Old Bridge School Board Celebrates Student Talent at PTA-Organized Event
- Meeting Overview:
The recent Old Bridge School Board meeting was marked by a vibrant display of student talent, organized by the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). The board meeting highlighted the collective efforts of the school community, including PTA members, teachers, and families, in organizing and executing a successful program.
The event began with a warm welcome from Jen D’Antuono, who identified herself as both the treasurer of the PTA and a member of the board of education. She expressed gratitude to the attendees, which included parents, families, and teachers, emphasizing the importance of their support for the students, affectionately referred to as Huskies. D’Antuono humorously acknowledged her challenges with spelling and encouraged everyone to assist with event logistics.
The performances commenced with student Anana Bales, who delivered a song that conveyed deep emotions about personal struggles and resilience, capturing the audience’s attention with themes of brokenness and beauty. The event’s atmosphere was one of excitement and encouragement, with D’Antuono engaging the audience to applaud and cheer for the performers.
Following Anana, Emma Nort took the stage, performing a song filled with longing and emotional turmoil. The audience was then treated to a dynamic dance performance by a student named Zombie, whose vibrant movements captivated the crowd. The performances continued with Adella Fippo, who sang a piece that resonated with themes of aspiration and personal reflection. A group performance by Sweet Richardson, Star Richardson, and Brianna Morales further energized the audience with their energetic dance.
Other standout performances included those by Jacob Gil and Anna Mukund, each delivering songs that conveyed personal narratives and dreams. The audience’s engagement and enthusiastic applause throughout the event contributed to an uplifting atmosphere.
The event also included a brief intermission, allowing for preparations for the next acts. Post-intermission, Ariana performed “Ordinary” by Alex Warren, followed by Evangelene Dantino’s rendition of “When I’m Gone,” which drew particular attention as it mirrored a past performance by her sibling. The duet by Ashley Beck and Charlie Aetta captivated the audience with a story of love and intrigue, while Brianna Jasmine Morales delivered a notable piece with emotional depth.
The audience was further engaged by a duo, Jaylen Ingram and Ari, who presented a song. Ruby White’s lively performance of “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” energized the crowd, leading into the final act featuring a duo of hula hoopers, Aana Bales and Donna Jamaski. Although their performance faced a brief delay due to technical difficulties, the program quickly adjusted to accommodate speeches before their act.
Throughout the event, acknowledgments were made to various individuals and groups who contributed to the success of the performances. The AV club from Old Bridge High School received special thanks for their technical support, with members Faith, Ria, and Nia specifically recognized for ensuring the show ran smoothly.
A 50/50 raffle added an element of excitement, with the winning number being 2 4 3 7 4 26. The audience was encouraged to participate in future raffles, with a noted appreciation for Mr. Foy, who called the numbers during this segment. The contributions of parents who transport their children to lessons in singing, dance, and other activities were highlighted.
Special thanks were extended to the memorial staff and teachers present, including Mr. McCoy and Dr. Sasso, who assisted in organizing the event. The collaborative efforts of PTA members, such as Jen, Aaron, Joanna Beck, and Heather Rolls, were emphasized, showing the collective dedication involved in organizing such events.
