like I can't say enough uh we how much we appreciate everyone in the Department of Public Works and how much that you guys are out there doing for us and it's snowing it's raining it's 12° it's 100° you guys are out there and taking care of us and taking care of our town and I'm very grateful to you thank you very much you're welcome there thank you thanks I just like to say that I appreciate the recognition but we really can't do our job with the support of all the council and all the residents because um yes we do a lot behind the scenes just like the police and fire in us but without your support it wouldn't happen so we appreciate it thank Youk thank you okay pursuant to ordinance 2019-04 I do hereby appoint the following members to the handyman oversight committee for a term to expire on December 31st 2024 uh councilwoman Tony J Dan pasero councilman Joseph finella and councilman Patrick foil and I think there's an application waiting to be work that um I just wanted to make one announcement I know sometimes in the meeting um when people are giving reports we'll have conversation um with members of the audience and um Mara was having a hard time picking that those conversations up and also Kathy when she's doing the minutes she's struggling to hear what people are saying so if someone's going to speak I just uh kindly request that you just come up to the microphone so that it's clear and everyone can hear you and the people at home can hear you and everyone's getting all the information that they need so thank you for that uh the finance department um councilman fala thank you mayor uh really not much to say except for the capital Bond ordinance uh which is up for public hearing uh is up for adoption and um hopefully it's through and that's pretty much it may that's it okay thank you councilman Department of Public Works councilman Bole uh same thing not much this week um uh the DPW collected and transported 175 yards of mixed vegetation for a total cost of $3,936 um North Side Vol pick up is scheduled for September 30th and the souths side for October 7th um and the DPW is now accepting used cooking oil from residents and Commercial businesses um I also wanted to say Greg thank you for everything you're doing an excellent job and I know you're short staff wish there was something we could do about it right how many uh people are you short [Music] staff um the short staff really comes into play when we do recycling I need all nine road department guys to get it done so anytime anyone calls out sick goes on vacation I'm either using my forance or we're running Less trucks so was there was there a position that wasn't filled I'm not I'm not from what I was told by my supervisors there were at least two guys that um two I think it was two guys that were like signed their resignations or quit or something like that in the last two or three years and they were never filled but I can't attest to that I'm just going by what I was told who has the history of that um you were on the Department of Public Works last year were there positions that we didn't fill I was there now according to the to we are at where we were so we are not down any men from the organization chart how come there were two more does anyone know why that if there were it was before me so since I've been here we are where we were right but I mean um so you've only but prior to that were there more does anyone know were there more employees like obviously they're saying that there were two more employees I'm just trying to get at when and how that happened and why those employees weren't replaced and when since the to I mean the to matches what we are have right now so unless that was changed at some point and back but I don't believe that's been changed in a while so that's what I can I'm not sure I can speak on behalf of the police department I know at one point we were we had like 31 officers sworn we're down to 26 but we have dispatchers instead of officers on the desk so we have redone the to on the police department numerous times and I don't know about the DPW I can't speak on their have but I'm sure there have been changes but not recently okay so was there on the recycling day I I just want to get at you know the the problem with the Manpower I mean do do we need another person I mean do we need to address this is what I'm trying to the um the way we're doing the recycling yeah we get C the way we're doing the recycling right now is saving the town money I don't have a report right now because it's the year um I'll be able to present that at the end of the year when um when we're done but right now it looks like we are saving money from last year's budget and um I just we might have to as a as a group effort between myself and the DPW Community might have to come up with a new strategy on recycling so we're not using all nine guys um on one day because like I said when we do that some call out SI goes on vacation which is happens coming up in summer months um it makes the days go it makes the pickups go longer just a question on that Greg um when we used to do it Southside north side was it easier and not as Manpower intensive as having everybody dedicated to it do it in one day or two days over was but dual stream we were doing it single stream back then and it was costing us a fortune and doing a dual string is more economically feasible um more financially responsible so if we wanted to go back to that way it's going to be a burden on the residents because I would have to do Northside B cans one week so basically everyone would only get North Side would get one pickup per commodity a month and same thing with outside and what is the the what not with mixing recycling versus separating recycling what is the savings on right now what's what is it showing compared to one versus the other and not not just the amount and what we get at the dumps but like Manpower wise cuz now we're dedicating nine guys to do that versus less guys I mean we are we put one extra truck on the road to get it done and we were getting it done so when it was North Side Southside we were only putting two trucks on the road and so now we're putting three yeah to do the whole town right and we were getting it done because we were using utilizing the garbage routes as routes for recycling so one truck per route and we were getting it done in that fashion but like I said when I'm one truck staff at today I only have two trucks on the road because well it's because one truck's bu going for the other one and sometimes the county needs their truck more than we need it and um also one iclose guys too so it's all playing a role I would imagine as our population increases too the recycling the garbage is going to increase so there has to be a difference five six years ago to what we are now over 8100 I was doing that preo the the box and cardboard collection was significantly lower I think it tripled and it hasn't gone down well it's cuz everyone's ordering everything online we're so used to it I know I do I I mean I think maybe it might make sense for the DPW committee to get together um with the superintendent and and talk about how we can maybe finance and oh yeah and the finance yes in the finance well that's most that is important most important we have to make sure that the money is there um no matter what we do but and please include Finance but and just see if you can uh hash this out and and even see like what the return is on separating recycling versus not separating the costs and everything to see if it's worth putting that nine guys out versus doing the way we we did before with less guys and being able to dedicate them to other T and I've been talking with Ken about a couple times um the even if we had the savings it even if we were getting rid of the bottles of cancer freeze for some reason that savs wouldn't be enough to finance more guys so right especially when you're considered the benefit package yeah so it's same wouldn't help offset any new guys so we have to look at it from perspective that you can get the the only thing I would say uh immediately just thinking off the top of my head if it's just a temporary thing we can look over the summer months with the vacation times and things we can see what's in the recycling tonage gr left and maybe a higher uh seasonal perum can we use clean communities grant for that as well well the problem with that is they would have to do clean communities things have to be guidelines they wouldn't be allowed to do recycling pick up they would have to go out and clean Parks they could maintain the recycling center they could clean up the yard they could weed whack but that's about it gotcha but I mean just to Temporary I mean we just adopted the budget so we did not budget for any additional staff that's something we can consider for next year okay or Poss the end of the year if we have a e year uh but just quickly thinking we can take a look at the recycling tonage Grant see the amount there it's just one day a week we come up with a rate to figure that out maybe bring a seasonal person in get you through vacation seon B all great I a good idea and jumping off of his suggestion my town that I live in for that kind of program they go to high school yeah we've done that in kenart back in the day where they helped paint curb lines the high school kids and stuff for the summer to Parks you know so that is a possibility too if we can get you know depending on but we've done that in the past in can prior to to being here okay since one topic of tpw hate to stray but I got a complaint by a uh citizen who owns the house next to that vacant lot on North 8 Street I receed it yeah yeah saying that her resin fence is being demolished by weed whackers oh that one I thought you were talking about the Tre no saying her fence is getting I think she sent a email before yeah is that the same one that would you say this was on Joe um North 8 Street Great Christ buff that same yeah that lot that's every we have to maintain because no nobody owns it or or we don't know that that house and the church church church property this is the one that before she has yes and I thought we the we sent it to the insurance company and the insurance company said that we were not responsible for the fence they do they denied the claim yeah it's a white B and you're talking poly poly string like poly string cannnot throw a hole into wife on offense unless it's already brittle which at that point they should have been replacing it regardless this this is the one also where we rented that equipment to when it was really high last year you rented that equipment and she was trying to say that it was from that and I thought we had pictures and disputed that as well but I don't we did because we took pictures and we left the machine left grass this wide from the fence and the machines are set up they designed they have a heavy chain guard in the front so like py things can't be thrown out and hit stuff they're designed that way so again the machine couldn't have done that damage either I think it was previous damage and she's just trying to get us to fix it my assumption again it's just an assumption I've only been here less than a year so I don't know what that looked like before we went in right I don't either and I don't know how old the fence is I don't know how old the fence is but the the weeds the grass was high there yeah on and off it's it's it's low now we're we're keeping it low we don't do it every week we do it when it gets like KN High just to keep it so roen still nest in there and speaking about these I don't think these are weeds it's pretty much grass on the corn of 6th Street on the boulevard there's a house there that the grass is at least 2 feet high and we need to get someone out there to slap a warning on that well that would be the code enforcer not Craig you don't have to do that but then if we have to go out there and recut we put you put a lean on first the code enforcer has to go yeah it's a whole process that process a whole process um if you want to pH the complaint we can reach out to the woman I just noticed it but I don't know if anybody else no the woman on the fence The Other Woman and maybe we can I can call her and we can address this and maybe so she doesn't okay perfect all right thank you appreciate that is that all that's it okay thank you Department of Public Safety councilman Zimmerman thank you mayor just a couple announcements I want to make um Chief Su already gave me the the monthly report at the last meeting so I'm going to just start off with just a reminder for June 1st Saturday morning uh 7:00 a.m. registration 8:00 a.m. at blackbrook is the Kenworth pba's say no to drugs get hooked on fishing derby it's open to all canorth residents they do sell uh bait there worms and it's usually a great time there's prizes for different groups for uh the biggest fish also uh 2 Days Later on that Monday the PBA has their golf outing on June 3D and there are still spots available and if somebody is interested in golfing Travis DTS would be the contact and that's a brook Lake Country Club um which is just near the downtown area of Madison not in Madison though I think it's in uh Floren Park Floren Park yeah just over the Border also this past Monday unfortunately I couldn't make it but the chief Seuss and the Department announced uh and had a little ceremony for their wall of Honor which is downstairs in the in the hallway and uh it's befitting for K police officers that have died um and pass and it's a good spot to uh to have memories and and remember them there a lot of them I I have worked with and some of them are prior to ones that I've worked with but it's befitting and it's been a long time coming I know we've had it up and down and it was in the squad room it's been all over a place now it's for anyone that wants to come in and you know pay homage and and and be able to see officers that have been here and have passed away that's it's very nice very nice and last but not least um I just want to touch Bas I saw this report come out from the FBI and it just came out today um and it deals with the 2023 10e high in assaults on police officers in the United States so this is a every police department does a a report every every month and they submit it to the state police and the FBI and its niers now right Chief yeah it used to be um UCR the UCR uniform crime reports now it's niers so it's actually done electronically so it's done much faster and up to date and agencies providing data to lioko which is law enforcement officer killed and assaulted in 2023 and most officer assaults occurred when responding to simple assaults against a non-officer which was 6,783 incidents followed by drug and narcotic violations which was 4,879 violations and incidents and the FBI has released preliminary data from from its annual report to show that it is a 10-year high for officers assaulted and killed in the line of duty this year here so it's a tough job I know uh we do a great job here in Kenworth but it's just something to keep our eyes out for it's a tough job and it's it's very demanding and our men and women here in Kart do a great job so kudos to you and as a kick off to that um May 12th through May 18th and today's May 15th is National peace officers day um the 12th to the 18th is uh police week and I Know Chief Seuss was involved this past week and uh some officers that I know from Rosell Park in the uh law enforcement ride down to Washington DC to the police National Memorial and uh I heard the weather was a little rough at the very end due to cold and wind and and some crazy uh some weather but it's done every year every officer has to raise a certain amount of money to donate to the wall for officers that have died in the line of duty and they have a candl light vigil and I hear it's very moving I don't if you want to say anything about it Chief but uh I've never had the opportunity to go down there myself to uh experience it but what was your your your experience and thoughts about it thank you commissioner I appreciate you bringing it up but it's uh it's a it's a difficult 300 mile ride that spread over uh 4 days uh it's just a grueling ride but I think the the thing that's impresses you the most is that when you get done and you get down into Washington you ride together 2 by two through the fallen officers Memorial and as sewers you're as much as your heard and everything else you have family members of of officers who've died holding signs up thanking you for riding for their family and uh it's a moving experience and if you're not moved or touched by that it's uh it's really something everybody should see once in their life the memorial itself is very it's beautiful it's very touching and I think we added another 153 off to the memorial this year so that's what the folks have raised for to unfortunately consistently have to add new names to the to the memorial uh but it's nice to uh to remember the motto of the ride is we ride for those who die so as uncomfortable as we are uh we're still blessed to be able to do what we do so thank you thank you thank you Chief amaz so just on a final note each year during National Police Week our nation celebrates the contributions of law enforcement from around the country recognizing their hard work dedication loyalty and commitment to keeping our community safe and I always want to say special thanks and kudos to our Police Department for all they do I great thank you okay Planning and Zoning uh councilman Morrow all right keeping with the theme of light reports tonight I'll stay with a light report uh starting with the planning board last uh meeting I mentioned we had a slate of applications that were still in their review process with Town professionals they're still there so last week's meeting board uh excuse me uh planning board meeting was cancelled because we had no applications to look at so no update really from that angle uh also very light in zoning and permitting for May uh we did see a business off of Route 22 in Michigan move actually from Route 22 to Michigan Right Jason lot but now they're at kennworth uh business so happy to see G freed or G fried carpet moving to kennworth uh anybody know how to say that one free free okay that's what I thought it was um on the same kind of vein uh the fruit Republic store that we uh are starting to see signs for on the Boulevard in 21st looks like it's opening up soon so we'll get our fruit bowls and smoothies soon enough and that's my report thank you thank you Recreation and fire councilman scures thank you um see during the month of April the fire dep Department responded to following 31 calls one brush leaf mulch fire one carb fire one carbon oxide alarm one CPR 13 fire alarms two First Responders two medical assist lith assist seven motor vehicle accidents one Power telephone cable line one smoke conditions the order of smoke one water flow alarm during these in uh incidences the fire department travel 100 miles utiliz 123 man hours the fire department rescue squad responded to 35 call traveling 228 miles utilize 85 manh hours additional man hours utilized during the month of April include uh 257 for administrative and sing 1364 total calls for the month 66 total miles travel 328 total land hours uh 1,829 U moving on to rec uh Sumer Camp registrations have been open to the public for about a month and a half now you can register through Community pass currently there are 180 kids registered across the 8 weeks there are two swim nights scheduled for the summer located at the CLK pool on uh June 27th July 25th from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. registration will open on June 1st you must register through Community pass have thank you councilman Education Health and Human Services uh councilwoman gardano Ferno thank you mayor uh the Board of Education has been really diligent on um keeping track of the uh interview process for the superintendent I was very impressed at their very rigid timeline it's posted on the Bro kennworth website uh and I think it it holds to uh the diligence of the Board of Education members trying to find the right candidate to fill the position and fill it uh by August so that when we open up for the new season in September the new school season that we have someone in place that is somewhat acclimated um to how things uh work in kennworth and and our needs and desires so actually this week the full board was conducting the second round of interviews on all applicants so they're moving along rapidly um plus the announcement was just um shared on April 10th so I give them a lot of credit and I'm sure they're putting in countless hours uh with this other committee trying to to put everything together and find the right person to replace Mr Arlington the projects are moving along smoothly the turf should have been delivered um this week uh the only thing that would have held it up is maybe today's bit of rain but it's moving M along quickly and the paving is continuing on so the projects are on schedule and anticipated to complete uh Midsummer the library they have uh we've been uh meeting the library board uh the director and myself talking about different expenses that um they incur that the burrow had been facilitating those payments and the library has been very gracious to say that they will Now cover all their exterior maintenance of the building so their grass cutting and uh leaf removal snow removal whatever on the exterior of the building they will take care of that with an outside vendor thus relieving the DPW from all of that responsibility and for now they're going to maintain our services with the GIF um insurance and the payroll but um they did indicate that they were their next step was to look for a payroll company so they would shoulder that responsibility in cost and therefore relieving that from the burrow budget as well um and of course they have a myriad of programs going on but they're going to have a table at the street fair this uh Sunday so I encourage everybody to go there pick up information information if your children or yourself especially new residents are not Library members they should go and sign up because there's so much information there um people that want to learn a second language they have all the tapes and whatever and you have uh that for free so I encourage everybody to go there of course uh the biggest uh news is the senior Center's grand reopening on Sunday it will be 11:00 they're doing a ribbon cutting but they will be open for the dur a of um the street fair Sunday so please get over there and uh it's really blossoming and again uh thank you to Greg and his staff who have been like the personal on call people to get things cleaned up and and touchup paint and whatever had to be done over there uh to make it really happen for our seniors the health department we have our meeting tomorrow but I have been in contact contact uh with Marone about couple of different locations in town that have issues with properties that need to be um addressed and he is working hand in hand with uh the code enforcer the health department comes into play when it is a health issue anything other than that like cleaning a property or trimming a tree um cutting grasp would then go back to code which would then go back to if it's DPW or whatever but if anybody has an issue of a health related problem they should touch base with the health department and if you're not sure they will gladly guide you through the process but they are aware of a couple of issues they're working extremely diligently on it um I do see posts on Facebook I have not commented because I I really think anybody that has a question should go back to the health department um and that's the proper way to get the right information but they're working hard on it and they're doing a really great job and that's all I have thank you thank you Council woman uh B engineer thank you mayor uh right now the only construction going on in cworth is the 202 roads uh I believe they finished all the concrete work on Ashwood and Maplewood and they hopefully in the next few weeks will get to Paving that and moving on some uh M and um we're currently working on uh getting quotes to place the water fountains in the municipal building hopefully we could do at least two maybe three and uh uh get some uh those ones that bu with the with the Box great I have a question um the work that was being done on brass or Lane that was sort of halted yeah what's the update on that we're we're still looking into it seeing if there's uh any other Alternatives that we can do to help alleviate uh some of the issues there okay uh but we're still doing the research okay thank you were you asking about what connected to will I thought we were talking a couple months ago about somebody dropped off equipment never came to actually use it I thought we had a contractor in a plan we had a contractor in a plan but um we did just to be on a on side of caution we're going to look we look at the design just to make sure that's the that's the best fit for that why do we want to do that cuz there's cost involved in that so we had a plan we had a contractor everything was good to go signed off on by the council what happened that that's not the there was a resident that uh came out to speak to Christian and um propose some new information that this the way this plan could potentially create more problems for his property so we want to just make sure that that's not the case and that just the engineers just giving it a second look is what they're doing okay did the reason what was going to happen to surround the properties with the initial plan the initial plan was just to remove the uh Flooding at the intersection will and uh this resident is located um next to the where the pipes are going to um well they're on the corner of Bot BR they just had concerns and I want to help alleviate their concerns that instruction okay all right we're watching this one like a haulk we're all we're all we're all on it I have something for your chisan two things real quick um I know at the last meeting I had brought up the sidewalks in the center of town I know there was some work done recently to those uh those holes that were put in I Believe by the gas company when they after we we did all the concrete work they busted it up they put black top in I saw them out there working the other day yes what is the status with that the um the I can answer that actually the uh engineer has I I took pictures and sent it to Tony because it's not acceptable the way that it was fixed and he um did not accept it so they said they to replace the whole thing they have to go back do even match doesn't even match um I sent pictures to him and he has did not accepted the project so they're going to have to go back and fix it again so that's where G no it was the gas company I know they originally did it with black top which was horrible and then it was sinking and seniors were coming out and then now I saw they they it's terrible did another Band-Aid job it's better than it was but it's still not to the original it's not even the same color and when they went into when they cut it and they went into another section they messed it up they they just sort of patch that instead of even pulling it's not a clean cut it's terrible so yeah all right so as long as on top of that cuz that's that's the center of our town and it just it's bad Y and just the other thing I know we had brought up at the last meeting and I want to consider have us I know Mark's unable to be here tonight but instituting a a curve to curve whenever utilities do uh it's uh introduced T yes so we in the paperwork that angel okay all right very good then we're good to go thank you thank you it was actually Mark at one point didn't think it would make it I think you worked on it actually Dustin [Applause] or okay but um Tony it wasn't going to be they had asked for more time but Tony had come back and said can we he liked the one that we had as a sample and so Mark kind of was able to get it done on uh Friday and make it in all right good yeah y okay bar CF bar CFO thank you mayor uh just we have the uh Capital Bond ordance on for public hearing and adoption tonight uh it's 3.45 million and uh thanks to the support of all the governing body Angela and the department heads we've secured over $484,000 in Grants for that employment so that's great thank you good job thank you go um councilwoman J D pno was mentioning some things going on with the library um they're kind of autonomist if you will in that they get to select their own landscaping and all that yeah if that's the case would we be able to bid for that I mean it seems a little inefficient to have somebody come in when we're at bur Hall doing the same thing going across the street they're a separate eny so we can't tell them who to bid for be one of the options that they they have their own budget so they have the they have the option to choose how and where they want to spend their money we did give them a quote for uh landscaping services so they're probably shopping around we may wind up doing it good good all right thank you I just a good price we're in thank you thank you both Yeah we actually gave them a price and they chose to go elsewhere B sry thank you uh so I don't have anything uh to really add separately other than there's any questions on the ordinances I love to take credit for the sidewalk ordinance that wasn't me limo ordinance was me on that uh but to the extent there's anything to discuss it's not a public session okay B administrator I do have a few things tonight actually um just the first is a reminder that summer hours are starting so between now and our next meeting uh the burrow is going to uh observe summer hours so Monday so they start May 28th which is the Tuesday after Memorial Day and run through August 30th which is the Friday prior to Labor Day so during that time period the burrow office hours will be Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to to 4:30 p.m. and Friday will be 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. so just a reminder it will be on our website it's on the media sign but just to remind people um the fireworks display is on the agenda as you all know just to let that they are going to be June 30th and you did confirm that they're at blackbook corre Black Brook Park um I will let you know that the fireworks company did already speak with Carmen and are working through the logistics I think Mike you're involved with that I think they're meeting tomorrow once this is awarded so um that's that uh the next thing is I just an update on our new burrow notification system it's called everbridge Uh talked about it in the past and we said it was coming I've been working with um very closely with Lisa wood uh the chief uh the captain and uh lieutenant Bryson so it's now ready to roll out um as the governing body knows and a lot of the employees I sent out an initial test run to use the app to register um we are starting to Market it it is live um we'll have Flyers at the uh Street Fair there'll be lawn signs we're having put out I gave you a sample of what the notice will look like um we are go the QR code does work so if anyone sees it um it's on the website so take a look if anyone has any issues when they go to sign up let us know uh it's a great system the chief picked it out actually brought it to us we it's really easy to use um so just kind of get the word out let people sign up the more people we have signed up the sooner we will start using this right away and we can use it really easy for a lot of things do we you Swiff each 911 or we're done with that yeah we're done so maybe we can get the school to put it up on their on the I do actually channels public um yes and I'm also the flyer is going out in the Friday folder to all the schools it's going to go out on Friday um can we business everybody gets a free uh yeah we're also going to have Flyers printed up in all the businesses so we're going to distribute them ask them to post it because then what people can do is just go up use the QR code they don't have to um they'll have Flyers so get the word out that I'm glad you brought up the other one um because one thing it's really important to note to people even if you were signed up in the past it it does not transfer the system wouldn't allow it so they have to sign up fresh so keep that in mind um to the senior sign any for the seniors what we did is they're not going to have to sign up and um actually Lisa created a form for us we're going to hand that out they can fill it out we did already share it with um so and then the police department we shared it with them because if they have any calls to Residents that you know don't have access to the internet can't get out of their homes any of that situation they can fill it out they're going to bring it in and Lisa and I will register the library too because they have the computers they said a lot of people go there and use the computers so we did um talk to line had volunteered as well also so um we really don't want the paper go out to anyone other than the seniors because people should go in and register themselves but to those we did the form really just for the seniors um and anyone with any special requirements like in case of an emergency if there's special needs or someone has a wheelchair they can indicate that on it uh and that's useful information to us so if anyone has any issues or questions um just raise them just so everybody knows that this this is an important thing to make sure that you register for so that if there's not going to be a g garbage pickup or there's going to be snowfall and and or there's an emergency in town um whether it's a hurricane and or an explosion or a fire or anything a water shut off you'll be notified through this and with that it you're going to be in the dark so it's really to everybody's benefit including the police the DPW and the town but also everybody else's benefit that they're on board with and in the know of what's Happening as it happens or just prior to yeah no it's it's great it's a great you canot s right on the burrow website correct yes and um so basically there's a page that look there's a picture of this on there and if you click on that it'll take you right to more information and then you can also click right onto the link and sign up right then and there so um one other thing um elections with um Congressman pay's passing there will be a special election I just wanted to let everyone know um if it may be confus using there will be a special primary and a special General the special primary will be on July 16th which is a Tuesday the special uh General will be on September 18th which is a Wednesday we actually have a meeting that night so um more information will be on our website I will update the page but I just wanted to let people know it might be confusing with so many elections this year uh and then last but not least um I am I wanted to mention something uh to the governing body and kind of get your a making a proposal on something I'd like to kind of initiate and Implement here a Hometown Heroes Banner program um I worked in the town I came from where I live as you know a lot of local towns have it so I've been a part of it and kind of know how it works so um we worked with a company at I mean you've seen them we have banners with names but you've all seen them because a lot of our local towns have it with pictures so I'd like to um can see ask if um for your blessing to go ahead and kind of move forward to bring that to the Bur I think it's great um yeah do we have names and the way it works and I you really um actually I I did uh have a a couple quick conversations to see if I had some people's interest so I was talking to the chief who also said he would uh take part so we'll just um start a committee I did also reach out to the town that the company who I know did them where I came from and did a lot of the local ones it's the BW B je uh yeah he actually said he's interested and the captain as well also a veteran um so what I'd like to do is most of the time you'll have the person who wants to apply there are a couple of things that are done differently in in towns uh and it's not going to be the burrow at the Burrow's expense and it's run by this um organization and this company will allow people to go right on to the site they can enter their information upload the picture that gets loaded um and they take care of printing the banners and doing all of that um and so we'll start and I'll did that answer your question or really yeah I have no idea of how like who um proposes someone how is it vetted it can be you know um printed put it up I I think the initial step uh step would be to have this like kind of small committee that and the chief and I talked about putting it together um I think uh Chief scary got a little volunt told volunte um and then we'll come up with the policy right who do you want to have have them where I was it was anyone that lives in town or lived in town and is or was a veteran can be put on there and you can um you know submit it on behalf of someone else we did have that a lot um where I was there were a lot of people who would say oh I you know my parent grew up here they would like to have the banner where they grew up um and then they submitt it and then um um you know we'd have to work through the layout you choose that choose the policies on who we want to allow and then you know how the funding will go different towns do it different meaning some of them put the cost on the person applying uh and usually I can say that towns are a lot of the local towns there's about 10 Towns really close to here um that use the same company and they're about like 150 to 175 that they charge um some no and some of them do um through donations so we can kind of decide that the chief and I talked about it a little how we could do it and maybe do it that way but okay we'll take it from there sorry we all good with that hello hello oh is it not working maybe um anyway um I was looking into that myself um coming back from atan city was a vendor Adit the problem was the style that uh there was showing there's not enough life bus they were all taken up so I don't know if they can get a different style or I had light poles or something like right here in the center they were all it was a banner like on every pole and that's why I like wow there's No Vacancy I don't know how else well I would I would propose that we replace some of what we have right we have a certain number of banners there we have the ones that say welcome uh we have and so they're kind of worn as well a lot of them um and we'll take account I will say that the initial you kind of would want to cap it for the first year um maybe start with I I think there are enough polls and we'll figure it out but I think we'll kind of look at what we have I did get a count from Greg today um on what we have and um would like to start there I I definitely think we can do something you're not going to you know sudden on day one right maybe you know I'm saying if we did it once we we usually take their banners down for the winter and we yeah lot of towns will do that they'll put them up for Memorial Day and and Veterans Day they'll go up and down yeah okay I be if you need room up on I comme if you want so and if you know anyone has any other ideas or suggestions or issues you know raise them we're going to start out and that's where we'd like to just just on that since you just struck something with me how are we doing with flags Greg for the boulevard I know we were short last year um a lot of them were tattered and and that tipped over where are we with that um they were all put up on Monday oh you put them up from maret Street till eing okay good yeah we replac every single one bought new polls that we need to I think we were short 40 polls it was kind of funny cuz I plac sat order at Home Depot they thought it was a mistake they want to know buy 40 Flags um Billy uh Bobby Jean was in today and I was talking to him and he um said that he pointed out to me that I guess he was part of bringing those flags in I don't know but he said I know they're Ted we would turn them over to theeran Center for that's what he had said to me and they would also replace them so uh I will you know put you in contact with him but that's what he said to me today we have a bag right now collected of all old C flags of various sizes whether the small ones on wooden pools that you would wave with your hand or ones we put on the street or ones we put on our flight poles here cuz they're different size so yeah so I'll get you in tou with him and he made it he pointed that out to me yeah there's a it looks like a mailbox on the right side of the front steps but if you have that many you may not be able to fit them in but that's where they go and and he takes care of um whatever he does with them we also place a lot of brackets too I think yeah some of them were bent and facing downward right good 50 brackets cuz they're all SN they look nice they're rusted yeah no they're not rusted they're a little cast aluminums which because it's cast it it can break in I me like the uh the braces that went around those some of those were stripped and and rusted the that holds them on onto the the utility pole no good excellent great good job staying ahead of it thank you good job okay is that all oh yeah sorry is there a motion to accept and approve baral
