there are no presentations so at this time are the reports or comments from any of the volunteers serving our community [Music] now come on up good evening good evening Randy shamber of propel member social Equity director um I just wanted to uh report uh that The Pride Fest went very well thank you Melissa and Dave for coming uh it was a great day uh I really just wanted to report also on our scholarships that we presented since the last meeting um at the pts um scholarship night award ceremony uh Propel presented the kindness award to Alex frame uh he began a club at school called pths cares which helped students with mental health issues anxiety this is something that he thought was needed and the way that he qualified for the scholarship we asked seniors graduating to write a 500-word essay on why they thought they brought kindness to our community or what they did to bring kindness to our community and we got 60 responses and there's a lot of good work being done with these kids in this community but Alex's really stood out because he made an impact and you know because mental health is a is a big issue I know with the council uh with the mayor uh as well as with us at Propel so um after you know a bit of deliberation reading all of those uh he was presented with a scholarship uh and he's going to be going to Syracuse University uh and then we presented a second scholarship at The Pride Fest to uh Robin ferano uh they are going to be going to uh William Patterson University and we give that scholarship to the pths student that really works with Propel throughout the year to help forward our uh objectives and goals so we presented uh Robin with that scholarship at the pridefest so yeah that's all I wanted to report on right now so thank you thanks Ry you anybody else y all right we wrote his name somebody well we're in volunteers is it public comment or volunteer okay public comments coming right now all right next on the agenda is public record come on up oh she was first my name is Mary K schurman and I'm here to um Echo the words of Randy for the third Annual Pride Fest that happened on June 1st and continues through this month of PR to the month of June I was lucky enough to participate as a volunteer this year um it was so welcoming so uh friendly the Shamrock music kids the musicians the singers everybody was dancing everybody was enjoying their music and the Excellence of what they presented um it was really incredibly um impressive so I'd like to thank the leadership ofel and how this organization has just over the last three four five years been so important to this community and one of the most important things that happened that um PA has specifically really um start started is the QR code for mental health and there were numerous people that came up to the booth and said how thankful they are that this is available and there are 70 different um areas that if you do this QR code you are linked to different mental health um Avenues of health so again I want to thank the pal and our community and it grew this year and you know this is what I feel is really what our community is about so thank you very much thank you Paul thank you Mr Mayor Paul mailer Township resident and the very proud president of propel Panic which stands for panic residents of Pride equity and Leadership I'd like to beautiful Park it's always clean by the way but we want to make sure that that we do everything we can to leave it cleaner than than we find find it if possible pridefest sponsors included Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center birch tree psychology Christina's by Design uh Panic Regional Chamber of Commerce Reas of panic Shamrock School of Music and TD Bank Pompton Plains I'd also like to tell you tonight about the launch of our QR code to mental health we launched it at pridefest and the idea is that we're going to place these window clings these vinyl clings at businesses throughout the the community there's already a handful placed but we're putting a team together to walk around and and get them placed so the QR code to mental health is sponsored by Newbridge and birch tree psychology we launched it on June 1st at the third annual Panic Pride Fest the program features more than 70 local Regional State and National Nal Health mental health providers in 18 categories of need on a dedicated web page that's easily accessed by scanning a QR code and it's been hailed by the New Jersey Governor's Council on Mental Health stigma as quote a wonderful initiative that speaks to the sign of the times using all Technologies available to promote stigma free so the QR code program objective is pretty simple we want to make seeking mental health in panic Township as stigma-free as going to the doctor for the flu the uh the roll out will include the window clings as I said uh to be placed uh at township businesses and organizations and we're going to try to fund raise to do some uh other efforts we'd like to do a mailing to the to the the uh all of the households in town uh and do some social media advertising as well again with the objective to make it stigma-free so I have if I may I have uh the uh V okay I have vinyl clings for you I and I have an extra one if uh with your approval we can put it on the front door of the municipal building that would be a great sign uh to the township so that's my only request tonight is that that you that you approve that excellent thanks Paul thank you anybody else okay [Music] okay seeing none we will continue Mr manager report uh thank you mayor a couple quick items follow-ups from last meeting there were questions related to the proposed 2024 dot Municipal grade Municipal Aid Grant application um the application was identified for Sunset and there were three phases essentially uh based upon the verbal written reports from the last meeting there were questions ass iated with the activities Township engineer included a memo with some sketches showing uh what is proposed on the three different legs all right in summary uh the the narrowing of the intersections as mentioned at the last meeting seeks to decrease the throat of of the distance between curbs uh enhancing pedestrian safety uh there is a section for those familiar uh by West Parkway where with that little island exists where it's a dead end um essentially the proposal there is to again tighten up the intersection as well as make that Island into a peninsula with curving to enhance how it looks uh that's the only section that would actually be narrowed a little bit it's already narrow because that whatever that thing is that's there right but the the balance of the street would be narrowed a little bit but it serves three houses it's essentially like a driveway cuz it's not a through Street um and then uh that was one of the questions and the other question was specific to the guide rail uh existing guide rail would need to be replaced on the second or the third section of the proposed project and the only place it might be new uh would be as described on the 2025 NJ do application sunset uh SL Forest to farm exhibit where based upon the change in grade from the road to the ditch adjacent to the road it may be required by the dot if it's funded but that's not our request right that's dot going to be saying only if it's required yeah it's required then it would have to be put in if it's not required then then we certainly don't do it uh out of our own poition so if it is required is the curbing not going to happen or is it just going to be I probably would be both my only concern is that's a pretty narrow stretch right there and you know if you're walking or um riding a bike there's nowhere to go now if there's curbing I mean now you could scoot off to the side of the the road where it's not paved um and I think it says that that part of the road goes from 32 to 26 ft so if the if the section of sunset would be the subject of a DOT application everything would have to be brought to doot standards um the option would be not to submit the application right so if we're going to take money from them they want it done a certain way but that's not the first section the first section is in closer proximity to the high school Sunset to West Park so is the let me see if I understand this right is the do just for the guide rail or is the do for the guide Rail and the curbing so the dot funds the Improvement and as as has been identified in the past sometimes we have little sidewalks to Nowhere with pads on the on the edges of them um when you take the Dot's money to complete the project you have to do everything to the dot specification so if the project were to be funded by dot whatever is required would have to be included was Beaverbrook dot yes because it's just guard rail or guide rail that that was a a uh a special aid application because there was a DOT Grant submitted prior to my 10year uh that didn't includ it and then it was identified that that was a problem for us so we submitted a subsequent Grant application just for the guide rail as it was required um I I you know I just I have concern some concerns and you know I I like the things that's going on near the high school except for the I think you know shortening or tightening that intersection right across the street from the gym uh that's that's problematic um well we don't have to put in for the grant it's their money comes with their strength well that enhances pedestrian safety because you limit the exposure on a crosswalk to to transition traffic whenever you have an opportunity to make a more tight intersection with a defined turn it slows traffic down well I think we tried to do that on the turnpike and I don't think it really worked that well either but you know with all the striping and all the additional yeah we don't have people parking in front of people's driveways now so it's definitely made it a lot a lot better for the restaurant as well as the surrounding and the other thing that I have is you know we're adding we're adding more sidewalks when we really can't take care of the ones that we have already but um I said Sun dri is already narrow adding curbing might Curbing and the guide rail might be an issue um you know there's a picture of curbing on Sunset uh in front of the grace the old Grace Bible Church that's there already is curbing there so there's a red line so I don't know why there's a red line there cuz curing already exists so do you want to not take the money should we vote on I'm just bringing up things that concerns I mean it's once we take the money do is going to say you have to do X Y and Z so because it's dot that's kind of out of our control 100% And my I guess my last question that I asked at the last meeting was has the Traffic Division looked at this I believe there was conversation I I don't know if they've looked at the sketches or not I know they received but are they are they signing off on the the proposed improvements or they don't plans or could we recommend that they do that there was discussion the the traffic the the the community services Bureau has never been included as a prerequisite for an engineering project um I I I would hypothesize having sat through many meetings with the Traffic Division that they would support anything that's traffic cing and reduces the Thro of intersections and enhances pedestrian safety that's that's typically what they support and with respect to sidewalks I just want to point out and I know councilman Cole made a comment about not being able to take care of what we have I want to credit the township of panic for having a sidewalk replacement project there are regularly uh sidewalks that are replaced as a community project there inspections that do occur uh unfortunately the scarcity of resources you can't replace everything all at once but being heavily involved in the joint Insurance Fund having that aggressive um program where there are one or two that are replaced really does provide the greatest defense of any municipality I've ever served so uh I I credit the township of quan for having that in place and and having had it for much longer than my presence yeah CU most municipalities don't have that correct it's it's most municipalities simply impose the burden on the residents they don't do Municipal projects so the fact that the township has prioritized it and done work to do one or two with the with the with the available resources is something that is certainly laudable and have reviewed it with the general Council of the joint Insurance Fund and they think it's a pretty effective program and this is other people's money it's to the council's to the council's decision so if we don't want to make the application we certainly don't have to I still think that the Traffic Division should look at it being that it's directly across the street from the high school where there's a number of pedestrians can can the council make that recommendation I would I would be shocked if the Traffic Division had any concerns or objections well well why don't we first John are you interested in moving this forward yeah I think it's a good idea especially around the high school I mean further up Sunset if you think it's worth it that's fine but definitely the two intersections around the high school from West Parkway towards the high school but mhm I think it's good I'm for it Dave I think it it'll just clean it up a little the PD Traffic Division report so provided there's no objection from the traffic uh yes division I'm a yes well said that would be a yes yeah right uh next item from the previous meeting and then the subsequent applications can be the subject of future discussion those don't have to be decided to see uh next item the Baxter Court hold harness agreement it was identified that there were some concerns over the number of structures on a hold harness agreement which is something that is proposed to the council when a resident wants to construct something or install something on an easement that is a part of their property um upon review it it identified a deficiency in process uh basically the folks down at 99 Alexander and Zoning would do things contemporaneously with the request of council that shouldn't be Council shouldn't be approving something that might have concerns so moving forward zoning review will take place prior to it being scheduled for the council's consideration so are we holding off on Baxter we are awaiting uh the review and any recommendation thereafter so then it'll come to us again then if it yes turns out to be okay and they want to proceed yes okay uh the 2024 local Recreation Improvement Grant uh Council previously authorized the submission of an application for $60,000 for field lighting controls at Washington Park awesome estimated to be $7,000 project this is the second year of uh a program that we hope is annual because we also got it last year for the green View Park Pond um so again doing a $70,000 project with $60,000 of somebody else's money is well you know what I mean it's not a big number for a Township but for something like Washington Park and little league that's a huge number so it's like a huge it's a small win for the town but it's a huge win for Washington Park and it's something that we wouldn't have been able to fund so again free money as the council's aware we got some uh money through the health department and a grant the health department required so it's always nice to take items off our capital budget uh and use those monies for for other projects so we make the dollars go a little bit longer uh last item scheduled this evening for the council's consideration is a R23 sanitary sewer project change order number three um I apologize it was intended to be the original dissemination of the packet and somehow was not uh but it was sent out again today the change order is a net deduction of $131,400 completion date from May 2nd to August 31st and final completion to October 29th from October 29th excuse me to December 31st there was discussion back and forth originally these dates were requested to be longer than that uh there was a lot of back with with the contractor and ultimately this is what's being recommended by the project engineer and myself Adam there's no negative effect to changing that depth for any still able to do gravity correct still gravity no need for Pump Station or anything else it's just something that was uncovered as a result of the process that was previously undertaken so and we save $131,000 correct even better all right any questions there any additional questions that is my so so far is that project pretty much on target or now it's 31st I mean we're right now we got to go to October so so far as it is proceeding right now we're a little net under thank God give it that way um but let's you know we got quite a few months to go let's get it done this has been a challenge since 2017 I I look forward to to December 31st and in total completion you're not kidding all right moving forward thank you sir there's no public hearings no ordinances for introduction so next on agenda is resolutions Miss Marsh youve got a lot to say here do Excuse me while I Stumble through this yeah we're going to time you I hope you have a long stopwatch um resolution R 2024 125 changing the custodian of the police petty cash fund 126 changing the custodian of the clerk petty cash fund 127 changing the amount of the police petty cash fund 128 resending the court petty cash fund 129 resending the library petty cash fund enough with petty cash funds 130 providing for the insertion of a special item a special item of Revenue in the 2024 budget pursuing to njsa 48 colon 48 7 that's for the forestry Grant r224 131 approving change order number three for the route 23 sewer project reducing the contract with PNA contractors of Colonia New Jersey by $131,400 34 132 authorizing the purchase of a 2024 Dodge Durango pursuant Pur suit AWD from designated vendors awarded contracts by the New Jersey state contract 133 authorizing the purchase of a 2023 Chevy Tahoe P ppv from designated vendors awarded contracts by the New Jersey state contract 134 authorizing the use of the Mars County cooperative pricing Council for the purchase of a 2024 Ford F550 four-wheel drive cab chassis from chiai Ford of Flemington one 20 2024 135 authorizing the use of the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey Cooperative pricing system for the purchase of a groundmaster 5910 from store Tractor Company 136 authorizing the use of Mars County cooperative pricing Council for the purchase of a 2024 Ford Superduty F250 four-wheel drive super cab 8T box pickup from neelon Ford what does that mean sorry I have no idea resolution r224 137 authorizing the execution of an interlocal agreement between the township of aquantic and the Board of Education of the of quinic Township for landscape and field Management Services 138 approving the renewal of designated Alcoholic Beverage Control licenses 139 approving payment of the itemized claims is set forth on the June 7th 2024 Bill list and that should be R20 24140 authorizing the use of the Mars County cooperative pricing Council for the purchase of a 2024 2024 Ford F550 four-wheel drive regular cab chassis from chiai Ford of Flemington wow great job Carol get better break all right uh can't believe the price of that I got a couple questions could you just articulate so all the petty cash what does all that mean 125 through 129 so so generally for the audience and and the benefit of the record there's two substantive things that have happened prior to this meeting one the audit was completed for 2023 okay so based upon the auditor's review recommendations were made with respect of the management of petty cash funds um I understand Miss Sweeny retired from the township of quic some time ago she was still the identified custodian of the CL P cash funds Chang now to M Marsh uh similarly a police officer was identified who I don't recognize his name as the previous custodian Chief a long long time ago yeah so so a lot so some of that is just cleaning up um little details like that and then uh the capital budget which was introduced and adopted previously has become available uh so many of the items identified were a component of the capital plan and the capital budget everything is consistent with that capital budget and capital plan um there are a couple minor examples of something being $140 more or $2,000 less but uh plus or minus a couple hundred bucks everything is consistent with what was described in in the capital budgets thank you is there a reason that we rescinded the court in the library because of the auditor Court doesn't need it Library we don't give them cash okay but we had it it was it was on the books so it was why do you do this you don't do it so you should fix that any other questions John buying a lot of iron that's for sure sure are yeah Melissa no you explained it I was just going to say this is what happens after they get the after we pass the budget get their numbers and now they're ordering all you know put together all their stuff but it's all in line I mean I wouldn't know whether the trucks and stuff are the right FS but there's committees together that and they're consistent with the the the budget the finance officers provide the certification of funds and in in other jurisdictions I've seen Capital Money linger I will point out that the senior staff in P Township doesn't let a scent linger the minute it becomes available it's not Superfluous they're they're jumping at the opportunity to take advantage all right awesome is there a motion to adopt these resolutions I'll make a motion to adopt resolutions r224 D1 25 through r224 140 second roll call Mr Dy yes Mrs Florence Lynch yes Mr Cole yes may herd yes there are no items for discussion no reports or notices so Council reports next on agenda is Council report and announcements we're going to go to you councilman jice thank you mayor uh my committee shade tree committee did not meet um their biggest thing is just the uh the the the tree Grant so we're we're still shopping for those the biggest challenge is buying the trees bu getting that's what we figured it's a large number of trees that's the biggest challenge so it's not the grant so they're not even in it's it's you call a a nursery and you have them lined up and they're ready to be picked up and they go to get them and and 20% of them are gone CU they got sold out from under so we may have a situation where we execute procurement and then satisfy play to-play requirements after the fact just to not get stuck yeah we definitely should get those planted this year have been talking about it for a little bit spring in June was when the previous report was yeah we're we're the 11th day of June yeah but just I know from construction sites on big projects it's hard to get plants it's I have many holes at the moment so um historic commission did not meet they did not have aquarum uh parks and wreck did meet um they said uh PB Park is going well um record attendance uh record uh sign up so far in the last couple years um lifeguards are doing good um discussion was on pickle ball and pickle ball rules my eyes GLA glaze over cuz I got no idea what they're talking about open play and all this kind of stuff but um they're working on a subcommittee with that to kind of get everything standardized I guess so so so so that's good um you know it's great that we got the money for the lights at Washington field um want to say congratulations to Alex with the with the scholarship wins you brought that up and also the mental health QR code that's that's an awesome idea thank you thank you for that hopefully it'll be a be be around town cuz it is it is a big problem and people don't like to talk about it and we got to start talking about it cuz we're all we're all in the same fight we're all in the same fight so um that's a great idea and thank you to everybody up here for putting up with me it's been a pleasure got that that's it thank you sir uh councilwoman Florence Lynch uh yes uh Economic Development Committee um uh we met um couple things they're working on I know U two of I believe the chair and the co-chair from Economic Development did meet with the town manager to go over some some uh initiatives so um we are uh working on a um new business checklist so when people come into town and they want to you know open up a new business they don't have to shop around where to go for paperwork so that's a that's a big one um they're finalizing a survey that's going out to all the business owners and um and I believe landlords as well but definitely business owners um so there's more to come on that and they're going to be at the ho down um talking to Residents and getting feedback on from from town residents on economic development uh our next meeting for EDC is June 26th I believe which is a Wednesday um senior citizen advisory committee um their next meeting is June 19th at 10:00 a.m. the only thing I knew I had to report since last meeting is that we did run or the county I should say the county clerk's office ran a uh uh senior and Veterans I event um it was held what about 2 weeks ago um and it was successful there was you know a little over 20 residents I believe you said um that showed up and they thought it was you know they thanked us for sponsoring it and said they like to see see that in the future so maybe we'll do that again in the future um my flight committee did not meet yet um so I have to check on the next date for that uh when else um couple of couple of events um let's see I went I actually went to the uh colombat Tricky Tray over at Holy Spirit I guess that was about a week ago that was very successful especially because I won prizes for the first time in my life um and uh let's see our Panic Valley rotary held a 5k a very success successful 5K run and walk at Green View Park this past week this past Sunday they had over 300 Runners um signed up so that was that was great everybody had a great time there our mayor ran in that good job he even got a medal so that was good uh let's see what else tomorrow the Panic Valley rotary is holding a scholarship um luncheon that's going to be at the American Legion in uh Pompton Plains was that 450 I always get that number confused but anyway I'm Sor 242 um it's going to be held there tomorrow so they're going to give out some scholarships so that'll be good uh let's see what else um I don't know if anybody else was going to report on this I know the first aid Squad women's auxiliary is holding a fundraiser this Friday it's actually a medium that's uh Company 2 that's Company 2 yes the women's auxiliary the first aid Squad in company to not the first aid Squad I'm sorry not the first aid Squad the women's auxilary uh let's see what else um shop the Town Event is Saturday June 15th from 10: to 5: looking forward to that well and I reported on this last time the fireworks is June 28th and we all know PV graduation is June 18th and high school graduation is June 19th so we're looking forward to all that if any body gets out of here early tonight the Historical Society oh yes is hosting a music program at Martin Barry house uh uh tonight it's till 9:00 I think uh the music program um it's a Linda Russell who explores history through music and so if you're not doing anything when you leave here they probably love you to stop over there at the Martin Berry house uh what else do I have um the Newbridge golf outing is September 23rd so look for more information on that and then um last but not least I want to talk about um Pride Fest it's the third Annual Pride Fest as uh Randy and Paul already reported was very successful I was there for a few hours and stopped by every vendor it was it it was wonderful and the music was great um with that being said I know for the last several years the council had supported um a proclamation for pride month um so I know it was read at the event by one of the scholarship winners um who you mentioned his name before who who read it at the that was Robin that read it yeah so Robin read the proclamation cuz we came later um but I wanted to read it into the record I'm going to start the proclamation um and then uh coun Cole's going to uh uh finish it for me so I just wanted to read this into the record whereas the township Council I'm sorry the township Council of the township of panic New Jersey welcomes and encourages diversity and inclusion within our community and whereas by protecting the rights of every individual we enhance and strengthen the value of everyone throughout our entire society and whereas celebrating pride month raises awareness and provides support and advocacy for the lgbtq plus community and is an opportunity to become educated engage in dialogue strengthen alliances and build understanding and whereas while there has been remarkable progress towards acceptance and and equality members of the lgbtq plus Community continue to face discrimination and intolerance and where we must commit to supporting and accepting lgbtq plus individuals in particular our youth who compare to their peers are for more likely to experience violence and bullying at school and whereas we affirm our support for lgbtq plus residents in our community and stand with them and pro protect their civil rights and their ability to live openly equally and without fear now therefore be it proclaimed that the month of June is recognized as pride month and all the residents are urged to celebrate and build culture build a culture and inclusiveness and acceptance during this month and every month as a welcoming sign to all okay and that concludes my report and you can continue with yours thanks Melissa okay councilman Cole all right uh on May 30th I had the opportunity and privilege to uh attend and be part of the veterans alumni groundbreaking ceremony at the high school if you haven't seen any pictures on social media that's going to be a really nice project uh being built at the high school and we' like to thank all of the in-kind donations and the financial donations that we've received so far for that project also like to thank uh Town manager Adam Brewer and DPW for taking down the tree that was on the high school property that was uh in uh the way of uh I guess the vision of of seeing the wall so there's going to big changes coming to the uh to the high school grounds there right in front of the uh by the cafeteria all those old shrubs are going to be ripped out new shrubs walkway it's going to be really nice uh as uh Melissa said we her and I attended the June uh first Pride Fest very well attended uh planning board met uh the old friendlies and Van vot uh were in uh on the agenda for planning board uh the old friendlies uh plans were approved so that will be the first three-story building I think that you'll see in banic and hopefully it'll be a domino effect that the other property owners uh that own commercial buildings along the business uh way on the turnpike will start doing a little TLC to their buildings as well if you haven't heard one side of the turnpike is three stories and the other side is four stories but the fourth story has to be set back so it's not four stories going straight up um long long time ago we met with a bunch of the business owners business property owners and they really said they didn't want to do anything to their properties unless they could add a level so um I don't want who who was even on Council when we we went on a on a field trip we went to marown we went to Butler went to a bunch of different towns Wu uh towako to see uh what they've done and uh we came up with a new plan so hopefully that'll be nice it the the old friendlies really really looks nice so I'm I can't wait till that is done looking forward to that um the vanv uh thing was just to enclose a water tank that they have uh on their property already uh mainly because in the winter when he's uh watering his poinsettas uh it's difficult for him to heat the water to a temperature that is H the right temperature for watering of the poinsetta so uh by enclosing it he's going to be able to get it heated and get the water to the temperature that he needs uh to uh to grow those points set is even better so uh that was a pretty minor one uh company one was supposed to meet this last Friday but they postponed it until this coming Friday uh Company 2 will meet this Thursday uh June 9th I attended the uh youth the new Youth Sports Association fundraiser Dan at B's that's the uh new uh youth uh Sports Association that has taken over the youth football and cheerleading program in town very well attended uh you answer my question about the planting of the trees um PV park umbrellas I've heard nothing but great things about what do we have kids uh putting in smaller umbrellas for people I think the staff helps out when they can plus we've added some big ones right but umbrellas that we have or umbrellas that they're bringing cuz I think I think we tried to get some smaller umbrellas it was it was discussed I I don't know so well whoever's happening there's something I've heard that there's been assist and it's going well I I've heard nothing but great things about the staff helping the people put in their umbrellas so that's a great thing this Friday Also the friends of Library will have their an outdoor uh concert from 7:00 to 8:30 I think it's the Coots Coots band and from what I I I have heard them before and they're very good so if you're not doing anything this Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 it's right outside in on the lawn by the library and that's all I have thank you mayor thank you sir all right all righty got a couple of things he congratulations on your pridefest it was a beautiful day sunny so I'm glad that worked out for you guys I love the QR code mental awareness I think that's great that you guys are heading it up mental awareness is a huge problem uh in all uh areas that's definitely something that's why we're a stigma-free town and that's definitely a big deal um a couple of days ago uh there was over at first a squad so there is this camp for kids that have cancer and Cancer Sucks right I think we can all agree on that um it's called Camp quality USA and what they are is they're giving kids that have cancer um they basically take them to a camp in New Jersey kind of like camping um and and basically it gives these kids a weak to just be normal and be around other kids that are like them unfortunately uh they are still looking for volunteers but this is something that they were doing the training right here at first aid Squad uh I'll be posting something on the mayor's page so everybody can have that information and you know we can take it from there um open space we met we talked about a bunch of stuff we have some ideas that we're going to bring to council probably on the next meeting uh first aid Squad so last month there was a total of 90 calls 33 went to Cedar Crest but on top of that uh there were seven all calls calls during the day and again you know these guys are volunteering their time um predominantly overnight and on weekends and for them to go on an all call during the day you know that's above and beyond anything that they absolutely have to do but on top of that I mean they're everywhere you know they were at Rotary 5K they were there they were Pride day they the Memorial Day Parade um they're going to be at the carnival all week they're going to be at the graduation they're going to be at the fireworks so you know they don't have to be everywhere you know they can always just take the call but they're there and I I think every time you guys see somebody from the first aid Squad you know please thank them this is all volunteers they're not getting paid for it uh with that said we need your donations so they are having October Fest September 28th they're going to have 12 food trucks rides and live bands uh it's always fun uh it is a great great time for the kids as well especially with the food trucks and the and the rid so I really encourage everybody to be there thank them and support them I mean it's for a good thing and that is all I have so yeah just so we we know Holy Spirit fair is this starts tomorrow goes to Saturday so and it sounds like they're going to have some good weather so I guess sister Marie has a direct contact they're going to have perfect weather all the hand all the armbands are sold out so you can't get them but you can get them on site for 45 bucks mayor I wanted to say one more thing cuz I know councilwoman Russell isn't here to report for shes parks and rat gr yeah um huh oh that's John maybe you did mention it isn't there a free PV Park day coming up um there is did I see that somewhere there there's a food truck festival as well as there's two drives one's a food truck festival the other is a free day so both are we a free day so the only reason I wanted to bring it up is this so it's this weekend uh Saturday the 15th free day if you know anybody that's not a member of PV Park have them come out that day it's free they can enjoy the day without paying it and maybe they want to sign up after exactly and then July 13th is food truck festival both are very fine anything else no how is PB Parker me do you have numbers I heard it's been higher than number yeah we our memberships at the same time now versus last year are higher trending within the plus or minus of last four year average worked so hard to get that back up we're over a thousand good good all right next on the agenda is public comment as a reminder we welcome comments suggestions and questions rather than dialogue during the public comment period and comments are limited to 3 minutes if anyone wishes to address the council please wait to be recognized come to the microphone and provide your name for the record nobody come on up take your time I will good evening Henry shck fory Court theic Township New Jersey uh I just want to ask the town manager in terms of vehicles parking on the side streets that are adjacent to the main thorough fars where there are stop signs is there not a state law that says you have to be 50 ft away from that stop sign on the side of the stop sign and on the opposite side of the road or the street you have to be 30 ft away from the thare isn't there a law that says that to comment R rules well again that would be something that you would ask and then we could follow up with you afterwards or I'm sure Adam would love for you to come over and talk to him well I guess you're the police commissioner correct no no or you're not no I'm the T man I know you're the T man you're not also the police commissioner we don't even have police commission commissioner CU at one time I think there was a police commissioner yeah but any questions like that again you can always make a stop by his office or talk to Dan cun uh yeah I'd like to know that you know if there is I I'm I'm sure there's a state law that requires 50 ft from the side the stop signs on and then 30 ft on the opposite side of the street away from the main thare I mean that's I've seen that in many municipalities and I don't see why our municipality should be any different even even though we don't have sidewalk the mayor read instructions so I'm not supposed to answer until we close public portion so that's that's why I'm it's not that I don't have an idea what an answer is I'm just not answering that because we're supposed to take comment and then move forward Mee so he'll answer it at the end all right well I just want to know because you know I I see cars parking right on the edge of the theair right which is a violation of the state requirements and and I'm just wondering why it's not enforced that's all thank you anybody else I take that as a yes yes I'm old sorry take your time sir oh like 100 Randy are you older I do I feel like a 100 years old um Bob Morley Jacksonville Road uh two quick things uh as far as the do the sidewalk the the thing that you want to look at um the only thing I can say after spending as many years in the do as I have um the last 10 15 years they've they've really worked hard on pedestrian safety uh and it's been a stress it's been stressed so um what if the design meets the do design then it's specifically to make pedestrian safe safety better so uh yes you should can have it reviewed but um given that my son will be attending the high school if I don't kill him first he will be attending that High School uh I'm all for whatever you can do to make pedestrian safety better in the area um second thing is and I brought it before uh where are you guys at as far as coming up with something for the teens in town to go to or do besides hang around the old trading station which you know I'm sure we can do something better than that so those are those are two things I was hoping for thanks thanks B okay thanks come [Music] up good evening my name is Karen spe Camp I live on band AV first of all I want to thank you all for your support of pridefest and of propel and um want to thank both of you for reading Proclamation um I think that's very important that the town is um supporting uh the efforts of propel and pridefest um I did want to ask though and I know you're not going to answer me today is why the pride flags that were um put out in front of the municipal building were only allowed to be there for a week it is pride month not Pride week and I think we need to show the residents of the Town especially in light of the um Proclamation that we support members of all diversities especially lgbtq plus that we support them all year round but especially during June so um I hope in the future we can fly a pride flag um not just stick the tiny little ones in the ground but I would definitely like to see them there for the entire month of June thank you thank you anybody else good evening Council Sharon Taylor I Feel 18 for life I feel like I'm 100 um I just wanted to stress uh the gentleman that commented about the teens Center doing something for the teens um while you're talking about being kindness and Love and You Know sharing this wonderful Community don't forget about the te and young adults that are in this Township especially after Co during Co a lot of those young adults lost a lot of time to get out and socialize now that things are opening up uh it would be great to see something that the parks and recs could maybe do for the teens and young adults whether it's one person two people or 10 people it's quality over quantity so uh I'd like the council to give that some thought and one last question for Mr Brook when you cut one tree down where are you going to plant the next one because it's nice that you're putting something new up but when you kill a tree it's still a part of our environment it's good resources it helps flooding and I know that the high school is nice and flat but taking down trees just a question to ponder you know when you don't have to give an answer but when you cut one tree down where will you put the next one okay thank you Council thank you thank you sh anybody else no okay with that said uh before we go into minutes for approval yeah did you want to answer I'll do my best to respond to the questions that were posed um with respect to the 50t from a stop sign I I know that is required in most areas I'm not positive if it's every area um I'll relay the concern to the police department from an enforcement perspective but additionally if ever want to call PD with a specific concern any Resident is welcome to do that um and is that a situation where we would like paint like we've painted the yellow on some areas you do but you don't do it everywhere it's a lot of paint yeah it's a lot of paint and it's not necessary everywhere most places it's not an issue but if it is a specific issue um we previously have had some parking concerns around certain businesses and and we did paint those um but it it's a lot of pain um it's kind of like the song about signs signs signs um uh with respect to um the dot thank you Mr Morley um uh and and regarding the trees I'm I'm going to I'm going to play on Joe wells's favor Mr Wells I think Fred 50 100 okay so so 450 450 so we're working on a pretty good we're we're still definitely in Black but agreed this this was a unique circumstance uh my understanding is the tree had some issues anyway um but it was a good collaborative effort and teen center you're actually the king of teen centers what you did over Montville was phenomenal well there was a lot of people involved in that um you know well well founded good question I was in charge of Youth Services for the township of monville for 5 years um I would love to see something that periodically gets discussed with budget and is a question of resources and time but it is not a not a suggestion on it'd be awesome to do like a mashup with the library and teen center this way the kids can like actually see and touch books again I think that'd be phenomenal all right next on the agenda is minutes for approval we've got May 14th and May 28th um abstaining from the 14th are there any comments on these minutes no NOP is there a motion to approve these minutes I'll make a motion to approve minutes from May 14th to May 28th thank you for being specific is there a second oh second all in favor I I opposed I all right there are no items for closed discussion there being no further business is there a motion to adjourn I'll make that motion can I get a second second all in favor I oppos meeting adjourned at 7:55 thank you everyone
