Watts, who brings substantial experience from Michigan and South Alabama, has already initiated steps to improve field training and community engagement. His appointment aims to bolster the county’s emergency medical services and address staffing challenges.

Additionally, the council approved several routine items, including residential rehab grant program funding and lien agreements.
