Overview: During the recent Chaska City Council meeting, considerable attention was given to the approval of a feasibility study for the 2026 downtown reconstruction project. The project, focusing on the revitalization of Elm Street and parts of Third and Hickory Streets, faced challenges due to an old creek bed intersecting the area. Initially, the council had planned to replace a failing bridge over Third Street with state funding. However, the bridge remains functional, prompting a shift in strategy to install a culvert instead and continue with the street reconstruction.
