signify by saying I I opposed motion carries next up comments from the general public I have no signups cently any public like speak hands up bring it back to our agenda first item up is the Centennial logos on August 5th City Centennial committee met and discussed ideas for the event one idea was to create a logo for the Centennial Celebration that would be used on all Flyers postings and event promotions City staff post post on the website and Facebook to have citizens create a design and the committee would select a finalist there are 12 submissions to choose from um we have those in the packet and we've also had like a late submission here of some additional ones should be at your station yeah so so in uh instead of the 12 we have the 12 that are in the packet plus what are what was given to us that was today right Ashley was that today the email came through on Sunday did um do we have a deadline um it's still going on I guess it's still going on up until the point that we select one and then we can go ahead release to everyone um I'd like to uh exclude myself from any selection here um because I I have submitted mle ideas okay so don't tell us which on why uh two of two of the ideas were submitted by myself by me and another one by another member of Staff who are not on the committee so I would like to um exclude myself so I was I was Wonder I looked there was great submissions um and I thought maybe we could um you could pull those can you ask the screen's off I'm sorry the screen off I guess yes they off you can show those logos right I can pull it up in agenda pack I can share my screen too if you want oh yeah that might work thank you no problem actually I want to say that these these look better than the first time that we had it we were having a hard time matching these logos up but in the pack but they look pretty good now you actually I think I skipped something here go through comments see those on the agenda oh that's why there's no comments from the board stuff in the agenda okay so before modify that okay um why don't we um I'll pause this agenda and we'll go back just make sure if there's any mment from the the board I'll start uh right with M Thompson coms um I wanted to know if we can pick some dates um for certain events so I can have like reserve it with f or anything like that so we can put it on the books and let people know know when we do that um one of the thing I talked to um Cheryl and she has a uh kind of put together a plan based on 100 days or whatever so we might get into that tonight to kind of look at that after we go through the two agenda items and maybe we can maybe come up with some dates there okay um the anything else did you add no okay um no no not time um the only thing that I had I I thought about after our last meeting um the I had Matt talk to S about looking into potential to Rebrand one of the parks as Centennial Park I thought that'd be a good idea um obviously there they're all named n Park Brasher Park after some folks so ideally I would think it would be either Waterfront Park or Nicks park and if Nicks Park you call it Nicks Centennial Park so keep the name but add Centennial to it Waterfront Park could potentially be uh just Centennial Park at that point or if it need to stay Waterfront Waterfront Centennial Park or something like that um did you find out anything of naming issues he did mention he did mention it to me we talked very briefly on but um I think if uh whichever Park we choose to go ahead and do that then I can I can do more research um you know approach it all depends on which Park like Waterfront Park you know obviously is a general name Park um we did submit that name to the state I don't think I don't think that's GNA be too much of an issue to to change the name or at least add to it but um the other ones I I I would strongly urge to keep the names because each of those Parks olner Nicks um whims slow brancher are all named after you know founding families sure in the area so um adding the word Centennial probably you know would probably be the best bet as far as like totally rebranding it but um whichever Park we choose to go forward with and I'll start researching on that particular one what's your thoughts on the on say say we chose Nicks call it Nicks Centennial Park I like like I said I like that idea I'm sure no one would have any any issues doing that um I would lean either either between Nicks Park you know Nick park or Waterfront because Waterfront is probably where we're going to have most of the celebration right being and that's kind of what I was thinking as well U either one of those just because they're kind of central to our our our draw area that's where the focus of the city is um you maybe Nicks Park is right in the center of it all um depend on what happens with that area going forward but definitely Waterfront Park what you's thoughts on which park I had to send my notes to discuss later so um I wanted to suggest the Waterfront part because we were talking about doing a revitalization of the Waterfront and that way we could Rebrand it at that time um like as a ribbon cutting right starting it off new so yeah Waterfront we I I like Nick water Nick's Waterfront I think it has a nicer ring to it so and Waterfront I think is you know especially if we're going to revitalize it down there leave at Waterfront or you can name something else but Nicks Nicks has a better ring to it than Waterfront Centennial Park or Centennial Waterfront Park my personal opinion we well to use those two and see what we can do and what and um come back and make a decision on that so we have to make that now obviously but um sound like we're all kind of on board we should have a park kind of yeah renamed to Centennial with in the wording I think it be cool and I know we talked about some kind of Monument or whatever to Mark the the um the fifth the 100th year um we incorporate head into the the park name and may signage or whatever we decide to do um see there anything else I um did we I know you put out for the logo did we have um I didn't see anything about soliciting ideas from residents on possible events and other things did we no I did not I did not do that but I can go ahead start doing that if you'd like yeah maybe we can um get the list that we kind of put together and in the minutes it wouldn't didn't list any of those things out but obviously you had I think you were taking the notes um but if we can maybe get those kind of out there and then we get some stuff added I actually had one I wanted to add but it's it's escaped me for right now but yeah I have some also that I would like to add um I don't know if I speak about it now or about it later um say let's do it afterwards and we'll go through the the Gen we'll come back and we'll we we'll talk some more about Events maybe I'll remember M as well um before we move on I just want to clarify so do we want to gather the list of events that we have ideas and then put them out to Facebook or do we just want to ask people in general ideas like more ideas than what we have yeah I I would put together here's a list that we've got it's a evolving list right um that way people don't they look through there and say oh they got mine idea whatever but if they have see something that's not there they can request it and then we can kind of keep that and then at some point we can go through and actually vet and see what we want to do um which ones what you know if there's any c Sur on or what we need to do to to do that okay so um as soon as we I don't know if we're gonna like I said discuss this after these other first these business we'll come back to that yeah and then we'll come back to that and then we'll have to you know we'll figure out what that list is and as soon as I get it emailed I'll go ahead and put that out Facebook and and the website okay um okay so moving on to the back to item number one so I won't introduce it again but um s levels so I'm G to share my screen so we can kind of put those up I not see an option to share here oh there a big green arrow looking at me okay see if I can so what I was wondering what you guys thought Al we have a bunch of these and some good ones um we could um protocol wise do we want to do we want to as a as a group select this or do we maybe want to maybe pick the top three to five or something and then put that out kind of for vote for the residents to give their opinion you know we kind of select the finalists or whatever and then what your thoughts are just again I don't know what time frame is that we would actually need this we probably need it sooner than later it's it's probably going to be sooner than later and I'm sure she can speak to that is that if we're going to start organizing flyers and and and and promoting promoting events this is this is like the first step of getting that done um so we can start promoting that and getting that out there what what is the the 100 day start February February 25th 7 yeah okay so um so we do got a little time yeah we gotta get the sponsorships there right that I think for building up the sponsorships and building up excitement you know um if we can give them some choices and it also gets them to buy in and participate as a community sorry okay um make sure that you know we get them to to buy in and and participate as a community so I think the more we can put put them in the process of choosing things the better off we are and even to you know the renaming of the park we might find a partnership with the local Sign Company because we do have them within the city to go ahead and do the sign for the park for the unveiling at that point well I wonder if we were if we were to go ahead in our meeting tonight pick some final finalist three and we decide how many we want as we go through these or whatever and put those up to vote and we can put a deadline on that today is 19th we have a council meeting on the 27th um I we have 18 ideas including the six that we just got so if we can get it down to three that'd be great we could put those three out have a vote all this week and next week and give it through the end of the month and then we could our next meeting would be on the second on our two we we're doing them on Tuesday Tuesday oh that's right we're flipping to Tuesdays okay so we'll be on the third and so we could we could tally the results in and choose that and that that only gives us two weeks it allows the citizens kind of weigh in as well big thing I mean you agree with that I agree right let's go film and see if we can somehow get to a uh top three if we can't do that maybe we can extend to five I wouldn't do no more than five I don't think but uh to top three would be good start with so here's our first one um basically our same logo with a wrapper um around it with the Centennial cration um if we wanted to obviously keep you know keep the logo somewhat um consistent what we have now and I don't know so what's your thoughts just because you've been with the city a while and may seen some before after we we cross that 100-year threshold we will still use our same logos we always had or if we would do something like this would we have we want to keep that going forward into our logo I don't know what it's all involved in in that but if we were going to maybe change our logo for the 100 years this might be a a good um what keep say well the this is more or less our official seal official seal the sentenal logo will just you know is being is particular to that event just for the EV you know if if we're going to go ahead and change the the seal that that that will have to go before Council and that have to be a decision for Council okay um so I I really wouldn't want to go in that route yet as more or less just picking something that's going to you know be a logo for for this event up for the 100 Day celebration and then if you want to present to council say you know we want to start talking about a creating a new logo afterwards you know maybe somewhere in the city seal put putting 1925 to to to you know 2025 yeah maybe some point after that we can incorporate since 1925 in Theo or something again I don't know what people's thoughts are but or like since 1925 like below the below the banner where it's talks about the river like right under there you know since 1925 then that would be just something for Council to vote on and change change this city seal that's something we can do like I said I don't I just I didn't know what what the city's were search logos what they do is is it traditional that once you reach a a milestone age if you if you do do a rebranding of your logo again there's costs involv in that so I don't necessarily think it's necessary but I just want to throw it out there that this would be something that very similar to we have now um then there was this one that incorporated the um hair see4 100th anniversary it has the still house out there um kind of in oldfashioned um photo [Music] look we had the very colorful see p Richie 100th anniversary sailboats water and palm trees kind of cartoonish for this one I I really liked it's a good picture of the The Still House Richie has you know the off Manatee celebrating 100 years 1925 2025 very colorful this one here 100 years see4 Richie Florida with the boat Shrimp Boat or whatever in a palm tree that was kind of cool too very um uh the less is more type concept it's just yeah it's um I did like that one as well really liked all of them this is another kind of play on the other one with the has the Pelican there you celebr 100 years with the sunset going on picture and then uh then they kind of had this beachy Waterfront boat dockage thing um I like the concept of this one doesn't necessarily really apply to our how our city looks or whatever but it was kind of neat that they Incorporated that kind of De with the city this one here is again I liked it the U it had the fire department I guess I see a fire department picture in the background I almost thought that when I saw this one um if they could have Incorporated the stilled house in Boston back this this would be a little bit more um I don't know it's 100 years just had the firehouse I think a little bit of History I think the reason why they used the firehouse is that it was originally originally the city hall oh was that right okay oh is that City Hall there it do say City Hall there okay interesting that makes sense now it was a combination of your fire department police department okay yeah yeah that's uh now that makes sense [Music] now so that was that was a good one too um this one here s for Richie our gateway to the golf 100 C celebration 1925 2025 this one here was kind of artsy with the the the Blue Water stuff behind it sunset palm trees extra wording gway the GOL and on the beautiful pthi River this one I I really like too the um I thought this kind of captured uh the essence of everything the sunset the palm trees the pelicans obv pelicans are mascot the docks anniversary the looks to be like Steed houses out there I guess they are Steed houses out there um so that was this is kind of really cool um as I shared this with a couple people the the only thing that um the color which I don't know if they folks have put these together if they're able to be tweaked at all but uh um but this is this kind of cool logo this one here was really cool as well um picture Behind still house and they kind of stuff going on in the middle there I think that was the that was the last one there Al I can't show these but the ones that here your desk got um do you have these we can throw up sorry do you have these email we can throw up um I do but I don't have access to Oh okay that's this here the camera can see but uh Blue's got the building there 100th anniversary see for riching another variation of that with the different coloring same thing different color again these were all submitted by the same person so they're kind of just variations of theirs circular [Music] format another version and that's is that building something I actually wondering that myself um that's what I think they use like a some sort of just a generic Town Hall I'm be honest with would always would be the circular one especially the two nice circular ones are on there I think that I think that really goes with AO I think incate this my thing is you know M wise it's cheaper to go and yeah oh turn M sorry oh sorry and it'll be it'll be a lot cheaper to shirts or you know on you know glhe head whatever the case may be yeah actually when I looked at some of these I was thinking about embroidery type stuff which some of these like the one we got up on the screen now that would be tough to embroider that unless you just did the be hard to manipulate or you know put that on everything I think it's a really nice picture yeah we really need to think about the use of these logos because the replication on shirts on banners on everything that we want to paste this logo on the more colors that we use the more expensive it is um so like that one I think would be very nice on a shirt and on the thing and the colors are muted so I don't it'd be a lot cheaper you know uh it's the variation of colors so each level of the Hue is a considered a different color yeah but the brighter they are the more expensive it is that's kind yeah the banners that we just did for boom on the bio I apologize for interrupting but the boom on the bio they were able to incorporate everything because it the way they just uploaded into the program and it prints straight on flyer straight onto the banner onto the flyer on any of the signs so you know we went with the basic color to pop or we went with with the actual picture it will it will same way okay technology is is you know used they used to have to like put each like vinyl piece together now it's just basically just ran right through the computer and print it right onto the banner yeah it's amazing so those I like I like the these here yeah those too yeah really like the Pelican one I think and then and then I guess the one well I mean this this one it's just round I like it yeah it's the blue one with a manate and dolphin oh that one there dolphin me and so it's like those two plus the one with the Pelicans we were talking about yeah that one could be made into a circle very easy yeah this he me yes that one's really if you just shrink it and turn it into a circle that would be easy because the way the palm trees are curved in it would work well it's cropping really pretty said you like I know you like these two yeah I like those two and the one with the Pelican like you said she could Circle one yeah I think the circle with the way our our deal is I think it would it would go really good together I mean you know kind of what you thought so uh well like I said I don't I don't want to pick anything you know but as far as the one like the one that's Square I think any of them any of them that are squares that's not a problem if I sent it back to the person they probably they'll be able to grab it or round it off or you know or just enlarge enlarge the circle to where it's you know like you're going to just curve here curve at the bottom you know what I'm saying no matter what you would get the full image within that Circle so I don't think that's a problem and I think I think the 100th anniversary like the first one was was nice said Centennial but I think you're going get a lot of people that you know maybe don't correlate Centennial with 100 years I think it's just simp simp think yeah those three had 100 years right even that one yeah and they also represent P VY some of them are fun but they don't actually show Port Richie off well so do you guys are you in in agreement that we move forward with this one here yes yes this one here yes yes and then this one here yes yes yes as our top three is there any reason to open up further are these you good with those three I think those do page 10 17 and what this oh yes so page um page 10 page 10 page 12 12 and 17 and 17 okay and we want to keep it to the three are we okay with that is there any other ones that are anyone's interested in putting in three is good okay you don't want to you don't want to give them too much I know you mentioned five so I don't know if you want well I mean we can I mean we don't have to liit three I mean if you guys see something that you I mean I like I said I really they're all cool I'm I'm I'm really glad that so many people participated I I was I pull it to the genda pack I was really shocked that we had that many actually look that's great fantastic I appreciate everybody's U willingness to we put a we put a prize out there for the winner actually um and I I my apologies for OV extending I offered a proclamation would be done oh absolutely person for the person who who was the finalist we would do a proclamation Council yeah that's that's that's awesome um we wouldn't love that and plus your logo is going to be all so that's uh so what I think we can do it's anniversary spelled wrong there on that one I got that so those three yes I think it's good yes okay so we'll uh if we move for those three put that together maybe if you want to get with this particular person to have them maybe reformat into preferred preferred round like I don't want to alter it so much but I'll you know um if it's if they have to dramatically change it I'll send it out to everyone first um we'll email it I'll email to the clerk and then she'll send it out to everyone just so they're okay with it because they they might have to they might have to change it a little bit in order to get the roundness to it but we'll see what they can do but I'll send that to them today okay as you have people join later here these so we moveed for these three to the the residents and folks vote to see which one is a winner so we got this one on page 17 this one here on page 12 and this one here on page 10 so one of those three will be our Centennial logo okay okay next up is oh um any public on that before I move forward the Centennial sponsor packet uh on August 5th City Centennial committee discuss developing a sponsorship packet similar to the one used for the city's boom on the B event staff has has created a St a draft for the packet if approved it will be posted to the city website and Facebook to draw and in potential sponsors for the 100 day event the sponsors will be added to all promotion materials during celebration um you guys can see the the packet there any any discussion on that you see anything that um are there other ways that we can um advertise the sponsorships or ask for them so besides just posting it on the website yeah so once you kind of say how we did on the boom on the value to get those I guess push it out via Facebook and did you email businesses or what was the protocol to try to solicit this I'm sorry I'm trying to recall I mean I know we definitely did on the website we did it on Facebook I'm trying to remember if we sent it out to um the businesses in the you know within the within the city I don't think I said it to all of them okay um I know there was particular you know particular you know uh that were approached to send the packet out too like certain certain ones in the you know cud River Landing area things like that I don't think we did a general email to every business in the city um that can be looked into um to do that so what interrup but what we did uh we you know whoever donated you know or whatever we put it on the flyer but also uh we we did a couple of uh you know small weekends but whoever like did the most money like let's say Walmart we call Walmart day or whatever you don't say it was a you know you could call you know whatever you can name it after them I have the whole day depending on how much they donate you know or whatever the case may be but we definitely put on the them on the flyer and the more they they donated the bigger their you know advertisement was on the flyer oh yeah no no absolutely I think what he's asking is that what what are the other ways that we can get it out there to attract businesses and attract someone to sponsor so so um I'm planning this is just me I'm planning to go out to local businesses and actually meet people and give them the packet and speak to them and and see if they they can I know some small businesses here they're not on the Facebook or anything like that but actually if you give it to them and you talk to them about it because as a consumer or person I see this and I'm like oh but what does this mean and and what's attached to it so that's how I want to I want to go out to local businesses and and see how they can assist and tell them about about events and tell them about things so that they can get more excited about it ask if you I shareed again I got it if you want look at it so hly we want to we want to get this disseminated to the the maximum amount of potential to to bring in these these sponsorships so um anything we can do obviously the from the city perspective to send that out whether it be a mail or possibly or something or is it too much to push it through the announcements text text like the nixel stuff that we have this avue we can definitely use and then just to have a link to the website has it posted that'd be all or nothing you couldn't do right it wouldn't hurt either only talk about all uh 3,000 on our current um our current system and then we just released we've just been releasing out to the general public today to sign to our new um we're going to be adopting a new system soon so we just started uh promoting that today and we're going to be doing that every week up until the end of September so because we're going to be switching services from nixel to Civic plus which is going to be part of our new website so um but our nixel is still active till the end of September so we can still um advertise through that um it goes out to about little over 30 33 3500 people so businesses I mean we're not just asking businesses mean like a prominent families sure I was gonna along that same line so when I looked at the the options here we was our lowest one for we want to buyue did we have 500 we had but there anything lower than that no the 500 was the lowest for the boom on a bayou um it was you know I talked to the city manager about this um he recommended starting um starting the presenting sponsor at 20,000 and working our way down so these were the the amounts that him you know that we discussed um when in preparing this packet if we want to change this we can um well so I so what I was thinking and and maybe you don't you don't you don't tie it to a specific thing a lot of times as you have like if you let play or whatever you got sponsorships or whatever you've got you know the big categories where you got the big dollars and then you just got a list of people that donated um and maybe we you could do a uh we're happy to take any am out you don't you know you won't achieve a certain thing you won't get your name on a banner but your name be listed in a as a as a donor or something that's what I thought also because sometimes they can't give like a thousand but they can give 250 or 500 a lot of add up so yes and I was GNA ask can they do that just because we give them this we'll say you know you can do a thousand you get recognition but if you just support us and yeah whatever I definitely don't want to keep somebody if they want to give us 100 bucks they don't have an option to do that so we want so I guess we want to add another another level but just a random level you know it customized would the person who donated 500 as opposed to the one who did 600 get the same same treatment or you you know what I'm saying anything less than a thousand you just all right that's fine we can add that suggestion sure when we have all these different events we also have additional opportunities so this can be tied into the sentennial but all the different events like um you know different stopping points along the K and you have all those opportunities for sponsorship in different levels so that's going to provide us with quite a bit more so and I wonder um because these are like General sponsorships you you know incorporation name and all this as we have some of these events like say it's a fishing tournament or 5K or whatever do we want to do we do we need to have the the ability for them to say I want to sponsor but I want to particularly sponsor this one event or something you know until we have all those kind laid out I guess we don't really know well this particular packet was made for the to cover the 100 day you know just the 100 Day celebration um if we're gonna if we're gonna be doing a packet for every type of event that we're doing and sponsors and doing you know we're going to have to have a subcommittee for that there's no way that myself sure or can handle multiple levels of sponsorships for multiple different of events um if we're going to spread that out as much as we are we're going to have to we would have to consider a subcommittee to handle the sponsorships and the and the amount of events that we're going to have if we're going to do if we're going to do that route I'm not saying it's not possible what I'm saying is that you know I I can't I won't be able to do that on my own right I'm not sure if we would have sponsorships for events I mean that's a good idea you have one sponsor um but also like for say for the business expo each Booth or 10 by 10 space they're going to have to pay something to be there so then that would be part of um fundraising I would assume so every event that they have to get a space so that they can sell their products or anything like that or their services then they would pay that spot and then that would go into funding well I wonder if um sure I don't know what you think about this but um what if built into like say our presenting sponsor one of the benefits would be that you could pick a event that you like to choose one of the events where you're the primary sponsor or something I don't know if that's we could um you know and yeah this what you might have some ideas on how I agree that's a whole lot the whole undertaking with all these events is a whole lot so I think we're going to end up with subcommittees anyway for the events and maybe if we give the latitude especially I suggest we have a committee to go out and talk to people about sponsorships again it's good engagement to get the city involved and excited about this but as we develop well I would like to you know maybe donate this for the fishing tour fishing tournament we start hearing those ideas and then being able to subdivide that into the different events and then maybe bring it back to this uh committee for approval or not um and maybe break it apart that way because each each of these events is going to have its own unique feel so I think with making this a main line that they're included across the whole thing and then maybe little sub things that they can get involved with but there's it it becomes a monster but we don't if somebody wants to donate all the bait for the fishing tournament we're going to say no right you know well and she's correct you know I mean um one of our restaurants can say you know we want to sponsor x amount of food for you know the fishing tournament or for a car show or for something else but I think as we get you know like I said we're still in the preliminary stages of of hammering out like what those events are going to be we don't even know that yet no you don't need another packet we need to yeah you know I I think as is is is it once we have those dates and those events ready and we start putting out flyers and stuff like that we could include you know you know you know ask for particular sponsorship opportunities at the bottom of that flyer so then they can they can reach out to whoever's organizing that particular event and then say yes you know we can have a a stand here for you or an extra this for you if you're gonna be willing to donate something to to put off that event um that way it doesn't we don't get too inundated with focusing on you know sponsoring and and focus more on on the events themselves well I wonder if um if we maybe incorporate into these these levels any an event sponsor that uh that they don't put it just make it more generic add on to where they can sponsor and be these things but they're also interested in sponsoring an event or more events right so this let us know that hey we can reach out to this entity and see if they want to help sponsor the 5K or whatever just leave it spons event sponsorships available because whatever we put out there they're going to go well what if and we want that latitude of going what if yeah for for example let's say the V The Vape Shop they want to they want to sponsor whatever well if they know there's a there's a a fishing tournament they might really would like to be a part of that specific event as just general sponsor and G them the opportunity to yeah it's more their Market Target specific you know and you may end up with somebody that wants to do you know sack lunches for the fishing tournament you know right I'm going down raise your [Music] hand away Dave 5 439 blueo drive you got to do that right um two questions and you don't have to answer them I think you're putting the cart before the horse maybe you get the plan for the all the events and that's what sells this particular step right somebody wants to sponsor that and then two we have the BTR file that should have email emails and phone numbers for all the businesses that are legally registered in the city maybe not all of them but that's a good starting point and why limit it to just the city we can move Beyond these borders the point is is we're trying to draw people in and I think if if we have an agenda with an event list and a calendar and says hey we got so many days to this particular day now I don't even know what day it is but let's just do a countdown and say you know every week you know it's 99 days till the the big event and the events probably going to be all that week or that weekend days what's that 100 days 100 days okay 100 days perfect start February what was it date February 7 all right but if if you're identifying all the things that everybody's and that's where the planning committee comes in we got to you know lock down all the stuff we got Runway right now as this thing approaches things are going to get crazy and if we you know all this stuff needs to be sold this year you know I mean come up with that that that's this next quarter um you know to try to get the um the events established and lock down and then you can go to people and say hey we're doing all these events your name's going to show up in here it's a potential uh lead to your business so how do you get visibility you know join us with this effort thank you thanks um good point on the BTR list obiously we want to make sure that we not just limit oursel to what's inside the city that's not a problem I mean the BTR list is going to be City businesses but maybe we can reach out to the Chamber of Commerce as far as definitely be Newport also the Newport Chamber of Commerce when we get this going um I like that idea as well is that what we can add to this particular package packet is the actual list of events so when we lock that and like I said this packet don't have to go out now I mean this was this was the preliminary that we put together uh the city manager and I just to get the ball rolling um and just to get your ideas and input this wasn't going out you know until it was approved anyway but what we can add is the actual list of events and that will actually be a an incentive for businesses to say oh wow I have the opportunity to be listed on on on all these things that are are going to go on so I I think that once we have have that list and dates together we can plug it into here and then put the packet out [Music] so so we need to action this yet right I'm just open to any changes thoughts ideas anything like that that we can you know we can do with this um obviously like I just said with the you know list of events um this flyer was a mockup for you know for the actual May 18th event at the Waterfront Park um you know you know like I said this was a mockup idea uh we took a little bit of the boom of the bou changed a little bit for the Centennial Celebration I we put our logo once it gets approved right right now I'm just using the city seal but once a logo is is approved that would go in the middle um the sponsorship levels are we um I just was you know you gave me the input about adding one more at the bottom you know free all a free for all between you know between 100 and and and $900 $900 we I'll add that um are we okay with the with the other amounts that are that are in here um we have any yeah I they were good okay um so I'll add that uh the uh the legal verbage is basically the same as as our Boom the buy sponsorship packet um but like I said right now I was just trying to we were trying to motivate the board to you know to just move forward with this and right now just get any ideas that we can add to this and then you know prepare this packet so we can get out I mean like you know like um like he said that there's not much time you know we have to get this out you within the next quarter so and I know obviously Newport Richie is gearing up for their Centennial in October so there's a lot of obiously they're actively meeting and do some stuff so um I sure they've got sponsors and stuff for that so I'm not sure what time frame we want to start pushing this but if we could maybe wrap this up let's see we should have the logo solidified on the thir based on our previous conversation September so maybe by our we can review some some changes to this by that meeting with those things we added um we'll talk some more about the events here business to see if we can maybe get that list going and that we can put that list out there at the same time as a logo so they can vote a logo they can actually put some additional events uh maybe on that meeting on the third we can um start to look through those those events and start to whittle those down and then solidify that and so potentially we could have the packet going out mid September that sound like a yes good time frame that's a good goal yeah Cheryl that sound good to you okay okay um love the names on the the levels that was very creative um I see anything else on there that of course all the legal jargon oh there was one thing that I I wanted to ask a question about it was on the the ability for the city to uh reject the sponsorship let's see where's that at um and basically would it says something about giving back anything that they gave to us but the fees um where was that at you guys catch that I should have highlighted I don't see anything cancellation termination so it says City Reserves right to terminate sponsorship for any and or no reason at any time the city manager ENT his design as authority to terminate sponsorship notice of sponsorship termination must be provided to the sponsor in writing at the address provided by the sponsor on this agreement unless sponsor has provided the city with a change of address the city May terminate this agreement at any time for any reason upon such termination City shall return to the sponsor any materials donated by the sponsor for the event but any and all sponsorship fees paid are non-refundable and so as I look at that from a from a sponsor perspective again I don't know what to why we would turn them away I mean there's things in here but if we were to cancel them why would we not as well give back the the sponsorship fee because it's like we're going to keep the fee but you're not giving the uh the benefits of being a sponsor it's the policy though is it it well it's the policy that we you know we did for Bo to buy you that the same um yeah like I said none of the legal legal information was changed but I think you would have to look into this you know as far as like when you think of cancellation and termination um if if you're if you're 90% into the event and then something happened with that particular business or business owner to shed a negative light and you needed to you know say basically you spent the money you know but you're 90% in you know I mean that's you you can't refund that money because you've already started this event but in the event that that that particular sponsor has done something where you can't include their name because of what may have happened right you know whatever it may be ense I think that's what kind of covers you because you know like I said you're you're spending all this time money preparation you've you've paid for everything you paid for banners and and now if you've already paid for banners you're going to have to go and get new banners because you now you have to remove that name um because uh you know because whatever that whatever that negative light may be or whatever the C you know circumstance was um that you had to take you know you had to refund that money or refund you know remove them from being part of that event that's what I think that covers you for so that I mean that's my opinion but like I said I can I can talk we could talk to Legal about that just to make sure well I would I would uh maybe if it was possible to rephrase that because obviously those things make sense 9% and whatever then obviously that would be something that we would we couldn't do but um but this opens up way past that we could take we could literally take their money and say we don't want to respons but we're going to keep your money and we don't want to we don't want to discourage a sponsorship thinking that that they they may get shyed so if we put in there that is we'll make every effort to uh provide some kind of credit depending on how how the money been dispersed or whatever yeah I don't know maybe we don't need to worry about it I just when I read it I thought well that's well the the issue is that that I think is the language and the council adoped policy so to change that you'd have to change that coming from the policy yeah okay I believe that was taken right from the policy wasn't it [Music] yes and maybe it's not a big deal like I said this this is just basically a catch all if we ever had to do something but obviously there is it's a it's a [Music] contract could make somebody take pause I saw um the banners and just to know the two sponsors that we had for B on a bay you had no issues with you know with any of the terms whatsoever yeah okay comments onement we talked about those you J got put that together and we'll we'll look at uh discussing that again on the third okay get that started okay that's all the agenda items we had so moving on to Old business and before I do that there's no other public comment on that item right that's kind of let you guys in there one comment on um that language actually presented correctly it'll make the sponsors that are putting their money in a little bit more secure that they're not going to be with somebody that may put a negative light on it so it's a matter of presentation of this is here to make sure that everybody that represents the city is doing what they need to do thanks everybody business so we um we have some Advance out so that we went together last meeting and put on there um I don't have the list but I I want to say these were the ones I was thinking of did I mention a cornhole tournament yes okay golf scramble I think is the one I left off we didn't that yeah I thought golf scramble would be a what did you leave golf scram golf scramble golf scramble you know what that is so a golf scramble is um each hole normally has a sponsor and you know one of the one par three is Ocean Honda could sponsor whole three par three whole three and it's uh they give away a car if you get a hole in one there's that kind of stuff and and they do all it's really a really fun thing especially if you play golf but um everybody pays a fee and your team of four you play the best ball so everybody hits and then whoever has the best ball you choose that and then next person then everybody shoots from that same spot and at the end there's prizes and whatnot we don't have a golf of course in the city but we do got several surrounding ones that might be willing to let us use there they make money at that as well so I think we mentioned bowling yeah tourn that right the other thing that had came up I my conversation with chopper duport Richie we we'd like to try to have an event both for his Centennial and our Centennial um and uh we we'd come up with uh a tug of war across the river um where we would have mayor and counsel and and maybe some other F we have to make sure weights and all that kind of equalized for our people but Port Richie on one side Port Richie other and maybe find a spot the narrowest part of the river where we do the tug of war and see who wins I thought that was kind of a cool idea yeah good city managers would definitely take part in that correct absolutely many people but I thought that a great idea um you know another other events that we could coordinate on the cornhole tournament have to be up front well by all means May will be up front um the uh um some of the like the cornhole tournament for example I can't if I brought this up last time but uh we could we could maybe start all that in one city and have the finals in the other city so anywhere we can collaborate with them on at least one event like I said maybe the tug of war is a great idea um be fun but um that was a few others I wanted to add to the list to talk about um oh I had also a few others I was just thinking um I don't know if I mentioned it last time I put Port Richie Got Talent yeah talent show I love that um the other one was because Easter is in March March 31st I think or I don't know I don't remember the date but I did like a little Easter I kind like a children event maybe um I don't know if I mentioned this last time meet your government which would have like Court Richie the Committees maybe Community Resources volunteer places things like that so that people know where to go for resources like maybe a leadership dinner or something or something that everybody can get together and anybody can come and and meet the government yeah um and then the other one was I went Tarpon actually this weekend my husband and I and unbeknown to us we saw a hippie Fest and it looked fun it was different and it was like just hippy and they had music and it was the people in tied eyes and it was different so I I thought maybe like doing the what is it the years that would be one um and another one too which I need wri here but I know you guys had mentioned a pub crawl um we have St Patrick's Day also in March 17th Maybe the weekend before do something like that that we can incorporate maybe we can incorporate also new court Richie on that be two cities just idea yeah they they actually have a um event fairly regularly I've been to two of them where they they have each one of the shops down there participate and they food item or in a different wine or whatever like wine scroll that's that so unfortunately we've got several things closed down our Waterfront so we don't you know that's dwindling on but yeah something like if we can coordinate with them as well as us to have some stops um we do have obiously a couple places across Grand Waterfront so we could possibly do something there but yeah those are great ideas crawl wine stroll whatever you want and I also have like a fundraising idea um a community yard sale I don't know if I mentioned that last time but it would be like a instead of like what they were trying to do the garage sale um in May of last year or this year I'm sorry um instead of doing that then we would have like let's say like the Waterfront and everybody can bring their stuff they get a 10 by 10 they pay a fee oh kind like a centennial flea market of res a flea market residents can bring their stuff and then we just did the flea F this past weekend oh really people love it love it Mike and I yell for future if you're going to speak yeah we just did the flea this past weekend people love that and it really had a lot of community come out that would be nice yeah that's that's a good idea you can incorporate farmers market in that farmers market to which I think we have don't we we're gonna have monthly events starting on every uh first Sunday of the month in October so that would be nice Dave Mueller 5439 Blue Point Drive don't know if you mentioned about the rocks oh no let me let me go ahead I'll let you anyway to comment on Carolyn's idea on Easter eggs I was thinking as a community Builder we could have each Street do painted rocks with some kind of um symbol or whatever you want to do and it you know it doesn't have to be it's not artistic here it's something to kind of get Comm be a community Builder right so if every street got together and did these rocks paint them however they want you know red white and blue stars and stri whatever you know um and then have the committee uh collect them all and then hide them like you said we could hide them around all of our focal points for the city right we have olner we got Brasher we got um um Nicks Park we got Waterfront Park uh we have these things going on in the city that could you know help pull attention to them and this might be a way to do that and everybody does this and whoever does the The Rock they sign their name on it you know and or street name or or whatever to do but then as a result we have a way to hey you know if if you find a rock and it's a you know number and street or something go to the website and log it in and you know say what whatever so it could be you know a Facebook page something like that so it's an idea um that might stir some interest yeah than you could turn it into a geoc right yeah you know talking about the streets and stuff down down clear water I think they had some kind of thing where they actually had painted dolphins for the different sponsors or whatever that they put around town or whatever we actually had in Louisville as part of the Derby Festival there was such a full siiz horse that they would paint up based on the business or whatever and that the business would have that out um as kind of art if you would and then they auctioned them off afterwards so you know obviously our have the Pelican I know that we C talks about Pelicans around or whatever if if we um maybe it's a enhanced version of The Rock thing if we actually do the the Pelican or different streets or whatever paying a Deb or even businesses those are out then they could be auctioned off at some point so people could have that as a yard AR but it kind of themed around the the Centennial and put your business stuff on there it's it's a thingman did fish fish I know C had talked about pelicans and maybe this would be the the time to kind of spearhead that comment sure it's it's loose Dave Mueller 5439 bluepoint Drive um to come in on your Pelican um Pensacola has their mascot as a pelican and all through the streets they have probably 6 foot Pelicans painted different ways it's a Navy theme up there uh I mean that's one of them but you know I got one by the lighthous and in oan New York where my wife's from they're mascots of squirrels so all around around the town they got these different painted squirrels I brought this issue up to the the CAC at one time um but it would be something that we could possibly get our businesses to you know do have a painted Pelican you know try to find you know where you can get a fiberglass cast they can paint it you know in line with their business um you know if it's catches or you know they can design it like that or their colors or or things like that so that that might be something that worth looking into I have not been able to find a fiberglass Pelican though I like that idea actually and I was thinking now that you're talking um you know nor sometimes like I know P does it Tampa does it don't know other cities that they normally like the and denan I think well Denita does like the light pools um each like a business or something sponsors a Christmas tree and they decorate it so maybe they can decorate a pelican can have it on in in parks and things like that and then during the holiday season that's good for fundraising and it's cute like you could have a pelican with a Christmas hat on or something I don't know an idea yeah and the Pelican could have a a u a 100y year Medallion incorporated into it so that they all it's just different and it's like getting excited for those hundred years you can do it during the holiday season get people great because if you think about it after the holidays then we're going into the Centennial Celebration February anybody else have ideas that they my question is is that um we've got it's roughly about 14 weeks so do we want to aim at one event each week until we get you know from February 7th to May 18th is out what we want to do is 14 weekends it's about 14 yeah is that including the actual main weekend um the 7th is February 7th is on a Friday and then that May 18th is G that's Sunday so think would be good except for that final week we should have more the week of I think we should try to have something almost daily not of some sort not any magnitude but small things I think what we have now for the final week we have the Cent centennial celebration which is May team we have I I needed the mayor's ball I didn't know what we're going to name B mayor's ball the the dance um May 17th we were thinking of community brunch for Mother's Day uh that's May 11th and then the kickoff parade May 10th and we're seeing the fishing tournament the same day I think isn't it yeah so this is where um I spoke with Cheryl she put uh put some like a schedule type thing in Ai and it kind of spit some stuff out um I don't know if that is it something you can share yeah it came out so I just put it in G GPT chat off of an original list that I had that you guys mimicked and it came up with kind of a guideline of how we should go up to that so it's and I'll Supply you guys with emails or get it if you want if you send an email with that way but um February 7th through the 16th they suggested doing a t basically a kickoff ceremony kicking down the 100 days so literally doing a countdown um and maybe kicking that off with a preparation of the Time Capsule to get everybody's ideas on you know what to put in the time capsule that was digging up the time capsules yeah we kick off maybe the very first event would be unveiling or do that on the back end at the end it's just the preparation for it it's not the actual diing up tment of it yeah because we probably want to pull it up and put a new one in around the same right that final weekend when we actually when you thank you right so I mean we can do one of two things and you know for the for the beginning we pull the original we pull the one that's there oh and then and then after the 100 days we bury the new one oh was a good idea sounds good I like it yeah so it starts off with that so everybody can again more input as to what we should put in the time capsule um and then it suggested maybe a city beautification week that week um pulling in volunteers and and things of that nature um it suggested that at day 90 we start with the historical walking tours um maybe do a photography contest of old photos that people may have things of that nature to build up the museum thing that we were talking about doing um then maybe uh day 80 it talks about a cultural Affair but there we can do cultural and business at that point which would be around March 1st um then it goes into March 5th being the sports so maybe talking about the tug of war maybe we can make that a field day so the field day is Progressive with you know all sorts of things going on um put the TU tug of- war with the um other games that you want to have put in kind of as a a a celebration in between both of them um then at the Day 70 Mark they talk about the school pro programs beginning anything that we're going to do within the schools um and then um community service day that would be again a great place to us meet your government and uh where you can volunteer at the 60-day Mark um they suggest that we have the historical exhibit open so we're building right up to that I really liked how it put together this timeline um then day 50 Begins the registration for the fund run the 5K all that kind of things um and then maybe a um day of recognition for all the volunteers that have already put the time in for those things day 40 um Barbecue cook off that's April 8th through the 17th Barbecue cook off um do we have competition with everybody what do we do we men that one do we have a chili cook off barbecue C off yeah we we did Taste of Port Richie would just oh and all the restaurants though yeah but we can morph that with adding it into the the um Sip and stroll or the pup crawl and make that kind of incorporating a broader event yeah The Taste of P Richie and then as a sub portion of that you could have craft beer you could have chili you could have barbec um well the other one that you were talking about the um tug incorporating with other sport events we had talked about a rata with yes we could have like a little race or something and then have the TU like as a cap on theend yeah make it fi day yeah all that um all these little events right couple bigger uh it talks about um day 30 Mark with a close on the photography contest and maybe doing a historical speakers lecture something along that line to bring the history into it day 20 is the parade planning and rehearsals um maybe coming into some sort of light share show or projection map mapping display I don't know where it's getting that basically st's past present and future um then day 10 going into the fun run the announcement of the photography contest the Centennial parade the family fund day um reenactments award ceremonies closing ceremonies fireworks display it's a nice breakdown of every 10 days and then we can just plug out in what we actually want to do it yeah cool good are you planning on doing something every single day are you trying to do a couple big events each month like a a a sponsored event one that people pay for because I know you guys talked about ones like that where people could pay admission like the dance or a dinner or you guys trying to really package I think that the idea is we start the 100 day countdown and we just do maybe something every weekend and then as we get to the last week then we would have some compacted events so it would be spread out over that time frame just just be mindful of the holiday weekends with Mother's Day I don't know how that would just holidays I know a lot of people go away mothers tend to not want to do a lot on that day but just a suggestion with I like to see if we can incorporate a car show car show would be good yeah yeah maybe maybe Walmart U with the space that they have be able to help that um and you know they have they have like an impromptu and it Dunkin Donuts a lot they still do that or not but they seem like every once a while they have a car show there and especially anyone who can bring a vehicle from 1925 would would get a special you know take of special prize we can do a 2550 and then you know whoever has a hundred year old vehicle um we can do like prize amounts for that so I think that would be really something and something um easy to put together you could easily separate them by like do them from the 1920s 1930s 40s and that way we could walk through the hundred years oh that' be nice instead of just random right you know I I don't know they used to have they used to have a circular SL thing that came at the mall um I if they still do that or not but we'd actually went to one or whatever I don't know because obviously I think back in that day circus typ stuff was fairly popular and we do have those things I don't know if they'd be willing to come here and do something we could have a inte something like that people would we get a portion of the um fees that come in they do the show it's an event we don't have to do a whole lot because they pretty much put it on we just got to provide the space for it but it ties that in and I was kind of thinking about um having a dunk tank uh for all the council and myself there city manager operation man city clerk your meet the government night we could actually end with with a dunk tank with different folks rotating in and out every 15 30 minutes people like that I'm com can I suggest that each one of you send me a list of your ideas I think you've been C all right I know okay so I have them yeah that was the next thing I was going to say so I think you can't have the master list you could keep it together if you could get that to Ashley and I think if we could take her list that she's gathered from all of us and incorporate it in the timeline that she's talking about and you know U kind of like mesh both of them together where you know some of the items that we may not need to do in that timeline and incorporate some of that some of the events into that well also the matching events where we could put them together yes some are rep together that'll give us a great outline to move forward and start promoting that okay so we have 15 weekends if we get the list together 15 includes the final weekend right 15 weekends so we need to Mark what is holiday weekends cuz Ashley's absolutely on point um um and still celebrate those weekends because it's part of life in Port Richie um but if we can get the events in there it's real easy to use AI to organize and and let them come up with a time like we augment it from there and then put it back in there again and then ask it to give us a timeline as to what we need to do I mean the exact plan look at it for reasonability and then we know exactly what where we need to be through this whole thing yeah I I think um next steps obviously get that list get it on the website allow people stuff we come back on the third the third go through that and a submission from the public use the timeline um to kind of as we look through those and maybe cut a couple of them or maybe we I think we got plenty of stuff that we can fill that time frame then we probably cut some of the ones and just kind of pick which ones we think and then we kind of put them into that time timeline and see how that shakes out kind of how say preliminary plan and um keep the tides in mind for any Water Events because the next itates with that as we have that timeline then we've really got to figure out like who's do we have a committee for each one of these events to help put that on or or what we got to figure out how to how to move forward actually getting those things implemented and done um so I think next steps let kind of solidify the events um new Richie that had an event planning committee that the subcommittee that kind of working on this umun GNA try to make one of those but haven't had a chance yet but um I think that's kind of where we're put that together and then we can hopefully the problem with we're small City and so the staff you know we're still have four seats open on our our board to think that we're gonna have subcommittees is is a maybe a pipe dream I got lots of time if I need to make phone calls whatever um so I think once we kind of vet that list and kind of see what we're dealing with then maybe we can see what kind of committees we would need to try to put together try to make this manable the other important part is the web page and making sure because looking at over the other cities that we looked at that she sent us links to um some of them had a lot of information but there was nothing to look at others were great to look at and there was no information um so you know just making sure that it's at least good to look at um and it also it's interactive like you can take it to a calendar once we get the on there the um also um that it's updated regularly some of them look like they put it out there and never touched it again um and then also the pictures I think we should start asking for them now we can incorporate them into the web page just page on I know the historical Committee just met I don't know a chance to THS were you in that meeting I was in the initial but moving forward they are so you in the SL name did they they they discussed a lot of um reaching out to some of the community that has been here for a long time to see if they have any historical photos lineage of certain buildings um Johnny Cash house the mount different historical aspects I know that Cherokee is very resourceful when it comes history she's got a lot of resources um I don't have anything from her she was going to send me some stuff but um they planned on talking more about that Lori had a lot of people that she was interested I suspect we lean heavily on those guys get us the stuff we need the historical portion what time is your meeting 4 4 okay when's the next one 29 next Thursday okay they're going they're supposed to meet the last Thursday of every month with the holidays coming up I think it's the Thursday before like with Thanksgiving and and so in the web stage as we talk about putting the events out there the logo if you is that going to be you that's going to be putting that page together I guess based on kind of what the others have done yes well we already have I we we already have a section on the website um like I said we're still in transition when's the new website for October right I'm hoping to have it done before that um we just had to switch project managers I just reached out to the new one today the other one went on maternity leave unfortunately but she'll you know but I have a new project manager she she just reached out to me I'm hoping to have it live within the next two three weeks so hopefully before um before October 1st so um October 1 as the announcements done I thought I saw o October 1st on something for they the new announcements replacing nixel yeah that's I think it's till October we have the nixel is still October till October now we're hoping to have the new website on but on our current site I do have a section already for the for the um Centennial but obviously the more information I start Gathering you know we start on once we choose the logo once we pick the sponsorship packet once we have the list of events all that will start being you know start being built on that site so other than like I said getting up right away we're going to also get the the logo stuff out for the citizens weigh in on that but and then the events as well then I would say once we get all the other stuff taken care of that next meeting on the third probably Target it having that Centennial page up and run probably mid September earlier depend on WE cify the logo and all that you really start it's already there it's just a point of adding to it continuing to update it you know once I start having you know more to put on you know it's there now there's a place to select the you know Centennial information but until I start having more links and more information and you know events and you know reach out to this one reach out you know to there so but that'll all start getting built as soon as I have that information on the um and obviously once you on the logo stuff you push that out social media and maybe send an ex out to uh let people know to go out and vote for that I don't know how many people keep an eye on that site Facebook or whatever but um I'm probably gonna I'm probably GNA incorporate something like Survey Monkey or something for everyone to go to I think that's a probably more popular way of getting input yeah okay we can I'm gonna look into that push up do an ex or whatever hopefully get Mas yeah they click right on it and then put it right there I put that link directly to the survey just like we did the other yeah C Riv Landing survey September 3rd we're going to solidify the events sponsorship packet and maybe a timeline we try talk about right yeah timeline when yeah so P hopefully we'll have time to to uh put in put them in at least a draft timeline okay off of maybe account as far as even if we just have a list of events don't have dates finalized the sponsorship package yeah definitely the list of events like said if we have time maybe we kind of draft a timeline based on holidays and what's except to work off yeah what I'm going to do is the list of events do a draft on the timeline and then I'm going to go one step further and do a list of tasks resources and everything else that we say so we need to get down to the rubber heading the road so that we know whether we can actually put it together and what we need to put out there to the community to to make it happen so that'll all be in draft form but it'll be there so that we can see the reality of it any other full business I have a question that is that something that you guys want her to submit to me before the meeting so I can include it in the agenda yeah that'd be good okay know there's Logistics right now so I just want to make sure we're going to put that out she's going to have that for you guys the Public's able to see it as well yeah so you'll get your list to Ashley if you could get that out on the web and then you have that rough list use that for your thing we'll talk about that after we said on the web until we it first yeah I was going to say we don't want to email everybody first I would think and then we'll just say yes or no well what I was thinking was the we put whatever she has she should have it all like I said but if they put it out there on the web I want the people in the city to I'd like to see this event or whatever we can do the same we can interact with that as well that's that's true so get it out there as soon as possible whatever you have ideas other we only got till the third we've got two weeks so I want to give much time for people to submit their ideas and then when we come back on a third we'll have you had talk about what there we have that just right and then we'll get a master list for that meeting okay and then we can start to vent that so we're just putting it out there here our ideas yeah here's what we talked about so far yes if you see something you want to add as a resident send it in us as well we can make sure that we've got everything out there um and then um we should be able get a good Master list to work off of convers yes yes start to generate some excitement too I do want to make you aware that on the thir you guys have a town hall meeting at 6 so oh that's right that meeting you guys start at 4 we have a Town Hall at 6 September is getting a little crunched but on Monday we should be able to we should be able to get through that you know maybe the timeline suffers so you guys are M I appreciate that yeah so we've been we've been here for an hour and a half so I think we
