In other infrastructure-related updates, Chairwoman Andurora reported improvements in buildings and grounds, noting the removal of old shrubs by the road department and preparations for the park’s opening day. The park is set to open on April 12, with plans to replace 14 field lights, aided by donations from a local electrical contractor. A small fenced area will be constructed to house baseball field equipment, and a new panic bar was installed on the front door, although some maintenance issues persist.

Road and recycling improvements were also highlighted, with Friendship Road and Plymouth Street recently paved, and further work on driveway aprons and road edges planned. A repaired street sweeper was noted, and quotes for a new container for the convenience center are anticipated by the next meeting. Furthermore, the board discussed the launch of a new municipal website, www.buno.org, offering enhanced features like public alerts and dual calendars for municipal and recreational events. The website’s self-management by the clerk’s office aims to resolve previous hosting issues.

In terms of sustainability initiatives, the board announced the county’s certification as a Sustainable New Jersey municipality, achieving bronze status. The community garden initiative saw progress with a donation of 40 pallets from a local resident, intended for constructing a tool shed.

Addressing community safety, the Chief reported plans to implement nightly foot patrols in local parks in response to complaints about juvenile gatherings. Residents were urged to report any unruly behavior or vandalism, with a non-emergency police line provided to address these concerns.
