fashioned way uh at this time I will ask everyone to I will call the meeting of the Lake comoo Council to order and ask everyone to stand for aute flag and a moment of Silent reflection I to the flag the United States of America stand please remain standing for a moment of Silent reflection thank you sunshine law please this meeting has been provided by the adoption of a resolution by the mayor and Council on the second day of January 20 24th in which resolution the time and place of agenda and regular meeting commencing with January 2nd res set for to the as Park PR the coar and tap into council member VRI here here thank you can I have a motion to approve the minutes from the January 16th regular meeting so move second all in favor I I opposed extensions we will uh have reports of committee starting with councilwoman Al balad Doyle thank you mayor um uh for the Recreation Department the junior lifeguard signups are happening now so if any of the kids in town are interested in signing up for that please go to balm.com for further information on that um also some good news we were in talks with uh Rob de Martin over at EMS and we are looking to um introduce our community CPR class again in the spring it was really successful last year so we're looking to offer it again this year um so that will be for residents burough Hall members anybody in the community would be able to take it it would be um up to no charge to the community so we're looking for that so look for dates of that happening in the spring um also we're moving forward as you can see with the picture above with our playground um so that's our rendition of how it may look there's a resolution on the agenda for today where we're going to be talking about um bids that have been put out for that so just wanted to update everyone as to the fact that we're moving forward with it so it's pretty exciting stuff other than that all matters are in order thank you uh councilman ventrice thank you mayor the uh environmental commission had a meeting on January 18th and there were some uh new items that were discussed one of them is we're looking into having uh Maza give a uh presentation on Recycling and composting there seems to be a lot of uh confusion about what should shouldn't be recycling the rules keep changing on it so uh we're going to try and schedule some kind of um presentation on that uh then also uh as far as the lake goes one of the um things that may be available to us uh and there may be um I understand there's a lot of grant money available for Lake projects um there's what's called a floating Wetland Island it's uh kind of this small uh it's like a little island that mimics a full wet land and what it does is it reduces the algae and just generally increases the uh quality of the water they have a few of them over in Asbury Park and um so that's something that's uh being looked into whether would be appropriate for us and what kind of money is available other than that all matters are over just one quick question on that um why is the Environmental commission looking at Mazza to do this presentation I don't think it was that Maza was selected as the one to do it I think um I think I forgot who on the commission looked into who was available to do it but um I think they kind of generally go around doing presentations toone who asks yeah um I would I would I would think we would want to look into Delisa right um I think I can answer that question the as actually is the one that takes the recy oh from they actually take the recycl they have the local PL um they keep updating so all the recycling in this area typically goes to understood okay thank you councilman danan uh thank you mayor all matters are in order councilwoman skull thank you mayor um the tourism commission met last night and we have confirmed that Lake Como day will be Saturday September 21st with a rain date of Sunday September 22nd so please mark your calendars um and just to let everyone know remind you that we do have some fabulous Lake comoo swag left over from Lake comoo day um one of them is from this last L one of them is a green hoodie in tie-dye that says Lake com on it they're for sale for $40 it'd be perfect for for Parade day so um reminder that we have some some clothing options oh here it is thank you heather um other than that all matters are in order thank you council president wiy thank you Mr Mr Mayor under Finance all matters are in order under the 100 anniversary uh committee uh as we know 2024 is the anniversary of L comos last out and hopefully in the next meeting we'll have some stuff to report on the committee has been meeting and doing a lot of stuff and at the next meeting some of will be known May public what's going to happen okay that matters order Chief you have anything uh the only thing I just wanted to remind everyone in the residents that there is a 5K race out of Bar Anticipation this Saturday Cupid's Chase it's a foundation that raises money for uh individuals with disabilities so that'll be starting at 10: a.m. from our anticipation just look for road closures and um will be open 18th Avenue North North thank you um I am going to hold my report at this time um I have nothing really pertinent to report and I think most of the what I can report I can report at the next meeting and hopefully we'll have our stuff up and thank you um so at this time I'll take a motion to open to the public for comments on new business and consent agendas sove second all in favor I anyone from the public wishing to make a comment on what is listed under our consent agenda or new business on our agenda and uh this session is for only those items can do so now you can come up to the mic and pretend that it works and um 2024 Spring Lake 5 race director so um once again you have the application be in front of our Council are there any changes at all changes we've run this race for 44 years it runs primarily in Spring kickoff for the summer great kick off for the summer does a lot of great charity work as a non by nonprofit organization proceeds after R expenses all go to local charties that's awesome um there's no issues Amy with um insurance or anything chief any questions from the council oh um I believe at one time it was Runners World magazine said it was the best 5K in the country yeah so it's it's a five mile race five five the largest f is currently being run uh in North America so we have participants from all over the country and international people put this as a bu list and from and it's Memorial but you can look at it everybody has any questions it's all regarding drainage our new homes um so if if you don't mind I'm just going to real quick point out um One Piece everything that's on here was talked about in our Workshop meeting at the last meeting um the one I believe significant agreement that we came to was that um the roof leaders this is under d uh letter D roof leaders and some pump trains for all new structures or additions with the building footprint of 400 square ft if you remember during the uh Workshop it was listed at 750 square feet we moved it down to 400 square fet this is a first reading uh and after this first reading it will go to the planning board for them to review um they can make comments um and if there are minor changes we can make those minor changes before the second reading if there are major changes if they have significant issues with it and we can just redo change it to do a first reading again um but as you know you were here for the workshop we had testimony from our planning board president planning board engineer on this and I know that Drew has been working closely with uh Mr Hilla and also uh Peg on uh Peg's office on what this is going to look like so uh is there any questions from the council I have a question so on D1 is that also where they got the 40 Cubit feet from because that was the approximate 10% ratio that we were discussing I believe that is exactly where they got all right no more questions I have a motion to have a second second roll call please yes yes yes yes yes thank you resolution 224-4141 don't mind I was I know I was talking our CFO um so this is basically uh this is a motion to move money from one account in our water utility or from four accounts in our water utility into the several years ago you all voted to make our little burrow of Lake Como a sanctuary burrow you remember that and I was here and I asked if you would go along with Wall Township and Spring Lake hikes who voted not to have Sanctuary areas with in those two Town um but you voted to make are we still a sanctuary Barrow um I don't remember voting to make this we made made it a sary I don't know that you actually did so didn't so so the truth of the matter is we didn't we did not vote to not make it a sanctuary I know that right yes so we have not had any discussions or change our our um stance on that um that I know of so then we are a sanctuary bir I guess yes I guess yes and uh what are your plans that big white bus pulls up here um well there's a bus stop out front um so and many many illegals disembark maybe maybe maybe well that's it's happening I'm sure we'll cross that bridge when we come to it that might be too late no yeah okay I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it for what it's worth May the governor does have contingency plans throughout the state or something like that would to happen there are places where those IMR they would just dropped up in the middle they come up with the house not probably not they come I know he's sorry he did it he's sorry he did it um I do have one more question you put up uh the charging station for the electric cars yes we did who pays for that the people that charge oh so the station is free by a grant yeah it was it was put up by a grant we didn't pay any money to put that up and those that use it pay for the electric that they get out okay not too many people have $70,000 cars so I was just wondering there's a lot of people that use that station yeah they actually came in here one night and made somebody move out of the park the spot so they could use it okay yeah yeah I I am actually surprised at the amount of people that use that there are people that will for three hours and do work in their car while they're charging their car yeah pay for it sorry to but they also um provide business to our town so by sitting there having their car sit there they may decide to patronize the restaurants and businesses in our town so okay thank you thank you Mr Mrs Frank see no one else take a motion to close so move second all in favor I at this time um the burough Council will be going into public uh into executive session we will be using this chamber for that executive session so I will ask
