stands one nation under God indivisible with liy and justice for all Mr Guild day I have a couple of comments acting mayor thank you um just really updates on Paving um so again just a reminder we have a lot of Paving that's going to be done in the town this year year um some has already been finished by utility companies and by the town uh last meeting we awarded a contract to our Paving contractor at public bid process uh there's a preconstruction meeting happening next week for that entire list of Roads we're doing uh and actually two of the roads uh Elmer Street between East Broad and north and summon Avenue between Park and Clifton uh they've already started some concrete work there pre-work for 88 ramps um and we'll be having more information come out next next week uh on the on the time of ours but it looks like the towns roads which is roughly about 40 different sections of road or or full roads depending on the location uh will likely be done this summer in full the contractor has a free opportunity in his schedule so we're going to try to get in on that right away um the uh Elizabethtown Gas has about 46 roads or sections of Roads they're working on to date 17 of those have been completed and they're currently working on six more right now uh which includes uh coolage Avenue Cranford Stevens Wells Sherman and Benson in War I uh those are some long overdue projects that were where the infrastructure work was done last year and now they're getting to Paving those and the other part of that grid which is other sections of Benson and other parts of that area uh will be done probably in the fall once the trenches they've just done the past few months settle properly uh but that whole grid by end of the year will be actually newly paid for the most part which is great so um again as I always say a lot of uh a lot of inconvenience um but um a lot lot of good infrastructure improvements afterwards and lastly the county did finish uh its Paving of East Broad Street between uid and North Avenue these past week and a half they have a little more striping to do um that's left but um came out very well and uh thanks I want to thank them for coordinating with us and our parking director and the police department at night to make sure the striping got done properly a lot of striping on that stretch parking spots leftand turns rightand turns they even included some of the striping wasn't included in the project refreshing the stripe on either side of Elm Street which was not included in the the project so it looks very clean there so County really did a good job with that so uh that's it a lot more to come uh and I just urge the public to sign up for nixel if you don't have it please sign up for it you'll get daily uh morning alerts on the paving areas that we're working on every single day thanks thank you good evening again and thank you to everyone who is joining us both in person and online tonight I am presiding over tonight's meeting and my role is acting mayor as mayor mayor brindel is unable to be here as a reminder public public comment will be accepted in person only we are streaming live on YouTube and as like to extend our congratulations to all of the recent graduates in our community with special recognition to our high school graduates we wish you all much success in your next chapters and cannot sure you get your registration in for the first ever cornhole tournament which the dwc will host on Saturday June 29th again in Foundation Park more info is available on the website on the legislative front we have several important items this evening a few of which I would like to highlight we will hear an ordinance on second reading from the Cod review in town property committee to reduce the use of single-use plastic items in restaurants and as councilman contract explains at the last meeting this ordinance will prohibit the distribution of certain single-use food items such as plastic utensils and condiment containers unless specifically requested by a customer known more informally as skip the stuff initiative has been adopted in a number of municipalities it helps reduce waste and Associated costs while also helping to protect the environment in preparing for this ordinance the Green Team conducted more than 25 down uh interviews with downtown restaurants and found that they were very supportive of enacting this legislation also from the to um code Review Committee will vote on a resolution to approve the annual renewal of all alcoholic beverage liquor licenses in Westfield including pler distribution and Club licenses from the public safety transportation and parking committee we have two ordinances on first reading to establish always stops at the intersections of summit and Clifton and Westfield and park this committee reviews many residential requests related to safety and each must go through the appropriate analysis to ensure that the improvements meet the required threshold established by state requirements much like the recent always stop at Clark and Dudley the proposed changes at the inter sections we're discussing are also the result of traffic warrant analysis that determine that they do indeed meet the threshold for the IM implementation of an always stop if adopted the goal is to install both traffic pattern changes in advance of the new school year finally from the public works committee we'll vote on a resolution to authorize the submission of a grant to pay raway Avenue between West Broad and Willow Grove as part of the state a a funding projects for 2025 if approved later this year by the state we would add this to our 2025 or 26 road paving program and with that let's get to work um M ly do we have any
