um welcome everyone today is Wednesday April 10th this is the park and red meeting meeting started at 6:32 p.m. the meeting is being held due to co um myself I will introduce myself jeie Reed and go to my right David day Lori har cartella Rick har okay do we have any board members in the virtual room John John W John can you just introduce yourself ad thanks Rob and you can admit you don't have to B we will we usually don't you can be disrupted influence for sure hey hi John can you hear me and can John you're on VI okay okay so we have John Wally Other Board member in our virtual um room on Zoom eventually we'll get them okay uh moving on we will go to public comment do we have anyone for public comment there we are thanks John can you just introduce yourself for me uh this is John Wally thank you hi John W um uh is there any one public comment in the waiting room or in the zoom room a fury 91 Granville Road hello um hello everybody I actually a meeting to attend so this is an agenda item I noticed on your agenda about Wally Park um just my comment on it is uh the children's play area that's fenced in um if someone can be sent down there for maintenance I found a few things that are kind of hazardous that really should be looked at and I did leave a message with Dave Sutton eight months ago about this on his answer machine and never heard from him and seen that he didn't actually look at what I talked to him on the answer machine so I think it should be addressed loose screws on um The Climbing Wall you have a metal wire with a loop on the uh the twirling the the spinner thing that kids like to go on that um is kind of it comes out of the actual structure and can Loop a leg I uh fixed it myself like just Tred to tie it off at best I could but it's not a permanent solution that needs to be addressed and then there's also uh the wires on the uh pyramid climber there's exposed actual exposed wire and also one of the ropes came out of the knuckle and it's a grab point for the bridge um and this that part has been there for eight months now and it's you know the children it's a hazard it's I don't want to read in the paper that one of our kids get hurts because of these so I just figured I'd mention it here because it's parks and wck and everything I wanted you to know that there are things that should be looked at at the park okay thank you we'll make sure somebody takes a look at it tomorrow very much appreciate that I appreciate you coming to bring him to us no problem I hope you all have a good night thank you you too thank you you too okay so we'll have them look into that yes okay sounds good let them know I can let know okay thank you if it's not something that's repairable by ourselves is the do we have the company name of uh where we got the yeah it's system sorry for the chair Cindy Mac site specifics okay and they should be standing by the I would expect you to stand by the product if there's something that's not just normal okay thank you all right start yeah y um hold on sorry guys do we have moving on do we have any blows or minutes one any any comments that anyone has or suggestions or Corrections on it on the minutes yeah they look good to me Rick did you look at the minutes I did but I wasn't at that meeting okay John did you look at the minutes I did make a motion to accept them second thank you John Wally motion to accept the minutes Dave D delori second the motion um myself I approve Genie Reed David Dori approved John Wally approved okay unanimously approved the minutes for uh March 133 of 2024 [Music] or anything which is the top one again the line strier yes I cleed it out with some of the things Ed up yeah and I ordered extra we missing was pretty bad that's just for the line striper stuff right fig and this is the infield kmer all right hold okay so we're all done with that we can move on to W Park um first item on the agenda would be the spray park is there any updates you do I do so I'm not sure what's been shared with you but we received um a quote from Crash VI construction did the board see that yes that they signed that tonight oh oh perfect okay um we also have we U since you we last spoke we submitted the UIC permit which is the underground inject control permit related to sending the call Waste Water but sending the the spray park water to the subsurface drain system expect to have that back shortly um don't expect any turbulence we had a number of discussions with d with regard to that uh we also just as a Bel and suspenders approach have submitted what's called a request for determination of applicability to the Conservation Commission uh because there's the wet and resource areas over the slope we're well away from them but we just filed a request for determination just so they know uh and can make a negative determination of what we would expect so they know that we're working up at the top of the park but we're not in their area of jurisdiction so that's all been taken care of and I know I don't know if you have if you want to talk about the other stuff separately is that a separate agenda item the ball yeah it's G to be next that's everything on that I believe so okay thank you did you have a a rough start date John did you have a rough start date gets around to it okay just because price within our budget uh so this is it doesn't include engineering or compaction testing no engineering or am I say that right faction was included in the proposal so right now it's $177,000 and And1 177 thou $177,400 and it's erosion control sight prep drainage water electrical equipment gravel and concrete and landscaping and what how much was approved at the town meeting more than that did that that didn't include any installation of no equipment this is just the prep work it looks like included all the yeah so the equipment has already been purchased but this is the complete install which includes Plumbing that's all right so really I believe the only thing they left out is you know some you know compact compaction testing for the pad um which is shouldn't be a big it's kind of a minimal number yeah I wouldn't think it would be for that there's really no no engineering no no I mean not at this point everything's been provided um I think the only thing would be just kind of coordination with spray park supplier which we had one pretty positive meeting and he's available for questions they might have with with uh how to wire stuff and yeah that kind of thing so I think we're think we're okay okay okay for now yeah are we good John yeah I think so okay anything else on um the spray part so the construction date is still kind of up in the air yeah press view when they want to start they know they have to do it okay so maybe we can contact them and get a um timeline or get a start date I'll reach out now get the end of the meeting okay thanks you okay moving on we'll um go um ahead with the pickle ball um next line item so we have Randy White and Rob Lebec gonna talk as well when can you start pickle ball spray start spray part so after our after our last meeting uh and I was in contact with wam who I knew was putting in a project uh they said oh yeah you know we have someone here who's designed it done all that and as it turned out it was LE soes they sent me a shot of it so you know I've known Rob for a long time I knew he did a lot of work on the park so reached out to Rob and that's would kind of got into this and spoke to John as well uh and suggested he come to the next meeting so yeah great so I have a small set of a project that we did for the town of wilham recently um it's a six pickle ball court I full disclosure I am addicted to pickle ball myself as Randy is a lot of people are so I'm pretty familiar with you know the Westfield uh South Hadley um agang pickle ball courts um as well as you know of course down in Florida um so what we did is we designed this is pretty small so I apologize but um we Design This is at the memorial uh school over in wilham which is basically vacant there's some stuff going on there but the the school is no longer occupying the facility um this is out of the back they have um you know they have this area this lawn area back we're proposing six courts um when you play the pickle ball typically when it's open play um you'll have people that'll kind of wait on the sides to be available to play um you have some sort of paddle um what's the term just CU for when you put your on the table right yeah so um so what we have here is basically a perimeter fence around the six courts these are asphalt CTS with uh very specific pickle ball surfacing approved by USA pickle ball we have two small fairly small Pavilions I think they're 12 by 18 or something like that the surfacing you're looking at just an asphalt there's no the or anything no no no that's a yeah for pickle ball that's a no no yeah so this is It's like a tile basketball court you would do that it has dead spots on I played on it once down in Bradington and it can be slippery since that time they removed that Court out of the park so this is pretty standard um the the the specific lighting we're proposing here there a company called LSI that um you know it's they're they focus on pickle ball um something this or equal would you know would be fine but basically what they are is they're down lit LED lights they do a really great job of capturing the court but not have a lot of spillover for any of the you know surrounding neighborhoods obviously we have the big lights um on the soccer fields but these are going to be much lower so the polls are much lower um there's two uh polls for each side of the Court the ones in the interior are obviously double-sided um pretty straightforward we have a lane down the middle so that when you what happens is as you play so if you're on you know if you're on court one say and then you know this is two and three two finishes Court one moves over right and then everybody kind of you know leaves out at the end so in a perfect world people are leaving there's little gaps in the fences so there's um so we have you know 4 foot chain link uh black vinyl Co fence with um with the the guard at the top we have a little bit of landscaping but generally speaking it's the courts themselves it's it's the lighting um and the the fencing so those are the those are the big ticket items uh in a place like Wally Park you would you would grade this at0 83% is the is the percentage the standard percentage uh you have beautiful Sandy soils I think they were talking about doing this back at the um at the very far restroom the one thing that I think during our discussion we all felt strongly at least Randy and I did um the courts should all be together I don't think you should split I don't as a player and as I don't know how you maybe I'm speaking out of school but no I and I express my opinion up front to Cindy when she did that as did other pickle ball people that we would want to see six courts all in one place I yeah that's something I think we should probably look into because I know we had two different applications go through the town meeting so I don't know if that's something we can just say yeah we'll put all six there I think that's something we have to look into at this point we I don't think we can do that without going through some things because one is is the applications were separ yeah they were separate they were CP um we also had a lot of support from the seniors and the whole you know seniors in the town that wanted courts here and then the town voted so to come back and then to be like oh we're moving all six to one place there's we're there's no way so we can either figure out a way to add two more I think to Wally Park but I don't think we can take away the two that we're going to be here because we were trying to eliminate a few things one was not not having seniors fighting with other people or other you know folks in town for spots so if the senior center gets first dibs on that area here then other people can play but that was kind of their thing and then then the other courts were for the general public in town and um but but the concerning thing to me is is not saying that I don't want to have it but we already applied for funding for two separate courts and we also told the town one thing and to go back would be not would be a disservice and I don't know how we can change that but I think if the town voted for it we we would have to probably do the thing where we add two more courts on so not knowing the specifics of your budget I can tell you that the pickle ball in wilham is going out the bid right now actually it's out the bid so I would expect to have I forget when our bid opening is but within the next week or to I I should have numbers on that which will be very very to what you want to do here what kind of are they going on it's all sand site also it's it's very very similar um the only thing that you might need here is maybe an earth in ramp down from that lower parking area kind of around the corner around you know so but that's not so you probably won't even need that um but this is almost identical and that's what I was saying to John and Randy is that you know it's I'm oversimplifying it but I can almost pick it up you know and put it on that site with with very little work I also after our conversation um we were discussing the fact that uh cres is going to be out here and cres has a term contract to doing the work under the term contract rate so uh we we suggested that I give R uh Brian from Crest fuel call and I did they would do the work if so assuming that there's no procurement issues and they can do it under the same contract in a perfect world while they're out there they could do this so just something to think about or you could put it out to bid um so I was you know thinking that you know you might have the numbers you know I don't know what your budget is for Wally Park but you might have what you need to do six courts a here worst case you do four I mean worst case but four is still good but um I think Randy can tell you six Court seems to be like a critical seems to be the Min 1.4 was that agam's adding two more to theirs Westfield's adding eight more over over in their courts over there uh yeah just because of the number of people I couldn't get in the league in Westfield yet the other day when it opened up was at 720 it opened at seven I couldn't get in so I think that's a personal thing though yeah yeah you locked me out you don't want to get hit by one of the I don't know if it's an issue or not but what we're got bids on here for this tile Court I don't know how it's going to compare to doing asphalt I don't know if this is more expensive less expensive I know there's a a concrete pad here uh and the numbers were that this company was going to be doing everything yeah just not sure how the what we voted on for amount of money I really don't even know the I don't understand the product it was I think the tiles would probably be a little more but it's probably not going to be significantly more cuz this is going to need a paint or concrete is more expensive than asphalt obviously you were doing post tension concrete pad that's somewhat more expensive I don't think that's what they were doing here uh in based on what I knew you know what agam was spending what Westfield was spending uh we probably come close with what was approved so is the number 184 is that the the number for the Wally par courts it's on here or is there CPC yeah 20799 for Wally Park four cours Wally Park okay and then 115 115 116 let's say Okay a couple weeks so the funding does it have to go let's say the courts the two courts up here at Town Hall come in at 90 can that additional money be applied to Wally Park um no it has to be you have to go in front of the CPC and have it okay but it's something that could be done John yes I don't want to yeah okay CC would have to determine if we could use it yeah so it's not a no but it's not a yes right yeah there I knew there were steps that have to be taken but it could be done would have to be yeah question yeah I mean I don't see why you wouldn't right right it's being used pickle ball was lighting contemplated it was at Wally Park and this one I didn't think I thought there was for that it was yeah it was on the under the option yeah down below the number below the so that may be where that additional money is that you 12,000 yeah that's not lighting oh that was for the that was for the yeah that's not a lot that's not enough no well that was for Four Courts is that what did they spe specify head LEDs or I'd like to know why we're like going back after this was like voted in the town and everything because this is going to make such a mess going back as far as changing type of Courts NOP not about the type of Courts but about where they're going to be and how many because now we've had Town votes we've had applications submitted and now all of a sudden we want to stick six here and take and take them away from there or leave them but stick it's going to create a mess I mean it's going to happen and I would say that we take the funding that we got and we build what we got and then we add the two with another application to CPC I mean that's the probably the clean way to do it because we're going to start asking for and I could be wrong and somebody can tell me later or somebody can call me or text me and tell me but you know I hear you and I think um we have to leave the the town hall ones alone that's just listen we just need to talk about it it's all good but I think the ones at Wally Park it was we we put in for a budget for four yeah but if we could do six for the same budget I don't think anybody's going to cry about it no I get that yeah I get that and I think that's what is now coming out of the conversation right yeah I understand these two are going to going to stay here I'm going but it had to be asked I mean yeah so as far as the lighting goes I would hate to see you not put Lighting in and then rip rip the quarts apart in the future so that should be something that you think about and you can also do something where put the light pole bases in now and then go back for the run the conduit run the light pole bases we can get the anchor B you know anchor Bol patterns it's not ideal but it's better than ripping the courts up in a couple years courts have FL they will okay Westfield courts lights yeah they play you know they you know they're controlled there's a group these people take ownership over these places so they're you know people have access to the light they shut it off if leav if the last one there and there's key there's people have keys and stuff they have a pad so Suffield has six brand new courts as well and they have a pad goes on for 45 minutes buzzer goes off you go hit the pad again like a hot tub yeah exactly or par yeah I I had to include John somehow into this conversation so they're not left down all night they're only on when people are using [Music] them I live in Southfield they're always being us yeah I play a bgat parking are always used I mean they're just they're never empty are you getting a quote for the lights also so I am yeah so we we have that's actually that's actually an ad alternate so we'll have a specific number on the lighting so I have the way I split up the base bid in the ad alternates in wolverham I did the base bid with the light pole bases um and the Pavilion bases because we have Pavilions there we don't necessarily need those here um and then we have the an ad alternate for The Pavilions themselves I think is number one and number two is the lighting so I'll have really fresh numbers and all that okay I should have that your next when's your next meeting uh second week in second Wednesday it been wrong all week yeah not Friday that's the only thing I know and and cresview has offered to uh you know assuming that there's not a procurement issue and they can do it under the contract they have offer to put a number to it as well okay so you should have between that those two numbers you have a pretty good deal for what you can get done and whether or not you can expand it other courts I don't know what our procurement rules are so do we have to give a certain number of bids or what so I don't know I know the spray park was you know qualified yeah I don't know why or why not but was Adam they were asking the rest you would be able to do oh the part do we have did they so we didn't have that in the budget right what the crest viw doing the pickle ball we had the spray park you have the spray park right right now I'm sorry yeah we got a yeah yeah you have the spray park number but yet the pickle ball was not they don't they haven't provided the number no we just have quotes for other people which got us to our budget okay we locked in on who when or quite honestly what right just yeah work more the beginning part right I was just looking I think if we get numbers what you come up with from wand that would help out and that would definitely be able to get us moving along a little bit and so we're not dragging this out like second Wednesday to second Wednesday to second Wednesday and then we're making a decision in December right right right um I'm I'm on point for this keeping you know I'm not making any decisions but I'd like to like stay on point and then we can have some definite agenda items for the next meeting sure and we can figure out where we go from there try to try to get I do I have your email I can okay so I can yeah so what I'll do is I'll Circle back with priew um they offered to kind of put a number together off of the werham plans but maybe we just wait until we get the numbers back I think I think we need to see that right so we know what our guard rails are and Randy Randy has my email yeah perfect okay great sound like a plan I I like I I do like the idea of the design though because some of the things that I was seeing on those other ones I had questioned we were too early you know what I mean so I'm like this have the fences going in between like you were looking at how high were those were those they're short yeah they don't need to be it's fall yeah just keep flying over and left and right just is just a a nice feature it's kind of live and learn you know when courts were initially built they didn't have no one had them and then as you live in learn all of a sudden now everyone's putting in the court yeah offenes in the T So makes it nice for us old people have to walk so far all right thank you I'll keep you in the loop and then um I'll plan on having as much information for you next time and it's easy stuff it's not it's not a heavy lift so just what everybody does well I mean the construction numbers will be bigger right but this is nothing this is flopping it from one site to the next and you have a good spot there um John you have pretty good power down there at the bathroom that a whole Transformer that's not being used all right good news great awesome go ahead thank you person so how manyo I don't think the four or six I don't think that's the problem but the dollars yeah is you have the two for the senior center right that's that's pretty smooth so depending on what cres comes back with a number I had talked to Carl about this before he left on his last day on his way out the door um and for cuman was an issue but if it's a state authorized deal he thought it might be able to go in but press you would kind of mix that anyways right in theory so if the dollars come in right at least for the senior center that's a great way to find out if we're all on the same page and then of course swy Park if it's more money John can I just go back and to add to that process with the CPC or is it a whole new application it' be a whole new application and that' be it would get approved by the CPC and then it has to go to town meeting right so if if they built what could can CPC allow them to add the lights to it or is that considered no because that project was technically done or can it be added on an existing added on so that cleans that up so then Senior Center could get done we as Park and we as Park and wreck have to uh make the request for a dollar amount from the CPC yeah AB once Rob gets those uh quotes will have a pretty good idea what we need to do and we'll just apply the third Wednesday and take it from there so get your feet so you would recommend lights at the senior center too just in all the courts period I don't know who's going to use so the seniors the you can day to come out and play probably not we can talk about them yeah we can talk wa until the numbers come in and we can kind of see what we got to do with everything only 47 and I go to bed at 7 o'clock but yeah I I think I think they would definitely be used at Wally Park where you have massive courts and it doesn't impact any neighborhoods I mean that's become a big issue with pickle ball that noise you know lighting and noise that location you got Motocross that and and you're down down right so yeah yeah you're got natural I know there's some neighbors around here but not a lot some they're not complaining about Motocross they're not compling about oh here yeah you hear Motocross here too neighbors over here going that wayal there's not over there right no it's all commercial dog dog yeah the dog the dogs might not like it dog in a bank they'll go wild I can't get it to that's the I'll email you the information and so I'm should I I should probably hold off until we get the wilham information before you know asking Chris you to put a number together or do you want to you could see both of the same I mean it doesn't hurt because they offered to do it yeah yeah they like doing it all at once right if they're going to do it rather than mobilize twice more money obviously so yeah yeah and I'll get a time from them when they're starting thank youy see you John see you I'll be down shortly yeah hey me too we waiting for you than okay so uh we're gonna move we're gonna one thing is we got to stay in Wally Park with one thing in regards to um some equipment I I reached out to um real sharp in Pittsfield about an infield groomer um because the maintenance guys figured that would be worthwhile to have on the fields we've been talking about it for years we kind of have a a homemade thing on the back of the Gator right now but the infield groomer pretty much will drag it grade it out and it would be something that would last for years I found a reconditioned one it's $5,000 up there um he'd be able to deliver it down to the Park we'd have it in the in a week or so and I think that would be a good addition to the park I mean if we get 10 years out of it it's pretty small number for the purchase price and I think we have money in our Wally Park account for bigger things I think it would be a good addition there I know we have the tractor and the York rake but that's kind of a little overkill on the ball fields so I would just like to make a or see if anybody would go along with purchasing that I make a motion we approve um the funding for this a piece of equipment I'll second that thank you we will take a vote um jeie Reed I rick Herman I David I John Wall I hey thank you so we approving funding out of our Wally Park budget for um the uh too Toro infield rake and we are all set with that so that'll be helpful for us so I'm still re yeah yeah I think it's going to be the right thing they maintenance guys borrowed one to get on the softw field I was going to talk about that but I don't know about that well he borrowed one and tried it out on that but it wouldn't break through the material that's on the surface yeah we' need a York R business about that okay I had that for new business stuff too but I think we have somebody here if you want to yes so we want to move on to that yeah we can we [Music] can all right last item Titans yeah W Park sure on come on so uh my name is stepen zul I said I live in safield and I'm here on behalf of the Titans so um I guess for starters thanks for the hospitality of letting us play a bunch of ball games this year we just have started getting down there for practice and games to start up so we're super excited so thank you very much um one thing I think we were here in November time frame right and we were kind of hypothetically bouncing around the idea of possibly leaving a shed something small um I've looked up online I mean they're cheap like a 6x6 or a 8 by8 at Max but so we could leave field liners bases quick dry bases lime whatever you know just so we don't have to Lug in the back of the trucks or in the back of the cars um all over the place um so I guess I'll I'll pause there but that was kind of the the simple ask and wherever we place it you know if you want it up against the building or or whatever that'll be totally fine with whatever you think makes the most sense there softball has something like that now we do yeah we did got vandalized vandalized got vandalized that's one of the risks that we have right is it's not monitored up there all the time and it's just unfortunate but it does happen it lasted a season it did that's season can the door be put back oh I saw that um where would you put it I I I I don't know what's best cuz the fields are pretty spaced out right so I would if if you had any recommendations or a preference I mean I think we're totally open to to anything um the 6090 Field's a little bit further off so I'm assuming in between the two other fields somewhere would make the most sense um and again I don't know if like cosmetically you have a preference on what the heck the thing looks like or doesn't look like I've looked online you get a you know a reasonable one there whether it's plastic or whatever for $3 to $500 um and the weight of the stuff that we're going to put in there I'm not worried about it getting knocked over by wind or falling over or whatever um we wouldn't if it got vandalized it's not the end of the world I mean there's going to be a a liner in there that's a couple hundred bucks and there's going to be some bags of sand and a break there's not going to be more than four or five $600 worth of stuff in there right so that would be unfortunate and disappointing but it's not like losing sleep right they didn't steal anything they just want they were just playing to see what was in there and were disappointed when they when they opened it up um I I could say we probably don't care what it looks like per se because look at the other one right it wasn't a yeah I can tell you this my wife wouldn't have let me put it in it wouldn't be going backyard she would looked at it and said nope send it back um so an idea you're talking about between um the baseball field I see you guys playing at a not the 90 and the softball field so there's the softball there's what we call the 5070 right and there yeah so I would think somewhere kind of in between the 50 70 and the softball on the back side of the bathroom you could do that because you don't you don't want it like necessarily standing alone in the middle of the field that' be weird the middle of the grass anym yeah maybe near the restrooms um or That Sidewalk that kind of splits the two Fields you know and then you kind of go this direction if you keep walking toward the fence along the fence lines right I think either one of those two locations would be ideal yeah yeah I mean quite frankly like if we put it up and you guys aren't pleased with where it goes or it can easily be moved yeah right like it's just a couple guys we should F over put it wherever the heck you guys want us to but you will lock it though just because of the fact that you do have stuff in there and I would hate for someone to take it yeah we'd get one that has a lock me mechanism lock cut it or into it but yeah we put some lock there so be we need on that we have to yeah just um just basically tell us when you do it sure whatever yeah we softball starting soon so you'll know I'll know are you not playing I don't know I'm de B another girl please play is it the Sunday thing where like all okay S no so well we now know that we that Saturday yeah that's the lesson learned right not that you want to use it but if you've ever seen us no no I haven't I haven't been I'm not apologizing I'm saying we're sorry sorry for happens down there don't bring your kids um yeah I'm happy to walk down there with you anytime you know if you want to reach out to me and you know so we talk about where where to put and whatever else yeah that's fine okay cool I'm I'm GNA see you guys down there all the time anyway okay yeah let cool and uh I think is um what's name Jeff King still with you he's got my contact okay cool Jeff set up with your we need to yep cool okay um and's two other things while I got your time um I think last time we asked this is a little bit of a bigger ask but just out of curiosity that softball field if in the future we were to trim back that grass in the back side of the infield and put more clay or top soil there the mix then you could potentially use it as a a 5070 as well I'm not sure if there's any appetite for that if you I'm not sure if there sprinkler systems back there or anything I haven't been there enough yet to know what is there and what isn't there there is okay so it might be complicated we we were we've been toying with this idea anyway because um we wanted we knew that it had to be fixed okay we reached out to somebody who had um kind of given us a quote before and we haven't heard back okay from the folks but there is definitely um some some Irrigation in there okay so we would have to mark that and or have it moved a little bit which could become a project but you're not you're not the first to ask and it's something that we've been looking into and we just got cross this bridge first okay right y yeah okay so it's already being pursued it's something you're looking into we can check in on what the statused a couple of different options making it more um playable for more than just you know okay yeah even then we're it's modified so we're talking about like we're looking at the F moving the fence a little bit and with that being said then moving you got then you can move the Outfield then you can make your infield bigger yeah um more towards the dimensions that are respective for whatever you know whatever you're playing um but we know that there is the um the um sprinklers there not to say that I haven't played on a field where a sprinkler is in the middle of the field just disappears and you it's kind of Mark but we have to consult with our um irrigation guy and we did try to reach out to a company that was going to um give us a quote on doing it doing it all okay because we figured it would be easier if we had it professionally done and then not worried we marked up irrigation lines and we let them kind of Y go with it so that's what we're working on um we'd like to soon but we're waiting going have to reach out to the company that we had contacted we had gotten a CO a quote previously and I had reached out to them and said hey would you reconsider Okay cool so we can just kind of check in on the status of that I think so perfect yeah okay you add one more or is that last one is the um there's that small little tiny Field behind the 6090 that is like grown a bit the T ball field yeah what is the deal with that field does that get used is it is there any been used for a while so it's kind of just is it is so do you know what the bases were like the base path were they like 50 foot bases or 45 foot bases do you have any clue because it doesn't look like they're 60 foot I think they were probably 45 feet for the ball guys but I can I could double check is there any is there any plans to resurrect that or is that just kind of we're letting that well we're kind of kind of let it because we haven't had any ball or anything on is that something you got a kick so I mean no I mean like our U team you know if if we could potentially get 60 foot bases on there and then the yeah I don't know how short it would be yeah so I went and walked it just before I came here to like and I'm like there's no way that this dirt ever went back 60 ft but it would be a cool little place that you know an 8-year-old could hit a home run every once in a while right they'd still have to smash it pretty hard for for an 8-year-old right um but to do little tournaments up there like have our you know host auu games up there um I just wasn't sure if there was any conversations about that or was just a lack of Interest type of thing or what we haven't had anybody using it for a few years it's been kind of like instead of keeping it up we just left it but I that would be something I mean if we had somebody with interest in it we be able to get the field resurrected okay thei I think if we knew that there's going to be use we could turn the maintenance guys onto it right I mean I'd love to see that field being used because it's just sitting there yeah yeah you know been like four years probably egg yeah weaster egg for like the one to three year olds because it's in the fence yeah you can fence yeah they're contained one of the five years it wasn't raining when it's not raining just get Easter [Laughter] hey John director wasn't it John yes do you have somewhere that you know where the the what the dimensions are of that that um makeshift t-ball field we have that's not being used I do not okay just curious I can measure I we can walk like 200 dou I want to say it's probably it's definitely 50 or less um but it was just that we were just sought and was like hey we could potentially do something with that field so I guess we could take that back and see if there's real interest there or not and then we can bring that back at some point if we have thoughts or things maybe be cool I think that's all I got all right cool awesome good see you so I'll be in touch and we'll figure that out where pop that shed thank you very much appreciate it thank you in this candy I've signed up with two things tonight Rob gave me a call and told me that uh he had talked to Crestview and they start the spray park by the beginning of May that sounds good all right are we officially done with Wally Park nope I just but but there's new business I got to wait till then right soft Feld yeah it's about the softball field that's okay I can wait we're gonna bang through this anyway I think yeah yeah because we're probably going to want to put that on the agenda and keep it on hold business after we talk about it amen okay all right um so we'll we'll go to the rail trail okay you got any updates first um yeah we still have one wash out on it I've been trying to get a hold of the person who's farming do you know them at all Joe by chance red red willo's any of them because on their field it's all draining to one spot and washing it out Sutton pushed some of the stuff back but then we had three Ines of rain the week after and kind of made a mess I was up there today probably about a 4 foot deep sinkhole right by the edge of the farm field I haven't been able to get a hold of them but I think if they put some kind of burm on the edge of their property or if you have a contact number I I can reach out tomorrow okay I'd appreciate that didn't know you were still G we're how far down is that it's you from Feeding Hills Road it's probably about a little more than a half mile down on the left on the left yeah yeah okay right now on the fields he's got a bunch of the white what it Whatever It Is TC or cloth out stuff you can plant so Cali leases those Steels yeah that's what I but I figure if I could just get somebody to just put a burm around the trail property just to keep the water on theirs all right what else we got we have a bunch of poth holes kind of in that same which it's not potholes it's more like sink holes on the trail I talked to Randy Brown about those and we pretty much need a he said we could probably make do with a cold patch on it I would be willing to do it but I don't have access to that unless I can buy like a small amount of that stuff somewhere or get it from the gpw is that something we can do we can ask them about well I don't think he really wants to send his guys there to do it if I can get some stuff from him I would be willing to put it down there take them three minutes to drive down the rail trail I realiz that drop it I realized that you should talk to your Selectmen and see if they I've talked to them a lot they probably hate me at this point talk to them again sir John listen you talk enough they'll do something okay okay abolutely well that's the that's the only only things I had for the rail trail all right the friends were looking to do a few projects I was at one of their meetings last week but a few few odds and end projects okay but I think they had a cleanup day think the third week in no the last week in April they were doing clean up on Bill Road around one of the kios okay and then they have their rail trail count the third weekend in May I was going to ask about that are they still looking at resurrecting that kiosk the way down on uh in Westfield well the fire yeah the well they're probably going to hang a few things on it but not put the glass and stuff back on it just curious all right so we're done with the rail trail that's it okay thank you we can move on to Old business uh any updates with the do Park no Sarah was going to join us tonight but okay it seems like she didn't make it is she in a different room we're just wondering that a different meeting well by now she wouldn't be in a different room well last time happened yeah I mean she was like 10 minutes late but not an hour right okay I think it was close an hour I think I think Diane brought her down yeah like she did right when we're almost done all right so we we'll just keep that on the agenda under own business right um Gaga pit any updates on that um I met John down there two weeks ago last week I don't one of one of the weeks we picked out a spot okay Mason the Boy Scout s an email was ready to go and I replied back and Cara sent him some Town PO number or purchasing number tax ex up number thank you I was struggling and I haven't heard about since then so so all right you got to own it from there so it's it's working it's coming along so we'll just keep it on the agenda and we'll just go well I think he was looking for before June so okay I imagine I'll hear from him pretty soon okay I would venture to say the weather has been consistently good for them to probably do anything good enough right but it's coming so yeah okay um T-Mobile Grant any updates on that no I think Jason uh looking for a quote on Wi-Fi oh is is Mike still working on that um he sent him an email but I haven't heard anything back yet okay so we will keep that on the agenda for next meeting sound good all right next item is our new business topic and that's where you want bring your stuff in before I do J do you have anything you want to oh I'm sure by the time we're done okay I just want you know sitting here nice and quiet helpful today I just didn't want to see the senior CER lose to racket ball to pickle ball courts tonight thank you that wasn't that wasn't going to happen I know but I didn't know that for sure no all right new bus all right let's go for it um it's for me it's all unfortunately it sounds like I got an agenda but it's not it's just all softball stuff new it's new old right we throw on Old business when we're doing do we have a plan for the the uh I don't even want to call it dirt that doesn't Injustice play play plastic whatever was dropped on that field do we have a plan do we we're going to need to probably get some dirt yeah well when I spoke with Steve today he said I started to say he used the infield groomer on it and it didn't do anything but peel up like sheets he he suggested that stuff we get somebody scrape that stuff off and get the right stuff that should have been on there and put that down and he said it would probably be find the gro it from there but we need somebody to come in and do that what do we need to maybe get that going well we need to have somebody to actually come in and do it or if we have any maintenance people from the town with the the new tractor that's sitting out there somewhere with the bucket to scrape that stuff off and then have that done but I don't know who's in charge of the tractor now in the bucket this is so complicated is that W park now I think it's down here somewhere the tractor yeah but I believe um Russ told them they can use it whenever they need it I got a phone call from the finance side asking who owned it and is your tractor as much as it's anyone else's so I was well I'll talk to Steve tomorrow and see if he wants to use the tractor and do it or I think our backup one is the person you talk backup one is um them come in yeah Howard Landscaping which was a gentleman who gave me a quote back in um September of 2022 to redo that have that field done properly um and um I reached out to him on March 9th and then um well no I reached out to him before I reached out to him on 228 he emailed me back on 39 I emailed him back on 311 he wased to call me and he hasn't so I'd like to reach out to him just because he had already given us a quote and see if he would either honor that or kind of mess around with it I think he would do the work but I think I think we would have to probably buy the dirt but yeah that's fine that's I think that would be I think that's reasonable and then he could at least give us an idea what dirt that's Pro that can be properly go there and what I can do is I could do one more shot or reaching out to him that should be our a plan is one more shot at reaching out to him and then what would be Plan B is get the tractor up there and scrape that off and try to get some some volunteers perhaps yeah yeah I got a whole house full of volunteers when does your league started well that's it's on my list Dave if you don't mind I'll get to it I'm just kidding we got a couple weeks yeah so yeah they want to start on 428 now I say that and I I say that in that there's a couple things that are going on so Stacy's chasing down um to get insurance and so forth and she likely Cara will confirm has not reached out to you about any of this right okay so Steve think seemed to think it would take a day to do that if we had somebody come in or we had somebody to scrape the stuff off so he could put new dirt down okay he didn't seem to think it was going to be a major project the field is pretty good and basically just needed cleaning up and leveling out so say we had to go with the B plane because it doesn't come back or your guy doesn't come back right so uh who would use the tractor scrap it well I'll check with Steve I guess he's got the license to use that tractor okay and then we would need to buy dirt buy dirt I think I think we should probably order the dirt anyways because whoever does it we're going to need dirt so I think yeah I think you're right we definitely who ordered dirt last time when we had the Bas well that was part of the problem was that that dirt was ordered and they delivered it and it wasn't the right dirt no I mean for the the right dirt for the 90 foot field when that was done last year do you remember John think remember do you remember when we did I know when I did it the dirt came out of uh Connecticut yeah that's the one yeah that's one we've been told is is the last two batches of dirt the incorrect one and the correct one were both purchased through tinic um David had gone through tinic to get them before that was it Marx we used to get it from John said a company Connecticut John what's the name of the company do you remember I don't I've got but I'm sure we have the receipts I probably have in the fins I can dig make some calls okay but then we also need who's going to be the residential expert to um determine how much dirt we need that's a ma problem correct and I not well they would they the dirt place would no right they prob need an inch of dirt and it's boom boom boom here's your yeah they have a tool for that correct yeah correct okay I would think I mean someone knew how much concrete I mean whatever that is that was put on the field last time I can't help it oh I I talk very quick who's though all right okay uh so so we'll get on that love it um and I will get on Stacy about if you think you're going to hit the 28th you get some work to do okay how about that y okay um so I got a a text message with a picture from Dave suton um he was like a couple weeks ago trying to do something about the gates and the fences and everything else and he sent me a picture and said it said whatat do you want me to do with this and he just sent me a picture of the one of the swing gates and I'm like put it on correctly because it's either one of them's on backwards and one of them's on upside down right they are they still I haven't been down there since I mean I don't know what I was doing but I wasn't in a in a place where I was going to get my vehicle and drive down there I knew that could we call the fence company who put it on on Rong I was down there today to look at the field it looked like the fences were on but I didn't I didn't pay close attention he said I'm on it and so I just got to go down there and check I guess they were both on on both sides but I didn't check to see if they're upside down or anything else I'll go down there you just make sure you're going to check it's The Swinging they swing correctly and one of them didn't have a a latch remember yeah okay and then uh you hit on the other one was the timing of the league itself and Stacy paying and everything else okay I miss anything jeie no I think that's good yeah okay what do we uh well what what happened what are we going to do with the um storage shed is the door still broken off yeah it's broken off leaning just and it's not fixable I didn't look at it see if it's I asked the guys if it wasable they said no oh it was plastic and I'm sure a plastic hinge got broken and but I think there's still stuff in it right yes yeah we should probably just move it to the garage for now probably so that it doesn't get I mean isn't there uh what do you call in it um lime some bags was lime I thought it was dry stuff oh oh we need that we need to order that and can we order Speedy dry yes and not cat litter and not cat letter or whatever that stuff was we were putting on field that didn't help conrete correct um sorry the the only way we can do that is um we have to find a place that does purchase orders right yes okay I think the place that Stacy recommended that was where they go and buy it Brian I think Brian uses his um Landscaping like contractor kind of thing um we might be able to try them if you want to give me the number I can call and see what I can do yeah they'll take a video I had it yeah I have it somewhere so I can send it to you okay it's it's right down it's like grany uh simsburry is I think it's down that way I think that's where the dirt is too it's in that area I think that's I think it's right over the line okay if I remember right yeah I think it's grany Simsbury somewhere in that [Music] area I think so um and then one of the thing about the shed is if that shed is not if we can't repair it or if it's you know needs to be recycled or whatever you do with those things um if if we are to look at another shed I would say we collocated with like right next to the wh the Titans are going to put their shed just put them in the same place makes sense yeah it's a big any other new business even though it poured we had a nice time at the Easter egg hunt it was I did I S my picture you guys yeah yeah yeah pretty cool little picture little little amount of people we had they seem to have fun and they hit the mother load with someone had a trunkload of eggs I'm sure they had word so that was good all right that's it I think so I'll make a motion okay does anyone second a motion I second dve D Del motion to adjourn the meeting Rick Herman second it all in favor of adjourning say I I I okay meeting adjourned at 741
