Plans include the installation of a raised crosswalk to improve safety for students who frequent the area. The project is designed to adhere to federal and state regulations, requiring eminent domain procedures to secure the necessary easements.

The commission commended the thoroughness of the presentation, although one commissioner expressed concern over a robust tree at the 291 Walnut Avenue site, inquiring about efforts to preserve it.
