Moorhead Planning Commission Discusses Key Zoning Map Amendments Amid Comprehensive Plan Update

The updated mixed-use zoning allows for both residential and commercial developments, offering developers increased flexibility.
The commission recommended approval of these zoning changes to the city council. The adjustments reflect a strategic approach to urban planning, encouraging diverse development opportunities in key areas of the city, such as Highway 10 East and Highway 75 South.
Additionally, the commission reviewed a request from Trantina Properties LLC for a conditional use permit to operate a towing impound lot at 2857 22nd Avenue South. The proposed lot is situated in a light industrial area, adjacent to existing impound facilities. Staff recommended approval of the permit, contingent upon conditions including a drainage and dust control plan, opaque screening, and compliance with all necessary permits. The commission moved to recommend approval to the city council.
