Multi-dimensional culture, the fourth goal, stresses the importance of an enriching and inclusive learning environment that prepares students to thrive in a diverse and interconnected world. This goal is about celebrating diversity and ensuring all students feel represented and included in the school’s fabric.

The final goal, social wellness and security, aims to promote the social well-being and safety of students and staff. It includes creating a secure and engaging learning environment where students can excel without concerns for their physical or emotional safety.

The strategic plan presentation detailed specific objectives and action steps for each goal, illustrating a clear path forward for the district. The plan also included the establishment of threat assessment teams and protocols as mandated by the state, with a focus on mental health and promoting healthy lifestyles for the school community. The Board acknowledged the focus group members for their contributions to the strategic planning process.

Gratitude was expressed for the positive impact of Memorial School’s staff on a student’s experience, and concerns were raised regarding the high school’s policies on exams, grading, and discipline. Additionally, the high school’s Parent Association offered support for the girls’ softball team, commending the coaches.

A teacher from A.O. Siefert Elementary School expressed disappointment over not being selected for an internal position, pointing to broader concerns about hiring practices within the district.
