In addition to policy discussions, the meeting celebrated student achievements. Seniors Joyce Ahn, Jay Krywick, and Amber Wang were honored for their outstanding contributions and accomplishments. Joyce Ahn was recognized as an Unsung Hero for her volunteer work, including coaching Special Olympics and feeding the homeless. Jay Krywick was celebrated as the Salutatorian of the Class of 2026, and Amber Wang, the Valedictorian, was commended for her leadership and community service, notably her co-founding of the nonprofit Arts for All.

The board also acknowledged the achievements of the girls’ basketball team, which recently secured two consecutive sectional championships and a first-ever conference championship. Each player’s contribution was recognized individually, with applause from the audience. Two seniors from the team are set to continue their basketball careers at Emory and Swarthmore.

In preparation for the next academic year, the board discussed the offering of classes despite some having low enrollment numbers. The board also highlighted the consolidation of multiple classes into single classroom settings to optimize resources while ensuring students receive necessary instruction. This included art courses, TV broadcast media, journalism, theater arts, honors concert choir, and specialized courses such as Holocaust, genocide, and social justice studies.
