- Meeting Overview:
The Red Bank Planning Board’s recent meeting included discussion of a application for a property on North Bridge Avenue that has been postponed to April 15th. The applicant’s newly submitted plans, which the board’s engineer has not yet reviewed, suggest the potential for an updated traffic report. This delay aims to consolidate the review process into one meeting rather than spreading it over multiple sessions.
The postponement came after the Planning Board acknowledged receipt of updated plans on the day of the meeting, which had not been reviewed by the engineer. The board expressed the need for another examination due to the potential impact of the changes on the traffic report. A motion was made to carry the application to the April 15th meeting, and the public was informed that this would be the only notice of the adjournment, requiring interested parties to be present at the meeting to learn of the delay.
Adjacent to this, a property owner of 58 Rector Place, neighboring 54 North Bridge Avenue, expressed concerns about the notice of the meeting, which was received only seven to eight days prior, and the difficulty in understanding the property in question due to the address being associated with a laundromat facing a different street. The board clarified that the proof of mailing date is what counts for notice, and with the adjournment, there would now be ample time—40 days—for the public to become informed and prepared.
In another matter, representatives from the local middle school presented plans for renovations that include upgrading fields, replacing an old maintenance building, and adding an outdoor classroom and pathway. The board was informed about a small increase in impervious coverage and the proposed construction of a small-scale infiltration basin to manage additional runoff. The school’s existing utilities will support the project, which will also feature provisions for potential future lighting.
Lastly, the board reviewed and approved minutes from previous meetings and a resolution of approval for a property on Riverside Avenue, with an amendment to specify that the refuse area will be located on the northwestern side of the building.
