One such ordinance aimed to amend section 2-24 of the revised General Ordinances of the Borough of Roseland, specifically focusing on the Department of Police. Another ordinance focused on the use of pickleball courts. The proposal to change the administration of standing committees within the Borough Council sparked a debate. Councilman Bardi defended the modifications, citing the need for flexibility to adapt to the borough’s evolving needs. However, Councilman Trillo advocated for the retention of essential committees focused on public safety and public works.

Other notable points included a discussion about the financial outcome of a previous event involving the sale of raffle tickets. The council clarified that the event had been successful, with over 100 attendees, leading to a positive financial result. The resolutions related to the event were passed without significant opposition.

The meeting also included farewells and expressions of gratitude. Mayor James R. Spango acknowledged the retirement of Councilwoman Michele Tolli after 18 years of service, appreciating her dedication and contributions to the community. Additionally, Janet Treon from the public, praised the council’s efforts in getting the roads paved and congratulated the mayor on his reelection. She also paid tribute to Councilwoman Tolli for her public service and volunteerism.

The council also recognized the volunteers of the year, Priscilla MZ Johnson and Steve Batt, for their dedication and extensive volunteerism in beautifying the town and revitalizing the Boosters Club, respectively. The council members and the mayor expressed their appreciation for their contributions.
