with Geraldine so you have the floor sir I everybody so um we were looking for Hispanic heritage um thinking about doing Argentina um and uh so originally the date was going to be the 12th of October um but due to the fact that we're kind of playing with the idea of doing it at the Roberto Alonzo Community Center um the availability would have to be on a Friday um so if we did it on a Friday it would have to be you know around that 6:00 p.m time frame to 900 p.m. um and I think that's probably the best location for it based off of what I heard I mean I didn't attend last year's event so I don't know how I heard about 150ish people 120 there you go so based off of that size that seems like the the proper size location um and I think if we promote it with enough time we can get a good turnout um so that's why kind of that's why we kind of wanted to jump in on this and try to get a head start especially to put it all together um I believe our budget is 3,000 then um so uh I spoke to gaos um Market in Miami Lakes and got some pricing they're going to send me a complete quote still waiting for that but um they have mini and pinadas um masas which are like little sandwiches that could be cut into three um she said that would be a good option for us um a aoris which are like these little dessert um sandwich things um and then obviously we were thinking about like drinks and stuff wines Malbec and ton tones are the wines that they kind of drink um and then ma Yuba which is the the hot drink that they like their cofin um you're talking to a um and then in terms of entertainment I got a couple different quotes and I'm still getting quotes from people um found Argentine folkloric dance which I have a video of if you guys want to see what that looks like um super cool $200 I thought was was a great price three dancers for 13 minutes um and the how much 200 200 yeah um and then I also because I feel like people kind of expect Tango for Argentina I feel like it would be beneficial to have a Tango couple as well um and the hope is that they're going to interact with the crowd a little bit um and um so either either with taking pictures with people or even just like getting people to dance a little bit I think that would be kind of nice um so yeah I have those three quotes I have 600 for um a tangle couple 20 25 minutes with guest interaction I have video of them as well I have a third option of Tang the Dan which was 700 and then I had an even more expensive which was $1,000 for a couple so it just kept going up will be for how long it's 20 to 25 minutes they will stay with us for an hour or anything that's your time pretty much yeah 25 minutes that's it what the interaction would be during that during that period so they' do a performance and then they kind of interact with the cow and stuff right Justin what's a plus Grove was just that's the company oh okay let him finish the presentation what you wanted to say yeah I just wanted to say you also said there's a dance um there's a dance studio in Coral where we could get it maybe I I can check don't okay yeah and I was going to call as well just because they can do it for fre like that Spanish Dan last yeah that would be great that would be ideal so um but I think it would be beneficial to have both because the folklor is very like very unexpected most people aren't going understand what that is but it' be different and interesting to to teach people about right and then having the Tango will be what people are going to expect obviously right um let do we have an embassy [Music] in to contact just finish and we'll okay all right okay um and obviously since the venue already have all the tables I just thinking we get the you know the plastic um table CS go there we can get like flag Center pieces um I was thinking to do um maybe some like informational banners with just like um some kind of like highlights or like facts about Argentina that would be interesting you know um just something visual that people can see throughout the space um and then I also um thought I have a projector as well and um an uplighting so I can uplight the whole room and in the colors of Argentina and we can maybe project um you know a video presentation as well for people um so it has a little bit of everything for it nor what we do every year videos different different countes perfect yeah and then um down on the bottom I just kind of did like like a rough idea of what we'd be doing 6 to 6:45 guest checking in grabbing food having the video projected um 645 of 7 I was saying maybe we do like a like a welcome introduction and maybe that could be somebody from the embassy or something that would be kind of cool to have somebody who really connects with Argentina um and then have the performance interaction maybe that first group and then doing you know into the second performance and then kind of uh you know ending the ending the event after that um yeah that's that's what I have so far I again I'm still kind of getting pricing and stuff from everybody that I try to get as much as I could in terms of pricing um but at least if I know that everybody's kind of in agreement with this I can kind of run and just kind of really push to get some more concrete motion to approve the program um we can make comments afterwards but the country which is what the main thing yeah we had this and I mean I was looking at my notes and we we submitted this or I submitted this back in think January February and it was stable so at least we that going so um anybody want to make a motion regarding the country or we can amend I would like to make a motion to select Argentina as a country for the Hispanic heritage uh event this year okay second here they uh you know I U there was a comment by by CL I want to say her name because she she she said to me that we had grown the space that we needed to do it in a bigger space that's why you know but again doing it at Roberto alono is it's kind of like I know Roberto is Miami L but it's too it's too far from from from the Town Center which is normally like we like to bring people into town Which is far but people know that one too is closer yeah and uh or maybe if we if we can do the you know the something inside and something outside here we have a nice Plaza outside we can have you and in the front I think it will free the rest of the floor we have the line bar whatever elev also brought things and there was a long line of people serving fromo because they took a while to serve there so that's what caus so yeah we we need to have someone money the food you know I know we did it with with the last time and everybody had like to do brings and and so forth with so people yeah at different stages to come out we didn't have a long night so I mean I like I said even though we may have Unown the space I think it was because of that because of the setting of the vas because it was going to be outside people were going to go outside to to eat yeah we change our mind we change your mind so um that that's you know that's what I I think'll be you know it'll be closer you have a good crowd because you have people coming in I know if we um we we sell out and and then there some people show up some people don't and then you know people that some of them are having a lot over over 200 people signed up in event right and 128 was and with the walks with the walk with the walks 128 so just that that's you know that's from experience that's what we've done and I know this is new for you too and I appreciate your effort for all that but uh thank you and and again if we do it in Mary Collins then we would do the round tables we could do that and I think more or less like 10 tables would been there I don't think any more than 10 we do 16 for the Bengal and they 16 for the Bal okay so are we're going to have chairs and the tables too yeah you do that we have do we have a TV have a small no he mentioned he would bring this Pro yeah I have a projector and and sound system and stuff I would need anything other we have a sound system well there you go you don't have to so looking at so just so be clear because I know you mentioned the comment just doing the motion again it's not making the motion again I just want you guys to be clear on what you're voting what's on the table right but in reality we're not voting on a location just yeah because her motion was to approve as propos by Justice that was the first motion that's the motion that's on the table motion you can if you want to so what you propos it's this yes thiser that's the motion on the table the main thing here is it's Town Hall available in October okay so we're still in discussion so for October town hall is available for Saturday um you guys have availability for October 5th and October 12th um just so you know though be uh before you guys move on in your discussion if you do it here as Felicia mentioned earlier you guys have outgrown the space so um if you do it here you're going to have to make some changes because it's not even safe to host it in the manner that it was hosted last year so if I I just took a walk to council chambers the capacity there says 21 however keep in mind it's 21 if you have no tables in there right so if it's like a standing room right but once you start adding tables which is normally what happened or has happened in the last few years then you take away St check the codee is no no but if if you want to put any table inside you're taking away from that 200 but we always put the high high tops always so that's the thing that Tak so that's what I want you guys to keep in mind and really the best way to do it with the amount of people that you're going to um attract which is normally that's a called you attract you wouldn't be able to have anything in and I don't know if that's ideal that's for you guys to decide because then where are you going to put the performers and where are people going to eat [Music] right and then the mar you have any ID that's available I have to check I don't know the answer for that right now yeah I only know Roberto Alonzo because Justin had asked me now the thing with Mary Collins we would have an expense to rent tables and chairs not if it's the ones that we have oh okay they have tables they have yeah it's if we're bringing an extra that we don't have the thing that happened last year more than anything is that when we put the rows of chairs so that the elderly can sit down because the majority of them did sit down and then we had to bring out more chairs to put around the room and I think that's what took so much space because if you have people just standing around then that's fine but you can't expect them to stand around the whole time yeah for standing room it fits to 11 right but that was the key those three rows and then I had to bring chair perform right right the walls because they were complaining that they didn't have a place to sit down so if we if we do a layout it's say sitting around the room because I know they they had him in the front of course to see the performers and then around the I don't think we had in the back uh it was more like a you right and then the center was is is H we have to see you know I can do a quick layout of we can but um I just want to give you guys a head up with with enough time that you have 30 minutes left of your meeting right okay well but the thing is like the location is important the other the other alternative if you're looking at uh I guess here in town hall is you would also limit again I also think the use of the space of the hallway as you mentioned the b or whatever other vendors you had out there the reality is that I think you guys got too excited last year we had a bunch of vendors and realistically we can't like it takes away the space so then you would have to limit right when it comes to like performers and tables and stuff like that so if you're okay in limiting that then you can make it happen in here but it cannot be done in the same way that it was last year because it's way too crowded so I guess that's up to you guys on what you guys Envision to look like so the ven is GNA be just one person right nothing um well food would be one and then um I mean the rest the wine would be some can do [Music] that think we used this was the layout last year SP see so count how many of the ks we had 12 and yeah yeah could you check if if Mary Collins is I can't tell you right now I have to check you check to see sure but I will say I maybe I'm understanding wrong but I think the point of this meeting was to decide so that we can move forward with's going to be way for three weeks and we only have like very little time when he comes back this the only reason I put I put that out there is if I have to go back and check and I'm not I'm not able to give you an answer right now on that but that's okay but if you could check to see and on that then we're not moving forward with promoting the so the idea is is to because I know the reception and I don't want I think one time we use that to serve the drinks and then we can have the food in the elevator area so it free the whole Lobby which I don't know how we're going to use that for because entertainment it's going be inside so some people are going to be sitting in the lobby I mean I know just because they is um so it's organizing you know where where the activities are going to be occurring I think that's that's but the thing is the location the time now the time is fine the time and the date and the location the other thing is limiting uh the the event right not only that though because we do limit it based on what you guys tell us but it's the unfortunate part would be limiting it when people get here right because you do have you do have people that show up and you're going to have to unfortunately tell them if we are at capacity yes unfortunately you're going to have to turn them away yeah if you decide to do it here because I know that and I will say in terms of advertising I don't want to scare you guys because from experience this event isn't one that you even need to work that hard at advertising because it sells itself right it that's not the case with all events but for this one it is yeah see there was 128 total right and 63 were the ones that register on event right 63% like walk so the other ones will walk in that happens to us all the events you know but you're not going to have all that food for just 63 people 63 event price seven commit we can do is limit it to 80 and then plan [Music] for just look for 100 100 yeah look for 100 instead of 200 we had 200 last time yes yes everybody we had two 200 or 250 I can't remember I would you guys to make a decision so that you can move forward with the other details of the event because if not I think you're spending too much time like you know stting the same things over and over well have to know you know what we had last year so um I don't know or risk it and do it in rerto Alo and then see what happens what the of people and they know because of theing that they they go to bingo there if you so they know we RTO yeah but we're not doing the EV for the elderly people we're going I know I understand that but your concern is that you feel that they're not going to know where to go and it's on a Friday we did an our Bassel event here one time on a Friday I think or we I me it was a l turn because you know people have to drive here right when we've done like events on on the chamber you know like uh we've done you know quing me for the neighborhood oving committee and and other get some Hispanic heritage is one that again you don't have to like than for this one people really do like okay um so I'm positive that you can get some sponsorship dollars just to help offer that yeah um I will mention and I I know you guys are a little bit newer but sponsor dollars are not supposed to be used to put on the event the idea of them is to elevate the event so anything extra that you would maybe want that you don't have enough funding for so I would say you guys should probably just stick to your Basics today and then come ready with hey if we're able to get that extra money like this is a that we can add like this is maybe a we I would so we can you know start forming the [Music] EV like what would be your base for like for the food I would say right like also you expence you think H you think to say like more no more than I don't think you need to be more than 1700 I don't really [Music] do ENT so what we need to play for entertainment yeah last time left but here we have to Pi entertainment if you find me a guy maybe I can dance tangle with thank you and you said like for example sponsorship would that would that could that count towards an entertainment but I am looking for maybe some typical desserts and then Baba is what I was told why don't you get something back you know the Baba sal sal something sweet so that's why but I'm going to go to that market anyway get an idea because then I think that would work well my budget is only $200 so I don't have much to work with but I know I can get the cheese and uh and the crackers and then everybody who's going to go pick up the food I'm picking gonna pick it up at 6 is that okay and then he go directly to the church yeah because at 5:00 they have requested and I got a call from y um the lady from the church that um request that they open the the church at 5:00 because they knew they need to do the sun check so um I I we be there to make sure that they open and then we can pick up the stuff at six and we I mean the the I think we need to be there by between 6:30 6:45 because people so it has to be like the the concert starts at 7:30 uh everything starts basically at 7 and and then we'll we'll be fine the the door the door opens at 7 at 7 open at 7 and and then we we serve the food no food inside everybody have to eat outside and um that's it simple question is the Symphony of Americas restricted exclusively to residents of Miami Lakes or can I know it's sold out but I I sent another batch of emails today because people have oh sold out show up to show up because you know everyone I'll make it quick um through the citizens crime watch of County we've been able to bring back the rad class uh rape defense rape aggression defense class um it's three days it's going to be in Royal Oaks Park uh September 3rd through the 5th it's from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and it's completely free it's a women's self Defence women's self defense class specifically uh 14 and over uh if they're minors they need to come with with a parent specifically for women uh very condensed self-defense class that is by the women that have attended they've all said is amazing because you learn a lot in a small amount of time so um it's the first one it's the second one the first one was was cancelled to some a conflict uh this is the first one we're going to be able to have in the in the town and hopefully we're going to continue having some more I want to bring them to the schools uh to the elementary schools I have one for kids but this one specifically for women and and it's going to be those three days free of charge you just have to sign up with um with citizens crime watch and their uh the town of Miami Lake's already put it out in their website so if if you go to the site and find it there it gives you a link to to where to call and and set up email or call them directly and because you have to sign up for the class Robin can you give us the detail again is they did Jonathan was he be able to this is the first time I'm hearing of it so I'd have to go back and check with him but I'm sure if you if you were give it to him or Carousel they they okay yeah I emailed what what I was told I'm going to attend so that I can see how it is so I can then bring it back and but I was told that what happens is they give you a technique they show you the technique and then you do the technique as best as you can okay and then um um some of the guys they dress up in a big suit and then you go as hard as you want yeah you know you take out that aggression all that stress
