The most notable decision was the approval of the stormwater permit application for a mixed-use building redevelopment on Route 28. This project has now met all peer review compliance issues, and the board unanimously agreed that it is administratively complete, allowing the project to move forward.

In another key discussion, the Commission reviewed a proposal for new signage in conservation areas to combat dumping and unauthorized cutting. This initiative has received positive preliminary feedback from the Community and Economic Development Committee’s Tourism Revenue Public Improvements Fund. The requested $3,000 would fund signs and interpretive displays at Chase Brook Park.

The Commission also addressed requests for continuances on two proposals. A project on Mayflower Terrace involving the reconstruction and expansion of a pier and other coastal structures was postponed to February 20, 2025, as per the applicant’s consultant’s request. Similarly, the continued notice of intent for a dock construction on Buttercup Lane received a third and final continuance, also set for February 20, 2025.

The meeting concluded with a brief discussion on the Open Space Team’s planned meeting, which will focus on conservation use options and regulatory boundaries. This meeting, involving the Conservation Commission, the Open Space Committee, and other stakeholders, will take place later in February.
