The council acknowledged the success of Heights Grow’s garden tour fundraiser, which supported the community library and civic events. The need for volunteers for the upcoming Fourth of July parade was also noted. Commendations were extended to the Safe Routes to School committee for organizing a Bike Rodeo and to the Civic Events committee for their efforts in planning Memorial Day and Fourth of July celebrations. A resident’s concerns surfaced during the public comment section, touching on parking difficulties on Long Station and speeding issues on Devon Avenue. The council responded with intentions to conduct a traffic study and to enhance enforcement in the affected areas.

Another resident’s grievance regarding permit fees and processes for county roads was aired, describing a lack of response from a county official and a sense of harassment and hindrance in his work. The mayor addressed the concerns by discussing the possibility of a waiver for residents applying for permits and the enforcement of rules for tree services operating without adherence to regulations.
