A brief history of the ordinance’s development was outlined. It began in mid-last year when a request for policy development related to ADUs was made. The ordinance committee, chaired by one of the council members, held several meetings in January to draft the ordinance, eventually resulting in a joint public hearing with the planning board. Notably, there was no testimony in opposition during this hearing.
