e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e you're the oneing you got come out here all right all right good evening everyone um we're gonna go ahead and start we uh neighborhood Improvement committee is uh June 17th 8:41 call meeting to [Music] order I'm happy to take notes awesome thank you you hear the silence all right you want to go ahead and call [Music] okay Mario nice so we have a corn we're going to go ahead and move on to item number three order of business the pro addition delions and we have a pretty uh vent agenda so anyone like to add anything else um yeah I want to make a motion to move up item 8D after six item 8 D L your part pain um after six but we have to do it you mean to start a new business or you want to move it all the way up yeah [Music] okay so we'll move it to item 68 I oh wait do I that you say that right right any addition any addition ones uh new business uh um dumping illegal dumping on Perimeter Road by bman I would presume that would be the D no e because e even though you still moving Still Still the original illegal ilal dumping on perimet road by bar exactly 9 second so illegal dumping on 9 second half and then on the Northern side it's a little bit of 91st there like a little Bend there is it that b dumping on 9 the bush there so covers everything it's unfortunate I'm gon so start illegal dumping on 92nd Avenue by Gman that to [Music] say is that okay Mar okay is there any others well we're still I still we're still yeah we're still all at once yeah we're still yeah we had a motion and we had a second okay I second marker anything else all right so you want to read your oh you have one yeah I think they took us about the lake lake awareness is there put I can add the information that I from when it comes that time of course okay so you had a motion by hen a second by one two to move up item 8D to 6A and then we're going to combine with a motion from Mario to add under new business AE and was second by ju any additional information details no addition deletion all in favor say I I I against the guys have it [Music] all right we're moving along um to number [Music] four probably comments anyone from the public that would like to com that's me that's me hello everyone I'm way Perez I'm the chairman of the veterans committee I'm here upon the request of the mayor and councilman v um during my presentation to the uh Council um I thought up two issues that we are working on the veterans committee and they get with you guys the neighborhood Improvement committee so we can coordinate efforts um the first one is dealing with the electrical boxes um that's over around P till he so we have a sponsor who was willing to wrap them in patriotic themes um and so actually I happened to see that and uh we asked him how many he was kind of like well how many do you need I'm like how many do you have but uh um so we're going to try to pin him down but I'm trying to figure out what is the process in the town who do I need to get with if I may disrupt you uh uh oh didn't the town already yeah that's why I'm I'm not conflicting information yeah the I the town already picked the boxes we were we had the spear headed yeah but you're talking about traffic control box it's the same thing he talking about Transformers the Transformers are traffic there's only one type of box that we can actually I guess we have like the authority so um what I am thinking is that maybe those uh the original four maybe are different than the ones those for folding because there's more than four as we know it's actually not mine it's what the May actually up to us want to do this right the reason that I'm um I don't have any any feedback on you right now is because um as Nic knows um we discussed at the last meeting Council had given um direction to staff to actually um wrap four of them okay and identify which ones and they've already been identified and two of them happen to be veteran Fe okay it maybe we already um we're double tap so yeah that's why sounds sounds yeah because we were we were going to pick him and everything and then we were well then that's good I don't have to thank you however um I'm happy to connect with you to maybe get the information on the artist because I think we had somebody uh that we had already asked if they were available and they said yes but I don't know if the cost um was already discussed because we were waiting on actually funding from maybe the sponsor yeah so at that point that's is he can I mean but I mean it's all a matter it's all a matter of the to the town has a list of them which they pick the ones they want to uh share them with apparently he did SEO in in some other town like high so there's some in know arst seen really bad ones I have too I've seen really bad ones saw one when you when you go to the pen Mall the one is very nice but I I don't know some of them is like like uh it's like repetitive I mean I like the ones that we did previous are beautiful well I'm GL I'm here so we can DEC conflict and we can maybe unify our efforts because you know I don't want to work in Conflict you know have Jonathan doing something and then maybe we're double tapping maybe we're not so what I'll do is I'll get I and CC Jonathan you know the point of contact um and uh I already asked Jonathan whether or not he called him but he's running around with yeah so you know it's uh he's gonna get to it um so anyway yeah I'll follow up in an email you okay and I can location just so you know which ones um because the idea was that the ones that were going to be veterans we're obviously going to be in the boxes that were near places where it need yeah like the police station will the police right so I was R the fire fire no I mean if we could do more that'll be side flag all of yeah we'll put them you know there's a chance these are four additional right so we're just trying to no we the town wanted to do four perhaps uh the veterans could get his sponsor to do more yes well so we get the funding for those and I have a spons the sponsor through the ex okay but if we don't get funing then maybe that sponsor can help those initial good for you guys to get they just look generic or just dull I mean we did the original one before we had a local artist but the thing is that we they try to approach her but she doesn't do she does more like Landscaping landscap understand like I said we need to find out the one that they did find arst and then see they can well I'm sure the town Aon could just town to town just ask what did they use very creative artist know South Florida that familiar with that [Music] thing then okay so two there's two tasks two first task is me to send I the email you know letting her know who the sponsor is or guy who wants to pay the second task is asking them to go to temper times folks and see who their artist was and hopefully we'll close the and we will figure out whether or not we can do more that'll be awesome all right the second thing my have the comment is and Council dieo asked I guys what we're trying to do at veterans par is um right now we have these trees and buildings that are dedicated people you know like Mar Fallin and have some trees that have bricks that folks um I want to create kind of like a virtual uh Town history like virtual Museum and so the idea is to use QR codes so you have a QR code and and then the name you know like we're dedicating Pilan be Gary card so it'll be sergeant Gary Cardis US Army then a QR code take the good thing on the code and it pulls up complete bio complete bio his pictures when he was in the Army then what he did afterwards you know volunteering with the town working as a cross guard all those things kind of gives a full picture same thing with like Mary Collin same thing with Berto Alonzo same thing with um every single brick that we have that way it's not like I'm looking at this brick and I had the name on I'm like who the heck was this guy Mar cins I was like who was Mar I don't know you know and because yeah you can't you know but it it'll be nice to have all written out you know same thing with uh um a bunch of you know like Robert Alonzo building Etc all those things real QR code and we can have basically the creation of a historical Branch you know I think that will go through our whoever our web designer is because they could probably there's actually a what's the vendor we use for uh for the awards the uh EAB vcv va va I know VA also has created for the um the cars procure they have those uh QR codes right they have them so we key CH correct the idea is you just need a sponsor at the end B but get going to be able to create because he could create it for you however you want right um but you just you're gonna have to sit with him and see what the price is and get a sponsor oh a VR and the hosting of the page yeah yeah well the page will be hosted in the Miami Lakes stuff you know and I think you know Jonathan actually knows how to create QR codes exactly right with to include photographs and everything that way you know it's more living it's more like a living Memorial you know it's like you don't look at it and you go otherwise you just have a plaque and it has like five lines you know and that's they tell you what they did you know don't tell you who they were what do you propose like um would the family send a paragraph or pictures like what's the I guess I an autobiographer or well I mean the phases of the phases of this the phases of this thing is first identify what trees we have and what buildings we have dedicated folks I already reached out to Parks and Recreation I talked to Thor and yeah he's St to me and uh know he's on public record St but uh and he he asked whether or not the trees he goes we have a listing for the buildings obviously but not the trees so an inventory so exactly the first phase is do an inventory of all the dedicated trees and all dedicated and all the you know concrete you know bricks that they have then the next phase is once we have them located once we have them pinned once we have them you know I guess pins are you know on a map and stuff like that the next phase is reach out to family members so we can then get an official bio of some sort and photographs um what I doing is I'm reaching out to the Boy Scouts because they do Eagle Scout projects and they do projects and they do community servic and to see whether or not one of them wants to take part of it on like the inventory part and then somebody wants to maybe start you know creating the contact list of next of kin Etc and then we can reach out to them and get some kind of B I I I don't think you know kind of time is kind of the essence because for some buildings it's named after folks quite early and folks you know who may remember them and stuff like that unless they had an official bio because they were government service where they have to have offal bio it's going to be difficult for them to have now but we will get to that verion cross that bridion yeah so but from the Nic perspective what would you like for us [Music] um some things you guys do so and he asked me to talk to you so we're great listeners so right that coming from you right um so uh so one thing that I if it hasn't been thought in that process definitely I mean you can find out what exactly is it that he you know he's looking for us I mean ask him listen I know you told us for the neighborhood Improvement but what exactly can the neighborhood Improvement right assist or support or or bless it together with us um but I think one good thing if you are if it is going to be because it's not just going to be veterans like be anybody and he says you know because some of the a lot of the trees are dedicated to Veterans actually not that many you would be surprised but you know and then and then some of the trees are dedicated to you know local food T fantastic but the buildings are mainly dedicated to public servants public servants you know not non veterans you know so I guess that's why he wants me to coordinated with you guys because you know maybe he wants us to get TI in the history of the town with some of these building exactly or maybe come up with a creative word to incorporate beautify the trees one of the ones that I was one one of the comment that I was going to bring up if if it is if it is going to be web based out of the T of Miami Lakes website yeah it would be good if we are pinning them to create some kind of map that's the idea right on the website so I don't have to actually walk at the park I can just log in and boom click on the p and all a it BR it brings out the b of that person so not necessarily walk around the park and you know have to yeah so you can either have it you have I'm saying one or the other but I'm saying in addition still links you to the same place exactly right so yeah we already talked about that that you could have it pinned and it's it's a map and then basically you can see whose trees where so you could be a family member who lives in Kentucky that you know and they can see their tree whatever for us to do help we would have to identify the ones that are outside of the veterans perspective like the local for ones that are dedicated you handle that we can we could come and then see but at the end of it's gonna be a sponsor come back money yeah why can't we just use our house web designer to fix we got $2,000 for the QR codes right there okay and I don't think I think that's going to be handle all the QR codes in the pinny um be honest with you and the QR code when you say QR codes like it would be like a little sticker it will be basically it will be like a metal like that this a little metal thing about this size you know think the material yeah it's going to be metal definitely outo be St St in and you know it's going to have the person's name and then it's going to have a QR code okay and we price some of those and they're like 44 bucks to make can we make the ship of a pound make sure that it's weather okay be weather yeah be aluminum clarification to the chair you me real quick my only question on the maintenance side me thinking from where how are you going to make sure if it's stake that it's not Vandal Proof that's my concern somebody pulls it wants to thr them around or somebody's a joker wants to start swapping them around 80 pounds of concrete well you fix it concrete set it in concrete that's the names right now where the plaque Ed there so most probably your budget needs to go up and redo those plaques and embed that c I don't know there's some bricks are just laying there next to trees and then some of them are signs just little signs that are pushed in those are the those are the those are the the veterans ones I think that went through the Veterans Affairs committee U but all of our bricks family tree and anything that's also um on our side of veterans should be bricks L okay that's that will raise the cost starts to chew them up okay that sounds good so we we'll I mean so we got 2,000 bucks to uh do this right now and if we need to allocate more now okay I think it's a beautiful project how um can you update us when you find out more it's like a scout does pick up the project or oh yeah I plan to I plan to meet with the troop uh 566 tomorrow tomorrow night and then me can you get us just a list of any of the buildings that are named out there are there just two no no it's not that easy Mar people are that not veterans so there streets that are to we have street signs we Hammer we have fedal AE also has a tree also and then inside Mary Collins you also have the uh honorable Hall and you also have the association you know but you know what we could we could um pin streets you know like I mean not put a QR code because I don't want people then have to buy it the good thing about the streets is like bu resolution so that's easy to find or relatively easy you can you can do a pilot with the buildings and see a few of them see what traffic and attention gets and then from there start building and then if we have dedicated rooms in each building we can just get a little QR code and put it for that building in that room outside in that person's name yeah at the marry cols they have the when the Civ Association was basically started down and and because you know they were sort of like different presentation and they they gave Awards to The prominent residents who have contributed with theic Association and they have a little stars on the wall yeah right behind Ernie's office Ernie Des yeah so so that's something that you know those are people that are no I mean I I knew some of them I don't know if they're still alive but um is something that you know you have to take into consideration well yeah I mean but right now I I don't want to honor everybody who has a plaque um because out do just start getting really huge you know I think if they have if they were a tree dedicated to them a room dedicated to them a building dedicated to them you know let's see if we can do that first it's easier I think I think I think the town also wants like a Hall of Fame in the uh in the chambers really yeah the sportsall of Hero wall of Heroes so I I love this I think give us an update and I think um I you talking about update you guys are going to take care of the ones who are non- veterans raise his hand he just said that I heard you did you hear that you head already buddy there's not there's more than two there's trees and there's streets and and there's rooms Jeremy can you give me a list of how I already asked him said she take on the uh the counting or the emailing for I'm sure we can find it we have to go back before mun so we'll go back in QuickBook like the easiest thing is you guys have the easiest ones you have buildings and rooms yeah and streets you know and some trees few trees I only know [Music] Rosa I don't but there's probably then the other ones are just a bunch of Jakey Spar Jakey dookie you have hey thanks for taking that on not g away Josh Fel Felicia just collaborated I mean to your meeting agenda to make sure you make a proper motion it's properly discussed a motion be made I don't think you can motion as but we will let's let's let's public H any nothing else to offer thank you very much you sure app all right anyone else from the public seeing none public comments are closed so uh let's go to the minutes approval that everyone had an opportunity to review the minutes from 417 that's the clarification on seven [Music] it's noted motion Mar to approve motion to approve second any other Corrections comments see done all in favor say I I I [Music] right all right the eyes against no the eyes haven't minut it's approved uh number six staff updates um bringing back an old item or an item that was discussed a couple months ago related to continuing the workshops for you thank you um the rain barrel Workshop we were waiting um one of their sta out of office she's now back and she's helping me um confirm the new date for you guys she told me that they would have availability week of October 7 week of October 7 so once I have that date finalized I will share with you guys one of those all my other updates are related to your items think it's turn no it's the water B went to tree [Music] and okay all right thank you Al we're moving on to item 6A linear part wait wait wait oh yeah appreciate um I know I was goingon to go ahead and put up real the presentation but first and foremost uh I want to thank you um for allowing me to jump in your guys' meeting today um good to see a lot of familiar faces uh for those of you who don't may not know me I'm Jeremy backdown the director of Parks and Recreation for the town um we are in the real preliminary phase of evaluating a concept uh for grant that we're going to apply for um and part of that we want to make sure we kind of start we had an idea this project has been on books for a while um I think it's really applicable I think it's going to be a strong project for this grant that we're going to go after um but before we start actually putting down a set plan um as always we want to get public input um because it's FS because it's something to beautify to enhance um one of the first committees I want to make sure meet with was with you guys and then because of it geographic location I'm also going to meet with uh the economic development committee soon um but what I'm going to go through real quick is the idea of a linear Park um [Music] oh so the goal here is uh to develop in a area that is actually commercial completely um and the goal is going to be to connect it to our existing Greenways and trails master plan you guys do a lot of bike tours um the goal here is to activate an area right now um that is severely underused but more importantly is going to be if you look at the density of our Parks yes we have 104 there are none along our eastern border so the goal here is to go ahead and take this now right away that was transferred over to us by the um thank you it was transferred over to us by the county um and go ahead and just activate it and create a recreational opportunity here um but there's some more things other than just the basic plan which is what I'm looking at right now um and what the gr is going to really cover so we're talking on the south so it's the southeast corner of the Town it is 139th Street and then heading up North along 57th Port that is that is that space under you I'm gon have to move this I had to move this where am I gonna move it to I think you could just pick it up and drag it can I yeah so I think you it no Ed but no let get up there that's fine so as you see here H this is literally the southeast quadrant of the town this is 139th and over here you have 57th Court the goal would be to activate all of this green open space here to create a linear Trail and bike path the good thing about it and kind of where our ideology came from was was trying to connect to the 60th a connection that's already here and it's already part of our green W Greenways and trails master plan the park right now is just set for a half mile pathway all the way around with a loop coming back set at 10 ft wide um so that it can be uh multiuse I'm looking multi-use pathway um along along the path we'll have some benches trash cans and one shelter right now um that we're looking at putting on the corner over here any any of the dog cats for the the trash right now not not not anticipating to have any dog wasts we can that's that's something that we can put that's something we can put the goal here though is to kind of push for the recreational use the active use Wellness Health jogging biking not so much that's what K9 Cove is for and kind of an actual area that's dedicated for dogs now obviously down the road we start to see the use becomes a little more four-legged friendly we can always install those moving forward so be parking for par no it would be it would be simply a linear park that has no parking and the goal is that you you would bike or walk to yeah the the second part of it is also it's activating this area but there's a huge there's a huge indust potential here for all these employers here to also help and that's something that I want to talk about later on in the presentation is the goal might be to have some of them partner because having healthy employees is obviously going to be better for them as well so they can use it for lunch break walks lunch break uh lunch breaks on at the picnic um picnic shelter at the benches here facing out on the canal um and that's kind of where we're at now like I said it's very preliminary um yes this is South just south of the cemetery so and then you make it cross over 60th or no so yes let me go back so go west yeah so over here so over here it connects and then we would have to go ahead and make a crosswalk that eventually then connect to the left side the east side I mean the west side of 60th is where the bike path is I love it yeah there's already there's already this is where see there's a b our green W green waves and trails Master PL goes St goes over here police station is way up North yeah yeah we're we're the edge between us and Burg King yeah no Burg on the other side yeah the Burger King on the other side oh there's one South there's a Burger King South of the canal right down right over here so so that's 57 right 57th is right here okay okay if you want I can also Point here there's like a halfway house right it is the corner of the Town corner of the Town yeah just on the inside of the canal there's a lot of people that fishing in there yes they do one it's an industrial area you wanted to beet to uh sunrise to sunset we want to light it just remember that that then attracts more use at night the only reason I say lighting I remember there was a u liability no there was a pathway like this in theal right um by uh my Canal as well and it uh it attracted people you know they Jog and they start jogging and they the night falls on them and it attracted uh predators to you know kind of like attack women and stuff so they they created some lighting for man but uh you know lighting could be a concern perhaps maybe not such big light you know the ones you have at uh emergency or even solar power ones solar powers or something yeah I know in uh I hear your point but if you put lights people are going ATT trct but not having lights at all or something or or the little light say you have mer Collins yeah so the similar to I don't know if you guys have all visited around the border of uh Miami Springs they have long has a ton of so that's something we can look at I know that right now I can tell you that Grant wise as far as far as like phase one which is getting the the the the trail in getting the shelter and getting the benches I know it wouldn't be feasible but you'll see in a little bit I'm going to ask you guys for some of just that what are the future ideas that we can expand on this because one of the things I want to talk to the grantour is yes while you're granting us this money just for this initial concept we already have ideas for the next set and the next thing we want to do so the goal is kind of keep using this this funding as well moving forward with them as long as it stays aligned which this project does align a lot with their pillars I know we got years ago for the Luminous remember the mlo yes 17 that been used yeah well 170th is heavy used uh they I have I don't frequent it too much in the evenings lately um but I know it does get used now I don't know if that section alone they build that outside the miam you think about it yeah it's long 170 it's just beyond the that's what very nice I mean I think we we pick the actually I was in that that group that they we Pi the winner for that but I like I said I haven't even there to see no I mean what what we've seen a lot now is actually the schools out uh the I think matter Lakes Track Team is constantly using 170 F they're cross country and track I love that yeah they're constantly for so that's the main users but then you also have F USA I believe they run out of veter out of a Veterans Park and they do 5K 10ks throughout town and then Danny runs out of G um what is it um lungs for Danny Dan L so there's a good amount of use on most of our Trails this would just be another another facet of that of that master plan I like so the the purpose and kind of what got us there originally was obviously providing outdoor recreation opportunities pushing for that Health pushing for um the encouraging of of of further recreational use of lands that are kind of underdeveloped um obviously this would enhance its current state which is just grass a good amount of palm trees which long-term maybe we look at foresting a little better um adding more natives um obviously like I mentioned it aligns with our Town's green whales and uh Trails master plan so it's not just the recreational side but it's also a transportation aspect too because it kind of in ties is more people to bike and there's more bike friendly areas throughout the town and then like I mentioned Ser an area with no nearby green Parks or green spaces all of the I don't have a parts map here right now but uh that entire Eastern leg that's all kind of commercial there is zero parks along that portion of town so this would be adding uh at least one new amenity to those areas uh some of the components I talked about it's a half mile the full L um is a half mile so if you were to do the entire back and forth you'll complete the mile shelter benches picnic tables trash cans and then wherever um the trail got too close to the canal um and it starts to meet FDD requirements because there's bikes now on there as well we'd have to put some wooden uh rail fencing for protection reasons keep moving so these are just some of the ideas it'll be a winding path we try not to make anything straight in nature nothing is is 90° angle nothing is that's that's another aspect um to look at what we're gonna actually place um the benches and the trash cans would be part of the town's already kind of pallet we already have that part of our many pars program um so there should be uniformity throughout the entire town with all of our benches and our trash cans yeah we don't want homeless people I don't think they're allowed and then the this is the portion where I kind of talked about some of the ideas we had mov be forward um if this is the project we're going to pursue if this is something that I think is uh going to get through the the grant process is we can work like I said with these companies maybe exercise stations and maybe we get them sponsored by the local uh employ employers there because like I said you can put your logo on the wherever that exercise station is uh Ola cigars or the pharmacy I believe there's a a Pharma company Otis is in that corner over there ctis elev I'll the elevator at metronics yeah so then you can sponsor an exercise station that way we can continue adding more recreational and exercise uh components eventually water fountains landscape enhancements curbing all of that border both 139th and 57th and then art installations I know JP's on the line JP had a great idea JP wants to JP is our special projects manager in this corner here which is a corner that faces all of everyone entering the town eventually just a large 30 foot cow no there it is I'm just could made out of metal so there there is seem very nice ones uh I think the idea was something similar to uh Denver I think they have the large horse right near the airport Bronco Bronco a Bronco I love that's way I've seen artists that do stuff with wires and it could be something doesn't have to look like IDE only concern that I have the use I think there should be some kind of parking because you're basically I live in I live around never go out there basically not exclusive okay no I can like I said that's what we're here for I said JP's on the should be on the on the line taking notes a lot of this is also going to get discussed eventually we're going to go to a a public Workshop to the community um once we kind of finalize this we wanted to talk to you guys start the EDC first get some of these ideas uh look at ways we want to kind of tailor this um and then we can go with it so yeah something minimal even like a five 10 car parking just to have the residents from the far Corner explore the new Point okay so correct me if I'm wrong if I'm coming I'm coming from halia and I'm on Fourth I pass 138 which is 80 what 84 844 84 okay so if I'm if I'm standing right here right at that light Burger King is to my left you're saying it's going to be here and here left front yes the that's what say to the left right right right right all right down yes and out so so my only my only worry about that I yeah my only worry about that I see the space is safety sense of sense of you're talking about 57 people are coming pretty darn fast head south separates oh it's on the other this right here it's this grass for surei going to get that's the driver's got a it's be more anything it's going to be beautified the people that work there I I haven't heard lot time people that go work and go walk around great for that L this is right under the funeral yes up here just at this intersection up here it's just below yeah so the idea is great um my only concern is if if it was another area within more of a residential right um component in it this is really far isolated really far out the only people that are going to go there in my opinion live not even not even they're not they that's all 100% commercial 100 forget right andul so beautifying wise yes looking at it from you know 84 looking in wow it looks beautiful jery the use of a man that's going to be a tough one that's gonna be a really because I live on that side and and who's gonna go out of their way right to really and then if there's no lighting what point of the day is it going to be utilized you know really it probably be on the weekends if somebody's willing to go that far because I've seen it by the way I've seen the people that come which is the one that that goes in um so if I make a left on 84th that first light that you make a right that's 60th right there's a lot of people that actually I've seen it not a lot right let's just say I have four people I've seen that they they do go down on that new pathway right that is started all the way through there you know all you know through God knows how far it goes all the way to 67 all the way to4 to4 so I I would I would really really consider that area and see if there's other possibilities that it could be more you advice I just don't want to see you guys going through all this you know work and and just not be where it's at but if the brand is there andy right and and before somebody takes it we can definitely think yes but if we really want to look into people utilizing it I don't I don't see getting used much back there it's going to be similar to what we have on on 170th on 170th right that's I see people C has res in all over the place this is industrial there's there's no the nearest home remember the goal is to tie the goal here to tie the green Trails master plan so if I go back riding all the way like saying like the the ones that they did in uh sorry like uh what do you call this um The Gables that when we do that whole Bike To Work Day we go all the way from the station right but you can literally ride a bike all the way to correct I mean downtown the goal is to have a a non-vehicular transit system throughout the town so you can either walk it or you can you can run it you can play a bike so this is an extension like you mentioned so 60th AV we know is getting us and you're right it's good amount of people up and down I do see yes if you extend it the goal is it's adding more more protected areas for Walkers and for PR okay now the lighting may be a huge component as far as extending the availability for use that might be something that we can look at uh the parking it may be something that we talk to maybe after hours or depending on the the local businesses hours partnership with their parking so different things that we can take a look at because I know that mechanic they actually have a contract with the business right across the canal that they can exactly so yeah it's doable if you look at it that where the connection yes now you're can you know it's it's not Standalone yeah it's not meant to be Standalone I I wouldn't put the cat the uh the um the overhang and the benches I would that it just it's just going to draw the r yeah I wouldn't do the shelter because it's going to draw you don't want that there you're use when you say shelter like a shelter go to barue 12 12 12 by 12 en Clos pump no water pumps and and a picnic bench that's it the idea is that you would have lunch there and then yeah going keep going yeah now one of there's a rationale Grant wise why the shelter is being is being used you get more money because you HT it's it's more part of what some of the some of the uh elements that align with the grand uh request have we looked at another location within the town of Miami leag says as far as other unexplored not in high demand remember uh the demand for recreational spaces in this area is high we have 102 other Parks scattered throughout the town location um there are certain obviously there are certain most people think Grant first item we have to go up there's Parks as often but there are certain uh prerequisites that obviously don't allow a lot of other sites to be considered for too so this is one and like I said this is a project that we've kind of had on the books and have an idea of what we wanted to do over there um and this may be the time to use this grant to actually get it uh bring it to fruition I like it you no just this right here that's all I needed just input I want to make sure that there's nothing yet on our and you would add those trees or are those trees already there that are the ma those are all existing right now okay there's both there are some trees and some Palms that's my concern I guess like you always want shade I know that's expensive and that's the second that would be the second component can got to be careful we can yeah there's certain things we can the tree Clos to we would probably look to do it just like we do planting throughout town with later funding annual allotments of install tree installations we can do it phase by phase um but there's a good amount on the South Side there's a good amount of coverage um now as you go on the the the north to south uh portion of the leg on the east side yes that's strictly palms and less shade and that's something like I said we can look at at phase two or take it on an arbor approach only what is this exclamation point little black one uh it's a bench and then a small got so if the not received funding for it what does that look like for like start they working on right now we would anticipate commencement let see I have it it would be yes exactly um probably commencement of construction in October thank you October November construction if everything goes and we rewarded the grant this year yeah I'm sorry October November October November of this year so it would be a summer summer applicant the ground breaking the what you the ground breaking public invited the ground breaking so yeah I wonder know hard um I think that's pretty much so and then I think we talked about yeah landscape is huge right now I mean it's listed as we're putting concrete but we can take a look take a look at other porous uh permeable surfaces um the only thing we have to make sure is that it is on a slight incline towards the canalway so we got to make sure that per you don't have to worry about it but if it's not then yeah and and per should be a little bit easier also when we try to obviously we don't want to pull any eradicate any native trees so permeable were a little more flexible with tree roots and so forth so what material do we use on on that that was a a permeable asphalt but it wasn't just tar asphalt no no it was kind of yeah was I look that was through Public Works and safe school that wouldn't I would I mean if you have that kind of there wouldn't mind to continue that same plus you know the product we have his tollers yeah I'll I'll double check with public works on maintenance of it make sure that it didn't become a maintenance issue long term um but that's not a bad idea but I'm sure they did the homework make sure it wasn't going to be an issue I'm sure as well but now we have what maybe four years of it now so we'll have a better idea of what it's CS to maintaining no issues on sounds like a plan keep us posted um I think we definitely provideed some input lighting yeah I think we're going to put it back there may yeah 100% just like on parking will be no as far as using the existing roadway it's one way directional have you guys already uh sold into businesses or not yet so uh tomorrow I'm going to do the same presentation um uh with the uh Economic Development Committee okay so then that would be the next step on their end is to assist and as we go down if if there's nothing jarring there nothing out of this world that they think if we shouldn't be doing this um we'll take a look and see if they can assist me with putting me in contact then we can start making those those uh KN do yeah are you gonna look into doing the uh the Bike Company rental that rental company at this time just to create some kind of bike movement there [Music] a future bike route for the only problem that's also why I brought this the police the police not going to be right com bikes they just TR you guys along the street the street yeah the street they'll switch to their bike for the golf trail uhhuh there's no lights on but the golf cars have lights they have to have lights legal to be legal we go see the lights that you know build the the houses lit up and stuff that's what we do we get the business to light up yes yes Mr Jeremy or is there anything else that uh no I like I said I appreciate you guys' time I appreciate everything you guys do for the committee but also uh as far as I'm gonna give you my other right one second I have to find it um appreciate you guys time for everything you do here so I appreciate the input um and if there's anything else that comes to mind feel free to reach out feel free to let let us know like I said we're still preliminary we're still refining what our application to the grer is going to be um obviously all of this is budget yeah but um it's going to have to take uh consideration from what the budget is going to allow us to do um and if it may be two phases to knock out the full Trail we'll have to bifurcate into two different phases but the goal is like I said increase the recreational uh components increase health and wellness yes it may be reach to get some of these people but even if we get two businesses to start sending their employees on a mandatory 10minute walk yeah you're talking about health changing effects to people that maybe just in a factory the entire day and so forth so it's hard enough to get people to work for seven hours you think employeers are going to send their step will walk to 10 minutes good luck with that I would like to be part of that meeting where they officially approve that no no means we just got to go ahead and make them get out there no means just make them good out but um yeah if there's anything like I said I can do to assist you guys feel free to reach out a great idea I had an office in the sunr SP and I launched that new makes amount of people that want you know where they want right in front of B hospital no they and those places back there but I think it's closer to Miami Miami lak's way um that they walk but they got to walk from from the parking to their office I see that a lot happening I see it in the morning and I see it in the afternoon it looks like some of those buildings have another offsite uh parking I I would also check because I know when they did the luckily we save the trees because wanted to do that walk what is he name as of right now the name of the project is just is uh geographically okay consistent just so that the granter knows exactly what we're going to face yeah but that could be something down the road that we look at at am we can get a QR code in there too all right thank appreciate appreciate you guys time thank you guys awes all right we're going to go ahead and move on to new business old business oh sorry old business I'm like I saw these things that just wed up let me just go ahead and jumped all right we go to Old business item 78 wish to beautifi under pometto Express R and Northwest 154 Street cha and p i i I got to get back this on this one we still um um the last update was that that's a project that's going to be done when we're ready to do all both parts of it I don't know if I yeah we talked about that there's going to be a project underdone there so it's it's not going to be done I think the deadline they uh the feedback that they gave me was that that project is probably not going to be completed till end of Summer next year so until then you won't be able to move on that and we were wa they're going to change the the the center they're going to put back yeah that's a project I'm referring to would next sum nothing just continue to put it in every agenda from here to next summer to you guys I'm just giving you the last update in terms of what we can do I say we keep it in there keep it nice and fresh typically when it leads agenda it come right back it's no it actually doesn't it's it's very hard to keep track of it all right um Aiden Perry item 7B so we're going to go ahead um hel just table it table right for item of tabled yeah is that all I say that's it next one is 7B I'm sorry because I do have a question on that what is why are we tbling that I'm only asking because the last the last update on that was you guys identified the the areas and then um from council's end it sounded like they wanted us to put together like a possible sponsorship of maybe getting HOAs um involved and stuff like that but in order for staff to do that we need to know cost um that was the email that I uh shared with you in regards to asking remember you told me follow up with her yes that was the followup that was the followup that was so so but then at this point she move so what I mean by table that's just to keep it there so that way next mon I to give them the up because they're not aware of we had a price for for it all though no but this isn't in regards to just yeah she did wait wait wait I just I'm sorry I was still trying to write tell Helen about 7 a you were talking about B yeah you said SB right no no oh that would threw us off okay okay that's that's hold on it disabling item a yes yes okay then B and then go ahead now you're so B is you guys for staff to put together like sponsorship opportunity maybe getting the HOAs to fund that which is like the discussion to happen up is we need uh details of all the costs associated to that so I sent her a very detailed email what I need from her and she has not got when we presented to counil very receptive yeah and even said that he commit to sponsoring yeah but I thought we they provide the first 10 per right but I think I think what we were doing is we wanted to do a whole batch I'll email I'll share the email with all the specifics that we're asking from her so we can move forward on putting that together and the idea is just to have a cisive plan of what the cost actually is let's say she comes in and does those initial ones that they do for free we still need to know what the whole cost of it is so that we can put together that opportunity for other hoes in case they do want to join later all right I mean if you I know you've been in contact with her if you want to follow help you know follow up on that helps [Music] yeah um okay so we'll table that one too just to see where we at on our next meeting for 7B correct yeah okay 7 C leg awareness and how to protect our waterways before we get into that I just want to uh give you guys a 10minute warning um before the meeting is done Doral does have to come in here clean up and close up the hill okay no so the reason this comes up is because last meeting we when we went over you guys normally don't over but I think one of the last went it was that that's why now I'm giving you that okay I can so that that would be just for future reference hours too that we know that would be good at the beginning of the meeting so that way you know some of the percenters right we would have kind of spit up a little bit coms but that's so how long we have 10 minutes minutes 955 okay I I'll do mine in three minutes maybe less um this is a followup uh L awareness and how to protect our waterways at our last meeting we mentioned some um ways of you know share information with and luckily I went to this event and they had this information about fertilizing our Lawns to polluting waterways and I also got in touch with so because we wanted to create or add to our zoning code issues about liers which was not there was not there so he he mentioned to me was to to do to present it to the council and then when they approve it then we can either make the changes to the ordinance or create something because I remember I had I call um that's message with ouncil member diez regarding when he did the three ordinance years ago remember when he was a champ and I haven't gotten back him so it's just basically I don't know if we need to do like a memo that's why I wanted to check with Josh to to see he do pres to the council what the process is so that's basically I'm on fa it but I thought the count already had an ordinance on yeah but I think ours is doesn't matter that's why you mention that's why I think the issue of the yeah at the end of the day it's just releasing them and here like I said the car says you know what not to do I think this is important would you get more so any questions no thank you for bringing me so table that one again so we can see what we add to Lorenzo yeah no no Lorenzo said to do ask the council permission to change the ordinance or what I'm saying about that table necessarily is because I want to make sure that we don't lose track of these and typically when we take them off the agenda no no no even right even though they're working and and things aren't happening then we forget where we at and then like that's what happened exactly with the under the underpass underpath that seven three months went by well we're working six month before you know it it was two years and now we lost the opportunity that I'm saying that's exactly what happened the other path with those columns well well but no because they didn't no they didn't put it on the gra the original grab they didn't put it on the grab correctly and it was it was just so yeah you don't mean take it off you mean just make sure it's added to the next exactly so that way we we exactly what's going on that's it that's it so that way we just don't because if not then that's going to happen but if I may um just to help you guys with that since it sounds like you have to go to council it sounds like that's the direction um I will take this opportunity to remind you of your committee report schedule so I'm looking at the one posted here you guys are scheduled to go up in October so make sure you you follow up you know do they're appr or do a memo or something that's say but that so so in order to move you guys along make sure that at your September meeting you bring that memo the committee reviews it approves it and like that you get you're added to the agenda just in time to be able to make that presentation or that ask whatever it may be okay to me yes follow yes okay the next one is um ways to connect with the community is Helen I think it's better to table got it table it is you got to tell me twice then now we have to end this meeting L 12 minutes or 10 no not 9 minutes all right h8 annual meeting so I know that we had looked at different topics you guys agree last meeting that you're just going to do one meeting instead of the right but what was the top and I think I provide in the something to somebody about a topic I well according to minutes we have keynote speaker three relevant topics and a resource Fair as potential a potential layout what that a keynote speaker three relevant topics and a resource fair for the summit I think still to think about put table and just add on there so that we on on the minutes that we would have to Pi the three topics at the next meeting yes for Pap should we have a motion for that or no no thank you all right new business 88 Green Space near Northwest 87th Avenue 31st tree Mr B yeah so Jeremy did tell us that uh um we own the property they're looking into us us we do maintain it f correct um last I heard I got to sit down with him and get all the parties that are um want to beautify the the members of the community that are willing to donate something uh but I think it's going forward so he did say that it's something they're looking forward to doing um do you have any other updates on that no mine mine was finding out who owned it yeah but I did talk to Jeremy and Jeremy is uh getting the final details on that and way that uh we can make it into a smaller right so that's move for we just got to sit down with the right people so it's going to be a park par it's going to be a little Park yeah we maintain it already so why not yeah five 105 I guess huh father Park number 105 where's this one right on the uh oh you were showing correct right there yeah all right so we want to move this one to Old business yeah we'll move it all to Old business all right thank you Mar so we'll bring it back [Music] yes no we just we just have to re no we didn't L what um no we have no because remember that you you took temp no Juan took temporarily so then in this meeting we needed to come and officially and officially vote so we need to table table all right so we took here a then we're going to table B then budget you haven't there in the last [Music] page are we going to request um extra funds for for the vi RS or we going to leave it as it is I think we leave it as it is the only thing I know mentioned was with the golf cart um or if anything advertising I think it the only thing that we need for bik it's it's to push advertise but when they told us last meeting we need to spend some funds on that if we really wanted to move it up or push it or send this kind of message and that kind of message that's only if you're trying to reach a wider audience and what the town already do but I just want to be here we obviously promote the events to Town Event um that's we wanted to send no but if we wanted to send additional messages more of an ongoing then then I think it was mentioned that we need to spend a little money because you use social like those of you that use social media you'll sometimes see promoted ads where it's things that you may not even be looking into or interested in it just comes up in your face that that's the like if you're trying to do that people that are not even involved like are not engaged with the S and you want to get in front of them that's the only way to do it right think your options are like more clicks more views or more um like it's it it all depends on what you want but in terms of uh the social media that we have we obviously use it to promote the T this is just in case you want to get a reach you want to reach a WI I did tell you to add at least $500 for the U SP no for the golf golf the golf corporate oh awesome all right so 500 for the golf card yes how much is PR on us so the award so we go from the top uh the award verification that's 750 wearly so um just so you guys know in terms of the budget uh this was due like a week and a half ago um um and anyways the way that they're doing it this year they were asking the Committees to do it based on the budget they currently have and to adjust accordingly maybe there's a line item that you don't that you have funding in that you don't need it and you could use that extra funding in another one they really wanted you to uh pretty much allocate where you want those funds we really don't have based on what your based on your total Lum apply to you guys to the yeah three people showed up to right but in this case I don't know about the $400 because if we're going to do an annual event we want to make it impactable um we're going moreone 400 I said we leave listen we only have four items guys let's ask for 500 the golf cart parade and let them come back and see what they that's it all right so I motion to approve uh a draft budget with same as the prior year just adding $500 for the C card for motion to approve the bud so you guys are requesting an additional $500 and then new line item is we need to promote who second in MIM Rudy ficia any additional discussion no see none all in favor say I I against the guys have it next item is 8 e illegal dumping on 92nd is it Northwest yeah so Northwest 9 second so what happens is there's a a dump container in the back of Gman and I guess they think they could dump it back there but the gate's locked and then if you look in that area and the shrubs cover where you're at right so let me show you two minutes sorry real quick sorry sorry um just uh uh my suggestion is we either try to get the uh uh the town uh involved or the police I did call 311 to report The Dumping I haven't seen any uh uh action you know against that to see someone come out there or anything Who services who servic that area school the school no the school the school doesn't service that area us I'm saying not the t is the dumpster in the right away the dumpsters is the schools so the D they have their own dumpster oh it's a oh it's a container it's a rollof so they think they can throw it and the gates lock so by the time they got there there's bushes they go to to and they dump it all there you know so it's it's it it happens constantly a year ago they found two cars in the canal but there's a ton of trash there what do you recommend we do we either have to try to see how we can get the police involved so maybe some signage no illegal dumping um that belongs to well we that's our area we can put we saw Dum the back uh and we contacted Public Works and they came Public Works and if you look you see how it's see how you want to reach out to public Sports and see what they tell you that's if that's going help out yeah all right so let's bring it back on the next meeting and see what kind of feedback you need if it is our area I definitely uh you be surprised those illegal dumping signs how effective they are when you slap right on them the fines yeah so um okay all right so get back to us on that mayit you got that something yeah I don't want to go I don't want to proceed without you okay any announcements no see none I motion to adjourn the meeting 9:56 p.m. second second
