##VIDEO ID:Y5MiLheID4Y## perhaps doing a easier way for people with um handicaps to get into the building and out of the building um so I just wanted to throw it out there to everybody and any detailed questions can certainly go right over there too but um it just something that I think would be um good for this building and good for the district yeah it makes sense it makes sense with the contractor we still have him and we don't want to lose him I mean and I was told that some of our parts or systems that heating are so Antiquated that they don't even make parts from many more that when they break we have to Mr you can just pan over to the left there that we had to go to eBay to find a spare part at one point so um it seems to me that it's getting it's a good idea and maybe a good time to seize the moment my biggest question would be the cost is it going to raise tax taxes for the resident or is it fully going to be covered on their capital on their savings or that we have perfect question um it will not raise taxes 1 cent we have the money sitting in our capital reserve which as everybody knows can only be used for items in our long range facility plan we before our referendum in 20120 so in 2019 we had our district architect go through all four buildings in the district and I have a report here of all the deficiencies in this building so at the time because this building is Administration and would not have been eligible for any type of Debt Service Aid we put that on the side and said that we would save money so that we could do this um without raising taxpayers um taxes so to answer your question it will not raise taxpayers funds thank you you're welcome are there any other issues throughout the district that need to be taken care of with these funds or is this kind of a priority at this particular point in time because we have gutted the three buildings this is the last building with major work and why I say major work is that all kidding assigned that Behemoth piece of equipment over there we have six others in the building and they do upstairs um Heating and Cooling and it it is the truth that we have had to go to eBay to try to find parts and it's not efficient this entire building is electric so everybody knows how expensive it is to run items on electricity we are in need of masonary repairs in this building we are also in need of replacing the do in this building and the windows they haven't been touched we're not looking to change the footprint of this building we're just looking to upgrade it and if anybody would care to use the facilities across the hall and come out and say that we don't need a little [Laughter] upgrade um so I hope that answers your question we looked to get the educational spaces updated and renovated first and we waited and now the timing is such that to Mrs berkowitz's Point since our team is still intact we have our Architects we have our construction manager and um now is the time to complete this last project thank you any other comments so I think at this point we're looking to ask the board to move ahead and engage our Architects for this particular project because we would have to move quite swiftly and again the cost of the architect would be uh able to be capital reserve um money um is there somewhere where that we can let the public know what we have in our capital reserve it's reported every month on the treasur report and the board secretary's report perfect yep okay so um I have um resolution nb1 which everybody now has in their hands um would somebody like to move the nb1 I'll move it second I'll second and any discussion questions about nb1 I would just like to add I I think it's uh sounds like the repairs that we're talking about are necessary bring us up to 88 compliancy and among among other things I do think it's it's wise to use to do this now uh time is money other than money is money and utilizing contractors and um hired Personnel that's currently working with the district would probably make it a uh less of an issue um where the relationships are already built amongst Administration and contractors I think it's a relatively wise decision to go forward with this at this time and just to add to that that Lan is the one who did the initial um review of all the buildings and they're again going to be here and they know they know our school system and on that note also being that we have the relationship with them which is great if we do if we don't follow through with this now I also feel if we lose we lose them they're going to end up getting more jobs on their agenda and who knows when we may be able to get them back on over to uh to do the work right it's good momentum um anything else um just to clarify for the public this resolution is just to contract with the architect so the first step in the process is not for the whole project or that's correct this is to have um engage the architect with preparing the detailed drawings so that we can go out to bid and also Define the scope of the project and then we would seek to go out to bid probably the end of January the beginning of February and at that point in time um we would see which contractor we end up getting great thank you I agree with what others said I think now is the time like to to do it especially since we have the money in the capital reserve okay anything else okay roll call V please certainly Mrs assour yes Mrs Austin yes Mrs burkowitz yes Mrs Pinelli yes Mrs Sande yes Mr White yes Mr rosini yes okay any other new business there is one item that um Mrs signori and I were discussing regarding the next committee meeting because the audit is starting so late the next finance committee meeting is scheduled for December 17th I don't think that we're going to have anything to speak about at that time there are a few options that the board can consider one is to change that to a buildings and grounds committee meeting and the other is to skip the committee meeting and shift the board meeting to 6 o' so those are your options for discussion if we made it a building grounds meeting would we have anything to discuss regarding this this resolution we just passed I mean it's less than a month away we probably won't have a lot that's why I'm saying at least putting your options out there for you so option two would be to get rid of the committee meeting all together and you could do an early meeting at 6:00 if that's something that you all would prefer or you could keep it at 7: I like option too we just figured with the holidays maybe that would be an option for you guys [Applause] it's whatever whatever works for the finance committee is fine with me option to I [Laughter] would and keeping it I mean I would think keeping it at 7 just because that's the way the time we usually have it but I'm not adverse to moving it to six either so we will cancel the finance committee meeting on the 17th for December okay thank you okay anything else no yes motion to adjourn well second I'm gonna I'm going to hold that in abeyance just for a second are we do we have to go into close session for any reason do we have a motion to adjourn motion to adjourn second please I'll second all right thank you does anybody object to adjourning no okay we're adjourned thank you
