after completion of your comments or questions and the council or Administration will then respond if necessary and I will just add on if you're coming to speak and you haven't been here for a while you'll need to keep have it fixed it's fixed never mind please come to the just talk into the mic please come to the podium state your name and address a minute I got him over here thank you it's on Sid Sue Madison 176 Blackford Avenue um at first I'd like to acknowledge that scataway is doing much to go green and to deal with climate change um uh I have a u proposal that to change um some of the ordinances about what's of what can be done in terms of construction uh that was sent to you last week and um it does not um it does not not uh have much emotion to it it's a piece of paper so I decided that I would come here and provide some real feeling to to what uh the part of the presentation is and um I'm going to do that by talking like Cowboys where the guy in the white hat is the good guy and the guy in the black Hat's the bad guy and in in the case of climate there are no white guys anymore the the hats are all gray and I can tell you they're gray because it's been a long time since we've done what we should have done for example the Kyoto Protocol was set was done over 25 years ago and the idea was to bring emissions down it's now 25 years later emissions have not come down they've gone up and they're still very high so instead of having a white hat we've got a very gray hat at this point the black hat uh which is represented by the fossil fuel industry is just getting Shiner all the time they they keep us from doing anything um they they continue to build fossil fuel infrastructure which will not allow the world to keep the increase in global warming to two degrees let alone the aspirational goal of 1.5 degrees so I'd like to look at two um impacts of what they've done and if you'll allow my wife she'll bring up a handout for the council members and uh the mayor okay yep now you got one that you can take home you haven't you got oh in the packet it's not in the packet it's not colored okay is okay is this one color shows up a little better I I know it's in the packet um yeah and uh I I provided it because I want to take one of the items which is next to the bottom which is called coral reefs and emphasize the point that the reason we have gray hats is that we're already at 70 to 90% of coral Rees being destroyed that's why we have gray hats we haven't done a good job so far and that's why it makes more important to do a much better job as we go forward so that's one of the impacts that I want to make make a point about um and I'd like to just read a little it a little bit about that coral reef supports 6 million Fishers in nearly 100 countries reefs account for 10 to 12% of the fish caught in tropical countries and 20 to 25% of the fish caught in developing nations across the topical Pacific Nations it's estimated that 90% of their daily protein is cons is comes directly from the jacent reefs so when these coral reefs go away the protein for a lot of people is going away and what I'm trying to do is to show you in just one of of what is a a very long list and it it doesn't it's it doesn't really tell you if you if you don't read it and understand that a lot of people are not going to have protein the same way they used to have it all because we haven't dealed with dealt with climate Okay the second uh area I'd like to emphasize is that we need let's see if I have a a number here I don't have a number here I think I may have included on the back of that sheet that I gave to you does it say something about to take one ton of G emissions out of the atmosphere cost optimistically $100 I've heard numbers from3 to $600 with current technology but you see we're putting 40 billion tons in every year the the thing that's going to have to be done by by our future Generations is just unbelievable and that comes back to the point the less we put in the better off we're going to be and one of the things that and this is all relative to what I submitted to the council any questions thank you Mr Madison we do have all of these items are there any comments from the council to Mr Madison no any questions Mr Madison we'd all welcome to converse with you after the meeting okay thank you I know I will um is there anyone else in the public who would like to speak may do so at this time please come to the podium state your name and address and note that you have three minutes which to speak and yes I did give Mr Madison a little extra time but that was because he had some things to show us so um if we could stick to three minutes thank you hi Mr Atkins good evening this is a u I'm requesting an update last time I asked about a place to have the meeting for the zoning and planning board at that time it was suggested that you guys were looking in to having it down at the uh the new center any update on that the answer is that we're we're we're out to bid on the building um so we'll see what the bid numbers come in at David and we'll know we'll know in about a month where to move to move the uh engineering and planning yeah the old Italian American Club building and that will free up the space did you hear that David we're out to bit that's that's great if it works that way because this way they won't have to move anything when it come to have the meeting so that would be good all right that's all I have to say at this point and uh I'll be checking back in with you and in that regards thank you Mr Atkin you're welcome is there anyone else in the public wishing to speak at this time please come to the podium state your name and address and note that you have three minutes in which to make your comments 58 Curtis ordinance violations is a danger to the the scway residents it's the way I see it s and Curtis that intersection even Dunkin Donuts has a violation of ordinance for their drivethru that intersection is a dangerous to the public 7 mville where you put your reelection St is a danger to the public it's an ordinant violation going down to seven and Clinton how come you didn't put your Bri me sign in that M there you wouldn't do that you put it in my face judges justices they nonexist in here the scatter away resident complaint is not existent I didn't bother your reelection sign this time you put it there again mayor I'm going to take it down I'll be here I I just want to let the record reflect he wasn't charged last time and he probably should have been but if you do that that is a criminal charge so my advice to you is you better get some legal advice do that okay I'll take the six months in jail for the sake oh I have a complaint and I wish to summons the mayor for NE thank you sir is there anyone else in the public wishing to speak you may do so at this time please come to the podium state your name and address and note that you have three minutes in which to speak hey good evening Curtis grub 1750 West thir first of all I want to say um thank you to the counil those who know um I just recently lost my wife um my family wants to personally tell Mr Frank and the mayor they did attend and they want me to make sure I told you personally that above and beyond sir both of you guys so with that thank you again now we um we're having problems over on Hazelwood um recently about a month and a half ago we had eight cars break broken into mine was one my neighbors mine personally I know was unlocked we had a guy must be walking around checking the doors if it's open he Raffles the cars this one happened two days after my wife was deceased and he got in my car got in a couple of neighbors um a couple week this last week he got one car on the corner of popular and and third I discussed this with Frank there is a camera we have cameras due to the situation we had years there's a camera on the corner with lady Park so car my assumption was we had this guy now this camera had to catch him I called and my reply was the camera is not working now I need to understand why the cameras were put there for a purpose of the problem we had years now do we think the problems are gone and we turn them off or we turn them on when we want to turn them on the problem the problem was we lost the server that they were on so we had the company come out and I believe they on a temporary server were put on a temporary server the server was sent for rebuilding and when that server is done they'll take it off the temporary but officer R is going to look into tomorrow because we should have we should have the footage from anything recent if it was last week we should have that whoever you talk to the police department I don't think know knows that because Joe's Joe's the guy that handles this type of stuff and like the dispatchers nobody really knows the technical stuff so Joe is going to look into it and we'll get back to you okay the other issue and quickly what are we doing with um Hazelwood I see a whole lot of streets getting done here we sit hertis it's still under engineering design it's not just Hazel and it's Pearl place too so when we get to the point where we're hiring appraisers then you're getting close like for instance tonight we're we hired an appraiser for Meister street that means we're getting close that means we have to acquire easements or you know right away off to make the restrain roads so when you see that then we're getting close okay again I want to thank thank you for the work I had to get done to get and there's no work you help me out thank you thank you all appreciate it thank you Mr grubs I just think that um I mean each member here has probably said something to you but I can just say to you from this board that um you are a treasured member of this Township you advocate for your neighborhood and that is admirable and we are um just have the deepest compassion and um just know that any one of us here you can call at any time and you're going to get a visit from birdie she's gonna come and say hi all right we're very sorry for your loss appreciate it learning how to deal with it that's thank you you have a good night is there anyone else in the public wishing to speak at this time you may do so please come to the podium state your name and
