Superintendent Kelly D. Smith commended the middle and high school staff for transitioning to the new building in just two and a half days, emphasizing the positive attitudes and hard work of everyone involved. The relocation was further supported by Graham Moving Company, which exceeded its committed bid by donating eight additional moving loads, amounting to a $10,500 donation to the district. This generosity was recognized as a contribution to the district’s efforts.

In other matters, the board approved several donations, including $500 from Crystal Valley for the Future Farmers of America, $14,247 from Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop for the “Green Bus Noisy Offering,” and a $5,000 anonymous donation for Career and Technical Education shipping containers. Additional funds included $500 from the Gibbon Lions for the PBIS program and $500 from Brenda Grunhagen for the life skills class.

The board briefly touched on the continuation of their partnership with the Southwest West Central Cooperative, which supports the district with various services including teaching, learning opportunities, and safety inspections.
