##VIDEO ID:SnAT2yUDU-4## 302 on Tuesday the 22nd of October our semimonthly meeting for the board of assessors we have Linda mamik uh myself Bud Kelly and our principal assessor Mr Jason deio I will now turn it over to you to run the meeting thank you bud uh first thing with all the agenda first thing I have for you is uh some meeting minutes signed PR meeting minutes actually if I could gather the a signature I could not find the one we signed for July that is two sessions ago um I I'm not sure we did I know I looked at the uh the video we did record I did a sign but I okay wherever I I misplaced them okay so this is this making up for what we've already done correct this is August our very last so for clarity this is just a redo of of July we signed in August correct gotcha which has already been accepted and approved and all that stuff okay so done that's now some hope keeping is taken care of and this is the previous session that we had on August 6th yes August 6th we met at 303 we signed Boat abatements and Motor Vehicle abatements we discussed a parcel that needs to be uh turned into an unknown owner and um we set the meet next meeting dat and we adjourned at 313 so accepted accepted okay okay good here we go done thank you next to you a motor vehicle commitment number four for the sum of 5,843 you warrant itself and the commitment book to sign please you back at you contining on with the warrants and commitments we have the recommits that we discussed in August I have the warrants to reassess the taxes for fiscal years uh 2023 through uh 2013 through 2024 and give you that pack all of them need signatures for e thank you on top wonderful thank very much that is it for warrants and commitments I have bement for you I have is a packet for 2024 exis and some of $819 42 c42 two signatures required thank you very much 81942 confirmed doesn't want to move sir y okay uh another set of ab bment that I have you uh 2024 and 2023 motor vehicle exis and 24 through 21 uh boat xze B all the SS you will see the 1224 it with a negative in front of it it's actually a reversal from an error that on an abatement that was given so you actually put a negative abatement print you know puts it back to the account give you entire Wonder Associated okay so we'll have uh four signatures in total there uh there are three oh yeah you're going to need three okay sorry okay got you so about eight gotta just making sure that conf no spots on this one should see the it's the 23 V so when you do a appr you may have a so she put the wrong one you see how it says Pro here it's the same thing if you don't mind just sign that as you would the regular I did not pick that up when I saw that problems for talk to Stephanie put those to the corner not over the signatures kind kind of look at it my goodness somehow made it for [Music] so exemptions here on the agenda is the sales and tax rate analysis we have been approved uh from the revenue our values have been approved for the year so we have the analysis that I plan to present on November 26 I haven't you know it's a little bit of time away so I want obviously a chance to talk with you first and Tuesday before Thanksgiving yeah review the classification um you know packet that I present same format but I basically just some um you know open it up to you know the public here if they want to talk to us y but um in general our single families which are predominantly here in Newberry are going up 6.4% uh Condominiums a little bit more than that um going up about 122% and so overall the residential class is going up 6.7 okay uh our growth fell a little short of our three-year average we actually only have just over $200,000 of growth think that just shows that things are slowing a little bit um and see this report we looking at any other points I want the new rate is 10.73 nope the new rate I'm projecting to be here on page five right in the middle of the text where it is I'm projecting the new rate to be 745 uh which would be an average increase of $189 and I would uh be willing to take bets that we are close to the lowest increase in well no in Essex County yeah oh for sure in ESS County yes wow yeah so it's interesting I I thought about when I moved into town 28 years AG go this month as a matter of fact matter of fact it's within a couple of days and thinking about what I paid when I first came to town a quarter and I want to say that I paid between 11 and $1,200 a quarter I think right now I'm at 14 or $1,500 a quarter 28 years later that's uh that kind of increases I've heard of I mean when you when seriously when you when you think about if I knew somebody I could check those numbers yeah yeah yeah but I would just yeah yeah it's just something else think yep and so it just talks about the you know the different possibilities with Shifting the rate they decided to really virtually no relief and uh a futile exercise it's true yeah you know you have 63 commercial properties um and like 16 industrial but the Industrials a very low value because they're mostly big in land um and it would virtually offer no relief so you can see by adding about 3285 to a uh the average commercial property um you'd get about 148 a relief yeah yeah it would tremendously yeah yeah that's that and so nothing's different um other than that feels like the same 25 years if there's any you know questions I brought all my analysis reports perfect if you need that's yours to keep on I'll email it to Sandy um you know a copy of it and if you want the analysis stuff you know is it stratified let me know but it how values so values on the island I know always trying to make those yeah so I think our land values are still going up down there you know we just have a land sales like 1.2 water front you know they're they're just um but I I do see it there are a couple of sales that are now selling you know maybe slightly below assess value off the less desirable Parts um so I think we definitely start to stabilize so I think there are you know even on the island there's neighborhoods so certain neighborhoods on the island are still doing better than others absolutely airbnbs you know everyone loves them I was just out doing sales today and not one of the sales that I went to had an address of the property they purchased so kind of crazy yeah soone you know the second home it's it's a great spot it is so and uh whether they're not going look to Airbnb as soon as you cross over that bridge you're on vacation it feels like until middle of win you can't get off right and that's that's it for me we should talk about our next meeting dat and public participation seeing seeing none hearing none I do have one uh I have some uh Bill speed aside okay that so I am taking a IO cadastral mapping course the first week of November so which would typically be meeting the 5th I will not be available what election day anyway so yeah don't to be to here y so I am um the 12th is wide open for me uh yeah I actually think that works out great because the next week I am out of state 3:00 yeah be here Square cool okay want to close our uh it is currently 3:16 I make motion we close our meeting second second all in favor oh boy Count Me In thank you
