Additionally, the council approved the extension of employment for CRA Executive Director Annabo Emanuel and renewed a $250,000 agreement with Florida’s Strategic Partners LLC to support economic development services. In a move to bolster maternal health equity, a grant request exceeding typical limits was approved for Olaina Properties LLC. The project will expand access to community-based care, building on existing mobile clinic services in Miami-Dade County.

First-time homebuyers within the CRA boundaries can now benefit from up to $10,000 in down payment assistance, as the CRA board approved new program guidelines. This initiative aims to facilitate home ownership by allowing this assistance to be combined with other funding sources.

The council also set the municipal election for November 3, 2026, with a potential runoff on December 1, 2026, to elect the mayor and council members for districts 2 and 3. Updates were made to the Centennial Committee membership requirements to include business owners.

Other significant actions included reallocating $75,000 to the small business grant program, approving a partnership with the Panellis County Sheriff’s Office for access to Florida’s facial recognition network, and ratifying emergency pipeline replacement work to address infrastructure needs in the Arch Creek East neighborhood.
