Their participation was made possible by the school’s DECA program, which allowed them to compete internationally without financial burdens on their families.

Following the DECA presentations, Leah Dubsy and Emma Hart from the Deli Ducka community service committee detailed their successful fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society, raising over $1,000 through initiatives like raffle baskets and a “miracle minute.” Dubsy reflected on the conference’s impact, stating, “I feel like it really built my confidence,” emphasizing the team-building skills acquired. Jordan Bachn and Mary Batista Perez from the Deli action team discussed their focus on financial literacy, particularly the FAFSA process.

The high school wrestling team’s achievements were also celebrated, with the team recognized as a four-time state champion and having secured 14 consecutive sectional titles. Jamar Dixon was lauded for becoming the all-time wins leader with 156 victories. The board commended the team’s dedication, teamwork, and the leadership of head coach Tom Maxwell, encouraging team members to reflect on their accomplishments and the character they exhibit as role models in the school community.

The Interact Club’s contributions were another focal point, with students sharing the personal and community impact of their service projects. Several administrative motions were approved, including the appointment of Dr. David Corner as the school physician and Angela Gregory as the treasurer of school monies. The board also confirmed Newfield National Bank as a school depository, approved professional service appointments for the 2025-2026 school year, and acknowledged the establishment of travel budgets for employees, all without dissent.

Further motions involved educational initiatives, such as the approval of clinics and workshops, Google certification training reimbursements, and the designation of Apex and Edgenuity for credit recovery. A summer reading list, certified Wilson tutors for reading services, and the district’s comprehensive equity plan for 2025-2028 were also passed.
