and Mrs Reon is going to introduce our guests and um welcome back Mrs Reen as well good morning a good morning good evening I think it's morning for you technically right yes it is it's in the morning okay uh well hi everyone um I sit before you as one of the uh Plymouth colesio St Carlo exchange coordinators um my partner in crime partner in crime was Mr Powers and so um Mrs fitgerald is stepping in and Dr vendetti is also stepping in uh to help out this year as well um I have in front of me I have Professor Susanna Frank and I am student Angelica Bellman um they arrived uh yesterday uh they've been here a little over 24 hours and so uh we're going to give them an opportunity to kind of speak can share their experience so far and what they look forward to um and then when they're done I'll give you a couple other highlights based upon what they say good afternoon uh I'm Angelica bman and I've been staying with Molly white cotton okay with Molly white cotton uh recent I've tried like many different things and I've been liking them all so far it's really different from Italy even the school system like we don't change classes like we stay in the same classroom which is like really confusing sometimes um I'm expecting to learn about the different teaching systems from the differences between American teaching system and the Italian one and even uh how the different traditions in America since we're I think I'm spending with them um Thanksgiving cool have you done anything fun today we went to the mall I think to the yeah and I tried mac and cheese for the first time oh it's like really heavy yeah it is it is very heavy well yeah it was good just a lot of [Laughter] cheese I'm very honored to be here and to to meet you and uh it's the first time for me here in Massachusetts and I'm very thankful that we have this opportunity for this exchange I think for our students is really an amazing amazing experience as Angelica said to see a different uh school system different curriculums uh Sometimes some things are the same like I found today uh a book that we read that the children are reading here and it's the same that we read over in um uh in Italy it's it was the the war the war that saved my life yes uh so I think think it gives like um like a opens opens students minds and probably it's going to be the same when your students are going to come over uh in February and uh we will be very pleased and honored to to welcome them we received a very warm welcome here yesterday when we arrived so it's it's really it was really nice of you so thank you very much thank you uh just so you are aware they changed this year instead of coming Saturday to Saturday we were able to push them to go Sunday to Sunday so that we could participate in Thanksgiving this weekend and so the students um have been graciously invited by Mr Deo to sit on the hill for the parade um and and participate in that way and so it really gets obviously a chance for them to see this is the first time we've had the exchange during this time uh and so it gives us students and chaperons an opportunity to really see what Plymouth Massachusetts is all about because this is like the biggest day as we all know so it was it was really easy to convince them to want to do that but um we have a pretty pretty packed um schedule this week today was sort of a school day if you happen to be at pcis which they are both at South Middle unfortunately pcis had Fall Fest so our students to get to to celebrate and and and be involved in that um on tomorrow they're actually all headed to South High which is something we added this year sort of um a tour of a very unique High School setting which is not something that they typically get to see uh and then culinary is treating them to some New England fair for lunch uh which is great Wednesday they're off to Boston to experience uh MIT the Freedom Trail uh do some things in that area on Thursday off to Plymouth pit uh in the rain it seems like uh unfortunately and also to see uh the Mayflower um and and spend some time there um and then Friday we have a typical American Experience uh set in stone and some some don't know what it is so I'm going to keep it still a surprise uh and then Saturday like I said is the parade and then before you know it they'll be off on Sunday and we'll be going in in February so um it's it's been a great experience um I am getting to experience it also as a host mom this year because my own daughter's participating so uh life is a little crazy but it's okay they are shopping right now um and uh we will see them at home in a little while so anything else you'd like to to add I don't think so you don't think so I tried the pizza here what do you think a lot of cheese it's way more greasy but it's good yeah yours is way better we're really looking forward to all this nice program and and again thank you all because you the trip it's been great so far so thanks for having us enk you does anybody have any questions it's not a question it's it's more a statement um you know I've never had the opportunity to be in exchange but this summer and actually this past fall um had an opportunity to meet people who have gone through this EX change program um uh from like a European um point of view and it made such a profound profound impact on their lives and so I'm so happy that we you know as a school um as a district um participate in this and um and have the ability to do you know this like even exchange in a sense so um welcome thank you and many thanks also to the parents who like I know that for them is a great is a is a lot so thank you thank you very much that home component is it's so valuable is the best part of this program like just the it was awkward right it was kind of awkward it was a little it was a little weird like it's just to get over that hump though and experience that as um some students are actually 12 um our H student is 12 she'll be 13 in a couple weeks so to be in that scenario and know what to do um and and at the same time you're American student trying to be super helpful and making them comfortable like it's it's it's such a Growing Experience it's anybody else unique Mr Jack I was just going to say I didn't I haven't participated in the Italy but I did with the J Japanese students and same thing like being part of a host experience and my daughter's hoing in seventh grade so hopefully next year maybe she'll apply to go to Italy um it was just huge and I will say we went to Italy this summer and your pizza and your pasta are much better and a special thanks to our sheph room I know Mrs derky is here in the back um but our sherons as well who are participating in field trips and doing all of their work that they normally do during this week as well so thank you to them no big thank you for putting it all together for you all being willing to be a part of this I think uh like everybody has said that cultural exchange piece is so important and you know I I find it funny that macaroni and cheese seems to be a theme through all of our cultural exchanges whether it's our Japanese exchange students or it's our Italian it always seems to be something that comes up it's well it's always about food that's how you like really get to know a culture right that's what we all tell ourselves uh I mean I travel for the food uh and the people of course but uh but thank you so much much for being willing to come and really experience this because it's really great for our students here that maybe don't get to go to Italy but they at least they get to have the opportunity to interact with the students so thank you so much we're really happy to have you it's an honor for us so thank you thank you and thank you for all your work thank youbody have a good rest of your trip have a good night maybe we'll all see you on Saturday that's right the hill all right and then we've had the next uh the Plymouth North High School field trip has been removed from the agenda so we won't be covering that um this time and then the next sorry Mr Morgan did you have a question no no I just didn't know it was removed yep just knew I just learned about it that it's me sharing it with you right now um and then we've got our communication so we've got a superintendence report Dr Campbell thank you uh pretty brief uh so budget we're doing a lot of budget media series we continue to try to get the word out on our budget and school finances we'll give a budget update um momentarily um Dr bla D and I recorded six short videos with Ed TV which should be coming out shortly we'll be rolling those out we did one on the introduction to the budget short the budget shortfalls and contract negotiations from last year how we try to promote transparency the changing demographics transportation and one on facilities and maintenance so I look forward to releasing those the those should be completed and released shortly uh we recorded our third program at the local scene just last week on facilities and maintenance and that came out really well and that should be airing very soon um and just scheduled for January with Pac TV a community conversations I think that did the 21st of January where we'll do a probably less than 18 minute uh video kind of to kind of kick off before Springtown meeting to be able to share information with the general public about some pertinent things and we also did an ATD um is that last week 11th yeah here's what I found sorry Siri wants sir Siri is listening apparently to me um and we'll be doing a third recording with ATD like coming to the office um on Friday to do something that will go out before during the Thanksgiving break yeah so look forward to that um had a great session at masc Mass I'll leave that for Miss Badger and Miss Shaw to speak about later but um very positive um and just qu any questions that people may have about question two so as you know question two passed eliminating 10th grade mcast as a condition for graduation so according to the guidance provided by the secretary of the Commonwealth the earliest of the law goes into effect is December 5th of this year so high school still need to earn a a competency determination in order to graduate so since 2003 that's been based on a qualifying score from mcass um when the new law takes in goes into effect in December it will be based on satisfactory completing coursework that's been certified by the students District which was written on the ballot question so there'll be more guidance forthcoming from desie on that I imagine that there'll be some kind of sort of standardization of that across the Commonwealth I would think so we should see more you know hear more about that but that's what that's related to in terms of uh right now that's what that has to do with um so as I learn more about that certainly share that um and Hometown voices did a um our first student Spotlight episode was released a week or so ago actually did one today did a recording around 3:30 today on student exchanges um and we had a couple students and staff that have been involved in that um very powerful transformative experience for students and staff as someone who is posted I think eight times myself from all over the world um for students in for this District I can tell you personally it's a it's a very very worthwhile experience so um that's all I have this evening Mr bazano yeah a question on the mcast requirement with it taking effect this DEC does that apply to the students in the class 2025 or like where does it actually cut in like what classes it I think it will immediately immediate okay yeah pretty much Dr thornson is it possible for just a generic question is it possible for districts to establish their their graduation requirements in addition to the requirements of the Commonwealth yes so it is therefore also possible correct we wanted to have a comprehensive exam connected to our diploma we could do that I I believe so I don't see that there would be anything under Mass General law that would preclude a district from doing that I know the the course graduation requirement it's always varied from District to District some districts have mass core as a requirement which is a number of courses um in years of those courses I know years ago we had three years of math as a graduate relational requirement we moved that up to four so we've done things internally ourselves so I I would imagine that um yes I would guess if we could do that we could have a requirement for a comprehensive exam and if that's a possibility I would encourage Central office to give us a recommendation at some point as to whether or not we think that's something that is important to our district and I think that's part of the question too is allowing it to go back to the districts to determine what is the what obviously the state but also the district to what is your what are your graduation requirements anybody else have any questions no okay thank you you're welcome next we have retirements Mr chopi yes good evening I have two retirements share with you uh they're going to seem very similar in nature uh we have Mary Lee Fetner who is at Indian Brook Elementary School she was a a classroom pair professional after 20 years just this past week is retired and Carol Parsons also from Indian Brook Elementary School classroom pair professional 20 years as well and she will be retiring in at the end of February uh of this year Mr pan I'm MEF of the committee and the district I like to thank these women for their 40 years of service to the district aome thank you so much all right now we have Committee Member reports does anybody have anything they would like to share with the rest of the committee Mr Morgan I'll just kind of piggyback on what Quinn said in regards to the Veterans Day ceremony that was the largest turnout I've seen so far and I've been to quite a few of them in terms of the veterans over over a hundred that's probably accurate yeah that's um and the school does such a great great job with it so um happy to participate in it and uh again they they do a really good job yeah thank you for going and thank you for your service and Mrs sha did you have um yeah so I was able to attend the masc conference um I didn't get to as many things as I wanted to get to but the things that I got to were really interesting um I went to a special education update that was um the speakers of the panel were um attorneys like District Attorneys um not district attorneys attorneys for districts um and they were going over like bsea decisions that were made and like what led to those decisions and I thought that was very interesting um and just to see how that whole process works a little more in depth um and then I did another one related to special education and it was the um I can't remember which district begins with an S but they had a very um interesting approach to increasing like literacy and um test scores basically amongst elementary students um which I thought was very very interesting and then I came to find out that the woman that um was leading that panel was the same woman that came and did our professional development for special education um like the day prior um so I thought that was really awesome that um because I thought it was a really great approach so I was very happy to learn that um she was the person that came and did our professional development um she was very knowledgeable and um had interesting approaches um and then I did do the um the votes all of the all of it all of them passed with varying levels of opposition um some of them passed with almost no opposition the one that had the most opposition was the one that was related to the prop two and half override um many of the districts shared the same feeling that we kind of had that like that type of thing May create more animosity between school committees and select boards and taxpayers and that kind of stuff um where you're kind of just giving someone one side a pass essentially um but it did it still passed um but it had quite more opposition than most of the other ones um ours only had opposition from a man I could I I'm not going to name it because I can't remember anyway but he was from a Regional School District and he just wasn't happy about it um but it but there were several people that weren't me that got up and in support of it um and spok in support so it was it was pretty great um it was an interesting experience because it was my first time um so if I get to go again next year I think I'll know a little more and be able to navigate a little more but it was really interesting I really enjoyed it awesome thank you so much thank you for being our representative Mr Jackson did you have I thought I was out your hand okay sorry anybody else anything that they want to share no okay so I've got a couple things so I'll just the masc conference Dr Campbell and I were on a panel for Secure Storage it was to support that amend uh the resolution um and it went really well I mean we had some really great feedback there was a gentleman in the audience who um talked about how NRA has a program The Eagle I wrote it down somewhere and it sounds a lot like what we have and it might be a good partner for us to partner with because you know it's all about Secure Storage and education it's not about removing guns or anything from anybody and and and so everybody really kind of it was a great panel with stoen Framingham and some place really far away um not Adams it's was wait was it North Adams I don't know she was well that's pretty far away it was Connecticut like really far away um all kind of had things to share giving to support the the resolution and it was I think really well well done and um people ask us a lot of questions about our health fair which I thought was was really good people are and the different ways that that people are sharing the message about the Secure Storage within the districts are are really broad some people do one day some people have a really long a bunch of things throughout the year so it was um really interesting in the websites we talked about potentially doing a website on our side so there's a place for the resources to live um but but yeah so it was it was really it was fun to be a part of uh and then um I had a pilgrim collaborative meeting last Thursday I think uh and we had our a clean audit we are we're all set for the year and we're also are going to get about $50,000 either in a credit or a check back to the district I don't know if they've sent you the email yet but perfect uh but that is because we've been doing so well the collaborative itself for the first few years that I was on it I think gave us like $2,000 or $55,000 back and um unfortunately or fortunately for the collaborative we there's a increased need for the services and so they've been you know doing better than their projected numbers so as a member district we get about $50,000 uh to put towards next year's or this year's tuitions I should say um we've had we had a budget subcommittee last week and I know there'll be an update on it so I um but we just want to make sure that everybody knows that we've been in Con in conversations with um Dicky as well as Kevin I should say um Mr Quint Mr KY uh we've been in conversations with them so they know what's happening on the district side um and that there there are no surprises to make sure that we're all on the same page as we continue to build the budget and I know that there's a whole lot to share and some exciting news if you can call a budget's exciting um we've had a really exciting uh presentation coming up uh and then then on Saturday I had a chance to see almost Maine at South which I thought was two weeks ago cuz I'm I just showed up at the school and I was like wait there's nothing here um so it was really great the students had amazing comedic timing I that it was just I didn't even know what I was going in to see I didn't know what almost main was but uh it was really really well put together the students did an amazing job and uh it was nice to be able to be there to support them um but yeah that that is my um report I think um oh and the Veterans Day ceremony also thank you Mr Morgan for attending that with me as well so thank you uh and then the next p thing we have is our Master planning we are we are meeting we're meeting Wednesday and you have one right now right uh there's a yeah yeah yeah yeah okay thank you and then the next piece of uh business is my letter of resignation as everybody here knows I was lucky enough to um win the first PL District State Rep seat so um it's going to be really weird but I will be stepping down from um school committee effective the um 17th of December and um I'm going to move up 9o oh if no one has any um objections just to talk about the process that's going to happen um we are so what will happen is tomorrow morning an announcement will go out um to the town of Plymouth on on our social media and hopefully on the towns as well sharing that with an opening it it will be somebody to fill the remainder of this year's term so from January 6th to uh or not sixth whatever January 27th through um May 15th or 14th whatever that date is that the the election is so that person is filling about a f Monon period of time and so what will happen is they will apply with a letter of interest and a resume and they have from November 19th to December 19th to get that information into uh to central office to Trisha corre yes and then um from there on January 6th we'll have a joint meeting or you'll have a joint meeting with the select board and um interview all of the candidates together it'll be the same I think last time we did four questions but those questions are decided amongst the um committee as to what you want to ask um and everyone gets about 10 minutes depending on the number of individuals who apply and from there there's a joint vote that between the select board and the school committee decide what candidate um will be the person to fill the the seat and at that point um person is on the school committee effective when he or she get sworn in when they get sworn in and then the first meeting is um January 27th I believe it is something like that yes um and I I tried to make it as least disruptive as possible so that there'll be only one meeting when you're only six members of the school committee um but I know I'll have more time at another meeting to thank you all for your uh working with you but um I'm I'm I really am hopeful that you get I know you'll get a wonderful uh member just if you all know anybody anybody out there watching I'm not even sure where the cameras are where I should look um I should look at the screen here um it'll tell me but please you know if you're a doer and you're interested in being involved this is some of the most rewarding work that you'll get an opportunity so I do encourage you to um apply and um hopefully become the next uh School Committee Member and then from there it'll be a re um figuring out like um a reorganization as well probably at that first meeting on the 27th um we do not have a policy on that reorganization piece we were talking about but um that's kind of for you all to move forward with but that's the anybody have any questions on the process yes Mr Morgan um you said it'll go out in social media is that the school social media or the town both both okay that's that's our goal so we'll send it to the town asking them to put it on their website and through their Communications coordinator and I've already scheduled to to request our communication to go out on our website and all of our social media accounts as well but miss Badger really articul ated that well sort of how to apply the candidate for here the interviews who would be involved qualifications to and then to send everything to Mrs lisof at my office and then we'll disseminate everything to to all of you and to the select board prior to that joint meeting here yeah and it'll be in person I last time we did I was ask that last was it'll be in person that is an actual scheduled meeting for the school committee so last time we were in Zoom with Mr trelli had stepped down so um we won't be in Zoom this time no everyone in person so anybody else have any other questions no awesome thank you all though what we do need is a um a motion to accept the letter and have the meeting isn't that is that what it is I don't think we need to accept but we do need the to vote to request participation in election to appoint a new member yes sorry I moved 9.0 up or 9.1 just because it was weird Mr Pano I move that in accordance with Master law we we uh we request participation in an election to appoint a new member in conjunction with the select board thank you I have a motion do I have a second thank you Mr Morgan do I have any questions on the motion all right seeing none we should be able to vote awesome motion passes awesome thank you all for your help and getting that all together all right now we'll go back to our regularly scheduled programming here so Plymouth building committee did you Mr Morgan all right we did meet last week um update um on Memorial Hall they received three proposals for a feasibility study they're going to choose one of them and move forward with the feasibility there is funds for that to identify the things that need to be done to fix the building and then they'll have to come back for some more money at that point to do the repair so uh more to come there fire stations station two which is West Plymouth uh the warranty inspection will be done in December there's a back charge ow to the town from the general contractor due to delays and there's some doors that need to be installed with that project Project's essentially done we had an open house on the 7th but was during the day on a Thursday so I couldn't attend but um I Heard it went pretty well um station five um I think that's manat they're still behind schedule they are improving but they're still behind schedule new completion date is December 13 2024 at least that's what they say um School roofs um they're down to punch items reinstalling lightning protection um apparatus um and that's pretty much it um unless um Mr P am I missing anything on that I was actually not there the other night but um no I think punch list is really where we're at right now we have the closing documents and um now we're just trying to wrap things up with msba as well awesome yes awesome thank you anybody have any questions awesome thank you for that thank you for that report Personnel reports Mr jopy uh yes uh recently we approved one parental leave we had five medical leaves uh we accepted two resignations and we had one classified appointment awesome thank you always staying busy all right now we have our budget update um Dr Campbell Dr blell let me start 25 first and then let's go over 25 first we we'll give you an update on 25 and then talk about where we are with 26 um there are three attachments um on tonight's agenda um right now this was all put up on OCT on November 13th A lot changes in a couple days right now um so if you look at the one that talks about the fy2 budget status which is got the small um Pi which is green blue and peach or so um what it does it shows you our original appropriation of just 118,000 um in the second column it shows you any transfers or adjustments that have occurred to date um one of the transfers that you see there is the $1.9 million that was from the salary Reserve um since this was done we also received the other transfer from the salary Reserve which was about $698,000 um so it show this one shows the revised budget of 12, 666,000 but the actual the new revised number is now 21, 365,000 so that includes both transfers that town meeting approved um as well um so you'll see here um what we have left at the end of the at the end right now it's about says about 7.8 million it's actually a little higher than that um and that's it's about 8 83 8.4 somewhere in there um and that shows the addition additional money from the salary Reserve um right now when you look at the year to date which is the other one that shows each cost center and all the orgs um the objects I should say um you're going to see a lot of negatives that was because that was before we did the transfers for all the salaries from the salary Reserve so today we did all the salary transfers um so this year-to-date report that you have that shows a lot of negatives in all of the the salary lines looks completely different this afternoon so um um but there is still like I said there is still a little over $8 million available um that we're working with at this current moment in time um and that includes all the money for salaries that are encumbered and so forth things that aren't necessarily encumbered um are things like coaches and advisors and things that don't necessarily they not don't have a a full base salary to it but um so those are those are that's kind of some of the available sub salary money substitutes is available sub salary money as well so we don't encumber that money it it sits there we know we kind of track it through the year to try and make a projection to see where we're at and how much money we have left so it's it's not necessarily it's not encumbered at this point in time um and at the bottom you see the 45s and sixes contracted Services supplies and materials and other expenses um we have most of our major contracts encumbered as well our bus contracts our our special ed tuition contracts are um different contract um what are some other things that we use um computer software and so forth so a lot of I'm trying to think I'm like what was that um so a lot of those are encumbered so a lot of that money left is really just supplies um that haven't been spent at this point in time so that is fy2 in a quick nutshell if anybody has any questions about no go go ahead thank you Dr Campbell do you want me to start with 26 do you want me to I'll I'll start and let you go through the the details as we know it right now so um last time we met we discussed um the projection where we were with sort of the budget process with the town for FY 26 so we knew that there was an approximate amount of money for anticipated Revenue we weren't sure of the debt service and what we would have to deduct from that re new Revenue um but we knew that based on our contracts and where our budget was coming in you know preliminary numbers that there'd be a shortfall uh happy to say that that shortfall is nowhere near where we thought it may be so asked Dr blazel to kind of walk through that now and I I think it's a good message this is better than it's been for us in recent years so this um this shortfall should be something that we can um address strategically internally without much of a an issue so Dr blaz if you want to walk through sure um the third document on there um the one that says FY 26 PPS draft budget again in five days has changed changed a bit um but in regards to some of the numbers they're they're pretty close um so when you start at the top it it shows our revised budget of 121 M365 1,299 that was the number I referenced just a few moments ago in regards to FY 25 um so we're using that really as our starting point um the the re the new Revenue we weren't we had a lot of changes in there we were looking at health insurance property insurance um and so unemployment so that number had kind of shifted until we really kind of finalized those um debt Services Dr Campbell had had referenced um that is actually level funded for this current coming year so we're not going to actually see any increases to that so that's actually helping us as well as the monies that are available um in this document you'll see that it's $ 5,571 th000 um new revenue for next year um we're actually bumped that up just a little bit it's going to be 5,771 182 s it's somewhere um 5 5,773 47 is actually what it is so it's bumped up by about $200,000 um so that allows us to to look at an FY 26 budget of about $127 million um to look at all of our contractual increases looking at um in contractual employee increases but also other contracts contracts as well um bus contracts special education tuition special education tuitions um utilities we'll have a conversation about utilities um as we move forward because there was a pretty large increase there as well um but we're looking at how do we kind of shrink that for the the next fiscal year or at least maybe to save us some money for next year um so when we look at that originally we're looking at about $900,000 over for availability what we have so what probably about two months ago um Mr chaui and I talked a little bit about um the job description for custodians and getting permission from the state about split funding some of our custodians who do a lot of work in the cafeteria during the day um to split fund those and and allow us to use some cafeteria funds to pay for those so by doing that we're going to be looking at saving about $300,000 um out of budget money um so by doing that we're looking at at this moment in time about $612,000 um as a reduction at this point in time um it says 634 635 on this but again some things have changed in that so um so we're looking like I said about 612 613 615 somewhere in there of reductions um we haven't defined those at this point in time we're working on that um but it gives us a little bit more time to figure that out yeah um before town meeting and and so forth before the end of the year yeah so this is relatively good news considering where we've been in the last five years really in terms of those reductions so um keep in mind that we have reduced our supply lines over time even the budget that we're developing now has some reductions there but I having said that I think that um the budget that we will present to you December 2nd will be responsive to the students needs but I also think that we'll be able to as Dr blaz doell said we have time to figure that out a lot of things can change even last year when we had to make some significant changes um there were some things that changed over the course of you know two or three months after making that decision that helped us to strategically um help a lot of employees so with this number being a fraction of where we were last year I do feel that we will be able to handle this sufficient moving forward so I think this budget will be that we present to you will be a fair budget for us moving forward understanding the financial circumstances of the town thank you does anybody have any questions M I'm sorry qualification uh not no not qualification clarification if we are splitting the uh the salary of the custodian between the revenue source of our budget and the revenue source of the cafeteria uh budget I have two questions one I'm assuming the funds there on the cafeteria side to pick that up and secondly it will not impact the individual in any way they're still going to get the same amount of money at the same time it's just coming from two different sources correct yes they won't honestly and truly they won't know any different whatsoever okay um they'll still get their normal paycheck and one amount um and right now the cafeteria revolving um the state and federal government the their reimbursement rates have increased over the prior year um so that is running right now about 3.6 million um that they have in their fund okay thank you thank you anybody else I know that you told us in the budget subcommittee about the consolidation of some of the budget lines and I know you'll talk more when you do the budget presentation but I didn't know if you wanted to share that before people have a chance to look at like we talked about um subs and other things like that yes um so yes when you see because you'll see that document um before we meet again yeah um so we did we made a couple different changes you'll see there's a whole new cost center um there'll be a cost center 37 which is strictly dedicated to Transportation um if you were trying to find transportation in our old budget or current budget you had to go through many different cost centers to find it to find different pieces of it so it's all been brought into one cost center so you can see where the transportation is um and it's going to be in cost center 370 um so you'll see in special education you'll see in my cost to 358 you'll see um in pupil Personnel 348 you'll see lines that been zeroed out which were millions of dollars before or hundreds of thousands of dollars before it's all been moved to the 370 so that's one thing you'll notice another thing you'll notice um is you'll notice that all the substitute lines and all the individual schools have been zeroed out and all of that has been moved to 350 a lot of times what you would see in some of those lines is you might see $250 $500 in a long-term subline well long-term Subs usually get back to step one which is a couple hundred several hundred dollars you maybe paid a day from that line and then we were transferring anyway so what I did is I moved the money to one line and I'll we'll be transferring through the year to cover the negatives um and then that way we don't have four or five lines in every single school and then have to move them so it's it's moving where it's it's used um let's see what else those are two of the DraStic ones that you'll probably see see yeah yeah I think you we and we'll highlight some of this in the presentation you'll see some lines that will be significantly reduced and others that may be up but overall it's down so there's been some shifts and we've seen that before where there may be no textbooks but there's more supplies so you'll see some shifts so really not paying attention to the increases or decreases of the four fives and six lines the non-personnel lines because it's really they're really down overall um so there's really not a lot to learn from those lines but we'll go through that in detail on the second as well thank you I just wanted to make sure that when people got a chance to look at the document they weren't like why are these negative or what's happening over here so thank you for that clarification um anybody else have anything yep Mrs Jackson oh and then I didn't know if Dr Campbell wanted to speak to how you were going to present this time because you were talking about how thank you yeah I should that it's kind of a an important thing so Dr blazel and I will be doing a lot of talking this time um considering the state of where our budget has been for the last five years and we have our princip all our principles coordinators and directors cross Center managers will be in attendance however our thinking was rather than having them come up as an elementary group go through each eight all eight elementary schools say something very common um we Dr blaz D and I will go through their cost centers and if there's any questions to their budgets that you have or questions for them of course we'll have have them come up they really haven't built much in this budget a lot of the work has been sort of uh requested of them or sort of determined by us in terms of where that has gone because we haven't added anything we're not adding any programs we're not adding a lot of supplies and materials it's really made some you know careful considerations so there's really not of a lot of information so rather than have them do that we'll be providing a lot more information than we typically do I've added a lot of information that kind of gets into school our school finances and the state of our schools as well and how that shaped our budget so there'll be a lot even before we get to the bud budget presentation itself for FY 26 but thank you foring bringing that up Miss Jackson so our thinking was rather them have that do that we can walk through those cost centers in a pretty efficient manner as well thank you anything else no awesome thank you for that update we look forward to seeing the budget and all all right does anybody have any unfinished or new business all right then we will move on to the consent agenda does anybody have anything that needs to be removed from the consent agenda right seeing none I can take a um motion for the consent agenda I Mo that we approve the 1118 consent agenda is presented all right we have a motion do I have a second thank you Mrs Haywood do I have any questions on the motion seeing none we should be able to vote and that motion passes unanimously wonderful all right so our consent agenda we didn't have any items pulled so um if it looks like that's the end our meeting so I will call the school committee meeting of November 18th uh to close at 7:53 have a great evening everybody thank you that was like a summertime one e e e e e e
