Mrs. Liz Diverter, after 25 years of teaching sixth-grade math, was honored for her dedication and relationships with students, especially her own children within the school. Miss Christine Leu was acknowledged for her enthusiasm and commitment over nearly three decades, particularly at the Hess school, where she played a role in extracurricular activities.

The board also celebrated the contributions of Mrs. Robin Dixon, Mrs. Sheila Flecher, Mr. Jeff Gildner, Mr. Jeff Cacera, Mrs. Lorie Robinson, Christine Scorano, and Jennifer Shy, each leaving a lasting legacy through their dedication to the district. Jana, known for her work in developing the gifted and talented language arts curriculum, was notably commended for her preparedness and the impactful role she played over the years.

In addition to honoring retirees, the board recognized outstanding achievements among students and staff. Laya Ezra Giraa won the summer reading challenge for May, praised for her intelligence and kindness. The Read 180 program awards were highlighted, with four out of six New Jersey recipients hailing from Hamilton Township. Ms. Carter was acknowledged for her exceptional teaching, which improved her students’ literacy skills.

The meeting also underscored upcoming events and initiatives, including a grant aimed at fostering inclusion between autism and general education classes. Special Education Week was approaching, promising activities designed to engage students. The community’s support was acknowledged, particularly during Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week.

In a key decision, the board approved the budget for the 2026-2027 school year, following a discussion in the finance and operations segment. The budget’s approval included authorizing the business administrator to requisition tax payments from the township.
