Students from Williams Middle School reported that the program had sparked increased awareness of bias and microaggressions among their peers. Eighth-graders participated in planning activities and discussions on these issues, and students expressed a newfound sense of responsibility in calling out disrespectful behavior. The middle school students also introduced “kindness cards” to recognize acts of kindness, fostering a supportive environment.

At Glenbrook, students participated in an assembly addressing belonging and microaggressions, culminating in a community art project to amplify student voices. The assembly prompted discussions about the impact of words and actions, and students expressed pride in their contributions to fostering a more inclusive atmosphere. A student-led activity encouraged classmates to find commonalities.

The high school level also saw ongoing efforts to integrate inclusivity principles into the peer leadership curriculum. A faculty advisor described projects focused on mental health, diversity, and allyship, all aimed at facilitating discussions around bullying and promoting empathetic behaviors. An anonymous activity allowed students to share personal experiences with bullying, fostering empathy and understanding among participants.

Additionally, the meeting celebrated notable achievements by the student council and their advisors. Treval Jackson, Annie Crow, and Kobe Mackey were recognized as Commonwealth award winners for their leadership and contributions to the school environment. Annie Crow received special acknowledgment as the “unsung hero” for Western Massachusetts. The school also received the Gold Council of Excellence Award for the second consecutive year.
