The library director recommended utilizing the fund balance for this expense, noting that future inspections might not be necessary for another 10 to 20 years. The board discussed potential future costs related to sprinkler head replacements and emphasized the importance of adhering to safety regulations. A motion was made and seconded to approve the use of funds for the inspection, receiving unanimous support.

In other agenda items, the library reported the successful replacement of its panic button system and preparations for the annual used book sale scheduled for November 7-9. Additionally, the library received equipment for the memory lab, funded by the Melon Foundation, including a new microfilm scanner and a digitization computer.
