Sil or there isn't silt there's nothing that says sil's okay yeah but I think you stop that much Sil God okay well Ed Ed wanted to be sure to get some time started this so so let's do a little bit of a head count first person okay Gordon Mo has spoke to me today he will not be with us today so he's absent although by the way side thing last meeting when he didn't sign in and everything but he was he he was on the meeting all right I'll have to go back he has a Communications coming this way issue okay okay um go that Curr here alternate what I'm here and Alternate I'm here okay so that means we can actually have a meeting all right okay the re opene may not quite so long no no not that maybe 10 all right let's F the open public meeting for this meeting have been satisfied copy the annual notice S as report press and the coast posted in town hall and filed in nor the on June 30th 2023 this meeting will be recorded and available on o T's YouTube channel look at YouTube all the time you know I've never seen you know they put all these things up there I've never seen once in Ocean T I start watching like tell me okay speak clearly please okay so the January and February meetings minutes will uh will be held until the April meeting along with tonight theoretically Mar me okay now so the first item on the agenda is paty wrote something up that we never get to do you want to approve the meeting minutes we don't have any meeting minutes oh sorry I I just didn't mean to cash or anything I just just in my brain and immed have to do meting just I'm autopilot sorry go on well actually you can go on the sh true planing okay so um this document is a draft it's a draft okay would everyone have a chance to look at it and there I handed them out the last meeting I handed out more you need another one I've got another one I do I think I have another one my last other one so on your own I I'm remember reading it and I didn't have any things that I well uh well that's thank you that's a compliment that's lovely but I think we need to go through it and see how it fits into other things that we need to do so with that keeping that in mind so this is intended um was quite a few months ago where I raised a question how do we decide where we recommend free plan where we you know how we plan and come up with uh meet meet uh the proposed plans we send to the townships to meet that November deadline how do we involve Community how do we do this in the most transparent way possible that's the goal of this which is all in here so um and Donna I think for minutes you just say refer to and you're helpy to post the guide somewhere a link to it or whatever you know that makes your life easier uh for minutes but um but then Norms sent around things that some of which um I was not that familiar with uh which is you know the community forestry management plan uh that we have to do another Forest management plan as well each plan is a fiveyear plan when you have a plan right okay uh even though our our latest one said from 14 to 19 which of course was wrong 14 to 18 the title okay uh and right about the time that we were going to have to do one it's like uh oh was when they decided to give extension to us Co for one thing and a bunch of other things going on and we uh you know over that time period so they gave us everyone fiveyear extension which has gone on so in reality it turns out the next time we'll actually have to have a plan submitted is going to turn out to be the end of 2025 okay it's a 25 plan but for some reason the plan includes 25 but for some reason you don't have to have it until the end of the year which is totally whack over to okay um okay in the meantime one of the things we got as a uh did I pass that one did did I send the uh report that we got from dve tree out to everybody I believe I believe you um I believe you you did I'm not I'm not sure you got a cfmp Ocean Township Ocean Township cfmp community Forest M I'm not sure they called it a community forestry management plan in reality it's not the same as ORS we had someone else do ours okay and um so it talked a lot about the town and so on and so forth so the thing they did was mostly though centered around the uh the tree survey and the lik you know tou things but they doing blah blah blah so just just too many things coming and going plain to send that around well it be great if you could send that around that' be great and that would help so no I'm posit I'm positive I now because the idea was for people to comment could have just been a thought in my head you know that so stay there so my thinking is we've uh the options are you know this is due and it's good to noce at the end of 2025 we have um so how to incorporate what I've written as a guide for how we make decisions and include a community it seems to me that if we could get started doing this work and that would help inform the drafting of a tree management plan be part of that overall well what I'm saying is but we already have we have our original one EXA we have the one that Davey put together okay and the idea is to sort of piece those things together with other things one of the things that used to be in the other one I check the other one they actually had these they were they gave numbers some kind of things that specific things you're going to try and do like increase the tree cam might you know supposed to have so objectives that you have in the plan and I'm not sure what the new guidelines over yes so my thing is go ahead point of information January 4th you send it out as email from January 4th you sent the state guidelines and you sent our plan the I should forward it to dve so that said that said right the beginning of this process we'll go through this but the beginning of this process is pulling the right people together to decide how we proceed and what things the things that we do before we meet with the group The Planning Group this Pro which is the first point is creating a planning committee that helps Implement a plan and it's not just from the shade Tre Commission because we and I've talked with the town manager yes about this as well about because he's thinking of putting a vision group together but it's important to have other members of the community uh other members of different committees in the town to help us with this to pull what they think is needed as well so we have time in this Planning Group we can come to this first meeting being more familiar with how this aligns with this tree management plan that we're going to have to write what the rules are because there is overlap as you said but we can come to this first meeting when we create it with that with that information that'll be our homework to know the things we have to check off and do and I think there is overlap well for example in the next each plan supposed to have a list of what you plan to do by each year and the annual report you're supposed to say which of course I've been saying well we didn't have a plan necessarily anything years now but they it's supposed to say in this TR it's a fiveyear plan so the first year this is what we want to do maybe it's parts of town maybe we going to do you know so and so forth maybe communi the next one uh we plan on doing this other part of town and and getting and revising this and we got and we find now we've got to do a lot of pring and so on and so forth and those are the details and I was like to say St commission those are the weeds and those are the things we've got to be more you know we'll be more familiar with as a group not all on Norm I think Norm you've been carrying a lot of this and I can know you've been doing a lot of this I need to jump in more and do more I think this is something we need to approach together but I just want to start the first step of this is to figure out the Who the Planet group who do we have to pull together and that's a recommendation we can then make we can go to Dave and say look this is what we've decided this is the plan we're going to do he's read this he likes the plan but we want members we want somebody from the environmental commission want somebody from the planning board and let's create this committee so does anybody have any comments about this thebody the lers out from the council as well um there is a council member on this do you have this in front of you I don't have it in front of me I have you can share it or you can sh why don't share with your neighbor there is thinking more Broad ly since um we're trying to redo the tree ordinance to to cover all three ordinances that we have well well actually the shade tree commission ordinance which is the third ordinance is kind of a sort of a stand kind no I know but thinking more broadly um should a tree Management program somehow cover private property or at least goals for tree coverage in on areas that are not covered by just the shade tree well that would that then it wouldn't be a shade tree commission planning thing any more broadly obviously then we have that that's a decision that has to be made Beyond by just raising the question no I understand the fact that the state talks about stuff being whatever right but I'm not so sure that the shry commission can't have uh Authority given by the town in in its own ordinance when it was created created to do certain things to be determined what they are okay I do know that in Freehold the shry commission over there although the guy told me this was in the ordinances and I can't find anything I went and looked at the ordinances okay I spoke to a guy but someone I know had a tree planted on on his property by the shade tree commission and I saw the tree you know was nice it had some deer protection around it plant it but after that he says the ordinates which I couldn't find says that now it's up to homeowner to to take care of that tree with their tree and soone and so forth but yet it was planted on but I spoke to the guy like we've talked about what you mean they have um you know rights of way and easements and so on so forth no no yeah they do it differently they don't they don't have that okay but they don't and I remember years ago which may have predicted getting reles so was in maror they were planting trees and the most horrible locations they were way up the hill one of them was right in front of someone's front door about you know halfway between the door the street okay was like give me a break you know stuff like that so but they were doing that also so but the town could theoretically give us for the auor okay I agree so for so let me just do try try to go through this as I've got it and I've got that written right there so I'm going to mention as we get where it gets to that create a Planning Group we've got shry commission members planning board member environmental commission member council member appropriate Township staff that perhaps may need to be there the road department or something they're probably going to be the ones that would take care of okay so we'll put Public public works if you could if they can Public Works entry certainly the main is going to get thrown appropriate Township staff okay um and then assist and volunteers out outside experts is anyone we want to bring in and business owners anybody else you all can think of you know thanks for specifying delineating more staff any else go schools could be asked to participate if if they want good point schools would be a good place schools all right so add to that schools as planning uh schools as per part of the Planning Group as schools um School specifically somebody from the township Rec Department because we're talking about Parks right okay right Recreation this a big Planning Group we're getting here so part of our biggest thing we're going to need to do is to go to Dave and say it is the recommendation of the town of the shade tree commission that we want to create this planning group so that be human services for Human Services is main department and then we gotta see if we got people who willing to do it get the show up but that's a whole other issue then um the what the next section of this is a vision statement um and how we want the township a vision of how we want toach it's the Planning Group that's going to be doing this so to create a vision statement to create goals so it's um the vision statements um are the are the broader the broader pie want something the vision treat statement itself probably would be a part that would probably be a part of the you know Community forestry management plan we will check we will check check plan there or it order it be in there but it also helps getting the people together for the first time and sort of have a freefor all you know throw out words U what people Envision for the town and sort of collect all these ideas and and good point yeah it's that we come with said we come with the homework in hand we say these are things it has to include from the cmfp is that the way we say it cfmp Community forestry management I had it mixed up okay Community forestry management plan and we want to what is our own stamp on so we try to so that's a great point on that so that's pretty much what it does the goals are you know the really when we get into the weeds what what percentage can canopy do we want where do we want these kinds of things how do we prioritize different communities in the town do we do you know do what do we care about overburden communities versus you know historic Villages or whatever that that's part of what they create so anybody have any comments about vision statement versus goals you all good with that no I put it this way I think we don't have enough tonight to really come up with the answers to those things no no that's but all those things all those things are things we want to have the group thinking about good okay um I believe all the apartment complexes are entirely private property yes this is where this is where the scope issue really comes into well I'm thinking of streets you know in M Brook Apartments and Continental Gardens I think that is not Township it's probably not but you see the town can the town can also you say when to have trees there and they aren't they be a good thing there plent open space in these communities you know the town could still there's still ways that they something could be done to get these people on board whether they're tax benefit you know tax breaks if you planted so many trees and so no I'm looking for representative possibly on the to expand the committee more I'm going to put check I'm G to put EJ environmental justice I'm G to put overburden they they're an overb no that's a thank you that is and I like I've done so much work in this and that I didn't isn't in my brain when I've been talking about this thank you yeah so when I say when we say citizen volunteers um you know outside experts let's make sure we put EJ okay um because they're not represented in this town in any thing that I can say anywhere um Okay so There's A needs assessment the next section is needs to conduct a needs assessment who are our natural allies what efforts are ongoing and that's something I think we need to look into um and what are passed and ongoing budgets for Community Tree foresty this is something the Planning Group can help with for sure but we should come with some information on this and know you know not just come with blank slate have some information when we come in the first meeting um and one of the one of the things that we have here is also of course d uh tree Tre survey we come with that as well so we can explain so we can show what that is yeah we also want to try potentially we got to figure out how what I was talking today one day about it you know you know so if we wanted we want to get some more surveys done for the day people come in and give me some more estimates you know and so on and so forth because you know we the soon we can get that done you know talking about what grants are available once we close out this Grant and apply for other grants the EP there's the next section of that next section I think I'll put that in applying for Grants or or Grant more grant opportunities is what you're saying so um the next section which is connected to conduct a needs assessment is utilizing research identifying problems issues and opportunities the tree inventory is there tree maintenance needs overburdened Community data um storm water problem areas air quality noise all of the different things that we have that we can throw into the pot those are things that the planning committee we can hopefully like I said we should show up knowing as much as we can and I'm going to be you know definitely relying on you guys to help me to help with this uh and then the Planning Group can you know help determine determine more of that does anybody have any questions about um other other also I mean you can draw a long list especially people interested in trees and and so might be helpful to set priorities too on on the list okay prioritize because we're not going to be able to do everything at once so add um priorities to utilizing research identifying problems issues and opportunity section um so Donna just for a summary because you're taking minutes just so your head doesn't spin when you're looking at all this and we're going through the draft guide here under the section of the Planning Group uh we had we added public Works uh Tree Experts and the recreation folks for staff we added um school officials and uh we also added on citizen volunteers we have a special carve out to make sure there are people uh representing who come from burden communities in the town okay and then also um we uh wanted to bring in the vision statement um we want to make sure we check uh and and make sure we have able to deploy the cfmp information as much as possible bring to that first meeting and encourage Vision so that's the thing and then in the utilizing Jack hey Jack and then the utilizing research identifying problems issues and opportunities um priorities should be something that's kind of seems almost like an over overarching thought process in that so going to the next page because we're halfway through which is great um objectives and strategies Implement goals and address problems develop a set of objectives Community trees plan objectives should include and this is for the planning Community decide what is we really care about creating here obviously we bring in the information the state requires from cfmp um but there's a lot of different things I've listed effective Administration annual analysis and removal of hazardous trees public tree planning request form and calendar deadlines being really clear on the deadline proper site analysis proper site preparation proper tree selection and purchase you know proper tree planning maintenance quality design adequate funding that was where in the subdivision of that we can add to this um more grant opportunities to um you know identifying more grant opportunities that's a good specific thing we want to added asbury's always up very well with the grants know for planning and trimming Street trees and it's not that they're going to do all these things they're just identifying these are like the priorities in a way what the objectives and strategies are that plan do uh Ed Community Education and participation it'll be great to have the schools person on because that will help it get to the schools um and the overburden commun as well and then I think this is maybe a really good place to put that determine the scope um that Ken mention so if you could add determine scope because I think what we might determine is that it might not just be all public land we might want to work with environmental commission or other people we might decide yeah we and I know I've had these arguments and discussions with some people on the environmental commission that say yeah we need more trees in overb communities but do we want to be planting trees on private lands and then these guys will just have all these trees and they'll jack up the prices on the rentals and it hurts people who live there it's there's a whole bunch of conversations that so determining scope is a really great one to add um and these objectives sort of become the sections of a plan um as they decided and then uh the next section anybody have any comments on any of that or does that sound pretty thorough no it's good now I mean you'll flesh this thing out and then we'll we will this is rehash yes it's going to be a lot of work this is GNA be um budget we have to determine how much money is available to achieve short-term and longterm goals so we have to do a little back homework we have our we have to this is an area for homework for us we have to like what has our annual budget been I'd like to know how much is the shade tree spent over the last few years Fus okay well buus is a good I'd like to know like what we spent but the planning committee needs to determine because this is technically a shet tree pulled together planic meeting what the annual budget should be what the projected budget should be for the next five years uh what are our funding sources and this we talk more about about Grant possibilities but the shade tree fund grants Municipal funds right we've got to work all those things all those things are supposed to go into the community for and how much do we have to keep in reserve and I think um there's another side to it and that is you can create a vision of what the town might look like and say to the council hey if you would like this you're going to have to this is what it cost so so it works two ways yeah yeah I think this is um we have recommendations and then we have actually what what's what we can do now so that's a good point so we'll add to budget um existing and aspirational about that that's okay so um and then basically with all of the thing we've done they write they write the plan um at the annual work plan of what we want to do that year and that is going to inform hopefully that will inform the cfmp or become we have we have to actually put in the cfmp five year work I understand but and one of the things that they have in there that's that's what but that's the thing about putting priorities C costs in the cfmp I'll explain it complicated so so we can get a year all I'm saying is there there's going to be so much that everybody wants to do we're not going to be able to get it done in a year no so you put priorities on and all of a sudden before you know it you have a fiveyear plan yeah and I think that that's I think that that's um under objective and strategies um let's add another bullet of uh multi-year multi-year planning good point good that's right P you need you need to sort of look a little bit scan through the old cfnp that I sent out see sort of the kind of stuff and then you can the guidelines and you could look at the other plan that they see they call it PR forestry management plan but it really has and it talks about things we might do based on the tree survey but that's all doesn't talk about new stuff right you know it doesn't but at least it's it does get into some of the stuff they want to see in the newer CFM I'm that's going to roll off my tongue soon um so that the right plan will then inform the fiveyear CM cfmp it's alphabetical oh that's not going to help I'm a little dislexic sometimes all right so the next section is we we do this we have this plan and we can actually hold the whole the next thing Community overview is about Community engagement and we could hold workshops for Community leaders and citizens this planning committee we could actually have the opportunity for people to give honest feedback on what we come up with um and one of the things we're going to have this that I think we're going to have to come up with is what the what the timeline is for this Planning Group and I think that's going to be one of the first things they're going to have to they're going to have to do is come up with a timeline so um could you create a new in the in the plan that we we need a new timeline that's one of the um under goal go between goals and conduct a need assignment is conduct a realis timeline of when they have to do this I didn't put that in seeing that that's really missing you guys agree with that yeah sounds good so you're GNA you're going to rehash your think here and send it back out yes I'm going to rehash this and send it back that is that's why I'm hoping I can read my writing but I don't have well don't ask me for help because I can't read my writing no I can't so we do it we'll try to do some workshops um and have you let people give some feedback and we'll make sure here's where I have senior citizens and overburden communities but you right to have from the very beginning of the planning committee which I is an oversight um and then implement the plan I mean basically the first thing is well maybe revise it if we get feedback yes okay revise plan thank you by hey Jack just a quick question can you hear everything Jack I can hear can you hear me yes yeah we're just going through the draft the draft guide for the sh Tre Comm Community up okay okay so anyway so um so right after Community overview is um Revis plan that's accordingly that's an important thing I will and and basically to say sh Tre commission went over reviewed and edited plan and will send this and I will send you the absolute thing how about that here you go I don't think we're going to regurgitate the thought process no h please don't you'll go crazy trying to regurgitate my thought okay and then implement the plan basically and and um the uh uh the first thing is to obviously submit it to the township which I didn't put so I to submit the plan well I'm not sure where you want to submit you you send it to Dave you have to send it to the you want to include the council I mean because it's not an event not there's no ordinances there right it's not anything no but it's we're asking for a budget we're asking for money we have to submit what we want for money to Dave and to finance people supposed to go then in November right that that that's what that they get that request they have you've come up with the plan yeah you know what I'm saying but you but you first want to get something to Dave or whoever to set up the group that's going to create the well you know that was step one that was the very first thing is me going to I understand but that's that's that's the first thing we're at we're at the plan's been written the group's done all this work it's been multiple months and now we know what we want to do we want to spend the money on the budget's done everything done we've got that and then we send it the final thing after all feedback everything else gets sent gets sent to um Township and then we do you know we do put it on the website we do all those kinds of thing post publicly um and then uh the last very last point is evaluation how are we doing how after it's been implemented okay so I'm done okay so let me let me move on okay there a couple of things we have to get is there is there an approval and accepted step in that uh good good uh good point Jack yeah I mean obviously uh we have to get approval from once it's done approval from the town but hopefully that won't be a problem because we've had everybody involved every step of the way so but I mean shouldn't that be a point in the plan that says okay it's approved here we go yes submit to Township approve approval okay okay anybody have any comments or anything still may be some adjustments needed because we're hoping to get funding but it may not come through as we HED so all these plans any five plan subject multiple changes all right I will adjust this I will I will I will edit this send it around yeah good okay thank you for your time right so the next okay so now a couple of things one we want to spend a little money so it turns out that every year and last year we we bre we forgot about the dues completely but we finally got our goes into the New Jersey shry Federation which is a private nonprofit you know operation that has programs and so on and so forth and have a convention and etc etc and they do a very nice job okay I was talking with them today again okay so there's dues okay so historically the dues we got a bill supposedly for this year I asked one we got one it was for $90 okay but the $90 in covers a commission a sh Commission of five okay but we have two alternates okay and the alternates would cost an extra $25 a piece okay now you can choose there's a there's a thing called the uh the shade tree is what it's called this newsletter type of thing that comes out um they some of you may have been getting it ready as an electronic copy you can choose whether you want electronic or hard copy and so on and so forth okay you think they'd save the tree all no they no they want to send I saw but if someone wanted a hard copy you know they would send it and there's a form to put who's on you know who would want to do it right so the first thing is to decide uh whether or not we want to include the alternates as they were regular members for members and to get all the whatever for the Sha Federation which I personally personally think makes sense okay and I'm not sure we have to make a big Vote or anything on that we do that if someone wants to but you know but to me I think that's what it ought to be anyone want to C concur or in the past we've also asked for an extra copy I know we've done this with anj we the manager and the question is do you want to include the manager well we'll share with you know if it's digital yeah I'm not worried about that you know you pass around talking about D brown but I think so I think we should have seven people okay so now is when we definitely have to vote okay course I'll make the move move that we spend $140 for seven memberships five regular members of the commission and two alternates and the New Jersey shet tree Federation for 2024 so second I second second I was making a motion just to keep us moving okay we got a second from Jack all in favor I you have take a roll call roll call roll call okay Colton I I cence hi let's hi Armstrong okay the motion passes so we'll start to we'll start to get processing in the paper now the kind of information that everyone can send just in case uh Pat doesn't uh either me or uh Donna doesn't have their fingertips the information that goes on here is the name title which will either be uh member or alternate we'll say whatever we put in mailing address blah blah blah and then an email a phone number and an email there okay and then we'll send him all and then we get the thing cut and we we'll be good to go okay all right that's good so now the tree giveaway okay now historically we've had two kinds of tree giveaways okay well actually historically we've only had one type of tree giveaway which was the third graders for years and years and years we only started having tree third graders got trees from back in the Dark Ages okay and that was an environmental commission kind of thing that we did because the shade commission was kind of um uh wasn't barely on my support if if it existed at all back then now uh so we did that okay then we decided also though to give out trees so we started buying trees that we were giving out at the library at greenfest and stuff like that all right then it turns out that the third grade trees there were even even a year I still bought them but I could buy little tube Lings whereas it was a big deal to do something with the seedlings you know if they were just bare root trees and so on and so forth so but then it turns out the state had a program to give third graders ceiling trees so we'd get them but it luy in a way it worked out because I picked up with Patrick Sullivan over you know for the schools and I just dropped off his 300 zings and they worried about it the hillo school got a second bag and I took all myself over to the sh School pool and um search day and G they took a dozen trees or whatever it was okay this year though the the last year the guy mentioned it to me they all kind of things but they're not just not doing as much they're cutting staff and people are leaving the New Jersey forestry State forestry nursery and so on and so forth and um have this guy Alec McCartney who's the pet guy down there I was glad to see he didn't F because he was still my okay last separate issue so anyway uh so they're not giv the free trees up okay now turns out now on top let's back off decited that one and in the last few years we didn't buy trees to give away greenfest either was they had some weird thing with the Arbor Day Foundation whatever it was was paying and provide buying trees from the state Nursery to give out to various towns and they you could theoretically get up to a thousand seedlings from your town although that number never that matched you know so we would ask for so many of them and give them out so we gave him out a greenfest last few years okay greenfest has moved into may now and you got to get the trees before earlier than that anyway and Earth Day is the last Friday I mean arbit day is the last Friday in whatever and Earth Day is the 22nd or whatever it is um so you know so to so uh we're still getting the free trees this year I'm not sure how we get maybe about 400 or so okay from through the arbor well it comes from the the the nursery the forestry nursy handles a little they just sort of involved but they don't you don't get involved with so we're getting what be Ro seing these will be be Roots no actually it turns out no it turns out this year they they were so few they didn't have so many be root seedings that they producing and everything else so it turns out this year we're going to get probably some be savings and some tubings and they don't even know and and when I talked about say what tubin do you think we'll get and they're saying well we're going to see what survives so approximately 400 trees uh I've got the number that he said you're going to get because I said 500 but I think if you risk for more than 400 you'd get 4 otherwise you'd get some other the date we're going to be getting well well I'm going to pick them up on this it turns out also now if no one's looked at the calendar and looked at when is Easter and when it's Passover when it's Orthodox Easter all bets are off this year okay I even saw a thing on the internet or I heard some guy talking about it on some video I saw you know on the internet where the guy's talking about what determines when the Easter line up and so on and so forth and it depends on when this moon is this and when that moon is that because the two they use one uses the Julian account the one uses the Gregorian count okay then it has to do with day of the month like turns out they can actually be on the same day if some Moon H full moon or something is on a Sunday get okay the bottom line is bottom line is the bottom line is that so the bottom line is that so if Passover it turns out now is right um for example earth right in the middle of Passover the end of April right you last Friday of the month is is is a day during Passover okay so I picked the 21st the day before Passover the day before the sun it's a Sunday April 2 April 21st is the day I pick to give out the ceilings okay and when is Easter Easter is a month before that in March yes the end March 30th or something like yeah yeah okay I'm Rel to V obviously yes because the Jewish calendar has I that stop stop stop it's a Jewish Leap that kind of okay fine if the rabbit sees a shadow and this March okay God okay so anyway so so the idea is so I've told them because they published the state publishes when you're going to do it and so and so forth and we'll do social media and I've spoken to Diane seront already she'll put things up on whatever listen Okay well she helps out the Garden Club has helped us give out seing for years we won't have greenfest which was a great way for people to pick it up since Su night so we're going to have to do it by social media website and through the garden clubs is that yeah yeah I think we'll put it on the town website okay and also I told I just sent an email today to um Tracy but she's got this spring calendar coming out I told her to put that in there when is Earth de is that around 22nd of April officially it's the 22nd of April so can we use Earth week probably be um things that churches and so forth around Earth Day like there was last last year there were like I know Ed church had a big I don't know what they're doing I just know that that's the only possible day and I'm picking them up on the 17th which is like of course I think most of them that in the tuing will be easy to keep and so on and so forth um because for example Monday sometime Monday I'll be headed to my daughter's for P2 that's Monday so suay be appropriate yeah so I'm just trying to figure out where and thank you for getting youbody said that the first year they had this free tree thing we did it at senior center you know they we set up tables in front of the know there's an overhang and they put up tables there and we gave out a to what kind of people came from various places you don't have to be an ocean Cent resident to get a tree doesn't matter Yeah by by the way just FYI Easter is March 31 thank you yeah so where are we Distributing the the at near the pool the the senior center or Senior Center or Ocean Center Recreation Center whatever you want to call it's got a a whole bunch of names if you look them all up they all come up with the same book okay so anyway uh so we're end from 10: to 2 which means we need to get organized you know earlier okay and depending on they are and where we keep them like I kept them in a refrigerator in that building in the past you know and someone would come and open the building for us you know the recre recreation department is truly on board we do these things I've already spoken to Michael triell about this so where the question is volunteers we need to have volunteers you know to help out and so on and so forth you know this way we get enough people you know we can go through whatever I had some left over last year that um a few of them got planned but not too many few years before that I got some cypess I still got I think the biggest challenge has been a volunteer I'm sure get people volunteer I think the biggest challenge is making sure people know about it and show up and get the trees and I so maybe we could just Compass ideas of like having make sure that the word gets out whether it's contact know yeah well there's there's Ocean Care well there's all these things that people put the post all these things on Donna puts it out so Donna you're going to be contacting those those groups is that is that I just don't know who's doing it I just want to know who's no that's okay there's all all kind of people will do it you put on the town website you know ahead of time maybe we can also put it on the town um board on the road you know the flashing flashy board thing on the road like pick up free trees you know this Earth Day at senior center 10 to two I put up a thing sign down there yeah put it up on the corner yeah whatever I'm not worried about that aspect you know I'm hopeing we just get get see the way they have the whole thing up the way the state sets it up they really want to give five trees to Everybody Take Five trees put in bundle bundles of five trees of the same type and you give that's respons we wound up we wound up with it we had a thing with all the trees and say I like two Red Buds and I think you know an oak and so but we had people there and it so everyone was happy you know well the reason I brought this up about the S is because it's also you know I think it's also an opportunity for the shade tree commission to get more visibility shade tree giving out Commission free trees da da da Planet tree you know this I can see our readings after this being totally packed all these FL flaming no but still not just people appreciating trees and knowing okay so so any that's tree give away a okay now three giveaway B is what do we do for the third graders then okay so first there was this place croch show we used to get stuff from okay they didn't seem to couldn't find them per se you know so I called the place that does all this organic stuff in the wood what they called the southern nurs say oh yeah they're not we bought their property but but but well who could I get you don't know who can I get so they gave a name of place called uh JG acrom and way in South Jersey they do sings okay now the good news is that they I'm trying to get a hold of them I got I look at their list you they have a bunch of things which we'll talk about maybe what they get okay and they range in size and it s them could be a buck or two bucks I've spoken to Dave already we might want to spend $1,000 on trees he say for the third graders he said no problem okay wa I'm confused I thought the 400 trees you were going to get was for this no the 4 no not definitely not for the third graders okay they're part of this um whatever they call it um re reforestation something or other that the orate society does okay yeah the ones we're getting that they're filling in those in with in in the uh what do you call them tuings were ones that might have been available for sale but the third grade program is definitely can officially as far as free trees from the state is concern okay so so we'll buy them you know now the good news about the states ones was they were all dipped in something from the polymer that would keep the roots dry this other place if we get them from them and they ship them in we'll they'll be wrapped they'll keep for a few days so I think we still can get them to the schools I'm working to work I'm working with the ocean T of schools to get get it I don't know when because the hillow school people can't get it that late because they're not even going to be open the Friday before wor day so they have to do a program earlier so that I might but I might be able to get stuff shipped in in two packages too I got to work better and we need I'm saying somewhere about 325 total ceilings give us a few extra so we're buying these Tre those we're going to buy okay so just so just on that so that's that's why I want to do that now just so it's official okay that wants the move that we spend up to uh, on seeding trees for third graders I'm move it okay Jack move by Jack the second jeans are official second of tonight okay okay all right patties P all right find it out okay okay so okay so okay so uh we'll do it by so that we'll vote says I currence I I let I I okay this way uh yeah what okay then the next thing on the agenda do we have enough money in the budget well Dave has enough money okay uh okay so true removal permits and applications there Bill Brooks might have been here but he had had some kind dinner for someone had and U was but but there's nothing major although Ken I want to talk to you at the meeting wait the so anyway so that's the way we stand right now okay then we have the stewardship brand itself okay so they've finished most of the work uh the only thing that actually hasn't been done basically is and that's why I'm asking them to look at the cfmp that they provided to us and because I've got some comments you know things to go from dve from dve right from dve look at the DAV report they've got to do that the actual official date that all this work was supposed to be done it was March 3 okay but I got another uh 4mon extension mainly because because yeah because see what I found out was I found out that it isn't just them doing their work that they had to end by we actually have to pay the bill before that they finish it you know and then and to pay the bill you have to know whatever is what you do so but then the council has to sign over it when you pay the bill and so on and so forth so and also and part of that also is we have to do our own identify our in kind contribution which is basically manour so everyone that's been all the meetings that we've talked about this and any other things when you would roam in the streets counting trees and any other things that people have been doing all those hours have to get put in and counted up to add up to 25% of what and spending time looking at their report right exactly all all of those kind of things anything like that uh reading the report writing report you know previously looking at things talking about okay and they has to be after I think the August 3rd or something two years ago where where is our Council representative tonight2 in 2021 okay so those are the kind of things I'd like everyone to think about those two things right first we got to get this stuff out back look at the report make comments send them to me we'll try to consolidate and whatever else so on so forth okay and then is the treee keeper training I don't know how many people were not that many people were at the actual training session they taught us about treee keeper but uh I think I sent out the uh I G I sent everyone a way to get into treee keeper as as a actual account and you should have gone on and uh made it your own password and so on and so forth and once you're in there the things that like the town people will be able to get in as if you didn't have a password or anything the'll be able say just have a look have a map of trees in town you know when which trees you know maybe identify the trees you'll be able to look at all the data for the trees okay and at the moment uh you won't be able to put in new trees you know add additional Tre as we do it and so on and so forth but that'll probably change as we get into things and so on and so forth and uh and it was recorded So if you want to see the Tre keep training where will that be available okay I I think I already sent that out too didn't I yeah yeah yeah they gave us that pretty quickly so you can go that the beauty of that is we was there for the tree keeper training supposed to be three hours it went three and 3/4 hours okay so anyone who's looking at the tape can watch it an hour and you know with two days and watch continue on right so so I'm not going to tell you how I feel about those people because I'm jealous what do that ju just a question where is the council person the council representative tonight at the at the at your meeting I don't know Kelly Terry is gonna be doing that tonight because Dave fiser is not is away there's something going on at the library tonight that's some big thing that that Jean said saw the place was packed so we don't know I don't know okay let's move on then three ordinances okay so then the state has this ordinance I'll talk about to there's a state ordinance that's supposed to be done and they have these these three programs that are going to talk about okay and I saw the first one and I think I also sent out just briefly before the meeting the slides the slides and a link to view that presentation and then you need a password to get into the link but the email has the password to get to get it okay so um so that's another thing that's worth you know the sh Commissioners then we have the core training that's coming up by the way two more presentations right there's two more right there's two more presentations and Bill Brooks saw it first one and he thought that there would be more that was it was interesting but there's more stuff that might be more into the me of some things you know going coure training um I don't know if you have you ever had court been Court trained on community forry it's it's a kind thing doing at your leisure kind of thing that they're having this year and you may have passed registration did you get a chance to register no I was post surgery and I wasn't doing right right okay so I'm not sure when it is and stuff like that but uh but I do believe that uh you know some someone in town has to have it that works for the town Dave Brown has it Carlos uh Bergos Carlos from DPW yeah what's his last name Bergos I his whole name correctly all right that's the first time ever I guess it okay so anyway he has it but and and Steve Higgins is also going to take any sign and we pass the money and we paid and we when we we put up a thing for the $30 to pay for it anyone else was going to take and there's there's no late registration right I don't know you could look into it see see what they do they want give you the training you know if you have time look at this okay and uh and cus like now there cus anyone who watched that other meeting that we just got they're supposed to send that out for us that watch these little things from the on this what do you call you know the ordinances those things are good for court training or something C so we watched the video on that I think you got to be live course you sign in when you sign in they get your name but but we have enough anyway because Dian Sur again is taking some other course that we know it's going to be worth a bunch of stuff when she's finally send in her stuff what she actually took we'll get credit for that and community outreach I don't know we've got anything new as much as and also I think the community outreach in the tree get away that's that people H that be part of the publicizing that is a community outage right correct does anyone else have anything else to say before end the I um jump out of his seat one other thing to add about um 's organization here and that is uh I've always been concerned that the township has forid tree planting in the right way and and the outcome of this could be everybody's saying hey we want it you can PL them the right way yeah I think the biggest problem in this town is the r there's not a lot of rways that are any kind of size to do no I I agree and uh I mean the one neighborhood they did do something a few years back was up by Mama CS there oh yeah now go there now I know and nobody maintained or did anything and it's just a mess I think a matter a lot of money that neighborhood that neighborhood is GNA be gon have to go out for bids to do some pruning because someone came into the town and said this well those trees should have been pruned but it's an overarching question we didn't have a program we had so I mean that's a prime example there we planted and we was planting for I mean they did the whole Sil did everything in there and within less than 10 years the sidewalks are getting pushed up and there's you know new developments and so forth as things go forward that have you said you can plant the right make sure the RightWay is big enough and we have the appropriate PL probably when they give approval for some of the right ways they should have designed or make make wider easements right those things it's just a great question yeah because that's one of the bigger problems there's no we Ved around before there not a whole lot of good spots there's no question town
