In addition to the public safety funding, the city council also highlighted the approval of $750,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) subgrants. These funds are designated for the development of two playgrounds at Dave White and Mary Tony Park, projects that are anticipated to enhance community recreational spaces.

Furthermore, the council reviewed the city’s audited financial statements for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2024. The audit, presented by an external auditor, revealed a positive financial outlook for Sebring, with an unmodified opinion on the financial statements and compliance with investment of public funds. Although a minor timing error was noted in financial reporting, the city remains in a robust financial position with a healthy fund balance and increasing revenues across various sectors.

Lastly, the council conducted a public hearing on ordinance 1546, which involves amending the city’s comprehensive plan by updating the capital improvements element. The ordinance, aimed at better aligning city development with future capital projects, was approved without public objection.
