The council noted that the design could involve shifting the road to accommodate vegetation and ensure residents’ concerns are addressed, particularly regarding visibility and safety for pedestrians and cyclists. The project aims to balance infrastructure needs with community preferences, and further community engagement is planned.

The New Monrovia unpaved roads project also featured prominently, with updates on construction plans that include road reconstruction, driveway enhancements, drainage improvements, and new sidewalk installation. The project covers Southeast Murray Street, 43rd Street, and the unimproved section of Southeast Field Street. The council is considering community feedback, particularly concerning the preservation of trees and natural vegetation within the project area. While some vegetation may need removal for safety reasons, efforts will be made to maintain as much as possible to blend safety with community aesthetics.

Another topic was the Rio streetscape enhancements and Rio property design plans, slated for further review in upcoming meetings. The council aims to increase community engagement by collaborating with local entities, such as the sheriff’s office, to host events that gather public input.
