The pending litigation includes cases from The Mad Room LLC, also known as Ball and Chain, Altos Mexicano LLC, doing business as Taqueria El Mexicano, and other associated businesses. These cases are filed in both the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the District Court of Appeal in the State of Florida, Third District.

The private session was attended by the members of the city commission, whose presence was confirmed, including Chairwoman Christine King, Vice Chairman Joe Carollo, and Commissioners Miguel Angel Gabela, Damian Pardo, and Manolo Reyes. City Manager Arthur Noriega V, City Attorney Victoria Méndez, and a team of assistant city attorneys and outside counsel were also in attendance. A certified court reporter was present to ensure that the session was fully transcribed, with the promise that the transcript will be made public upon the conclusion of the ongoing litigation.
