A representative from Musco was mentioned in relation to the procurement of specific replacement bulbs for the existing lighting systems. The cost for these bulbs stands at $125 each, plus shipping. Additionally, the labor involved in replacing these bulbs is expected to cost at least $1,500.

In terms of community events, the board discussed the upcoming fundraiser linked to the village black event on November 28. In-person registration and coordination with a local church were part of the planning, with flyers already distributed online. The board approved the fundraiser unanimously.

Preparations for the December 20 luminary event are also underway, with cookies ordered and the Silva Lake Chorus organizing a hot chocolate fundraiser. Entertainment will be provided by the chorus and Kicksten Elementary School’s choir, with efforts ongoing to secure a third performer. Members are considering adjustments to the program as the date approaches.

In other matters, the board touched on community engagement and planning, particularly for the Kingston 300th Gala, with tickets going on sale December 1 for the January 31 event. A local book launch is also underway, with pre-orders priced at $35.

Challenges in the search for a new town administrator were noted, with interviews scheduled for mid-November. Fiscal year 2027 budget planning is in progress but facing complications due to issues with the financial software system and delays in obtaining necessary paperwork from the finance director.

The recent special town meeting was confirmed to have achieved a quorum, with all proposed articles passing except for the decision regarding the town clerk position. Upcoming town elections are set for November 15.

Lastly, maintenance updates included completed benches and planned tree trimming, alongside the winterization of Grace Beach Park. Repairs to auditorium lighting are postponed until more lights require attention.
