is Sabrina Alonzo and I am a freshman from Miami Lakes Educational Center I live in Miami Lakes and I recently learned about the youth task force and I would actually like to contribute into improving the activities here in the city and therefore I would like to be considered to join the task force thank youc thank you welcome any more public comments seeing none public comments is now closed we'll go to item four the adoption of minutes take a few minutes to read over the Bible that's in front of you or not Bible sorry dictionary that's in front of you okay okay I remember that they're very th this is great I know she had it is great I'll moving I'll I'll motion to fix or edit Ariana's name towards the ending of the minutes oh you need to remove no because someone announced someone was like I'll I'll tell you guys um a little bit about her um both Ernie and I were copied in the in the email um it's a student named Ashley Vu um Barbara Goldman Senior High School the besto she's a senior um 5.3 wayed GPA 987 community service hours she's involved in a variety of clubs um she has she attached her resume she wrote an essay which is amazing so I'll make sure that this gets forwarded the committee of today um or tomorrow but either way uh considering it's only one applicant um I'll move to to make Ashley Buu the winner of the 20 24 um youth Advocate second she's a silver Knight she's a silver night nominee she's an NHS Key Club she's done a million thing she's fantabulous she's amazing amazing a motion and a second any discussion no no discussion no questions no I do yeah so this this pres this award is going to be handed I was gonna do that after the motion but yeah we we just want to what we can talk about it now so I was thinking and I wanted to ask the committee today um uh just considering the special nature we you know we discussed this when we decided to award for this year of this year's award um I'm going to ask if the committee is okay with it um that Ernie reach out to the the leaon for the education Advisory Board to see if this award can be presented at their award ceremony which is coming up so I spoke to I think I I don't know who I spoke to but someone had brought it up to do it with them it was probably okay I think it was Mario we're with this so this is on May the event is on it's we could also if we want to present with them I think we could present it in the council meeting too so that's fine I just feel like the we can do that as well at this event specifically is really nice because they can bring out their parents and it's a dater and May May 23rd at Theo Center so the EAB does our award ceremony that night um I'm sure they wouldn't mind and and I are both on the ab so we can bring that up at our next meeting to invite her and her parents and that way our committee can be in attendance as well and present the we can present that [Music] award may be what awards of Excellence that's thing presented there present at the table so can you maybe I'm going to show up give the award and I'm leav can you um Ernie even are on the board and we'll bring it up can you send the foral email to like the ytf is asking that and that way it's easier on us at our next EAB meeting which is next week Monday or something sure um and then the only thing EAB has to do I believe this has a line item or if it didn't we have the funds for it if we can just order a plaque for her yeah if it could have the um the committee logo the committee logo and then and then just her name and the year and then right it's the but do we want a plaque or we want a trop or like a nice little glass trop no money in this we don't have the budget for it it's just an award we can budget it I mean if we don't we don't have the we don't have the budget for scholarship a little something if we can find the sponsorship and this is what we discussed at the last meeting if this committee wants to find the sponsor Miss you want to be in charge of that this yeah this is something that that discussed we should have a sponsor for this for do you need spor podiatrist and miam leak I'm gonna see him next week seebe even if it's if he sponsors then we can put him on the troph and we can put it towards the studio corre yeah please I'm going and that way that money doesn't even have to come into the committee I feel like we could just he could just cut a check directly to her like he may not even have to he can sponsor the scholarship and then the it have to go through us through the then it becomes too complicated okay so it could just be this Award presented by whatever theem business if he's he he's a p Dr your mind so and we can invite him to this event I'm G tell you very very needy I'll tell you the story after the meeting I don't want to put that in the minutes but very yeah it would be great I mean the thing is I don't I don't think we're allowed to budget Town Town money to give away to scholarships it has to be even our scholarship is through the we only gave out the little Awards which is what we can pay for um so thank you that would be great and one of do a PL or like a little glass trophy I'm fine with whatever the committee wants you know um I think that looks nicer than a PL but we need to put our logo with the colors in everything I know they can put colors into those remember the cost we got to put our logo on it sorry would she also be recognized at a town uh council meeting as well we can do that we should meeting the June is the second Tuesday of June I there's one in meeting right but I don't know we're going to have them this will be a good thing because it also opens the door to a lot of people who are present at the meeting know oh so YF has award as well yes you can do it at when can you let us know about Gentleman by Tuesday of next week okay should should be fine main meeting and then we'll put it in for May 14th if people want to think note of that as well and that way if or we could do a big check at the council meeting I guess yes we should get a YF check a big YF Che um so so yeah um let us know about that par that would be really helpful we wanted to but you know you know how it is with some sponsors and stuff good job team if we do it next year we have to get a sponsorship next year and every year we do anything else regarding the advocacy award yes yes um should we consider um e at a particular amount the sponsorship or the P the the SP the the the sponsorship example n $500 next year are we going to keep it at 500 let's see let's see what he can get ask for a th000 first yeah I'll see usually those type of little things are like a th 500 he can if he can yeah whatever and then after that we would base it off of that later on and maybe next year we could have multiple sponsors thing we can do more than maybe more than one maybe one we know the money befor yeah um so if because I know those things can make take a long time and maybe it help if you speak to I because he's about to place the orders for the eav ones next week who uh I for the eav trophies so maybe it comes out cheaper if she just buys Ian should problem perfect perfect make sure you have a lot of applicants that live in Miami Lakes that are luners now that are going to be seniors next year I'm just giving your heads up so we'll move on to item seven sponsorships I'm gonna put this on every single agenda um especially now since we have Bike Rodeo coming up and Halloween in October we need sponsorships that's especially for Halloween Halloween is now our biggest event and one of the biggest the second largest event in the town and we need to have as many as much money as we possibly can for this event we all know how it is we we have to plan this event without having a budget for this event so just keep that in mind we have to plan it without a budget because our budget doesn't get accepted literally to before cor maybe we can set a date in June not now but maybe like at the next meeting set a date in June when we can all maybe do like we did last time because we're then school's over before you all leave for vacation we can go and start hunting down like ask we can go to different shopping center we can try different you know um more doctor's offices and stuff like that I'm willing to do that as soon as school's out like I need and not even it's sponsorship for all our events for springling next year for bike Rod we put in can we put it in the in the agenda well you said you're gonna put it be for for the bike rodo folks what we have in terms of of budget is spot on yeah it is perfect but if we get bike sponsorships well of course no no no of course you always welcome that but yeah yeah I uh I couldn't agree more with with uh what Brian I think but right now we need to focus on Halloween for sponsors okay any questions on sponsorships no all right Spring Fling unfortunately I wasn't there so if anyone wants to take the floor and start recapping springling go for it I have a few comments for myself that I've got in comments from but I'll let you guys go first anybody chair was amazing I mean saw I I honestly think it's one of the best events we've done so far it went really smooth I mean the only hiccup I can think of which I noticed after the fact on the Facebook residents page some residen complain about the start time that some confusion I mean the mayor was there to May wanted that 10 I don't remember specifically like I went back on the flyer to make sure I didn't notice on the flyer instead of time it turns out it didn't but in the event right in the description in set of time which I don't well technically our our we decided at 10 our committee no our committee voted for it to be at 10:30 10:30 and and the EG hunt started at 10 it was we started half an hour if I'm not mistaken didn't a someone say let's do it now yeah yeah but but beside the point I mean look um overall great not many parents I can complain we didn't have the back of eggs which helped a lot was we gave out all of them you know we called everybody who hasn't gotten eggs come to the to the podium to the The Pavilion to get and we gave them all out and I think you know we were able to make amends that way the only other hiccup that we know is the the pony company they always have a flat tire they showed up super late um you know we'll look at different vendors for next year no no they show up on TI they didn't get no no no there was somebody that was the the the pettings were the pony late Pon they they told me they were going to be half an hour late and I don't know what I was doing over in the back by the warehouse no I'm sorry a phone call comes in I'm coming out of the facility and it's the lady and that was about a 10 15 minute after the fact call that she said she had a flat she wasn't kidding because I saw it with my own eyes there was a flat in the trailer but she decided to just go anyway with it and she made it so I I didn't I don't remember that at all we I remember getting an hour late and us having and we have this they weren there at they were not there they weren't there at night they got there late and then I remember because we they said up since they got there after the fact they just set up wherever they we didn't want set up we did not want them and last year I know this okay and last year they also had a flat tire I believe that they had a flat tire I I'm not saying I'm not saying they're lying I'm just saying look if you get a fat two years in a row like come on and your AG and years in a row okay that's good to know I I can go ahead and call chick who is in charge of allar events and I could you know make make see what what you could do to use a different those were the only two I I would say the only two hiccups hiccups overall I think Devon was great you know the the guy with the food trucks great atmosphere was peaceful number of volunteers um the sponsors were happy I kept on checking up on them I'm sure you did well I think anybody else aru yeah it worked like perfectly it was our best one but everybody I heard comments from people that it was a lot smoother than last year all things the only thing I did hear uh quite a bit was that they didn't like they wanted to know why they needed to pay for the pony rides for the for theing all that and that on the flyer it seemed misleading which I kind of can understand the way it was worded so maybe we can check the event right F before it's posted they thought it was free a lot of people were under that impression and then they're like oh but I wasn't well here's the problem they put free event correct it said free event then you should be putting free egg hunt free egg hun is what it should say free egg hunt $5 Pony right5 I did the check the really well before we post really well before that's the main thing regard I know I wasn't there but regarding when it comes to start times I don't care if they're telling us to start ahead of time if we posted there's a time to start we are starting at that time it's not fair to everyone it's not fair to the people coming out to the event because people got there at 10:15 because the ion start supposedly supposed to start at 10: what I would say is that we did have we didn't leave aside a lot of um and then a lot of people aren't there to get egg from a buck through the chair through the chair just to clarify I don't think anybody there was no decision made in the moment of let's start this earlier it was more of a in the moment honestly I did not remember we had ever said 10:30 and when I went to look at the fire it didn't say a time who would have known that that so we just be more aware careful with the starts just make it at 10 make it at 10 but posted at 10 that 10 was perfect at the end it was perfect the timing was great you had not a lot of people waiting and you had people but yeah if if they thought it was 10:30 then problem but again to reiterate on on what he was saying we were 10:30 when did we talk about 10:30 we nobody nobody remembers talk about about the minut I remember I put 10 I was like wait why like at the end at the end of the day and I wanted to add to what Hae was saying the most important factor there was a child or children that came in later thinking that the was at a specific time they thought they were they weren't going to get anything they did at the end of the day that that lowered the anger of a parent from here to here which is good you know so we we did and uh and a lot of those people took pictures with the Bunny with the with the Easter Bunny afterwards that was very was amazing he extra time extra time and that made the parents that Miss they got to take pict with him have any fights you know I attribute all this to your absence probably left like 30 minutes into no to Brian of eggs I know youed 40,000 that's what we got and and it was good it was good it was good everybody that was that was good yeah now we don't want to fix let's see and and a big shout out to to Oscar he called me yeah awesome man TR well not only that the fact that he provided free DJ the fact that he provided free a free kids zone this is at no cost what I'm saying yeah that was excellent perfect yeah hey I also talked to some people that um a few people that were saying that they noticed they did notice price difference in what the town was charging right what the committee had for the and they were very happy with and they weren't happy with the other stuff to that I had a few of those conversations but I said well we have one that's the event that's the town to the committee you're going to have that type of price and then you're going to have something else extra in case you want to also jump into that but you don't have to you don't have to pay for anything correct what's free is no no I'll do I spoke to So to that I say because we had talked about maybe next year having Oscar take care of everything so that you don't have to wor about the money and EV and all that but I would say we need to verify that if that's going to happen we need to maintain the prices low that's true that's true because up then we're gonna have a promt right of course to feel like a town for the Town Event feel like maybe a prophit agreed agreed a quick side note the volunteers were great and she one of the volunteers actually I remember seeing her helping greeting so um they were fantastic to all those they were great just a quick thing super quick do you I know you've done anything for Halloween do you meet with them prior to that day not for all depends we've done it for sprinkling before when we're doing eggs and we have to package eggs do you think it's worth doing it just cuz that morning since we're all kind of rushed and we're all like trying to get things done and then show D additional things do you think it's worth that's a bad idea but I'm a firm believer of of you know giving everybody a heads up as what they're going to do something to consider sure sure I mean like like said we've done it we've always done it this is the first we didn't because the eggs were already done we didn't need them ahead of time maybe like a quick meeting before or something just something to consider so get and I lost very impressed with I've been that students so good I'm them good all right so it's a fun committee to be a how many council members have U the vice mayor was there and so was the May [Music] yeah anyone else were the only on only on yeah perfect so yeah we will look into it for next year if we have more sponsors obviously we can make the event bigger but that's money anything else on springling before we move on well next is Halloween I know it's early but we need to start planning this as it's largest event that we had it used to be smaller than spring Queen but it's now bigger than spring que so we need to start talking about this because we're going into with no budget and we need to figure it out I should have probably for Budget beforehand but we could start planning stuff out and pricing stuff after um do we want to keep the same kind of theme that we had last year when it comes to Halloween I think we were successful last year the everything that we did in the yeah yeah let's continue with the same I think the only thing is we did run out of candy very quickly like like we run out of candy in 30 minutes quickly we need a lot we need like triple the amount of candy we order we need like five pets I know it sounds like a lot but when you have that many people there it's not a lot you have to also take into consideration I I don't think it's so much the amount of people that are there I think it's the child does it his or her run it comes back U-turn and if I am if I am being honest we didn't have we have like half a pallet of candy we had a pal and a half I think we need I mean last year the candy ran out like an hour in an hour and 15 but we're also double the amount of people yeah so so I think we need to look into purchasing more candy you said four pets what did you four to five yeah an extra pette at least I think listen so you have you have take into consideration a child goes trick or tree and we can't control when they come in and come out unless we start charging for everything that's the problem so we need I think SP to I think we need to start looking for sponsors we need to purchase more candy um more pumpkins obviously things like that maybe have pumpkin sponsors someone sponsor pumpk and I think that's something that we can look into is having a sponsor for every section in the event we talk when the meeting like sponsor for every single like the hunted house Tri treating area the pumpkin have uh inside the the uh inside the scar Zone the haunted house you could even have uh you know one section hey this is going to be the this is going to be the uh the uh you know just an example the bip pediatric scare Zone you know and that's or for example Miami L A has done it in the past where they sponsored and they put a car in front of it sure we can put SP in the car whatever but we do definitely need we definitely need more more candy I think that's we also had lighting Hal poter we the lighting so we want more light drive lights the problem was that the lights we had I think would have probably been okay Town Town rad yeah yeah so we like maybe verify remember keep in mind that that you know I did speak possibly a thing for the scare Zone one of the lifts to look over the scar we talked about that last year oh we wanted a video camera not that's going to be too expensive for a LIF to keep Ane I don't think that's necessary what's the point I don't I don't have people in there that aren't scaring watching I mean an issue but something to think about because we never know um I'm remember our concern my concern I was one of the ones that definitely brought the concern they haven't forbid somebody come in there and want to do something bad we don't know what's going on in the hunted house you know what I mean there's no I the two sides for the immediate having something on top would be beneficial for the immediate there's something going on for something later on the cameras because if somebody claims that something happened inside you have a camera that go back and look at everything one person to complain I think what we could do is this event is tight on money too is do how we've done other events and maybe charge for a pumpkin I think we did that we've done that it was very successful with charge $5 a pumpkin really what what to get in for the little plaster things we charged 10 for the little remember those little plastic eggs we charge $5 for those little [Music] eggs it was like 2019 but I think if we charge for pumpkins they won't go as fast we could have more control over the pumpkin area you can buy stickers so they decorate their pumpkins why don't we just uh try and get some if we don't then we could look into that wouldn't that be more work if we like like JS and make sure and then registration table registration is only at the pumpkins at dark usually the people that take on the pumpkins are the ones that come early like it's not really well they take like five and R the big thing they get the luxury maybe we do it for free but you need to have a ticket for it first come first serve you get your ticket you're good well yeah that's how we've done it in the past instead of just walking in grabbing pumpkins and going you have to have a ticket and guys remember and and I I love the fact that everybody here is all for wanting to make sure that everybody gets something out of the event that's it's impossible it is impossible and unfortunately the pumpkins run out the candies run out the Easter eggs run out that's just the way it is that's just the way it is you know it's unfortunate I get it we want to be better but let's let's be truthful here with one another you know we can't it's just it's very very difficult for something like that to happen so can we start looking into reserving light [Music] effects we didn't have it last year but we are we going to have the screen with the Halloween Clips because we had it years ago but not last year it was was yeah it was cool cuz light FX brought that because like say for example last year 10,000 times light effects brought a screen with a projector oh I remember another man I I had Gabby and Angie do a YouTube uh and it was great man so started to rain and and then they had to put down the the screen the screen I saw there's a few things that we I went to um last year for Halloween I went to an event in Naples and they just so happen to have a Halloween event and I went by there because my little cousins wanted to go they did a thing where they got cones traffic cones painted them like witches that was awesome and put a witch hat on top of it and it was like a uh like a ring toss on them then buckets like that was cool like the orange buckets from Home Depot decorated and like ghost Zombies all these things and it was like you stack them you throw bean bags at it Little Things Fall Festival kind of a thing yeah they did that in the field in the middle like right in front of the stage like different little games and stuff like that so it's other and that's something that we don't have to run it's the people doing it they were doing it themselves yeah yeah something to do once the kids get the candy and what else do they do you know they hang out they hang out and that's something they could do we need to talk to Oscar already for gon I gotta see if osar has a projector on screen he told me about the drones and he been part up with the Dr company and so the problem with drones is we are in a flight zone yeah I I mentioned it to that it might be a problem because of that they they wouldn't let us because you already have to get permission from the tower they tell you you have like two minutes before another plane comes and you have to go back up like for example when we did the helicopter they had to divert air Tropic that's for us to bring in a helicopter so it is do drones we could try it why not you said Oscar has some of those drones Dr show we talked about it for to the July before like before the actual event you know happen and unless they do it over there they'd have to do it where they shoot out the firework from because that's not in the flight zone that's right out that thing required they require an area to come out of and all that so I think the park itself wouldn't be the place will be somewhere close by yeah probably be on of the lake yeah yeah that would be cool like a drone show we'll have to look into it play more but I just want to get like the premise of what we want to do um I don't know if Goldman wants to do the candy donations again H jump in do it too how how about you know how we we normally get uh 12 to 15 intense and then we have the the the um the volunteers you know Glam it up what if we were to uh do some kind of sponsorship where you can end up having your your logo for the company you know present um but you have to you have to sponsor a tent and you have to bring your own cand so actually speaking about that and that just brought up the idea that we I talked about last year with which is the trunker trunker just you that would in the parking lot right we right front of Mary kids everyone it's a trunker tree TR tree you I think we talked about be part of the trun or treat 10 bucks a car get the park there you decorate your car get out candy yeah and it's more like parent love it's their own I think that'd be cool or we could even do it in the parking no that's or we could no we can't park them in the park if they want to leave well we have to make rules you can't leave until that event's over rob a couple of years back I don't know if you if you were working with the town or not um they did something where they they allowed uh Jeeps Vehicles Jeeps to go into Veterans Park the green area uh it was something for um a student in Barbara Gman that that had uh that had uh committed suicide are you aware of that oh oh sorry repeat that again I it was a it was a student that had committed suicide several years back I was still working with the city of haia and I myself put up a tent from City of haia you know to to to to be part of that guy I thought that was you know fantastic and you know such a a tragic event and they did they ended up having um some some people that had Jeeps like like really you know Decked Out Jeeps with you know the big tires they they put them in the middle of the um the dream space area I was wondering that was something that is that will be allowed as to what Brian is asking for the for the doing the Trunk or Treat in the middle of the Park yeah I think as long as it's sanctioned by by somebody because every event that we have there's always cars com to the park and trucks as long as they don't get stuck you know as long as something that I got um we could so the drunker tree we could either do it in the park I think I might get a little crowded with all the cars yeah or we could keep it in the parking lot do in the parking lot and then maybe have it in um think it's in the parking lot from the event it's like really far away the park or we could do it where start lining them up by where the bathrooms are things like that and that could they do instead of a trunk or could they do a a tent or tree kind of a thing like that's so if you want so if you want to do that you can and but we could we could sell it as a as a as a sponsorship tier so 00 this is just an example I'm not saying that it is let's say it's $200 and the $200 gets you you know you spend that uh we get you a tent and you supply your candy but I think that's for with with that money but I think that's for businesses we're talking about residents getting inv yeah yeah yeah think trunker treat's GNA be I like that that's just but that's something we could start out you know how like people do like like till Gat we can start out earlier than the events start time we tell people to come out at 3:30 de set up your with the family they they put music speak thing is they can't leave until after the event ends I'm little the the trunk or treat that is being invisioned would charge money you you have to pay money to for your spot yeah for your family let say your family wants to have a 10 and give out handy to the kids right let's say 10s pay 10 20 30 bucks you register and then you can have the Fernandez tent and have your like you know the Halloween event is free for families who want to have a extra and they want to give a fun thing with the family like oh let's let's set up our town we're going to decorate a few p and you think do you think that'll have oh yeah I think so at the elementary schools they do that a lot the schools do it and the show up and they you know that area by the trees by where the Pavilion are back there the part there and that's a little bit even if we do it in the parking lot how many parking spots are in that parking lot at Le 50 you get 50 cars in there and that's it you don't need to do fill them all up like 20 cars you can just start 20 cars you can do you can do 10 and 10 on one side of the of the lot and you can do another 10 and 10 that's you're looking at 40 Vehicles that's you s you know like for example at these trunker treats they bring the fire truck the fire department gives out candy the police department will have their car out with their lights on giving out candy from their trunk things like that when I went Naples had their Naples fire department brought out their Hazmat truck giant has and their um their brush trucks which you never see and they brought them out to this event be the best it's parking lot is the best place I think you go in the grass we can put another light out there too so absolutely it extends the event out into the parking the whole park are we gonna have all the pions um we need request a stage yeah right I think we're good for Halloween big big UPS right here this guy gra was able to get the uh the stage Mar thank you for that man shut up need know how many volunteers 600 I'm okay with it hey I remember that year Ariana were you there that year that we had this place school we had 500 kids show up for volunteer just bring all of each and we had our we had so many kids we had our first meeting in town hall they were outside that's it yeah if you bring all get the one thing I spoke of and I I highly highly think that we should look at consider it not do it consider it uh I think we should do teams you have a set of 50 that come in and do the setup you have another another 50 coming later on for the breakdown of the event I think that that's a good idea to have the kids there six hours you have to remember they're coming here for 100 hours that's fine I'm just saying you can do it for less if you do two different shifts some kids you know you could do less you don't have to get 10000 hours they could just come and get the that want you can stay the whole day oh you want to hours give hey you want to stay half a day you get 40 hours provide more options for volunteers we get more volunteers yes that'll be good yeah we'll get we'll get 300 and at 300 for the breakdown want and we got finish in 5 I think we're good stay for the whole event this time she will she will called me out earlier that's the biggest move on anything else regarding Halloween oh most our decoration are dwindling lower and lower every year because they get older and break and nasty and our decorations and our costumes they're B oh they're gross n they're gross they're very Halloweeny the day maybe we could do have the volunteers bring in costumes or they don't get hours for extra hours no you don't get hours if you don't bring in a costume go buy a costum costum we have drive we have new ones did a USPA drive we should we have we have new ones we have how many do we have we do like we maybe we can put something out that we're taking in donations I don't know and decorations the decorations what goes the Fest those break easy unfortunately we yeah you're right we don't have last year we had tents that had nothing in we didn't have decorations we're running out of decoration are you sure they have put like a box and then people can drop off Halloween costumes maybe here at Town Hall I don't know would do it they try to get rid I know like when you have a little kid they all grow the costumes and you don't want you know what to do with weren't just there our bike rides went through the town through those routs that would probably earlier you're looking at an 8:30 to 9:30 yeah yeah earlier because it takes uh consider 45 minutes is it's like a normal ride it's about 45 minutes what it take that's not the issue the issue is police PRC can we get that if we do itead of we can but is there something we to make the bike more exciting try to think out of outside of the box like look we advertised bike RS in the past remember nobody showed up if we weren't for the volunteers that year what can we do L see we're the youth Activities Committee what can we do to make the bike ride something next level what if it's like a bike ride scavenger hunt what if it's like a bike ride something yes you know what I I don't know what yet but I'm just thinking you know a bike R doesn't sound enticing you're going to ride bike you what is the what is the you get what I mean a scavenger hunt or some type of challenge or some type of activity with the bik do they get awards for the bike ride or no there's no ride a what make it a race what if it's like a Miami Lake scavenger hump bike ride and with police officers we have a predetermined rout with different stops and they stop at different places and have to do a little puzzle and then pu safety with safety and then whoever completes the puzzle gets a helmet or gets a trophy the prize I don't know like different spots in maybe have like a little cone I feel like when you're talking to a family oh come to the bike drive people want remember that's a lot that we have to think about because you have to plan what's going to happen and who's going to man e stop who's going to do all that may this could be the thing that revives the bike road yeah but and if we get more kid volte Improvement I've been trying to work with them for years and they don't me know everything we've done it now remember for them it's just a ride like that like a 45 minute ride with you know I like I like it Mar I like the scavenger H because I'm being honest going in that circle is boring and if we get if we get volunteers they can plan those sections they can plan those sections so we don't have to do that the I was saying you could have like a little cone area cone course randomly somewhere in the town wherever that bike right is going and they can go through their cones or whatever something can you give out things like you know how you go to a martinin game or something they have like a gift for the day is there like a safety like something related to safy that could be given out a sponsor can sponsor we do helmet most people have Public Safety come they give out stuff too something and the scavenger could be like with a QR code do something simple and that way everybody gets involved food trucks have the food trucks been like maybe this one we should bring the food trucks again back to this one yeah remember the event doesn't doesn't bring out that many people see but we had a lot last year you know no not enough more than most years yeah but we didn't have that many but food trucks does bring out people I was just thinking bike ride with I think what we should do is move move the bike rode back to where it originally was in Main Street and you have that would be great Market there we get the [Music] again go over there if we could have that area again that was perfect it was right in the middle you know a bunch of people are going to come to the farmers market are going to jump over yeah if anybody has P I'm getting the BRS the GRS to give you the you the next move it to main stre soal that's original location and then and then the farmer market CU then we're not cramped little parking lot give it another shot give it another shot honestly this parking lot's bigger than the parking lot we use now rather s it's trying trying I was year I was in the kid stuff Rod there yeah that was before the farmers market happened we even had it here one year and it was packed yeah in the parking lot here it's bigger than Mary Collins parking lot that's the thing it's space and now with all the buildings here I do energy mes energy Mendes is out of a way yeah know at the park that place it was hot but yeah I look into Main Street again see if we can do it there because that's our original spot that we did it at and it was insane when we used to do it there but my question to you is why why do you want to do it there to do what one it's more centralized in the town okay a lot more centralized than the town easier for people to get there on their bike instead of riding through the main street it's a little more closed off over there a lot of people mostly drive to the place I mean that's that's how we've seen the the past they a lot of people their bikes I don't know about that but the for the neighborhood approvement committee bike rights yeah the majority of the people have we'd have the farmers market there too so it just boost the event in general the whole the whole point of this event is not for having a lot of people there the whole point is to get the message about safety out the and I think having that yeah you need people there so and no offense it's a warning event if you have the farmers market that day you're going to lose everyone going to the farmers market anyone no they're not going to come from across back and forth to do so we get it back there I mean yeah I think it'll help with getting folks out is if is the uh is that space big enough to include what we had last year helicopter we used to have the helicopter we had everything [Music] okay I have the same and maybe and maybe we can sell it to by saying people are going to come to that maybe some people that haven't been to the farmers market and then they'll also incorporate themselves into the farm Mark well that is the case and we do get that blessing from uh the grants there's no need to contact Oscar because that's what the farmers food yeah but we've never had blue trucks at the farmers market correct it's just about I mean either yeah it's just and can we bring back the what happened to the police bikes that used because of then line and the council's been talking about getting rid of it main Street's not in good shape right now we this could this could bring it like our bike Road your back up I think I I'll just suggest something I think if if it's here we shouldn't even look at um a bike an actual ride because we can then focus more on that location yeah to do some to things there so the reason the reason we did the bike ride in the first place on Mary Collins is because there's no there's not space to even ride your bike we did it here at the parking lot you could ride your bike there were areas to ride your bike there were things to do over here no offense that Mary Collins it's very small I'd rather do it at Roberto Longville or Royal LS Park if I'm being honest you have a bigger parking okay you guys I'll do my thing let me go the problem with doing it at on Mary Collins and and Roberto Alonzo is the fact that unless you know about the event you're not just going to stumble inide the idea that's that's a thing the idea for September was not to do a movie night it was more of a festival holiday welcoming we actually have item for a double movie for like kids and then for like teens and adults like two movies in one day yeah because they have offered that like the one starting at like like six and the we're playing a movie it's going to be hard when we have food trucks there we have all these things I say just keep the movies at the park because then once we start changing and adding events the council gets upset and then anything so let's just but Council was the on that told me to get rid of it and then we presented three budgets and they denied all three of them in the past three years remember we get the park I would just I would just decrease the Christmas tree movies at the park because they're already used to it decrease the budget amount and then increase the budget amount for Halloween you can do that and then whatever we don't need for Halloween we can move this is crazy but you put more money to let's say Halloween because Halloween is one of the events that's very low budgeted for some reason what you do is and this is how other committees I've seen do it before it's risky but it can work is you put more money towards for example your big event which is for us is Halloween and springling springling I think is okay with the budget it has but for Halloween for example which we struggle every year with is putting more money towards Halloween less money towards let's say how much do we have on movies right now what's our current we have like $10,000 on movies at the no how much is our Halloween mget like a file somewhere I think it's like 46 [Music] something let's start with that we know how to we do Z from movies at the park and get it sponsored oh interesting remember that Oscar all he wants is a space you tell him hey we're going to give you that space for that night we want to do the movie thing bring whatever you want to the park pay for the movie and they he'll bring it he'll probably pay for the he'll probably have a the movie and everything he'll do let's talk to him let's talk to him cuz that's what he wants he wants um the space for them to be able to come out we could zero that that line item and put it towards Halloween may just making like $100 budget small no not even a 50000 budg I think zero I think we' had a few zero budget Z budget events that have been very successful in the past 7e Halloween so why don't you why don't you increase Halloween to 20 to 20 and leave movies at 2.5 that's enough total budget I'm sorry what's our total budget that we have movie yeah just's do one Christmas movie have well remember we might need I would say put it at $1,000 move all that money to Halloween 2.5 we need we need somewhere between 2.5 and three to have a decent show we make it 20 for Halloween so make 20 for Halloween 2.5 makes a difference and that way we just do cuz I agree it's not we're doing movies doing the three movies is not worth it because we just haven't had to turn up we dedicate ourselves to doing one big movie in December and which by the way the town is super on board with Town manager loves it all the liaison from the other committees love it to do a holiday festival I think that's what they call Festival the name we'll come up with the name there was one name that they said not to use yeah you can't use Christmas I know that like farmers what was it wasn't about Chris at all they want to do like they want us to do like that festival thing we could also invite other committees out too what's your total budget I'm sorry Bri somebody give me a number 40 I always go higher you go bigger go home for the past few years we've asked like like half a Mill and then they come back and how much is how much is how much is how much so 2.5 for Park so 20K for I would keep our budget the same historically the council has not increased any committee budget in the last they not going to but we can move around our funds right so let's just keep it at the same dollar amount let's just allocate more to Halloween unless something the reason I say more to Halloween is at the end of the day whatever we don't let's say we don't lose money for Halloween because if we get sponsors all that money for sponsorship is used first yeah but let's say we get 20K in sponsors let's just say that we still have 20K left to use for Halloween we can move all that money towards the other events so you just what Maru is saying just propose the budget pretty much the same just allocate a little bit more to and then you move the funds around as needed make a motion and I'd say it's always good to go higher too because the higher you go then they we might actually get more CU sometimes when you put the same thing they might lower your budget but they never they've never increased yourd but I've been in that situation where they lowered our budget because we used to have a $60,000 budget and they we Us by 20 and we ask for 60k because when you don't ask for more that means that you don't need more money so maybe you could do with less money ask for 80 I I'm okay with asking for 50 we asked for 50 last year okay with we ask like 60 and they came back and they said you're getting 40 exactly I'm okay with asking for 50 why not ask for 50 it doesn't hurt to ask for 50
