up yes have just say your name and your address and then we have a little timer that's going to go on you have 3 minutes to okay say whatever thank you Council for listening to my remark remarks tonight can you all hear me yes um my name is Joanne Marshall uh I've lived here for 30 years I currently live at uh 23 Broad Ripple Drive I would like the council to reconsider opening a can cannabis dispensary in Princeton I would like the council to open discuss discussion on the current ordinance that prohibits sale of cannabis in Princeton I believe the ordinance was passed based on Mis misinformation from a small group of people and not representative of the 75 75% of P princetonian who voted on the ballot approving legality and cannabis sales in New Jersey I invite the council to evaluate the success of other towns who have dispensaries for two years including the impact on their comp community and total monies made on legal cannabis sales I believe the Princeton Board of Health was overly involved this is not a health issue it's a zoning issue just like Zoning for liquor stores which we have at mcaffrey and throughout town uh cigar stores which we actually have one opposite the library and I use medical cannabis as do others in Princeton I have chronic pain and I have to travel 20 minutes to Cranbury and 20 minutes back to purchase my medical Mar medical cannabis I wanted to just add further some information that I pulled off uh the government page for the um from the the government page for cannabis recreational Cannabis cells in New Jersey and it's a recent report that said um out of the 130 licensed dispensary cannabis sales for the first quarter of 2024 they took a total of more than $200 a million from sales of cannabis that's a 38% increase over last years I'm sure our local community would like to have some monies from Cannabis sales reduce their tax bills that are coming out just recently uh that's all I had to say um I hope you can consider this and thank you for your time thank you very much appreciate you being here anyone else in the room have a comment for something not on the agenda all right um mayor I'm sorry yeah are are we able to comment on public comment we usually don't but that's up to you then then I'll defer I'm sorry all right yeah um okay and I don't I only see one person on Zoom I don't see a hand up so we'll close the I can leave you my number on here and then if you want to contact me afterwards I would indeed appreciate that okay thank you all right so we'll close that part of the meeting next up is a public hearing on ordinance 2024-25 um oh okay hang on a second actually we're not not going to have the the public hearing on this the public hearing is adjourned till July 8th 2024 it was going to be a public hearing on the ordinance um concerning the green development checklist and information statement but we had a timing problem with uh the planning board being able to review that and being able to notice that they were going to review it so they weren't able to review it in time so that review will happen um at a later date and so the public hearing is adjourned to July 8th 2024 four so there you go uh next up is an ordinance introduction ordinance 2024 D28 an ordinance of the municipality of Princeton regarding flood plane management and amending chapter 14a of the code of the burrow of Princeton New Jersey 1974 public hearing will be June 24th 2024 uh is there a motion to on that thank you David Mia has the second uh it's a roll call vote Miss Peron lambrose yes Mr how we do our own uh budget resolutions so um let me read it and then I'll tell you what's happening 24174 resolution of the mayor and Council of Princeton 1 introduced Ing and approving we're not actually approving it tonight we're approving that we are going to notice it and make it public that we will have a public hearing introducing and approving the 2024 2025 budget of the Princeton special improvement district uh two directing the municipal clerk to publicly advertise the budget and schedule a public hearing and three directing the tax assessor to prepare an assessment role of properties within the district based upon the budget public hearing scheduled for July jly 8 2024 so we're going to handle this the same as we would an ordinance introduction which means we simply
