn't change we Chang as little as we could I I want to take all the variables off the table so we didn't change anything we did buy some single ply and we have it available if we need it so if we open the B do we want to go with the single ply maybe I think we'll be like you know you know what it is with single ply people just pull off yeah it really doesn't change I think it actually goes the other way people pull off more and then we don't necessarily want the library staff to have to suffer you can get the key and two little sheets of paper I I'm notc that the key is the is the right thing to do because a lot of I won't have phone numbers for a lot of the people that even if I if they if their um signature is legible I won't have more having to interact yeah you're trying to make it a deterrent um to interact can you ask for their for their ID yeah tell we want your driver yeah well you have to hold on sign in I don't think that's probably a kosher thing that we can do yeah ask for a driver's life just I sitting here and it says uh chapter 143 of the general law any public building or place of public accommodation Resort or Amusement as defined in chapter 272 uh shall install and maintain at least one baby diaper changing station in a semi private area accessible the caretakers this applies to public buildings public accommodation construction and right so semiprivate we could do it in that so a curtain would probably do the trick and we only need one ex in [Music] that so has the Board of Health been involved with any of this because it is a a plumbing septic issue uh I didn't print it out so have to bear with me um I got an email from Bob Valerie I spoke to him several times about it um he basically just said I'm not going to read the whole thing but he basically said that uh it is a it is a misuse issue not a not a plumbing issue um there was talk about a murator which is that grinds up a diaper into into tiny little bits that's made more for a sewer system not a septic system he said if you did end up going that route eventually it's just going to clog the leech pit which is going to cause total system failure wait a minute people put things in so that if somebody does flush a diaper R them up a garage disposal Fe toilet um but other than that he basically he gave me the Ten Commandments for a septic system Thou shalt not pour grease fats oils blah blah blah and it's of course says um Thou shalt not dispose of any non-biodegradable items in your toilet cigarettes diapers feminine hygiene products Etc but uh he said feel free to contact him and if you guys wanted to you could feel free to meet with his board as well have a joint meeting and figure out options um he's open to helping with whatever he can thank you just I'm old school problem I'm getting too old anyhow you wouldn't do this in your house and the F your kids did after you had a little talk with them they would never do it again what I can't understand is how people knowing that they can't do it in the house but yet the one will change and will take a Di and throw it down the toilet I I can't get that through my mind what is [Music] the I know there a bucket right here to throw it in yeah and it's something like you know wrap it up and here put it in the bucket I those are the same comments that we have been having for the last half a year eight months and and then the whes as well right they say flushable doesn't mean you should I mean everybody in the world has already written the package you can't flush them so you don't put them down your toilet but yet you go into a public restaurant and you think you can do anything you want there same some of it is and fire station police station they say flush they're not not I'm glad you brought that up this this issue is not contained to the library we've had issues the police station fire station as well um it's just it's you know after Co everyone's everyone has a white for everything and for whatever it's easier to throw it in the toilet is in 3 ft further to the left yeah but they wouldn't do it at home they wouldn't do it at home I don't gu it's not their problem problem if you live in an apartment yeah you don't take care of those issues you know you don't something gets clogged then somebody has to come and deal with it and it's not your problem it's not your money you know that's that's the thing so if these people who are doing this happen to be maybe Department dwellers they just don't they don't don't get it they don't understand it overflows you still have the problem because it's in your I mean that's what I don't understand you know I just I don't know how do you you change mentality how do you fix that how do you fix that there you know the only way I see it is they can't come in here period boom and now they have a problem with their own and they got to fix it somehow but that's that's just me I'm like I say I'm old school I mean if I did something wrong my father said you're never going to do that again I never did it again because I knew if I did I would be really sorry about it you know but there's no discipline well and there's no way to know who did it I know I but they shouldn't be coming in here to do that that's a mentality thing and that's where having a separate changing station I think will be will huge difference it's I agree because they won't be they won't be changing it at least for signing in and they have sign [Music] yes you just have to have one in the facility yeah I think there's no point in making a new one if we don't take the others away yeah we have to take those changeing stations we you know the friends bought those like years and years and years ago we have to open the bathrooms that's Scott will have to review to see whether the space that is being talked about is appropriate I think that's more of a long you know hopefully not too long but you know we're looking to we agree with you you know Scott myself Jean we've had these conversations since we had to shut them down months ago the priority is getting the bathrooms open we're we're just as unhappy about it as you guys and everyone in town is um but it's it would be easier if there were okay you need a new septic system it would be unfortunate that we'd have to do that but at least there was something pointing to it this is the problem this is the solution we don't have and so that's what makes this challenging but but I still kind of questioned this one company the $21,000 saying it might help so well but that's probably their business they come and do Scott said 50/50 half people you talked to said it could work and help the problem what's going to help help problem yeah the problem is now going to end up in the septic tank and then we're going to need a new septic tank it's it's it doesn't fix any anything it just pushes the problem further down it just keeps it from getting stuck in the pipe now it would go through the pipe end up in the tank and that and then that will back yeah and then you can have a like so so short term the goal is to get the bathrooms open so you could Gan and Scott can work together to increase signage in English and Spanish um Scott will look at the potential of a a changing station area and what's going to go into that that's not going to happen in the next few weeks you can start looking at it but it's certainly not going to happen overnight right unfortunately I think what we need to do is open them yes but we need to have a plan we can't just open them oh no no no but before the changing station thing is completely cuz we can't wait that long we need to get the signage we need to get the hand dryers once those are done I think we need to open the bathrooms and I think we should give it days at this point to have those two things completed and the bathrooms reopened so the only thing I'm going to say about that anything to do with the diapers St that's the problem right we're going to have to open before the diaper thing can be completely but we're going to have better signage we're going to do signage in other languages and symbols otherwise it's going to be a long time before B get mon all our signages have the symbols and you know at one point we had three signs in the bag and one in the front and one on the side so I don't know that signage is an issue and it's not it's very fixable too we can just put the three signs that we had up and yes that's a great idea to have them in different languages that that doesn't take that takes no time and can we say can you please review our policy before you get the key are we going to Key Well I'm not convinced that the key is the is the best way to go I'm I'm just not um we're a busy staff they would have to get it they would have to return it I understand but you know if we don't have some kind of control over who's entering the bathroom you know one day Jee will come in and it will be backed up because someone from the previous day has flushed something that shouldn't have been I think the key at least temporarily until we move the whole changing out of the bathrooms is the way to go because as Aon said If you're looking the librarian straight in the eye and I if I was the librarian and the person had a big diaper bag and was going in with a small child I would gently remind them that diaper should not be flashed well I'm not going to have my staff gently remind anybody about their bathroom but I don't think it's a problem you have someone at the circulation desk someone needs to go to the bathroom and just say see front desk for key they have to sign in and if you want to line like you would if you were out a book you get in line you deal with the librarian the same way you deal with the librarian if you're checking out a book and I think if they maybe if they had a diaper bag especially you could say please quickly review our policy it just with like the signage of like well I don't have a policy but like the signage if you had one at the desk I could say you can just have it right at the top of the signage sheet that they're going to list and their name should be printed and handwritten I mean s if you're going to do a key having having worked in a high school if you're going to do a key you need to have a great big block of wood that is yeah can't be in their pockets can't be FL not flushable so right so right now we have a um a screwdriver type of thing that we unlock the lock so a key you know I don't I don't know a key and a big thing would have to require changing the locks you Havey right we have a um a screwdriver thing it's just what you call it it's just a square uh oh it's not like hole for the no no it's just a you stick those so can we get one of those blocks need a door hand yeah we're going have to rework the doors I can I can look into the cost of it I don't know my guess is going to be somewhere around $500 you know $500 or so well I think but whatever it is you've got a you've got a a mechanism that you can't get into the bathroom without this a screwdriver can the doohickey be be attached to a large thing that then cannot walk out of here without like the bathroom Paths of high school like that two for right I think what you have to lock the doors at but I don't think you need to switch to a different to an actual key uh no one's gotten in there yet right with the doors locked where they are right but so I mean I don't know this screwdriver thing is I can get them I can get something the as a screwdriver now that we made it everyone knows it's a screwdriver okay Sobe just something that will in assign on the door saying please see the circulation desk for the key to be let into the yeah well they definitely shouldn't have to leave the desk to let people in it should be that people can do it on their own cuz that's too much I in my opinion to um so just for my notes for the minutes we're going to increase signage sorry little kids that come to the desk are going to maybe an issue I think get your parents you're not supposed to even come to the library without a parent get children's progr they at sign I mean if you can't yes you could have someone sign if someone says I need to use the B 10 the poliy is 10 um libr so if they're under 10 they have to be with an adult if they're under 10 but 10 is you know fifth grade so they should be able to use fourth grade yeah um just to reiterate and if anybody wants to add anything we're going to increase the signage um we're going to have an English and Spanish we're going to install the hand dryers we're going to take out the paper towels even if you don't want to take out the physical things we're going to take out the actual paper towels and I don't know about the two fly one fly you said it doesn't I think keep the same one that you've been using uh the hand drives you you were asking for to have that done the next couple days within the next yeah I can't um I just physically can't I get a kitchen renovation at the school tomorrow um I can do it next week with the driers okay so can we set the timeline to when we're going to have the grand opening of the bathroom well I think we have to have a plan to what happens when they get clogged again the paper towels haven't been an issue yet so I don't think that should hold up opening them to the public you think we should give it a shot it's up I mean it's up you but they haven't been an issue yet I think we should give it a shot I think we should have posts on Facebook on the library's PA Facebook page and the town Facebook page and maybe even big on the town website saying bathrooms are reopened conditionally on them not being Mis why they've been cloged yeah we kind just be real specific about it people have been putting divers in and well I think they I think they have been specific on Facebook I just would like a plan to what's going to happen when it gets clogged again um to understand that you know I will be closing the building um whatever program is coming up but I cannot ask the staff to be in this building without no absolutely not so without a toilet without well the sewage coming you know I can understand but without bathrooms there they have a bathroom we're open till 8 so we're open till 8 on Monday and Wednesday nights Town Hall um is closed at 4:30 on Monday and Wednesdays not going to ask the staff to to go over to you know Town Hall um at nighttime walk over uh I it will change my Staffing which I can do that as well but I only have two people in the building on Monday and Wednesday then as that's what my policy says I have to have two people in the building um so with my library hours and I will also say that you know I'm open 41 hours a week the state requires me to be open 25 but this last budget season when we went over the budget I was because I'm open so many hours a week I was able to have materials now that's a whole you know new budget discussion budget season is coming up but unless I you know and it's it is you know 25 hours as opposed to 41 so if I'm closing at night times I do have to be open like two nights a week until 6:00 if I don't have you know facilities to for the staff to be able to use from 4:30 on but there's a b party out there if they needed to if the bathrooms had to be closed for an emergency like everybody else has been using in the town There's bathroom facility which is considered a bathroom because I I did check with I didn't check with Bob because he was on vacation but I checked with another Town Sport Health just to be sure that we are allowed to be open without a working bathroom and they did say because you have the portter potty out there that's considered a bathroom so in the case with your staff um I mean we're asking everybody else to use it if they have to use an emergency I don't think that you would need to close the building because of that wouldn't we be removing the port potty if we're going to open the bathrooms or why don't we move the pter partty over closer to the playground yes okay think let's let's let's talk through the plan for the immediate just so we're all in the same page each of the steps Step One is signage so get increased signage M languages bathrooms will stayed blocked you'll put some signage on the door saying we have to go to the circulation desk you'll have some sort of signin sheet you'll grab the key go from there move the porta potty over to closer to the playground um you'll work on the hand dryers within the next few weeks but like you said I don't think you need to pull off on opening them for that uh specifically and then um you know if if there's an issue again likely you're going to have a backup and it's going to overflow like it has previously and having no facilities won't be a concern because you're going to have to shut down anyways if you know if we have sewage coming out of the toilet we're shutting down that's not an issue of bathrooms or no facilities and then at that point I would say everyone kind of should agree here tonight if it if it happens again in the near future we agree to keep them closed again until we can come up with another game plan you meet again um to come up with something else because we we just we can't continue the you know 500 to $1,000 potentially every week so I'm not saying longterm we need to do that but that I think there needs to be an agreement of this is this is the plan if that happens we clean it up and then just close them down again have the pter potties right there you know another question is is the would the library staff be okay with I mean moving the Porta party closer to the playground I think will help people over there using it more it's still not too far from here so is the library staff okay with opening it opening it and locking it still because I do think that would help because we're going to have an issue with vandalism over there I know it's it's less you can't see it as much from the road but you still kids it be a problem in when it's St at 4:00 and I don't feel that it's very fair for me to ask my staff to go to a pter party at 4:00 at night oppos it's going to get moved to the playground that's a playground issue that's the playground support body not the libraries anymore well it is the libraries though because we're doing we're trying to figure out a solution to the library back but when we have the solution and the ptii is going to stay there because that will take away from people coming in can you put a sign that says for Patron bathrooms for patrons only so the the I can put a sign that says bathroom for patrons only um historically what I can't Define a patron somebody can come in and pick up a book and say I'm a patron I can tell you if there's a you know working bathroom no girl is going to go and you I wouldn't want them to um but I I I definitely don't want my staff to have to go and and use a port a party I understand that that everybody else has to use it because of this issue but you're asking the staff to be here for 8 hours a day and go out to a dark quarter party no I don't think no's asking them to do that no we I would I would be completely behind you and said that is ridiculous if saying that we don't want to do that what happens on a Monday night at 6:00 to open up the bathrooms for everyone if they get clogged every time there's been a clog there's been an overflow almost every time right if that happens we're shutting down anyways you will shut down the we cannot allow anyone in here including staff if there's a overflow but I think what's happened in the past is Jean's let the staff go in and then you had talked to her about it and said we have bathrooms at the Town Hall so you don't have to let your staff go when they're actually doing work not clean up work but actually work there and the bathrooms weren't working because because they go home and then they get paid for being home but we have bathrooms for them to use so they can do the town hall the COA or the for Depot if that happens and it has to be work done so I just I'm saying right I want what I'm saying is we can't use I'm not going to ask my staff to use a quot body well I think we also kind of took it from locking and unlocking to using and you were saying you didn't want them locking and and I think we pivoted from the Locking situation to the using it but I agree I don't love the idea of the staff no it's I was throwing it out there just because as a town right CU library is part of the town as a whole you know this is a library issue but it's a town of calap and I also think unlocking it in the morning is a little bit different than locking it in the evening because in the evening and it's dark and there are less people around that's a different experience especially for women it right but I'm just saying for a woman to leave the building and take they're all parked to the right for a woman to leave into a bar dark parking lot and take the left over to is there somebody in it it's a porta yeah well we can't request our police to come in I'm just saying do you agree that like unlocking it is a little bit less of a a little bit different than locking it in the morning is it that I'm not saying you have to do you don't have to do it that's that's fine you're just saying this is a Halifax issue so if it if let's say this works bathrooms don't Clogg that's great but if that starts getting vandalized from the town's point of view we're going to have to potentially pull it out of there and then you may run into an issue of it being an issue here again so I'm trying to think ahead I understand your point and I agree I think if we have a portapotty between the playground and the library we will cut down on some usage M and again I think it does make sense for the Library St have to unlock it in the morning I don't love them locking it in the evening so if we can somehow share that responsibility somewhere that's different too even if it gets or if it gets locked before it gets dark how many pter potties does the town have and how many are vandalized I'm just curious the one at the Lincoln Street beach has v beened several times yeah they I saw that one are there any other down at the field the one at the field by the police station never gets vandalized oh video right there maybe we need put some video upal the which one the bom of that it's not Pho the actual kick in and that's too bad to go back there so are those ones left unlocked all the time the ones that we were talking about support I believe so they're always unlocked yeah oh okay so these are the only ones with a locking unlocking situation okay so what if we said that the staff locks it before it gets dark cuz that's my I wouldn't want to go over you could I mean then that should get rid of most of the they shouldn't be on the playground after par anyways and they're going to have the bathrooms open so that's what I mean it's just it's kind of a weird task to throw them into the middle of the we still haven't talked about you know when it's St out and the library's open no just in case just right yeah yeah that's a different situation right right that's the situ I'm worried about so if it's dark if toilets get clogged you call me or whoever's on call and we come we we unclog it we shut you down right yeah Y and then if we do unfortunately have to go back to closing the bathrooms to patrons that is another situation do we move the port would have to move the porty pot closer again if that's what we expect our patrons to use and then it is another situation with locking and unlocking maybe we would need to get another one the playground one could be at the playground which should be permanent in my opinion and then if we had to we can put one I always thought that qu party should have been right outside the front door on the left it's tough to get to we have a um for the cleaning yeah we oh there's a driveway that leads right up to the front of the building I used to see the bookmobile P up to it all the time it it won't be in the future have you noticed how that catch Basin sinking lower and lower yeah is that all going to get repaved it's going to get repaved but that's one of the issues is that sinking probably from traffic so when we rep when we repave it's going to be far narrower a car will not mistaken as a driveway um so we couldn't get any closer safely cuz the the truck that delivers them is pretty heavy so I was going to take that chance okay um the the new home for the porter party would be parking area is anyway so it's not that so if it gets again I know that you were concerned about who would pay for that fix for which fix if it gets clogged again yeah so I mean I think within if it gets let's try this I'm very optimistic um I'm not positive but let's be optimistic about this let's hope it doesn't happen again if it happens again once I think you know we'll go status quo SC will handle it with the plumber but I think that's when at at that point we know this is going to be a recurring issue we can't absorb it in our you know facilities budget is kind of where Scott was getting at give this a shot here if it happens one more time get it cleared up and then we need to figure out what we're going to do but we can't just you know pay a plumber to come out every week every two weeks right no I agree so but let's give it a shot but I think we have to have a plan in place like you said if it does get clogged again are we going to have to dig it all up do we have to put I mean we have special Town meaning that's not not going to be in time for that but we have to go to wait till May to go ask for money to there'd be a lot of homework before we got a plan this you know part of it is and you read it in Scott's report it's a very distance it's a long distance not changing that unfortunately you you can change the pitch maybe that helps a little bit but you're that run is unless you want to move the library right or move is there any way to regularly preventively snake that drain so good question uh the the equipment to get out there is expensive you we we could it's um it every time you do that it wears on the pipes a little bit that's not not a major thing uh we don't have the staff for it to come in so what we were doing is at one point the suggestion was to flush the drains regularly so we come in every morning to clean and we come in every morning turn out every faucet in the place and flush the toilets as quick as we could and we do that for 20 minutes much much didn't fix the issue um I mean what's your timeline for building the new CH station so I'm going to look there's a little 3ft return somewhere around 3T that would have to take down to make that wider for the 5T radius so I have to look and see what's I don't know if there's any utilities in that you know Plumbing or whatnot um but say like October say probably January would be a fair we he just doesn't know what yeah i' I'd rather say January and and look like a superstar coming early rather than to say next month and fail so s when you think about it unless you're here for a meeting I would say that I don't know the exact figure but probably 95% of the people that come in here are only in here for 10 or 15 minutes they could in get a book and leave right but the Su are so busy with story hours well and those are the kids we don't want in there so let's wait till Summer's over before we do anything but um you know being old in the olden days when we took our kids to the library or any place if they had to go to the bathroom we say okay let's go we take them home so they could go to the bathroom we didn't expect that every place we went would have a bathroom that would accommodate him you know I think it's just Sil no we need to be able to accommodate the kids that come to the library with the restroom the the kids really aren't the issue the kids aren't throwing their own diap down the toilet the parents unfortunately that's right crazy that's right and I think that that if you put something on Facebook and everything I think that needs to be said not just that things get clogged I'd say that parents are putting diapers down the toilet yeah because um some people I read these stupid angry comments that people write like Jan like Jean should be the plumber and fix it all you know and they don't know what's going on i' say you know we're having this problem because of one two and three so why don't you target sometime next week to try to get that one that seems reasonable get we get the P party moved within the next week or so I don't know if it's going to be Monday it might be Friday but if we can try to going to say mid week would be nice because then it would give like a couple of days and then a weekend to kind of ease into it and see how it's going so if we could how quick can you be ready if I have that Port potty move tomorrow if he's able do you want to do it that quickly or is that too soon is mid next week better um to open the bathrooms yep well did you want to wait until you got the hand dry or up we decided that that that could take a few weeks so and so are we going to keep those rolls of paper towels in there because no we'll go back to the regular paper towel dispensers I don't those are more expensive you have those yeah the paper towels are more expensive the U yeah the terway ones you have now no I just want to be clear on what I do when there's a a clock do status you call SC if there's an overflow you you have to shut the building down and then you know SC will take care of it just like you would before and then it'll have to be addressed at the next trust news meeting that you guys have if that happens and we have to have a plan to either get an engineer come out here we have to have bathrooms it's going to be you know 10° pretty soon and people are not going to be able to go port a potty to go to the bathroom just a point I don't think there's any kind of uh septic system you're going to be able to put in here that's going to solve your problem it's not going to happen you could probably put a 10 in pipe out there we won't be able to contain it the problem is is is is people it is it's really people and and I don't have any answer for it but to spend $100,000 $20,000 rip out the hole you're going to have all this ripped up out there we're going to put a new septic system in and 2 weeks later you're going to have the same problem again whether it's in the tank or in the pipe it's going to it's going to happen again and again it's just it's a problem of people and and I to life of me I cannot understand the mentality of people I really can't I agree it's a it's a people problem it's a usage problem but it is a small percentage of the patrons who come here it's not the majority no I'm just saying we need to now think about we've now had the library bathrooms closed for I can't even remember when they closed March March and we need to now consider the majority as well as opposed to being afraid of the minority and we do at least have to start to try new approaches because we can't continue to not have restrooms for our patrons I don't know if it's just because of the playground but there are changing stations and movie theaters and restaurants and you name it and I don't know of any restaurant or any movie theater that has the toilets clogged because people have throwing diaps down the toilets they don't have septic systems either but it does they could have a septic system it doesn't mean that they don't I mean but but there's there's a different there I don't know what the mentality is what is the mentality of coming into a library and throwing something down the toilet and knowing that a week layup this place is shut down again you know the this isn't unique um and right a lot of communities deal with this what you typically see is a lot of communities are on a public sewer system and then what ends up happening is actually the town is dealing with it so it's not like it's noten but the towns have been dealing with it at their sewer treatment plants and they're B up there but even those are getting bound up some of these towns and it's so it's not a Halifax unique situation unfortunately it's just it's impacting us in a little more of a localized level because we don't have a sewer system right we have we have a septic tank and it's it's not even making any to the septic tank um but I think you know we'll give this a shop we give this in well I just want to say um you know we talk about the patrons and opening up for the patrons and when I have to close this building um you know and I have to keep it closed there are a lot of people most of my patrons come in here and don't use the bathroom they are people that come in and use the computer and help with that there are people that come in that just want to pick up their books there are so there are like more people that come in and need to use the services of the library that when this library is closed it's not really fair to them either and I don't want them to not be thought of and to be lost at because you know the guy that comes in and uses the computer every you know Monday afternoon uh because he needs to check his his um unemployment thing and he's um doesn't have a computer at home the woman that comes in here for all her other computer needs that we have to help her with people just picking up books people um coming to programs and things like that there are a lot of people that when I have to close the library are going to be negatively affected more people than people that can't you know can't use the bathroom and that's you know that's my priority my priority is my staff my priority is keeping this building open to everybody to all people even people that have to use the Porta party I can't do that if my staff doesn't have clean facilities um in so those are my three priorities and um but how long I think the only thing I agree with Cody that uh I mean you can have a well-intentioned plan and go 1 2 3 and four but I think a meeting with the uh Board of Health to find out okay what do we have to have what are we required to have and and and then make a plan for me without I would assume if if we weren't if we needed to have bathrooms the board of he would have let you guys know that you can't have a building open without that's why that they said when I called the board of help in another town they said should stop well I'm assuming he would have said you can't have this building open if there's no B yeah so I spoke with Council about this immediately try to figure out what what can we do and that's that's how we came up with you we need to Pro provide a facility as far as staff you know providing a facility us providing a facility such as I know it's our idea and we don't want to do this but providing facilities such as the P poty or town hall is an option not a long-term option but right if there's one night where that has to be an option that is an option we are be near a legal obligation and then as far as the facilities for patrons the port party does meet that meet the requirement again not ideal but it does meet the requirement of providing a restroom um and and the only other question was Ada right in it's an ADA porta potty so we're completely in the clear as far as meeting our legal requirements it's not the best um how long is the library closed down when there is an overflow and you have to clean up which is what Gene is concerned with having to close for though right depends on how that sometimes it's worse than others days sometimes it's just for the remainder of the night other times it's been into the next day depends on how far it leak a day okay and there's this cost to that I mean you're going to cuz suggesting that the library you know take those cost on well like said the first one will be on us yeah let's see what happens I think we do need to do something we are all in agreement that this is not a good long-term solution it's just a matter of what is what is the best solution so I think we have a solid as good of a plan as we can have considering right now move forward um once Scott and Jee have been able to do those things don't know get it opened up and then you know we'll see what happens if it clogs you know Scott will take care of that out of his budget the first time but then you know we we'll have to Circle back and figure it out yeah we can't absorb just consistently consist 5600 a week sometimes oh it's uh like between 500 and 12200 a visit uh for the plumbing company to come out clear it uh th when when it gets over a th that's going bring the camera uh so we know what we're dealing with um but it gives it's more expensive but it gives us information instead of just clearing the the blockage and going on our merry way for it to happen again right at least the camera tells us what the cupboard is then there could be cleaning costs depending on how bad of a overflow it is dis all that and then if it's real bad may go beyond kind of the pr Scott in his team and then you know additional costs there so just so many unknown right usually it's an evening but if it's real bad you may close the library for 3 4 days if you have to but hopefully it doesn't happen yeah hopefully it could I think the longest wouldve been closed so far is uh the following day so if it happened like right now it' be closed all tomorrow C something like that that's the longest request if it was closed for cleaning could the Librarians be present so that if people wanted to pick up books at the door no if it's because if that would mean you know cuz you but once it's clean then the bathrooms if they're not working they can be here go town hall well thank thank you I just want to say I know it's a lot we're trying know that's we to meet together really worked wonders like they're on it and as many times you saw um Jean has had issues here you know she's very responsive and getting in touch with Scott's team but they are great about getting out there and seeing it through um so yeah good take you guys we appreciate it Su do we we probably need a motion to reopen the bathrooms with the signin sheet and key and new signage and new signage that includes in Spanish so moved do I have a second second all in favor I I any oppos sorry and Sue I would like it in the minutes please then um I don't think this is a good idea okay I'm going to put would you just spoke about as well the patrons and keeping about the library open but I'll I'll that thank you checking in people is going to be almost a full-time job checking in people is going to be a full-time job and I don't see the well if you don't if you thought that the majority of patrons don't use the bathroom then it shouldn't be a full-time job that's true they won't they won't be used a lot P party Scott try to get that portter party mov over you know as soon as possible the kids just come one after another after another during the day we will do the best we can but no I think it's not a good idea but I'm on record saying that and that's fine thank you um the other thing just so we're on the same page if it does happen again the plan will be you know Scot will get it cleaned up and we go back to we're going to shut them down be open Library staff can use them patrons will be expected to use the portapotty until we figure something out I just don't want it to be a recurring thing so just want to make I definitely think having people accountable with their name they're walking in there with a baby and a diaper bag you know you can kind of figure out who's doing what know but I think accountability is big deal and and again with Scott looking into building an outer area for the baby changing when that occurs hopefully sooner rather than later I think that hopefully would make a big difference in that the diapers won't even be in the vicinity of the bathroom and the toilet so they won't at which point then maybe you can eliminate the key thing this this key thing might be just a stop cap just to see if it helps mhm and the signing signing in un since I'm going on record here I think that um the key thing is a burden to the staff um and I don't think that you know I my vision is that sometimes if there's you know somebody coming in you know out with the key then you know they're going to pass it on uh you know this is just from what I think would happen how much I see the bathroom you know being used but if they have to then sign out the key then yes it it is more work for the staff and I my I have a wonderful staff and I'm they're not walking at um you know extra work I think that they're you know I don't want to speak for them but I I think that um well I I won't speak for but I mean at the same time don't they feel uncomfortable telling people they can't use the restroom I mean I feel like it's it's replacing one discomfort with another discomfort with another I would hate to tell people they couldn't use the bathroom so um it was um we have a question at well I I just want to point out that um with the key you have a lot of germs on that so the library staff is not only handing it they're going to have to sanitize it too cuz I I also worked at a high school to do way the bathroom having the wooden thing because of the germ factor and also as Library user and I also have a degree in library science and I feel that when you come to the library this is one place where you know you can be anonymous and signing in and out I think is not a good idea I we have to have in my opinion we have to have accountability right we have to try it but the important thing is getting these bathrooms open for people yeah so and I mean Linda we could also go to start with this if it seems to be going well we could say you have to ask for the key but you don't have to sign in yeah a lot of places have a you have to ask for a key but you don't necessarily have to sign in so I feel like if we start here we can make adjustments as we go and seeing how you know hopefully we'll get feedback from the library staff of you know how we certainly don't want to burden them right but we do want to make it so that people can use the bathroom yeah I definitely P to be open and you have somebody at the cir desk I mean they're there anyway and they can just okay here you go I mean either check out a book or a key you you have my you have my thoughts on them but um you going to ask you know you're going to have the sign in sheet at first year if it's very if you're finding it your staff finding it to be quite a burden that that'll actually serve as good data bring it back to the trustees at the next thing look exactly have 25 a day or whatever you know I I don't know what the volume would look like and what would be a burden you would know more than me but you know come back and say look at we have 50 people a day we can't do this this is too much of a burden and then I think you know the trustees can take that under advis we can see how many people are actually using the bathroom every day and we can see we can start here and make adjustments as needed or I mean hopefully it won't get to this point where you know we open up next Wednesday or Thursday and we closed on Friday to patrons again hopefully it won't be that but we can always make adjustments if it goes okay because we just have to try something at this point for the public yeah the town is not prepared to spend $20,000 to line the pipes that's not going to solve the problem because the problem is someone or more than someone pushing stuff down that shouldn't be pushed down so and then we're also not going to spend $200,000 on a new septic system it's teaching people the proper things to do and unfortunately there are people in the world who don't want to learn the proper things to do but we have to make an effort to do that MH and we we are just I'm a little bit reluctant about the paper towels I'm wondering if we shouldn't wait a week for the hand dryers because those paper towels do get soggy and if someone throws them in the toilet that's going to be a whole problem Poss possibly I mean I don't know how paper towels would go through those pipes if they're corroded a little bit or whatever they're called you know what R why don't you wait till you get the hand s should we wait do you think to how long for the hand dries do you think a couple so we're already talking about next week we're not talking about tomorrow right so maybe you know I'll do my best to get them in by then so should we I I think I might feel I don't know how you feel we just voted but feel better about no paper house and opening just toilet paper what do you think or do you think it's not I don't think we can that kind of depends on the timing the the only thing we could do would be to replace it with hand sanitizer in the bathroom she's saying don't open it until open open until the dryers are there and the paper towels are gone because how many times have you gone to a bathroom at a restaurant paper towels in the toilet so I know so and then my other thought um is since I have to have at least one changing station to take the other one to take the other one out and I'm thinking you know the the women's room I don't know if it's just because um women are going into that room so maybe I take the chaining station out of that room and leave it in the men's room like maybe that I don't know if I sing it up I get you I think but if if the woman's room is always the one clogging and then it's clogging that's always always and it's coming up from the drain and then then it messes up the men's room so you think you want the changing table taken out of the women's room to start and leave the one in the men's room for now for now since we have to have I mean can't we say that they're both unisex is that not allowed no that's not that's cuz I mean I've been in both I've been in both my kids that with with according to the plumbing inspector the the class and use of the building you need to have have a male female restaurant mhm because it's live cuz like at 9s it's unisex so class different class okay but nobody enforces that I mean it's a one person I mean well we're in town we need to follow the no I'm just saying nobody enforces it here I've been in both bathrooms my kids have been in both bathrooms like it's we were here all the time when they were little we went and whatever one wasn't occupied right so yeah you just go and and people do that too if the woman's room is occupied then they go into the men's room and I tell them oh it's you know it's a one straw just go use and before if the Ladies Room got clocked the men's room was always available but now what's happening is every time the Ladies Room gets clogged the men's room gets cled too so it's just it just doesn't happen right away it happens with like the next youth want wait until Scott has a longterm longer term solution for the changing table cuz then if you do that you're going to have to Reign the men's room and say Men's Room SL changing room so you just flush it in that toilet I can't just bu a sign that says changing station available here just no no in the um the men's room like the sign on the door baby chain I think we have but the thing is if if there's a a changing station if someone is doing it in the women's room and they go into the men's room they'll do it there I think I think we have to leave the changing tables in both bathrooms until we have the solution outside of the bathroom with chaining babies and we have to have them you said we can't just take down and [Music] say okay so back to the hand dryers what do you think do you think by the end of next week is feasible for I'm I'm going to shoot for the middle of next week okay and and hopefully we can open up middle of next week have them done when I said days before I didn't mean tomorrow or like I me I meant like a week to 10 days I meant under two weeks essentially days to me is like under two weeks not like Thursday so do we want wait until the especially if he thinks you can get it done by the middle of next week I would say wait I think so too and then paper towels were done no more so I make a motion to amend our previous motion to say we will add the hand dryers and wait until obviously Scott can get those installed and remove the paper towels which is key increase signage and yes and keep everything else the same so I make a motion to make that adjustment to our previous vote so how many would bathroom's not open until the hand dryers are in place and the paper towels removed I second all in favor I hi I any opposed no so just to be clear how many signs would you like and in what different languages well I would say Spanish well Portuguese Portuguese yeah I would say Spanish Portuguese and I would throw Chinese okay does anybody else have any suggestions for languages I've never seen anybody speak Spanish or Portuguese in here but I have heard him speak Ukrainian oh absolutely draw the line somewhere get it want to you know Spanish and P Portuguese I get I don't do you need and again you know I don't know if you need both of those most people who speak Portuguese can at least you know understand some dialect of Spanish so you probably could get away with just Spanish and you know if you feel there's a lot of Mandarin users in here you could add Mandarin Jee would know I think best what the what the usage of the library is but it yeah I think we we I know we have we do have a family from Ukraine that comes to knitting um but they speak they speak English so I mean I would think Spanish and and Portuguese I mean the room only thing I would ask is the symbols how big are they on the signs I'm thinking the symbols need to be huge yeah how big you make you know and right over the toilet well I had signs over the toilet and then in front of the toilet all over before they closed and then to the right of the toilet with you know the I will say they were white paper with black text I think we maybe need more color no no no I have laminated signs in there now oh okay what colors are they so the it's one's red in the back and then um and then with the white lettering okay so I think colorful is CU it's a bathroom or very light neutral I should say um I would think I would think one in the bathroom would be sufficient one above the toilet sometimes you know you put too much and people just don't look at any of it m yeah um becomes well I have to have at least three in the Portuguese and and Spanish one sign you several languages under the symbol right oh you're talking about a sign with just the symbol and then and the text and the text underneath yeah you do some googleing I think you know that's something that Jean Scot work through I don't think you guys need to figure out the exact frame there thank you guys thank you so much thank you for coming okay cuz the sign we have says please don't throw you know diapers wipes feminine blah blah blah blah blah blah and it goes kind of long so I mean it takes I would say no diapers no wipes no feminine products yeah end the story no fewer words people don't you're Library okay okay I think we have a plan we have a plan hopefully it will work okay um the other thing that was on our agenda Scott and Cody is the window out front y uh we know that we approved at town meeting last year Monies to replace that window and the only thing we got from you was that the bids came in much higher but we didn't get an actual amount of what were the bids do we need to withdraw our monies and put in next year on town meeting for a larger amount and I'm not sure how that works I mean do we keep what's already approved and asked for an additional amount saying that the bids were so it wasn't the bid that would came in high it was the cost of the engineer and so I it took me a little while to find an engineer that would work with us that was more reasonably price that was reasonable Okay so we've got the drwings now and now I'm trying to find anyone that will give me prices oh I got one guy that saidd to give me a price he stopped by never give me a price I got four out never never return the calls okay um right now everyone seems to have a glut of work and does not seem to be interested in coming to work with us uh and it seems to be something everywhere yeah so if we do need more money for it we can look at it in a town meeting next year for additional money okay but I'm still I'm still working I just um great yeah so you call people and try and you just don't get anywhere with right so probably end up going on the state bid list um which hasn't proven great in the past so I was trying to go but we may up going that room so can we ask that you update us like every 2 months or so if anything has changed on that just so that we kind of all keep fresh in our minds that this is SC can keep Jean updated then Jean Will and that yeah that way we'll know if we have to put in something in the warrant next spring and Scott will take care of all of that too you know if he he thinks it's he he did the original warrant so hope then the other question we had was on this Paving project that's going to happen outside um how is that going to affect the library being open so G when is that occurring so we don't know when it's occurring yet because uh We've awarded the job but it's up to the guy that gets the job to fit Us in the schedule okay you he's got other jobs going and whatnot so um as far as when I don't have an answer for that as far as access Gan and I had talked about using this door so people come in on that side temporarily that put in the front parking lot this all has to be done before school starts because it's wrapped into part of the front of the school okay whole parking L being done not the whole parking lot the walkway just okay so the walkway is going to get narrow it's going to be so that's a a DAT right is oh it's more than that because it also goes behind this way and wraps behind the school goes into the playground so it's it's pretty I mean the part that's in front of the school would that I mean in front of the library would that be a day's worth of work maybe so they're probably going to excavate it all at the same time and then PVE it all once so there's no seams got it um so probably going to be I'm going to guess and I don't know because I'm not the contractor I'm going to guess week and a half yeah I bet so a week and a half before December August 27th correct okay so that has to be the end of that week and a half has to be so that's soon mhm yeah well we haven't uh we haven't got that schedule yet from the contractor but you're likely be hearing very soon about that I imagine yeah so Squad we will have to talk about entrance into the building for the cuz after we talked about using that door I was thinking well if like you're not here I don't have a key to that door to get into the building so we'll have to figure that out and then also how the staff is is going to get into the like the building before we like open but I would be the first one here and I would be the first one here the length of the project I guess it's fine but like how would I get in so we' come in in the morning to a regular cleaning we leave the alarms off and by then this key is going to match that key and so you guys can just come in this way so I'm going to have a key to that door y okay so you'd just come in that door okay that works I didn't know I was going to have a key to and then will you have sign out front Library oh yeah use whatever as we know we'll post it online and stuff as we'll put some sales out the front redirect them yeah um one thing that because you're here I know we're going to meet with Cody in the future the the trustees about some other issues the door to the school the teachers have access to get into the library and we talked about this at our last meeting Jean is not comfortable it they shouldn't be coming into on that Scott's going to the facility director over there and we'll we'll figure out a solution but jeene brought that up and we've been on that yeah because they shouldn't be able to just walk in here anytime and yeah I don't know I don't know how that happened because in the past they didn't have access so I think it's probably I bet you can just not have them have access to that door but okay I just want to bring that up so thank you okay um I think was there one other thing about the um the becoming a cooling the cooling center cooling center yeah it wasn't on the agenda we just we didn't put it on the agenda we didn't put it on the agenda we were just concerned that Gan was not notified ahead of time that the library was designated a cooling center we we never really opened any cooling centers so we were just putting out a reminder that our facilities are open during the day and you can go there and we have AC you know we never designated cooling centers or shelters or anything all the time it yeah it was really just a reminder hey our Council on Aging is available our library is available um okay go on in and feel free to use this use the library we're not St over we were just reminding people that they can in but it it really wasn't anything beyond that I can't imagine you saw many more people because of that post well um I don't think we saw people because of that post but I did have a lot of people coming in and enjoying the AC and stuff that is working great and we had some ice cream in the freezer so we got them some ice cream yeah all righty I think we've covered everything that we wanted to cover do I have a motion to adjourn the meeting I'll make a motion to adjourn second all in favor I thank you very much [Music]
