The selectboard discussed strategies to increase participation in the community survey for the center school project. Suggestions to boost engagement included promoting the survey on social media, placing hard copies in public spaces, and possibly including it in school communications to reach newer residents. The survey aims to inform a feasibility study about potential uses for the center school, with the deadline for responses tentatively set for September 30th.

In parallel, the town is dealing with the unexpected resignation of Rusty Plescro, who had only recently assumed the role of Community Development Administrator. Plescro left to return to a previous position more aligned with his interests. Although the position has been posted, the process of finding and training a new administrator is expected to take time.

Additionally, there was a discussion about necessary repairs to the center school roof. The new replacement for Keith Garrett Barry has taken responsibility for finding a contractor to address the issue. A potential budget of $12,000 from the Community Preservation Committee’s administrative expense fund may be allocated for the repairs, pending approval.
