school year this will be dap's fourth year as president and she has done an amazing job moving the board and the district forward these past few years a few things to highlight her suggestion of several interim candidates for the district that have kept us moving forward while we continue to interview for full-time staff her continued focus on ensuring that every board member has the same information so we can all make informed decisions her effort to keep our monthly meeting short maybe not so short and her depth of knowledge and Leadership through several successful Union neg Union negotiations the up coming referendum and the hiring of a new superintendent dap's respect for our staff makes her the Right leader to help transition the Princeton public schools to a new superintendent in June whenever daphna does whatever daphna does she always keeps students front and center DNA is a tiess advocate for students and her intensity about keeping focus on students is matched only by her sense of humor thank you excellent so we'll officially now take a motion in a second uh do I have a motion Beth Baron and Mara franceski uh D Kendall yes Beth Baron yes Adam people on a board of education making decisions for children and um just as I said that Brian and Betsy and Rob were those type of board members so are Ari Chris and Katherine and we welcome you to the board um Believe It or Not we've all spent a enough a lot of time together um during the superintendent search and we're thrilled to welcome you to the board um you know as Debbie said like we want to focus on children that's why we're all here the children have to be the center of the orbit and um I couldn't be more grateful to work with all of you um we really are a team and um even if we get off uh the track we someone will always bring it back even if I get off the track someone will always bring it back to kids and that's the most important thing um what we do um matters and um you know as as we say every time and I just want to laugh that we're unpaid volunteers like that's a double what do you call it uh wh me um it's I I I truly believe there's there's no um more important service that someone can do for their community and I'm so glad to do it with all of you and um we've been through a lot um many of us over the last few year past few years this is going to be a great year and we are going to have a lot of fun and I'm so excited to lead um one more year um and I just want to thank Kathy um for her leaders ship um she makes being the board president very easy and and balanced consideration of differing viewpoints over her years with us and her service as as committee chair and on many different committees she has been careful and strategic in her approach to our days are not so enjoyable so hopefully that will continue and like daphna I'm excited to help daphna uh and support her in ways to help lead the district to help our admin team as we move forward and welcome a new superintendent and um you know I've been involved in the prin and public schools for over 20 years so this is like a very exciting day for me but thank you um and I just want to add um so we had superintendent searches and um you know the meetings went on for a long time and um I was gonna say this tomorrow night but I don't embarrass you I think we have less viewers tonight but Susan had a kidney stone and um I actually thought she was going to kill over at one of the meetings um well one meeting in particular and I was like are you okay and she just like was in so much pain and so if I had a sticker to give out I would give it to you for um just the the most hardworking um board member um you know you're just amazing seriously it was amazing selfless that's good but hardworking too she's always there but she was in a lot of Agony so we apologize for that well I'd rather you know having your support there considered Home Alone being Agony or we could be doing some to move on to organization of the board then no not today yeah um moving on organization of the board um the newspapers that we're going to advertise in and Mr bolon they changed the law right so we can now um just advertise away yeah it's not permanent yet but yes for the time being the uh Trenton Times is uh hard copy is going away like February 4th oh right Star Ledger right Star Ledger too yeah which is basically I mean we can't rely on a weekly um which poses issues already with yeah so yeah the law is changing so we'll adapt we may have another resolution as we go through the year
