The discussion extended beyond the boardroom as Heather Maio, a parent and school cafeteria employee, provided insight into student preferences and past dissatisfaction with a similar, previously attempted lunch arrangement. An upcoming sophomore, Jason Singh, expressed the importance of the connections formed during unit lunch, especially with older students, and the beneficial programs that take place during this time. Jim Mer, a former teacher, coach, and resident, while praising the school’s cleanliness and staff, also expressed disappointment over the lack of recognition for past employees.

Additionally, the board addressed the handling of a bullying incident by the school administration after a parent raised concerns about the school’s response and record-keeping practices.
