This change reduced the town’s financial obligation by approximately $90,000, offering much-needed relief as officials had been reallocating smaller sums across various budgets to meet financial needs. The approved budget now stands at $34,773,562.50, reflecting this adjustment. The board members expressed relief at the additional funds, emphasizing the importance of the adjustment in maintaining balanced budgets across departments.

In addition to the budget discussion, the board addressed amendments to the town administrator’s contract. A clerical error in the contract regarding the automobile allowance was corrected, changing the stated allowance from $500 annually to $500 monthly.

The meeting also covered minor updates to the annual and special town meeting warrants. Changes included a correction to the salary and compensation of the town moderator, an update to the borrowing explanation for the COA library building, and the removal of a recommendation line from a citizens petition.

Further, the board accepted a $50 donation from Susan Simo to the Council on Aging, expressing gratitude for her continued support.
