##VIDEO ID:HD1XzxM102U## [Music] hey good morning everybody uh my name is Al Min leberg City manager and Welcome to our ribbon cutting at the leberg international airport for our Hangar project uh it's a pleasure to be here representing the city and the lebur city commission and Airport board um so without further Ado we'll go ahead and get started uh first I'd like uh to introduce uh bo rutin who is going to lead us in the pledge and invocation B probably has a couple of remarks too so well thank you all for coming out uh it's a beautiful day today and if you could uh we'll bow our heads in prayer and then we'll say the preg of Allegiance Heavenly Father we thank you for this beautiful day we thank you for the fact that it's so nice and in the in the terms of the air uh Pilots we call this Kavu clear and visibility unlimited thank you for this dedication this project has been a long time coming we're proud that it's here please continue to bless this airport and the people making decisions to help it grow in Christ's name we pray amen I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic under God indivisible with liberty and justice for thank you Bo and I was I was probably a little bit remiss trying to get the the show started here Bo is the chairman of our airport Advisory board so um I'll leave probably some of the the other remarks I didn't want to step in and repeat stuff uh but B's a big part of today uh and the influence from the airport Advisory Board to to invest some of the airport funds in different various Capital Improvement projects around the airport so both thanks for all you do and thanks for leading us today um also so we'll move down to the remarks uh first on the list is our mayor Jimmy bur hi uh I'm Jimmy bur this is uh this is a a great day for us today seems like uh all four years that I've been here so far we we've been talking about these hangers so uh it's about time we're seeing some progress so uh it's a wonderful thing it it provides uh a better entertainment flying uh commercial flying uh helps grow our airport and and strengthen our economy by getting these projects done and uh we're really excited about it so uh without further Ado I'll let Allan come up and uh explain it a little bit more in depth good morning everyone uh thank you for joining us I just want to have a quick speech real quick uh this airport holds a special place in my heart I've been here since I was a little kid and I started my first job here when I was 18 I've had the privilege of working here and witnessing the airport transformation uh into the asset it is for the city today our past projects our new projects and our future projects coming down the pipeline are bringing fresh opportunities attracting new businesses and uh creating jobs for our Aviation Community solidifying the airport's role in uh growth for leeburg this progress would not have been possible without the support of so many so I want to thank my fellow Commissioners our past commissioners the city manager and our city staff and our Advisory board our Aviation engineers and all of our partners your efforts Have Been instrumental in making this project a reality finally I want to take a moment to recognize Tracy Dean your hard work dedication have been a pivotal moment in this growth of this airport you've stepped into this role with little Aviation experience yet you've become an exceptional asset to this airport and our community through your determination to learn and Lead today we also celebrate well December 1st your 10th anniversary of service here at leberg International Airport we look forward to many more years of your leadership I have the privilege of inviting Tracy deup the manager Airport Manager of lebur International Airport to say a few words thank you there's a lot of layers of government here from Miss leeburg to representation from Daniel Webster's office and a little bit everybody in between I want want to welcome you to our groundbreaking after party you see it the contractor is Bulldog site works and Bulldog site work has done a lot of work for the city probably since maybe back to 2019 um all throughout the city this is their second project on Airport property um and I really couldn't be more thrilled at their performance and their entire their entire outfit the avcon engineering group is handling Construction Administration and managing the project with me they are working under a continuing Services agreement for the airport I want to thank do they here um they were generous with Grant funds for this project which will eventually be the site of four vertical construction buildings there will be um one row of box hangers two new rows of tea hangers and a row of corporate maintenance hangers so this is is maybe the first of uh much construction that you'll see on this site um that'll be phased out and again I just want to thank you all for coming another person we' like to recognize that we're going to keep the program moving here and move over to the groundbreaking so if everybody's sitting down can come up we also need Jeb doson in the back there to come on up and get grab a shovel Jeb doson is representing Bulldog today Bulldog is the contractor who's doing all the work you see so this is kind of phase one and and if you see over here on the map the the the plan was to put together all the site work and then we're adding about four T four hangers and it's a combination of T hangers which which will house kind of the smaller airplanes single engine stuff and then we have the corporate hangers little bit bigger airplane and also uh provide opportunities for other industrial and business type opportunities here at the airport so the the board has been uh very very resourceful about using this Transportation Hub to also not just be a transportation H for aircraft but also as an economic development engine for the region so with that we're going to Dawn our hats here and and break [Music] ground I don't know fortunately or unfortunately that concludes our ceremony um I I can tell you that was probably one of the quickest groundbreakings we've had so that's a good thing right um maybe when we did the groundbreaking on Pine Street when it rained we should we could have been that long instead it today but in any case uh thank you for coming out and again I'll just close with a couple remarks about how exciting this is um this is actually my second Community uh where I've managed a uh a municipal airport and they provide such dynamic to your community as far as opportunity not just the aviation part of the community but also like I was earlier saying about the the opportunities for economic development and job creation I would say rough house here this this facility probably has upwards of 500 jobs total around the entire airport in that neighborhood um it's a significant investment in community um we have the villages hanger so many different businesses here so aside from all the airplanes you seeing going up down all the time it really is a lot of investment in the community and a very important asset to our community so uh the additional hangers that we're adding will definitely benefit the the the airport as well as the region so thank this will improve our uh our ability to to house planes uh commercial uh Endeavor here at the airport uh it's just it's good for the economy of lesburg well it you know it it it represents both uh I I I just call it entertainment FL you know guys who just want to have a plane and fly uh then also there's a commercial element to it so it'll improve the number of jobs that are uh that happen out here um it's just a a win-win for the city of leeburg yeah while the airport is rich in terms of investment and jobs and opportunity it provides the community it's not real it rich in the remaining land that we have uh so this is one of our last few undeveloped Parcels we've got some other pieces that have some mitigation and some some development hurdles that we'll eventually tackle to so it's probably better to say that this is probably one of the last low pieces of hanging fruit um and and we picked it to do one of the primary things which was to create box hangers so today Mark's uh getting ready the site for about six hangers six six buildings that are are going to come today is the the ground breing for all the infrastructure the the road Network the water the sewer those type of infrastructure things once all that's in place uh it should be probably we're hoping about miday to the end of May uh we'll move into the vertical construction and start putting up together the the first hangers and then construction of the hangers will come along as funds permit as we get other do monies um as as well as airport monies so that's the plan so these new hangers are going to be instrumental in the growth of our airport they're not only going to bring in private people's airplanes but they're also going to be bring in commercial use the transformation of this airport has been uh crazy uh our airport manager has done a fantastic job thank you to all the city commission all of our partners um these projects wouldn't be uh available to do if we didn't have our partners in those in these projects what a great day for lebur and here at the airport so we'll have uh four uh pad ready sites uh the first um hanger is for um commercial maintenance hangers and then we'll have a row of box hangers which are a little um larger than a tea hanger along the high highway there will be seven of those and then we'll have two individual buildings and each one of those will hold uh 14 T hangers so those are similar to the hangers that we already have here on the airport for the individual um private plane owners so we're building the infrastructure for four new hanger buildings that'll be built in the future so the infrastructure is the paving grading and drainage utility work so we'll be building some new taxi Lanes uh the utilities relocating water sewer power gas uh uh reclaimed water out of the building pad locations and establishing new service points for for the future hanger buildings to be built we've been fortunate enough to get dot funding to assist with this project so they have kind of a schedule you know they gave us the money they want to see it built um so we' got this out to bid early middle of last year the contractor is on site now you can kind of see behind me that there's been some dirt moved uh they're going to be on site for probably four more months just getting the the dirt called off in the pavement on the ground and that'll kind of lead into a bidding out of what hangers what buildings we'll build next so it's on schedule on Pace the contractor's been doing a great job and the weather's cooperating so it's nice to be doing construction this time of year
